It does make you think how much interesting footage is heinously wasted by never being released. They must have fricking hours of behind the scenes shit for every film that never sees the light of day. They're missing a bit of a trick there, really. If they released it with the film as a separate thing then at the very least the hardcore film people would buy it - I know I would, they wouldn't even need to edit it, I could just sit and watch raw shit like that all day if it was a film I particularly liked. Shit, I'd pay thrice the cost of the film's BluRay for a disc full of unedited behind the scenes shit from Alien.
Used to be a DVD/extra content thing back in the day but since everything is online/on-demand/downloaded etc now its never seen.

Tragic tale of Leo, and similarly Brad Pitt, is they got typecast as the safe A-list heartthrob/straight man doing boring bits when in reality they're legit phenomenal character actors, which is plain obvious when you look back at their earlier stuff, and it took someone like QT, an outcast anomaly in the boring A-list of directors to remember/exploit this. Even Marty who's supposed to be a risk-taker and cinephilia historian, completely failed to realize this until Wolf, wasting both their talents on a whole decade of nothing.
