Can we finally admit Jean, Beast, Iceman, Nightcrawler, Mystique, Pyro and Toad were all done as well as Wolverine, Xavier and Magneto were in the original trilogy?
The only ones they truly dropped the ball with were Cyclops and Rogue. Storm, Colossus and Kitty were in the middle ground.

Nightcrawler's whole creation was a fun loving swashbuckler and they made him emo so no
Mystique they also made just a sexy killer and not the psycho b***h we know and love
>not the psycho b***h
Jlaw is pretty fricking-
>we know and love
good at dropping the ball.
Romijn was fricking perfect though frick you.
we rarely see the religious side of him these days so it was nice then
toad and mystique for sure
toad being a kickboxer who can 2v1 jean and cyclops really shows what super-jumping and super-acrobatics would be in a fight, something the comics never did
mystique being able to beat anyone using only her legs while being effectively naked sure makes it hard to focus on the action
Yeah why was rogue such a wet towel emo girl? They should have either made them all high schoolers like in evo or all college and up age.
>Yeah why was rogue such a wet towel emo girl?
She was a cross between Rogue, Kitty and Jubilee.
But all three of those girls are traditionally characterised as peppy, energetic and outspoken...
Kitty could get pretty emo at times, especially in her origin story.
Iceman wasn't well done. He was nothing like Iceman.
>can we
can (You) finally have a nice day for using a shitty template?
>Jean
She was fine. Dark Phoenix was pretty poorly adapted.
>Beast
I believe we've always maintained that casting Fraiser as Beast is one of the best decisions in the history of cape movies.
>Iceman
Again, fine. Pretty boring overall as a character, but not bad.
>Nightcrawler
Good. Great.
>Mystique
Different, but good. Hot. Didn't really ever have any agency of her own and was basically a glorified minion for Magneto, but she gave me a boner and some weird kinks growing up so that's okay.
>Pyro
Whatever.
>Toad
Whatever.
>Cyclops, Rogue, Storm
Defo ball dropped.
>Colossus and Kitty
Defo mid ground.
Colossus and Kitty were in the movies? Frick my mind is going. I felt like that Pyro kid was gonna do something but nah. Honestly was there any of the “kids” interesting in this? It’s felt very dry from what I remember, not dark and serious but not the quipy romps that every single modern marvel movie exists as
I think the X-Men as a unit kind of suffered from the over-focus on Wolverine and, to a lesser extent, Magneto and Professor X. Barely any of the characters who weren't those three got any real focus of character growth.
People are gonna be crazy when they make a new team movie and it’s not Xavier or Wolverine focused just with different actors. And the main ones aren’t all teenagers. I can see how the average audience sees that way as the right way.
You should at least remember Colossus and Kitty since they were included in Last Stand for the sole purpose of doing that fricking meme.
The only character well done was Beast and that was just because of Grammers casting. Hoult Beast was fricking awful and barley felt like him and do not even try me on Nightcrawler homie.
what's about Sabretooth? :^)
Best mutant in the whole saga right there
I always laughed when he popped his quills in that movie as if they were going to do shit against whoever he was facing off against. Almost as funny as his only real instance of registering as a threat to someone being when he hugged that doctor to death.
Wtf movie rogue looks like gypsy rose blanchard ass.
They really dropped the ball on movie Rogue. She went from a bombastic southern powerhouse to a boring shrinking violet who mostly just existed to get kidnapped and scream for Wolverine.
Yeah she’s a badass crazy redneck who would be pretty loose if it weren’t for her powers, movie version was a completely different character
>who would be pretty loose if it weren’t for her powers,
my interpretation was always that her powers are precisely why she's such a big, flirtatious bawd/tease. Not being able to touch people means she's constantly bubbling with pent-up sexual tension. She probably jerk offs more than every other X-Girl combined.
yeah maybe that’s the better reading, you just kinda get the vibe that she’d be up for if it weren’t for her powers…especially compared to her movie counterpart who seemed pretty weak and chaste.
>her movie counterpart who seemed pretty weak and chaste
She had her moments of bawdtiness.
Wanting to make out with your hot boyfriend after not being able to touch him for the entirety of your relationship isn't what I'd call bawdtiness
She didn't even ask him to turn around, that tramp.
Are these the movies directed by boy lover extraordinare Bryan Singer?
>All three movies in the original trilogy were directed by someone who would eventually be outed as a sexual predator
what were they ask Bryan Singer to recommended his replacement or something?
It was just a yes air no question
I remember a joke from that show Difficult People where they ask their twink coworker if he’s going to get choked out at a Bryan Singer pool party and I’m pretty sure it was all before everything came out. They definitely knew it during the making of these movies.
Kinda funny that studios back then were cool with an openly gay twink lover helming their projects. He must have really read as a straight man in public.
He did, never realized he was gay at all. These days someone with his proclivities would be a RuPaul-esque character and hired at least partially because they acted like that.
Gambit was pretty good despite being in the wrong time period.
Yeah he was fine. I always forget he was only ever in like flashbacks in the wolverine origin movie
>original trilogy
"Original trilogy" implies a second trilogy. What you gettin' at with this homie?
And how the frick in any way did their horrid portrayal of Storm give her a "middle" ranking to you?
I would say Wolverine was only done well in his last solo movie and half in the first X-Men movie. The moment he turned into a full fledged hero, he lost his purpose. And Wolverine in the X-Men without a capable and well-written Cyclops is a Wolverine flawed to eventually be a leader, and he is never supposed to be a leader, but a loose canon.
