When you get old enough, you finally realize that this movie is about a sad, depressed individual, who got lost his way. Basically 90's version of joker.

It's a sad movie that should speak to all of us who choose to spend our free time on a board about television.
Great movie. So many absolutely hilarious scenes
does this actually happen in medieval times
I went recently and it’s pretty accurate obviously besides having people in the crowd come down. It was pretty fun and the food was surprisingly decent
i remember being annoyed at his voice
I understood this the first time I watched it when I was like 8
Yeah, most people usually consider it a comedy-thriller, or comedy-horror when it gets brought up.
Also that line about how in the future you could play Mortal Kombat with your friend in Vietnam aged like fine wine, even if it wasn't through cable.
It's a great movie. Both funny and absolutely terrifying at the same time. Never got the hate for it.
Nobody hated it, and it's not a classic either. Why is there a need to take an extreme stance on anything.
The movie received an underwhelming welcome because it's not what people expected of Jim Carrey. Iirc, ironically, this was the movie that made him the highest paid actor for a single movie at the time. It tanked and went obscure, kek.
A lot of people hated/disliked it
There's a difference between hating something and disliking something. You're moving goalposts. All I'm saying is: You should check your language, if you're going to try and make a point that comes across. It's a movie. You can hate a movie, sure. Nobody hated 'The Cable Guy'. Have some imagination when you write something.
People hated it
Ok. But, did anyone kill anyone else because of how much they hated it? No. I didn't think so!
>did anyone kill anyone else because of how much they hated it? No. I didn't think so!
That almost never happens....almost.
Nice cope post loser
Holy shit you are uptight, nitpicky, and technical. a lot of people use hate and dislike interchangeably in casual bullshitting conversation.
You seem like a gay
Wouldn't say it "went obscure," it's a pretty well known movie now.
You're proving my point. I said it went obscure. Past tense. It's a better known movie now. Current tense.
>Nobody hated it
The movie was infamously hated at release. Even The Simpsons joked about it with Bart insulting ir and Homer angrily destroying its script.
It's definitely a classic. Best Carey movie.
carrey's best comedy movie probably. it's standard carrey spastic guy antics but with a sad, sinister, psychotic edge
The lighting bolt cable of STD's
Jim and his AIDS dick at it again
Perhaps I should start adding emoticons to my posts.
This movie is about a situation WHEN THE TRUTH IS FOOUUUUUND TO BEEEEEEEEEEE LIES
THE PASSWORD
IS..........

I just rewatched this, after 20+ years ago. It's not bad
thats why i say hey man nice shot
this is what chuds did before they could hide in a basement all day
It's pretty good. It's crazy some considered this a career ending blunder for Carrey when it was more of a minor curveball. Like this came out before Liar Liar and The Truman Show so it was still the peak years for him. Also crazy that Ben Stiller directed it when this was a few years before he became a ubiquitous comedy movie actor.
The first time I watched it. The day it came out in theaters.
This movie is painfully israeli upon rewatching
big if true!
almost every single movie is
for me its the goofy mustache hes rocking while he beats up on owen wilson
>tfw you will never play mortal kombat with your friend in vietnam
This movie reminded me of a homeschooled friend I used to know. Totally weird, clingy and lacked normal social cues but fun to be around in small doses.
I'VE BEEN DOWNHEARTED BABY
what's funnier is how the cable guy knows how to blend in social settings even though he's supposed to be a loner, take the scene where he's with broderick's family, making jokes, dirty jokes, and everyone's laughing, how the frick he didn't had any friends before?
A lot of the people at his karaoke party he’d probably consider his friends, but the problem is that he becomes hyper fixated on people and probably drives most of them away. He even seemed like a cool guy to Matthew Broderick on a few of their times out, but then just crossed the line
Chip Douglas is every Cinemaphile user, my right?
>Obsessed with television and cinema
>Friendless
>Fatherless
>Neglectful and promiscuous mother
>Sleeps and lives in his car
>Speech impediment
>Prone to gaslighting and manipulation
>Pro-police
>Sleeps with prostitutes
>Stalks and peeps on women
>Possibly a closeted homosexual
>Homocidal and suicidal tendencies
yes, no, no, no, no, maybe, i work with women, no, i used to, no, takes one to know one, sometimes
eh you were half right
This is not true at all, I don't have a speech impediment.
i don't know, it sounds like Quentin Tarantino to me
chip douglas is just jim carreys persona irl. a creepy fricking stalker
once again a reminder that carrey is allegedly a pervert degenerate, serial abuser, stalker, perpetual online lurker incel freak and literally drove someone so insane that they now owe $10,000 in er bills and thousands of dollars in therapy and meds. and that he drove someone else to suicide. he can jump off the nearest cliff.
Cute
troony Jim Carrey looks like THAT?
>bash the cable guy
>don't let him back in the house
