Wasn't she completely cut off from the film in the latest screenings?
He did. >Shazam 2 might show up in my DCU! >The Flash reboots to my new DCU! >Blue Beetle is the first character of my new DCU!
>Shazam 2 might show up in my DCU!
Gunn DCEU hasn't officially started yet. >The Flash reboots to my new DCU!
You are right with that one. The Flash did reboot the DCEU but not into Gunn new DCEU. >Blue Beetle is the first character of my new DCU!
Nothing so far contradicts this one however.
Ha, WB saw that "They gave up on Aquaman" article trending on twitter and decided to shit this out today. AFTER their last major theatrical release came out in theaters.
I almost feel bad for those retards.
Because Warner already had those movies finished and needed to release them. If anything, Gunn's reboot announcement made things worse by killing any hype these past movies had.
>Aquaman makes 1.2B by being a sincere love letter to comics that celebrates the material making it the highest grossing DC movie ever >as a result James Wan's future DC work gets meddled in heavily, his Aquaman gets nixed, he is let go from DC and his other projects cancelled
>The Suicide Squad makes 160M by being a shitty disjointed dishonest self parody embarrassed of the source material that constantly takes cheap shots to get laughs out of normalfags making it one of the lowest grossing DC movies ever >as a result James Gunn gets a show greenlit immediately, then gets handed the reins to all of non-comics DC which includes nixing DCEU and Aquaman and making his own Superman and Batman etc movies
By your logic we should have gotten Todd Phillips as the new head of DC because his Joker movie was a box-office hit and made an homage of The Killing Joke. Also what were Wan's other projects besides the Aquaman sequel and that horror spin-off ?

thats what happens with every success, the executives come in and micro manage it because obviously it didn't reach its full potential. But then the director doesn't want to play their games so they have to replace them with someone else, focus test the movie to shit and then release a flop, but its not the executives fault, people are just tired of that ip right now.

You know Gunn got the keys to the kingdom because the GotG trilogy was a success.
Doesn't matter, he decided to put his name and reputation on stinkers like Shazam 2, The Flash and Blue Beetle.
To this day I don't know why DC decided Whedon was a good replacement for Snyder. Couldn't they get someone with a more similar style to Snyder?
It wasn't entirely Whedon's fault. He was a prick on set but WB didn't want to delay the movie because the execs wanted their precious bonuses instead of delivering a good product. And for the record I don't think Snyder's original movie would have been good either, especially if Warner Bros still demanded it to be under 2 hours.
>He already did TSS and Peacemaker.
One horribly flopped and the other had okay but not noteworthy streaming numbers
Wasn't she completely cut off from the film in the latest screenings?

It didn't reboot anything, Barry is back in the Snyderverse at the ending. Clooney isn't the new Batman, that was a different universe. There's no explanation for how Peacemaker and Blue Beetle are going to move from the Snyderverse to the DCU either.
Wan's true love is horror, he wouldn't have been happy being trapped at DC for the next decade and I'm sure he doesn't mind being let go after Aquaman 2. Gunn, meanwhile, has done nothing but superhero films for the past 10 years and has no interest in doing anything else, nothing wrong with giving him the reins
must protect the member of the tribe, why do you think no one is talking about those photos anymore?
Because Warner already had those movies finished and needed to release them. If anything, Gunn's reboot announcement made things worse by killing any hype these past movies had.

Yeah that would have been a good choice.
>>The Suicide Squad makes 160M by being a shitty disjointed dishonest self parody embarrassed of the source material that constantly takes cheap shots to get laughs out of normalfags making it one of the lowest grossing DC movies ever
The suicide squad is inarguably one of the better DCEU movies ever made. It didn't flop because of anything you've said, it flopped because of its dumbass title and it releasing during peak covid.
>The suicide squad is inarguably one of the better DCEU movies ever made
No, it's an unfunny poorly paced mess
>The Suicide Squad makes 160M by being a shitty disjointed dishonest self parody embarrassed of the source material
Had this been true they wouldn't have made starro, one of the goofiest choices for a main villain, the main villian. The suicide squad indulges itself in the fact that its a comic book movie, its why it's far less edgy than its predecessor which itself seems to be more ashamed of the fact that its a comic book movie.
>Had this been true they wouldn't have made starro, one of the goofiest choices for a main villain, the main villian.
He was chosen exactly for that reason, the characters don't react to Starro as DC characters already used to seeing all kinds of weird shit, his treatment is "wow look how stupid and goofy comics are! you can all laugh now at how stupid and goofy they are!" and the characters and their reactions are written in a way that reflects that
>No, it's an unfunny poorly paced mess
Now ik your either baiting or a snyder fan. The movies pacing was one of its strengths and an IMMENSE improvent compared to BvS or the first Suicide Squad that was rewritten a million fucking times. The humor was your standard James Gunn shit (ig it depends how much you can tolerate his humor).
>characters don't react to Starro as DC characters already used to seeing all kinds of weird shit, his treatment is "wow look how stupid and goofy comics are! you can all laugh now at how stupid and goofy they are!"
If you cant handle a property poking fun at itself then idk what to tell you. The movie mocks comic cliches while also being campy af and indulging in them heavily.
>Now ik your either baiting or a snyder fan.
I don't care for Snydershit >The movies pacing was one of its strengths
No it was terrible, it had no fucking structure, no buildup and release, there was a random inserted intermission like the Harley Quinn bit right in the middle, the fake start was terrible, it felt like an amateur project with a budget, I watched it with friends and they all fell asleep halfway in >and an IMMENSE improvent compared to BvS or the first Suicide Squad that was rewritten a million fucking times.
Being better than shit doesn't mean it's actually good >The humor was your standard James Gunn shit (ig it depends how much you can tolerate his humor).
Yes, so terrible unfunny humor >If you cant handle a property poking fun at itself then idk what to tell you.
It was always the lazy hack copout route for those who can't write actual jokes, and it stopped being novel 15 movies in, the only actually funny bit in the whole movie was Milton and he was literally just Dopinder from Deadpool >The movie mocks comic cliches while also being campy af and indulging in them heavily.
No it was never campy, a feeling of shame and embarrassment permeates every scene, Flag is the only actual genuine character and he's there only for exaggerated caricature parodies like Peacemaker to have something to play off of
When Aquaman has Topo the octopus play drums at the duel in the ring of fire, it doesn't stop to show several characters surprised and ashamed and roll their eyes at such a "silly wacky idea in such a serious grounded world" like Gunn would, it just plays it straight and presents it as an accepted part of Atlantis' culture, Gunn is incapable of being genuine and straightforward like that because he, by his own admission, thinks comics are stupid and silly and ridiculous
>. It didn't flop because of anything you've said, it flopped because of its dumbass title and it releasing during peak covid. >Peak covid >august 2021
lol how sheltered were you? People were already ignoring rules by summer 2020 let alone 2021.
>The Suicide Squad makes 160M by being a shitty disjointed dishonest self parody embarrassed of the source material

