Just because you like the adaptation doesn't mean it respects the source material. I like Starship troopers and The Shining, both take liberties with their source material(which I also enjoy), I can acknowledge they're not faithful while liking both the original authors and the directors/screenwriters work.

Very character dependent. If you mean caring about the comic characters, a lot of them are huge departures- for example Vigilante has nothing from the comic character but the name and costume. If you mean keeping an internally consistent characterization for each character within his movies, see Drax's progressive moronation.

Have we seen any evidence of this? Flash seems to have been dictated 100% in accordance with exec's constantly changing whims. I don't blame him or think anyone else could have done better but he still chose to be in this position rather than tell them to frick off and do his own thing. Not to mention he jumped at the chance to return to GotG after Disney stabbed him in the back.

I can't get worse than Snyders take. The guy read Alan Moore and got the modern gods brain bug. Works great in original stories and what it's but not to represent characters as they are. WW1 and Aquaman were the only two movies that were even close. Gunns DC works so far use the big dumb guy serious woman trope still but they're heaps better than the shit show that was JL and WW84
