This isn't allowed anymore. Look at Tomb Raider. Look at the burkhas they're forcing on Salma Hayek and Kat Dennings. So I hope you like Awkwafina because that's what you're getting.
Yes it is. Great beginning. Teases some kind of development picrel. Does nothing but meanders and introduces stupid shit and gun fights with zero tension. Fizzles out.
The problem is that they are all minmaxxing and throwing out ifeas to see what sticks abd nobody wants to devote time writing a story that might not stick and be popular.
It's very stupid and tries too hard to be sappy and dramatic at the same. The show's insistence of painting every shizo as some kind of unfortunate Metal Gear tier dog of war, "who just never had a choice man" and not seeing the irony behind these same shizos gleefully slaughtering rooms of people is just laughable. Putting these twins into ED "like they are free from hell of the war, man" is dictionary definition of pretentious.
It's supposed to be an action packed show, if everyone didn't kill each other because they were perfectly well adjusted ex military there wouldn't be a show. Seems to me that it is you who is pretentious.

>action packed show
Action with no tension in its dozen of gunfights is fricking awful reason to watch this show. And it's not me who puts angelic music over both of the twins deaths and pretends they are just victims it is the show, insisting that it is very dramatic and please clap. There are numerous such scenes in the show. And they are equally as dumb.

The tension of that entire arc is in Rock trying to save those kids. His whole shtick is that he can't let go of that innocence he's been carrying, those kids are straight up metaphors. I don't remember the music but they were kinda victims, can't really blame them for what they did. I mean sure they were fricked in the head and should be dead forsure but it'd still be big fricking wack to see a couple of kids get frickin smoked. Everything in anime is played to 11 so ofcourse whatever they do is gonna be hamfisted and melodramatic, doesn't make the overarching story bad though.

Again it is really hard to not perceive this as a joke when it's juxtaposed against them slaughtering rooms of people and bathing in blood and guts.
Yes it's a "stylistic" choice to make at as edgy and silly as possible, we know author likes Tarantino, except somehow QT knew that if you are making that choice it must be applied to everything not just episodic shizos. Otherwise it's fricking stupid and laughable for Rock to try to save these far gone psychos because "they are dem innocent kids". You would have a point if it actually was going somewhere or affected anything but no. It is just part of the formula.
Rock wants to slove conflict peacefully
Revy wants to shoot shit up because she was diddled as a kid.
Repeat for every shitty plot they present likes it's some House MD.
Again it is shit not because it has no good qualities. It's shit because it wastes them on tensionless gun fights with a rule of cool where you know Revy or Rock or anyone with a name really, won't get hit.

Are you unable to sympathize with a character just because they're not morally justified all the time? I mean shit my man, those kids were raised in kill or be killed, they live it. The way they treat Rock is proof they aren't all the way gone, they just don't know anything else. You keep saying there's no tension but there are plenty of moments where shit gets hairy for the primary characters, and no none of them get taken out but that's par for the course with action based media.

and Revy was ass raped as a kid again I refer you to episode 7, where I genuinely thought the show is about to become really good.
When Rock confronts her on her mentality that having a shitty life is an awful justification for being a sociopathic killer. And that it's just a cope she puts up.
Silly me thought that this going to be a cornerstone of the show. Where Revy's mentality is going to be confronted many times on this. That there is going to be a development for thier characters.
And what happens for the next 20 episodes? Nothing. Mediocre crime novellas with glimpses of something resembling what I described but all going back to status quo positions. It's a tragedy of wasted characters.
Came off as forced and unbelivable to me. The 'who's who' gimmick was cool but yeh super dumb. I was dissapointed that it was the boy twin that offered himself to Rok, rather than thr girl.
Oh right as opposed to the chainsaw mortician, the Chinese kukri ninja, and the Mauser magician. It's anime my man, not exactly the place to look for realism.
Yes it is. Great beginning. Teases some kind of development picrel. Does nothing but meanders and introduces stupid shit and gun fights with zero tension. Fizzles out.
how much did you guys watch? i agree that it's shit, but i only watched the first season and i'm curious if anything afterwards got better or worse
It just more of the same. Again the show main fault is that no one develops. Yes even Rock. It's just back to back mediocre crime plots where you know no one from the main cast will get hurt.
Honestly no. Those guys are right when they say 2D>3D. There’s zero actresses out there that would simultaneously have the right face, amazing body, and attitude to pull her off. Same with Faye and other anime women.
I don't think any of the Black Lagoon characters could be properly translated into live action with the exception of a yougn Chow Yun Fat as Mr Chang (since his design is just him from A Better Tomorrow) and some sort of genetic hybrid of Terry Crews and Wesley Snipes for Dutch
No, they only work when adapting a material that's not super over-the-top to begin with, like Oldboy or Edge of Tomorrow or A History of Violence.
Trying to adapt over-the-top shit to live action is rarely going to go well.
So could Kung Pow, but they're not.
Do you not know what an adaptation is?

What you're saying makes no sense, are you seriously moronic or just an ESL?
Kung Fu Hustle is not an adaptation, saying "well it could be an anime" means nothing because ANY film could be an anime, just like any film could be made into a cartoon.
What do you even think you're adding to this conversation?

Okay stupid Black person, my first post was
Live action adaptations only work if done in an over the top style like a who framed roger rabbit or bollywood style
And then i continued with other over-the-top style movies such as kung fu hustle. Then you sperged out. God youre a fricking moron

So you genuinely don't know what an adaptation is?
There's a difference between trying to adapt something over-the-top into live action and having an over-the-top story that exists in live action to begin with (though frankly, nowadays most of that shit looks terrible and is more animation than it is live action, you can thank Marvelshit for that).

I’m not the person you were originally responding to.
es breddy gd 90s anime kino, but they cut out a lot of stuff from the manga so its becomes incongruent, it was made for fans of the mangas, like most anime back then was.
She's gotta be Chinese American, emphasis on the American, and have a nice rack
>bug
No
>mongolian-siberian-russian
Yes
>Chinese American
Chloe Bennet
Bleached by a Paul brother.
>oh you mean an overweight black woman gotcha
So, get a time machine and grab a young version of Tia Carrere from the early 1990s.
So she doesnt exists, good..leave BL alone

Thank you for agreeing with me
wish less jap authors just made shit up as they went along to avoid shit like this
The problem is that they are all minmaxxing and throwing out ifeas to see what sticks abd nobody wants to devote time writing a story that might not stick and be popular.
It's the same with western tv.
Ive read the manga and watched the anime.
The only good arc/story is roberta's. Other than that its just dumb edgy fun.
>implying the vampire twins plotline isn't maximum kino
Honestly my man, check urself.

the worst part about it is the main black character terrible stereotyped character and turns what could be a 10/10 anime into cuckbait
The character design and artistic direction is 4/5. Everything else is mid to low.
Honestly no. Those guys are right when they say 2D>3D. There’s zero actresses out there that would simultaneously have the right face, amazing body, and attitude to pull her off. Same with Faye and other anime women.
yeah no fricking shit moron
I want to fix her bros.

Some things shouldn't be adapted. Whoever thought a live action One Piece was a good idea should be shot.