Honestly, even if we get a campy movie a la Batman Forever, it will still be good since this is Aquaman we are talking about. If someone can go from serious to campy, that's Aquaman.
So, will this break the curse of DCEU sequels? Everytime they make a good movie, they fuck it up with the 2nd. Wonder Woman, Shazam, MoS.
I guess you can make an argument for Suicide Squad, but I'm not sure how much that counts since the first one sucked and the 2nd was more of a soft reboot.
>Will this break the curse of DCEU sequels?
Hardly. According to insiders, the movie has the same problem that WW84 had: a tonal wiplash with the first movie. I don't know if that will affect the movie sales or not since snydertards will bash the movie for it.
Is Amber Heard still in this movie?
Because I really don't care if she's a scumbag and a domestic lunatic; for all I know most actors are, you don't become an actor if you're not at least a bit of an unhinged attention whore to begin with.
What I do care is that she was pitch fucking perfect casting for Mera. Replacing her satisfactorily will be hard, specially from the studio that can't seem to get through their thick skulls that Gal Gadot is and always will be a terrible WW.
How much is Amber in the movie?
She isn't
>Aquamom replacing her in every scene, even the sex scene
nice
She is actually
Wasn't she completely cut off from the film in the latest screenings?

Why do they keep releasing DC movies (usually flops)? Aren't they supposed to be rebooting the universe soon?
Because Warner already had those movies finished and needed to release them. If anything, Gunn's reboot announcement made things worse by killing any hype these past movies had.
By your logic we should have gotten Todd Phillips as the new head of DC because his Joker movie was a box-office hit and made an homage of The Killing Joke. Also what were Wan's other projects besides the Aquaman sequel and that horror spin-off ?
Todd Phillips was never involved with anything DCEU related.
>By your logic we should have gotten Todd Phillips as the new head of DC
they tried and he said no lol
>James Wan
I mean at the very least it will be a good popcorn flick
I hope that still is from a cartoon and not the movie
>noo why are there colors
>His metallic mask moves
Stupid, but soulful. Like the whole movie, honestly.

DC should know by now that hiring a Marvel guy doesn't mean their movies will suddenly earn Marvel money.
He hasn't released a single film
Doesn't matter, he decided to put his name and reputation on stinkers like Shazam 2, The Flash and Blue Beetle.

He did.

He released one of the biggest flop this franchise has ever seen.
Flash wasn't directed by Gunn.
he changed the ending so badly that it ruined the movie
He released the best movie since TDK (as he called it) and the movie featuring the first character of his universe, Spic Beetle.
To this day I don't know why DC decided Whedon was a good replacement for Snyder. Couldn't they get someone with a more similar style to Snyder?
He already did TSS and Peacemaker. WB seems to trust him well enough. If WB had hired Jon Favreau, that would have looked like peak desperation.
>He already did TSS and Peacemaker.

He isn't.
>Clooney isn't the new Batman, that was a different universe.
He is.
>He isn't
In the post credits scene with Aquaman he is.
>He is.
He's not, James Gunn said they're casting a new actor.
Post credit scene didn't clarify anything.
He's talking to Aquaman about his dimension hopping in the same alley from the begining of the movie.
Wan's true love is horror, he wouldn't have been happy being trapped at DC for the next decade and I'm sure he doesn't mind being let go after Aquaman 2. >Aquaman saves DC AGAIN
i watched the first Aquaman movie in theaters and had a blast. Truly the best DCU movie out there but i dont think this was one is going to be good.
It's right behind me, isn't it?
what i like about the first movie is that it takes it's world completely seriously, so they would never really do a joke like that
This is gonna be good DCbros.
Visually, it looks good, granted these are mere snippets.

Remember what Gunn took from you
