The first movie was a shit film where people only CARED about the Joker, a one dimensional clown. The 2nd was a clusterfrick where battard was barely anything worth mentioning and got overshadowed by a mute autistic Bane.
Nah, it's the same thing. TDK had one dynamite performance and that's it. As weak of a script but duller, and worse direction too probably, save for the opening bus bit. At least TDKR is sort of absurd and tells a fuller, sillier story, like a misguided epic. Warmed over Heat with le war on terror allusions is carried solely by Ledger.
Was TDK the only reason the joker is ever popular? He was the first version of the joker I watched besides the one from Batman Animated so when I look at other versions of him they never hold up to Ledger Joker
As an oldgay, it's what elevated the Joker to a widely known character beyond just the image of Batman's enemy. Nicholson being the Joker in 89 was a big deal, but it was because it was Nicholson at the height of his fame and notoriety. Joker wasn't an unknown character by any means, but Ledger's version truly elevated him as a known villain and personality. 2000's movies were lacking in memorable characters, and Tony stark and Joker came around the time those were desperately needed.
terrible movie. the only thing more memorable than James Holmes was Tom Hardy's Bane voice,
>capeshit is dying from a movie released 15 years ago

TDK has some weird writing but in terms of editing and storytelling is very sound.
okay but Joker is epic
The Joker was the only thing people gave a shit about. Delete him and no one cares about this capeshit garbage.
