I liked how they decided to use Mr. Myxzptlk as the final boss of one of Superman continuities. It makes too much sense that someone as powerful as him would be the greatest threat if he just stops goofing around.
It's kind of amazing how this show has managed to frick up literally every single villain its shown so far (with the exception of Waller, who's already a fat, black lady.)
The cute shota voice would not work when it is revealed he is not a good guy. The current voice is perfect because he can still be whimsical and energetic (and frickable), but when the situation calls for it he can be more sinister and spooky as well. A high pitched shota voice would simply not work for a villain.
I dunno. While Atom Eve is a downgrade, I can still see a resemblance between her comic depiction and her cartoon depiction. Most villains in Adventures don't look anything like their comic version. But being fair, Livewire also...isn't really Livewire yet. She turns into the classic blue girl for a brief second before getting slapped out of it. And Volcana is okay. The rest have no excuse, but Cinemaphile would probably be more accepting of them if they were at least cool designs in their own right. Just look at this guy.
I know who Heatwave is, she's the worst example of what I'm talking about. Just a completely generic butch dyke; the kind we've seen for years now and resembling nothing close to the original. It's the biggest problem with the villains in Adventure, that they're ALL just kind of generic looking dudes. Even Parasite is just a dude. They're all lacking in any kind of creativity or expression. If Doomsday was designed by the Adventure's team, he'd be a dude with spiky shoulders. Though I will admit, I do like Myx's design, if not the voice. At least it's something.
And the biggest frustration is that it must be MORE effort to make them this generic instead of just using the comic designs! Someone had to sit down and draw the same person four times and go 'that's it, there's our four villains. Give one some big gloves to distinguish him.'
They're going with "super villains are popping out now because Task Force X got their secret Kryptonian tech stolen" so it makes sense they have a simular look in this version.
I don't mind the voice to much but I do agree that they really should have gotten someone that sounds more distinct. I feel like half the charm of the character is that he's played by one of those comedians or actors which a very odd natural voice.
