Its also known that the writer of the book got his inspiration from Stalker and came up with a bullshit story about him in the woods. This movie is basically a redditor'd zoomer version of Stalker.
Did you like his new one Men?
It was right proper surreal or some shit, but I didnt really get where it was going outside of "yes all men".
Tho I give full credit to creative repeat use of the hand for max recoil-in-creep/disgust factor.
I think the movie was more making a point on a specific type of male fixation. Like she was seeing her husband's qualities in everyone. Not his best, but still was a fun watch. What do you think of Devs?
>What do you think of Devs?
Been a while but I dont remember being too impressed. The scifi was decent enough to remain immersed, but it felt unnecessarily slow. I liked what the other anon said about it including a bunch of what should have been deleted scenes.
It reminded me a lot of Asimov's short story about a time viewer.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dead_Past
And I think Asimov's story was more concise and dealt with the concept better - even if the science is older.
alex galrand is a hack that can only film muddled retellings of other people's ideas, and in this case he's adapting a book by a hack that can only write muddled retellings of other people's ideas, so what you're seeing is at least two degrees of separation away from anything interesting. a xerox of a xerox.
Why do people buy the rights to a book and then hire some israelite to write a completely unrelated screenplay that has absolutely nothing to do with the source material?
I loved the visuals in this. I think it was just held back by mediocre writing. Probably ironically or unironically needed more artgays and to try less hard.
Most of the movie was pretty sloppy but the alien was cool as shit. Her running from it then it already being in the next room was genuinely terrifying.
>Cinemaphile complains there isn't more cosmic horror >Certified cosmic horror kino gets made >2deep4/tv/
Literally what did Cinemaphile mean by this? Needed more tentacles?
I assume it was supposed to be 3d but I haven't watched the featurette on the story origin. A lot of the movie just seems literally unfinished. Like all the cancer stuff seems kinda blank like it wasn't really supposed to look like that and was gonna have all this 3d rendering stuff done to it. I think the 3d got yanked and instead of halting production they basically forced it through.
why do you say that?
>op doesn't like interpretive dance battles
it was not a good movie regardless of the poor reveal
is this movie known or notable for anything other than the bear scene
Its also known that the writer of the book got his inspiration from Stalker and came up with a bullshit story about him in the woods. This movie is basically a redditor'd zoomer version of Stalker.
The pool scene
the blacked scene
>Can we finally admit the movie was pretty lame?
ftfy
I liked it.
That was actually the best part. Such a shit movie I had to stop myself switching it off several times.
No, I really liked it. It was legitimately unsettling the first time I watched.
Good soundtrack.
Helped by Geoff Barrow from Portishead.
Trippy.
>Portishead
God I am so glad people no longer consider turntables cool
pure fricking kino
>Can we finally admit
Cinemaphile dislikes this movie since it came out, because it stars only women.
Well it was incredibly stupid that in the movie they specifically decided to use an only woman team because ??????
Wasn't it because they ran out of men to send because all the previous men squads never returned
Who cares?
It doesnt have anything to do with the story.
>character says the movie title then dies
What was its problem?
It wanted to understand
Some kind of weird alien clone of Natalie Portman.
wanted to twerk
It didn't understand why Kane killed himself
You gotta read the book
sound design and score really elevated this to a surprisingly kino level for me. would love to see it in a theater.
It was a good reveal for a very good movie.
I like Alex Garland, so I liked it.
Ex Machina mind.
she is such a hottie but I hear she was shit in devs (which I have heard mixed reviews of)
devs is a mediocre two hour movie that someone edited into a tv show by stuffing five hours worth of deleted scenes in the middle
Did you like his new one Men?
It was right proper surreal or some shit, but I didnt really get where it was going outside of "yes all men".

>Did you like his new one Men
I haven't seen that yet.
with that kind of explosion she would get parts of the gun on her face. It make no sense
Thats a sexy suit she's wesring

I'm gonna tear up the dancefloor dude check it out

>alex garland
For me, it's Sunshine.
exactly - because alex garland should not be directing
Ex Machina and Annihilation were pretty good though. He basically directed Dredd too.
Why do people buy the rights to a book and then hire some israelite to write a completely unrelated screenplay that has absolutely nothing to do with the source material?
You gotta admit the visuals are excellent. I don't really remember much of the story anyway
I loved the visuals in this. I think it was just held back by mediocre writing. Probably ironically or unironically needed more artgays and to try less hard.
Had some interesting ideas and was pretty , but the movie and the alien reveal were kinda lame
I read the book and the film was superior in every way. The film was also trash.
Most of the movie was pretty sloppy but the alien was cool as shit. Her running from it then it already being in the next room was genuinely terrifying.

And they probably love Bird Box
No, we can't
>AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH MY SHADOW IS TRYING TO KILL ME IM GOING INSANE!!
yes, chud. you would go insane if your shadow tried to kill you.
I already killed my shadow homosexual

I enjoyed them randomly cutting to Portman getting blacked throughout the movie, really added a lot
Miscegenation propaganda aside, what was this purpose of this?
The character in the book had marital problems and it was thematically relevant. They made it blacked porn in the adaptation
>dredd - unnecessary blacked scene
>annihilation - unnecessary blacked scene
>men - white woman has a black husband
frick Garland and his shitty propaganda films.
This didn't actually happen... right?
Yes it did
Did you not watch the moobie?
Even when the bear was stalking them it cut to her getting dicked
Were you the incel in the brown hoodie muttering to himself in my theater the whole time? My girlfriend was worried you would start shooting.
Yes. I had skittles. And got killed by a Mexican israelite.
>sigh
Somehow, we're the aliens.
Spoopy.
The gags were really sexy
yeah but it's still good overall
