can anyone explain how Arcane is considered a masterpeace? The story is not finished and the plot is somewhat predictable. Any top 25 MAL literally mogs this show.

>Cinemaphile - Cartoons, Anime, and Politics
Problem?
I have no problem with you being redditarded no.
>Any top 25 MAL literally mogs this show.
yeah but then you'd have to watch anime so i'll take arcane every time
>I’ll watch a shittier version of anime that borrows every design and concept from it because I’m just that redditarded
I get you fanboy Netflix one piece too
Voice acting, sound, and especially animation are great. Did you even watch an episode or just shit talking for no reason because you have actually zero points besides "lol plot bad"? Put some effort into your posts if you want people to take you seriously next time
Ofc I watched the show why else would I make this post moron. I watched all 6 episodes and yes, while the voice acting, sfx, and vfx are solid it seems cheap knowing they plagiarized spiderverse. For a show that is considered adult, none of the main characters die so it seems nothing is at stake. Take AOT or JJK for example, most of the main cast are dead.
they're a bit limited in who they can kill because the main cast is all in the game as well. doesn't make it any less "adult." adult doesn't mean death has to occur. there's drugs, violence, betrayals, and deaths (since you want that to happen sooooo badly) among many of the goons, including silco, who was literally the main villain and motivator. idk why people think a main character has to die otherwise the show is for kids. if ANY of the main cast dies it literally makes the show worse from a writing point of view. you comparing it to AOT or JJK (i wont comment on it, havent seen it) is moronic. AOT has giants whose only goal is to eat people, of course a main character has to die, the show literally sets it up to happen from episode 1.
>including silco, who was literally the main villain and motivator.
and only interesting part of the show
i aint reading any of that shit
>I watched all 6 episodes
>I watched all 6 episodes
All 6?
>All 6 episodes
???
Also, riot used that style before spider verse, moron
It might be the other way around
Is this an even shittier version of final fantasy
Arcane is very good at set pieces and it's animation in general is unique and has soul - the only thing even in the competition is the animated spiderman movies. It is kind of basic, and the stuff that ties too much into the game's "lore" is a bit weak, but the character arcs while simple are pretty well done imo.
Gorgeous animation(to me), stellar voice acting and it's really well paced. I never felt bored. I like all of the characters, even Vi, who in the hands of say a Blizzard writer would come off as the most insufferable person imaginable. Also Jinx.
so you like kids
I'd like to have a couple one day, yes.
I won't pretend it wasn't great, even ironically. and I'm someone who has actively avoided anything League of Legends since I saw what it did to my college roommate, but that's another story.
Vi and Cait had great romantic chemistry. It actually worked on a character motivation level.
I've never played League in my life, didn't even realize there was a shred of story in those games, but I was hooked after ep 1. Seeing Vander get to fight was fricking rad as well. That whole scene in 3 was bad ass.
>what it did to my college roommate, but that's another story
What did it do to your room mate
Not him but knowing what little I do about League it probably took over his life. It's likely all he did.
Literally me
I played League an average of 10 hours a day, maybe 12 on a weekend
Somehow I fricking graduated and didn’t drop out
That was me and Call Of Duty 4 back in the day, and same, it's a fricking miracle I even got a job at the time.
you're me except i did drop out. trying to get it all back together but it's still hard to not waste all my free time gaming. swear to christ if i ever have kids i'm moderating the frick out of gaming time
Bingo.
gotta be real all of those shots of Jinx's pits and sideboob made me hornier than most anime fanservice i can remember
They're magnificent.
>that tiny little bit of sideboob on the sides
that's the stuff mate
Gotta love the French
they know what the frick they were doing and god bless them
Okay! I'll watch it again after I play Cyberpunk for too long this morning after work. Stop twisting my arm.
you are a pedophile
she's an adult, groomer
Because it's fricking pure kino?
I explained everything in the arcane thread the other day, and I'm not doing it again
>not storing your posts in notpad, ready to be copy pasted
ngmi
>Weebs and leaguetrannies still seething about Arcane to this day
Hah!
The animation is groundbreaking.
The story is also not garbage unlike everything else in current year.
there was a story?
Reminder:
Vander was dope.
Still is
My friend was telling me a little about that, which got me even more hype.
you've got old
What the frick kind of aesthetic is that for fantasy? Fricking atrocious.
>The greatest piece of animation ever made looks atrocious dude!
>The greatest piece of animation ever
This is a genuinely mentally ill thing to believe.
the low effort moba bought by chinks style
It's weird because I'm open to and appreciative to so many parallel strains of culture and aesthetics but there are so many large swaths of things that have been running along since the 2000s, like certain steampunky / gamery / dark carnival / deviantart / punk-derived / folk-punk / mainstream gamer / superhero currents of culture that I think are just beyond the pale. and I feel so forgiving and accepting these days about culture and other aesthetic sensibilities usually. but then I encounter this stuff and almost get this notion / impulse to assume that not only are these people the lowest of the low sensibilities-wise (side-cut types, folk-punk, woke, polycule, superhero-fan etc) but that they're probably so ugly aesthetically because they're bad PEOPLE. and that can't be fair. plenty of normal people - most of them - have moribund taste as far as schlock mainstream culture.
