Shawshank Redemption is way more overrated than any of those. Literal schmaltzy Lifetime movie-tier shit that people somehow think is the greatest film of all time.
If you are not able to recognize that rear window is just as highly rated as it deserves to be your opinion is irrelevant anyway, so who even cares that you are wrong? You're no good to anybody, kid.
I can't agree with Stalker, Rear Window, Don't Look Now, Vertigo, or Deep Red.
Because I haven't heard of them. They can't be overrated if I've never even heard of them.
Citizen Kane is VERY overrated, I had this pseudo intellectual douche stoner try and tell me it's good because you would still know what was happening with no audio.
Parasite is kind of overrated.
Apocalypse now is probably overrated, but less so by virtue of being pretty good.
Still never seen 2001 but I expect to be disappointed.
you need to add clockwork orange, because i was seething at how mind-numbingly boring it was. i had always heard how great of a film it is, and i kept waiting for something to really HAPPEN. its so dry and boring in its delivery too. i dont give a frick what sort of "philosophical questions" it raises, it was an absolutely dogshit story and experience to sit through. asking those same questions and having a conversation with me is SO much more engaging than sitting through that dreck.
frick that film.
complete waste of time.
That, and There Will Be Blood. Whenever there is a best movies ever list, there's always exactly two movies from after 2000 and it's exactly those two.

Because they're both better than your favorite movie
>2001 is 7/10, but pure sovl experience. >Stalker is 7/10, and not really overrated. >Apocalypse Now is 8/10, and one of the best war films ever. >Rear Window is 8/10, and you got filtered. >Don't Look Now is 6/10, and overrated. >Parasite is 7/10, and only overrated by <30 year old koreaboos. >Come and See is 7/10, and only overrated because people think it's le heckin crazy. >Vertigo is 9/10, and probably Hitchwieners best. >Deep Red is the only one I haven't seen so idk, looks stupid as hell though. >Blade Runner is 7/10, and one of the best detective movies ever, so not overrated. >Citizen Kane is 6/10, but for the 30s it revolutionized film as the first real drama epic so it deserves the praise it gets IMO.
I like most of Alfred's stuff, but did not care for that one, yet it's the one everybody puts on their list. Where's the love for Dial M For Murder? I think that one's my favorite.
Blade Runner belongs on that list. The visuals, music and atmosphere are fantastic but the writing, acting, action, and dialogue suck. There's also barely and mystery or detective work in what is supposed to be a detective noir.
i'm trans btw. not sure if that matters!
Add Alien and the Good the Bad The Ugly and i agree
Take off Deep Red and Apocalypse Now then I actually agree.
Where’s fight club and seven
where's Chinatown?
You are a homosexual for suggesting it can be overrated
Shawshank Redemption is way more overrated than any of those. Literal schmaltzy Lifetime movie-tier shit that people somehow think is the greatest film of all time.
It’s not /film/ core so no it’s not very overrated
Frick you. I love Stalker.
Never seen a single one of those old movies that made boomers piss themselves and it looks like I’m now confirmed vindicated
>deep red
Very random addition.
Not even the best Sargento film but I digress.
If you are not able to recognize that rear window is just as highly rated as it deserves to be your opinion is irrelevant anyway, so who even cares that you are wrong? You're no good to anybody, kid.
Psycho is his only good film
And another dumb opinion.
Remove apocalypse now from that list and then I'll agree

Did you start watching movies a few weeks ago? Welcome to Cinemaphile.
2001 is like an opera with no singing, you're just supposed to take in the music and think about it on non-plot-related terms.
>mfw
It's missing blue velvet, lost highway, mulholland doctor and blade runner 2049
>All agree
what the frick you think this is homie?! reddit?
Who in the frick even talks about Deep Red?
I saw it in theaters a couples weeks back. Absolutely kino soundtrack
Google “best argento films” and 95% of them will have it at #1
Argento is unfortunately not on the same level of popularity as some of those other directors, and also Suspiria and Tenebre are better than Deep Red.
I’m throwing hands if someone calls either of those overrated.
Only now I realize that "Deep Red" is actually Profondo Rosso. Never heard the title Deep Red before.
I thought that would be Suspirio or Inferno for contrarians
I like the one with Daft Punk music
kino
You’re forgetting every single Martin Scorsese movie except Taxi Driver.
Holy shit you are right i missed Taxi Driver
That's the opposite of what he said.
Blade Runner is really boring.
Replace Rear Window with Casablanca and Parasite with Everything Everywhere and you've got a decent list.
>Deep Red
AAAAHHHH SAVE ME GIALLOMAN

I'm with you on that. I love the book, love Kubrick, hate that movie
Add in every 80's movie that gets it's ass licked any time it's brought up and every found footage dogshit horror movie made after 2004.
>Citizen Kane (1939)
any overrated movie list is objectively wrong if it doesn't include mulholland drive.
That, and There Will Be Blood. Whenever there is a best movies ever list, there's always exactly two movies from after 2000 and it's exactly those two.
Because they're both better than your favorite movie
link?
>A space Odyssey
>vertigo
>citizen Kane
>rear window
>not a single tarantino movie
Kys
Needs Pulp Fiction for sure.
No absolutely not. This is a list of great films that filter the easily bored and/or mildly moronic.
Apart from Parasite, that one's kind of overrated.
>2001 is 7/10, but pure sovl experience.

If you think 2001 is a 7/10, what is a 10/10 to you?
only with Vertigo, hated that movie
I like most of Alfred's stuff, but did not care for that one, yet it's the one everybody puts on their list. Where's the love for Dial M For Murder? I think that one's my favorite.

Agreed on all of them minus Vertigo
Vertigo, 2001, Apocalypse Now can't be overrated because they comprise the peak of film. It's not like Parasite or some random Oscar bullshit.
