Legendary Godzilla is terrible. it's all focused around Hollywood actors. Worst of all it's all CGI. IF i wanted to watch a cartoon monkey and lizard fight for 3 hours I would play Rampage or watch cartoons.
I loved 2014 when it first came out but it doesn't hold up to skull island and the godzilla-kong entrees. I didn't enjoy monarch either since that was inspired by 2014's atmosphere. Shit like and the action made gxk an entertaining spectacle. The plot is shallow but the kaiju stuff is so much richer than 2014, which is what everyone watches these movies for. I'm glad it's taking the showa route of becoming more silly over time
Also godzilla's design and atomic breath were horrible in 2014. Luckily they were fixed in KoTM

G Minus One is the grounded, realistic compelling Godzilla movie with characters we invest in, that Edwards utterly failed to achieve. No more Garethslop.
GVK/GXK may not be believable, but they go all the fricking way.

That wasn't the reason for the slop. Legendary was sold to the Chinese after Godzilla was released and the tone immediately changed with the next MonsterVerse movie, Skull Island. It's been downhill ever since.