Whew.
>Councilor Talis, there are too many of them. What are we going to do?
The Batfleck scene with Jace where he's shirtless and working with a hammer was cool as frick. Those frogs have style.
This kino singlehandedly redeemed the French nation in my eyes. It inspired me to look up things about Napoleon and watch Waterloo (another kino)
>That pic
Thanks Anon I have a lot of Arcane memes saved up from the old /ag/
captcha:GG
I'm a fan.
>The story is not finished and the plot is somewhat predictable.
why are you under the impression that because a story isn't finished it is somehow inherently bad?
Anyone have some sideboob shots from that scene when she’s messing around building shit in her lab? I remember some really sexy shots
This?
I can't rewatch it too many times because ep3 makes me emotional
Frickin A.
That’s pretty good but there is one in particular where she’s like leaning back in a chair or something and her pits are exposed and there’s a bit of booba spilling out the side
You're talking about one of the poster shots I think. It's used a lot. She looks great in it.
This?
There's a very good chance it will be. It was written before season 1 was aired so the script was not affected by moronic fans begging for things
pure fricking kino, also
>(3)
anon please
Other one is just an image of her drawing on blueprints
>0:07
WHEW
The French have some very unique animators
It’ll be a fricking miracle if the next season is anywhere close to this one.
I am worried about that. Season 1 was so good, what if they frick it up.
Just rewatch the show you fricking coomers.
I intend to.
>I'm le hecking INSANE and whacky I'm crAaAzZyy
The show is pretty good but the jinx/harlequin stuff is mega cringe
I'd have thought the same, but the quality of the animation let's you actually see the mental illness in her eyes. I had a schizophrenic brother, and I the fact that they can show that they're able to convey it so well was impressive.
>masterpeace
esl thread
fully
Cope, weeb
Tried watching this and the number one thing that stuck out to me was that it's very obviously made for children. The writing feels like it was taken from Avatar the Last Airbender or an episode of Teen Titans. Very simple, uninspired, very hard to relate to if you're not a teenager or preteen. Hell, even when I was a teenager this sort of angsty coming of age shit made me roll my eyes. I suppose the animation is nice but all the forced diversity kind of takes away from the aesthetic appeal of the show. The voice acting is really bad too. It's extremely dissonant when they show this butch lesbian character in prison trying to frame it like she's unbelievably tough and then she speaks and sounds like a 14 year old girl going through puberty.
This entire paragraph feels like a bullet point you use for films/series you don't like. You just insert the name and switch around a few things. Your own b***h pasta.
compare it to legend of korra and legend of korra is a more mature and intelligent show. legend of korra is widely considered absolute garbage for morons. arcane has great animation and pacing, nothing else. strip away that and it's a show for especially stupid children. (also known as millennials.)
most animes are better than arcane, but theres simply no way on earth TLOK is better than Arcane. Can't believe I'm saying this but Vi has more depth and nuance in 9 episodes than Korra in 4 seasons
there's no depth or nuance to any of the characters in arcane, the writers themselves even say shit like they had no idea what was happening in a scene they wrote and what came out of it was 100% in the animators just asspulling emotional moments etc. you're literally falling for the equivalent of seeing a AI generated image (the animators making great animation) and filling in the blanks (thus there must be complexity/nuance/emotion/etc., in it, even though there isn't). it's like the halo effect, where you see a good-looking person, or someone else you like, you see them doing something you don't like, and you interpret what you're seeing as them actually doing something you do like.
lots of shows are like this now. I'm so sick of reading posts about the hidden depth and nuance in media where there literally is none and the creators themselves will tell you that up-front but people still refuse to believe it. it reminds me a lot of the people who always pop up to pretend that "diversity" isn't explicitly pushed in contemporary western media, even though they literally tell you that they're doing it. some of you just refuse to listen no matter the evidence.
is there going to be a new season? seems like forever ago
Maybe late 2024 is what they're saying.
>Masterpiece
Everyone wants to frick the post pubescent blue haired prostitute.
Simple as.
Yes and?
>most animes are better than arcane
lmao like what? Arcane is better than every anime I've seen and most anime is complete shit. Name five anime better than Arcane
FMAB, Cowboy Bebop, AOT, Steins Gate, and HxH. Take that for data. These shows are all better in terms of music, animation, voice acting, character development, and story writing. And don't forget, all of these shows surpassed Arcane at a fraction of the cost so imagine if they had the same budget.
>FMAB
Never seen this but I plan to
>Cowboy Bebop
Overrated garbage
>AOT
Ten years at least!
