Can they be salvaged?

Feige allegedly really wants to try and make them work.

Why? He didn't even adapt them properly, they're basically his OCs and not something Jack Kirby would've done

Lol it was supposed to show how to make inhumans to Perlmutter.

    Why bother?
it was the first rotten MCU movie, the movie bombed, none of the characters became liked by the public and it was instantly forgotten after NWH released a month later.
Movies that bomb don't get sequels for a reason, just pretend it never happened.

Eh, I've seen love for Robb, Jolie, Saltburn and his black deaf gf.

No, they need to move on and introduce even more pointless identical human "subspecies" that look like humans but with random superpowers and mutations, because 4 ins't enough

      >4 isn't enough
Let's see mutants, inhumans and eternals.
      What's number 4?

The movie made them unlikeable and killed off most of the prominent ones. What would they even do with a sequel?

If the rumors are true, that they're going to continue it as an animated series, using the success of X-Men 97 as a template, then they may be saved. The characters are spared both the embarassment of another theatrical flop, as well as the embarassment of never being acknowledged again, and if the show works as hoped, they can appear in Avengers movies.

Use Sersi and Black Knight as auxiliary Avengers

The ones in space can have cameos in GotG stuff and combine into Uni-Mind

    Ignore anyone else

Yeah bit sersi is in space, she got kidnapped by a celestial and black knight will appear in 2026, I don't think marvel is gonna do 90s avengers in the MCU but they should the team would be: Captain America, Black Knight, Sersi, Crystal, Hercules, Black Widow and Vision

The only reason anyone ever gave a shit about the Eternals is because Jack Kirby created them.
There's genuinely nothing else noteworthy about them.

      Anonymous

there are precisely three notable things about the Eternals
      >Jack Kirby
      >that time Neil Gaiman made Sprite the villain
      >that time Kieron Gillen made Eternals resurrection kill random people on earth and then forced his cancelled series into an X-Men event

How are they gonna fit in the MCU? Are they really going to nerf them that all 13 or whatever just get rekt every time and is equivalent to one other MCU hero?

      Anonymous

Most eternals are weak as frick, the only truly powerful one committed suicide

        Anonymous

It's not really that they're weak, it's just that their powersets are very specifically designed to counter Deviants and nothing else.

You don't ask a guy that specializes in killing silverfish to go kill a bear with glue traps and poison bug bait.

No, the characters are literal nobodies and they have no interesting stories. There's nothing you can even do with them because they're empty bland shells

Putting aside the fact that there's too many characters and the fact that they're all really generic looking AND the fact that the first one kinda flopped?
There's just no way to make "Characters could've helped during Infinity Saga but didn't because reasons" work. You saw this with Captain Marvel as well.

I think Eternals was a prety good movie with a big story to tell and there was adaption problems (Kro) thus many character didn't get their time to shine.
Ajak and Phastos should act more like the mother and father of the team
Sersi and Ikaris are perfect as protagonists
Thena and Giglamesh are good as the Hulks of the team
Kingo, Sprite, Makkari and Druig are just fun as secondary characters to deflate tension or create it.
poor Kro pulled the short straw. he should've been this Magneto/Caesar character fighting to evolve and liberate his deviant race as revenge for their fodder role in the Celestial master plan.
that's what any sequel should be about, Kro returning due to absorbing Gilga's cosmic energy and becoming a pseudo eternal while the other try to save Seris and co from Arishem
