Now that Luffi's fruit awakened we just so happen to find out that there is this god-like being who's pulling all the strings behind the curtain and can pulverize whole countries on a whim. Also shortly after the Kaidou fight they face another foe who also now just so happens to have awakaned his fruit powers and can go toe to toe with god-mode Luffi (if only for a short while, but still). I would put my money on Oda now having tons of old jobbers turn up with conveniently awakened powers so that Luffi still has to face challenges, it's gonna be ret-con heaven.

OPM started out as a parody where the joke was that Saitama was so strong he got bored of fighting powerlevel-monologuers who took themselves too seriously. One piece is not episodic it has a linear plot from ch1 to now. It's about this dude that wants to be the pirate king and follow the steps of Gold D. Roger, and taking on his challange "if you want to become the pirate king like me, find the one piece". We don't know yet what the one piece is nor why is it called like that. The story has a structure of Luffy (the protagonist) going in various islands and exploring the world, in those various islands stuff happens and he lands alwas into problems, trying to solve the situation that afflicts some people living there, maybe because there are bad pirates, or the marines. He saves the day and often those people become their crew members. Well as the story progresses, more of the government structure and pirate hierarchy is show, since he becomes stronger and every pirate has the same goal of finding the one piece, he has to fight stronger foes, and has to deal with the government too because they want the pirates dead and he messes with their business saving people that he shouldn't
i mostly liked the animation but the sound effects were complete ass, it's like someone with a looney toons sound board was just slapping the same few sounds in there over and over

Oh okay that makes sense kind of. One Piece is a weird anime. I do enjoy how creative the fights are and it uses very interesting character design that plays with perspective. But sometimes it goes a little zany with its use of powers.

I know, but I heard the intention was to have Uta appear in the manga. The movie events might not be canon to the manga, but it took an immense amount of power, Admirals and crews to stop Tot Musica.