>Steins Gate
Fun show but nowhere near the level of Arcane. Very overrated in general but I did enjoy Steins;Gate 0. Original show was extremely boring and took far too long to begin the plot
>HxH
Never seen it but it looks gay as frick, meant for little moronic children
>These shows are all better in terms of music, animation
LMFAO call me when Steins;Gate animates this one buddy
>Cowboy Bebop
Overrated garbage
Not that guy but they're absolutely on par in my opinion. From artsyle to story to characters and voice acting for the dub. Dubs nowadays have gone backwards in a lot of ways, particularly the female voice acting. Compare Fay or Annie to anyone nowadays and it's night and day. That's why I mostly watched subbed.
I only saw the first episode but it seemed very dated, I was not impressed at all. Should I keep watching?
I'm telling you, give it to ep 5(This is to introduce all of the crew of the Bebop)and if you don't think it's quality by them, drop it. I personally think it's a flawed masterpiece.
Alright I will do that, thanks for the advice
No problem, anon.
flawed masterpiece what does this even mean???
That I think it's a masterpiece but if I'm forced to be critical of it some might not like the eps considered filler like Toys In The Attic or Sympathy For The Devil, but I personally think those are some of the best stories. Nothing is perfect, and if you can't be critical of the things you love you'll never be able to have a real conversation about them.
Bebop is boring episodic shit and pure style over substance. It doesn't compare to FMA and especially Steins;Gate.
I disagree.
have a nice day
Thanks for that low iq response you cum gargling homosexual.
It isn't. Only trannies who want to waifugay over some 3/10 dyke pretend this show was any good.
every few months a large portion of the audience randomly decides that a product is the next best thing. Until it ends and vanishes.
You see all the times and it has no basic in logic or quality.
It probably depends on starvation for quality content and alienation cused by modern entertainment going out of its way to not cater to normal people
has an annoying crack prostitute prancing about
It's made by sóyboys for sóyboys. What's so hard to understand?
>The story is not finished
thats the point
it starts with a civil war and ends with one, there is no solution
sins of the father and the like
i liked the ending, it builds up to something and ends with a bang, and can both work as a stand alone show and if a second season is made it has a strong fundation to pick up from
its the first 3 episodes that are rushed, its missing 1 or 2 more in the middle
Any time Jinx is not onscreen I feel like the creators are wasting my time, she 100% carries the whole show.
Anime for people who don't watch anime.
>not a japanese animation
>MAL
God tier animation
Mid tier plot
Trash/anime tier writing
I got bored pretty quickly. Pretty sure I didn't finish a single season of it.
She a cut tho, but I'm not enough of a coomer for that to carry
Who the frick considers this zoomer slop a masterpiece
Two discord trannies from /trek/ who are responsible for making these threads.
Why should it be bad just because its predictable lmao internet people are the biggest losers but think they are experts in everything
Wrong board
its woke, but its literally the best possible creation that could ever be made, that is also woke, its a fantastic 8/10 show with 11/10 animation. Needs more hotties though, the hapa lesbian wasn't enough, my only real complaint, needs more breasts.
Friendly reminder that Jinx had Electra complex and 100% wanted to frick Silco
>Electra Complex is the female version of the Oedipus complex. It involves a girl, who becomes subconsciously sexually attached to her father and increasingly hostile toward her mother.
>The girl has psychosexual competition with her mother for possession of her father.
>The mother in this case is Sevika
>Jinx gets extremely defensive and upset when Silco said that Sevika will clean up the mess. Jinx is competing with Sevika for his favor
>When Jinx hatches the plan on how to win over his favor, there are sexually charged imagery , close up of her buttocks while she grabs the grenade and the explosion that follows (ejaculation)
>When Silco confronts Jinx, the lyrics to the song she is listening to has strong sexual innuendos. (Wanna join me? Come and play)
>She then follows it up by seductively walking up to Silco before embracing him
>Jinx and Silcos relationship is heavily inspired by Leon the Professional.
>Dangerous man become adoptive father for troubled girl who lusts after him
>Both are French studios that love this trope
>Both show and movie end with a Sting song
Wew
trannies like this gay are the reason arcane threads got purged from every single board on this garbage website
>When Jinx hatches the plan on how to win over his favor, there are sexually charged imagery, close up of her buttocks while she grabs the grenade and the explosion that follows (ejaculation)
>OMG it caters to my moronic fetish what a goat show 11/10 accross the board bravo vince
>>She then follows it up by seductively walking up to Silco before embracing him
Does anyone have the Jinx Vi Silco edits where shes like
>I frick my dad Sis
It always makes me laugh
>Jinx trying anal for the first time with Silco
Because zoomers have only experienced slop growing up and have no frame of reference for what makes a show good. They simply consoom
Give her warmth.
Give her safety.
Protect her.
>Any top 25 MAL literally mogs this show
That is literally the target audience for netflix nonnime
Edgerunners > Arcane
It is known.
The power of low expectations being amplified when the product is actually kind of okay. The show had everything going against it:
>vidya adaptation in a time when vidya adaptations were poison
>netflix
>the poster has multiple women with dyed "danger" hair making people wary
But the story was subversive in the good way, the characters were fine, and the animation quality was great
Anyone else find this show very hard to follow? Like I was 4 episodes in and still didn't know anyones name or what was going on. Am I the only one?
