They self destructed their own shit with DEI and now have to rely on the Far East to save their asses. WB don't deserve saving.

They also want the DEI for the VA cast and all people involved in the making of those anime. Is it possible? who should they talk to? the japanese director or japanese entertainment minister maybe?

are they wrong though? If they had a show like batman the animated series but like an anime with proper arcs that'd be sick

With the hot Marvel just got from the new X-Men show, they have now completely obliterated DC on all fronts. Comics, cartoons and movies. Actually I guess DC/wb has tv shows still but not for long with zazzy In charge.

considering how easily the cyberpunk netflix anime duped normalgays into buying a broken year old game, i'd say it's the smartest creative decision they've made in a while

Anime isn't popular because of its art style.
It's popular because they tell edgy stories without being limited by budget, with plenty of violent action scenes and constant exposition that makes it impossible to be confused as to what's going on. It's the perfect content for the manchild who wants something more impactful than capeshit.
Americans are morons though and still associate cartoons=children's entertainment so won't put the needlessly edgy shit in there.
But Cyberpunk indicates that netflix at least somewhat gets it.

    >Dropping western animation
    >Investing more heavily in anime
Seems to me they're at least trying to save themselves right now.
That said, these large companies are still unwilling or unable to fully address the root of the problems they're having. Until they stop taking half measures against the cancer, they do not have a good prognosis. Animation is just one department, and they're not completely gutting all production stateside, so they'll probably still have the same people making the same dumb creative decisions.

This is like a desperate "dry run" if they think they can run RWBY now that Rooster Teeth officially filed for bankruptcy. This is so gonna blow up in and of themselves that RWBY would be pretty much dead after. Still, people would find a way to keep that show afloat, WB or no WB.

Exactly, which is why they're not really trying to save anything. Anime isn't popular because of the nip animation style, it's popular because it's telling the kind of stories people want to enjoy, remembers that actually people *do* like to see attractive people doing suggestive things, and largely leaves The Message out of it.

Does anyone really believe DC is ready to do those things? Of course not, so what they produce will be anime in the same way a veggie burger is beef.

The Japanese made American cartoons in the 80s and 90s, so it's not a new concept. Just look at the people who don't think of GI Joe, Transformers, and Thundercats as animes.

The problem is wokeness now that Larry Fink is fricking ruining the Japanese market now.

Is it just DC shit? In which case I don’t care, but if they wanted to do Monsterverse, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Dune, Matrix, or even a Willy Wonka anime, I’d be a little bit more curious.

There's one for Lord of the Rings coming out called The War of the Rohirrim. I was disappointed that animated anthologies didn't become a thing after The Animatrix.

My Hero Academia isn't a parody. It doesn't even pretend to be a parody. It's just a japanese take on the genre, with all the tropes of popular anime like dbz and Naruto.
One Punch Man was supposed to be a parody of the genre but is actually just a worse version of MHA

absolutely this, the west or the western ideals have already slithered their ways into modern anime.
as an example, the Dosanko Gal wa Namara Menkoi manga had a decent amount of fanservice but the anime removed almost all of it
