Can you recommend me movies that represent real American culture? Movies that scream America, country America, American dream shit. Especially the older ones.
I am not American, I just want to understand a little bit of the American imaginary

If I was a fed, I would’ve told him to Quadruple my annual salary, ask for a few other minor perks, and in return, I’d work for him and help him protect his assets against Fed frickery. He would’ve saved millions and stayed out of prison for a few hundred thousand and some paid vacations each year.

Just to name a few and only from a particular point of view, my design. A massive task. IMHO you need more than a single movie, maybe more like half a hundred. The best thing about America is (unironically) it's diversity and decentralized basic system. Progressive types hate this because it's received wisdom that bigger and more centralized = better but America has proven that false.
I would avoid anything that's trying to do a piss-take. While that is a very common American export and self-deprecating view of itself, it's not going to be helpful to you unless that is specifically the sub-type you want to explore. Like, a black comedy wanting to explore the absurdity of generational suburban existence.
Also, be aware that understanding America requires that you become a bit American yourself. This is why China sucks so bad at understanding America. It's intentional since liberal forces are very hard to contain (both within the individual and society). Chances are if you're already here you are already on this trip, though, so good luck. Everything in moderation. Try not to turn gay, I guess.
>explore the absurdity of generational suburban existence.
Thanks for the recommendations, I might check it out later, a pessimistic view of suburban life is an interesting topic.
