Nope, people like the original run, hate the Savino seasons even when there are some good episode there and hate when Dexter gets the short end of the stick for no fault of his own.
I always hated how over simplistic the backgrounds for these shows were in this era. Powerpuff Girls was a bit worse than Dexter in this regard. I never felt like I could be immersed in these shows. Which as an adult, is not as big of a deal but as a kid it was a deal breaker. Does this make sense?

It's always a bit weird to me how disinterested and distant Genndy seems with Dexter these days, because while I absolutely get the desire not to be, like, pigeonholed, by the same token knowing what we know about Genndy and his interests and tastes, Dexter's Laboratory absolutely seems like an auteur passion project that was basically "all the stuff Genndy liked, especially as a child; the show."
Despite Gendy's name being front and center Dexter Laboratory was more of a collaborative effort.
Weird, because it's not even just the name. Like look at his later work and it's all there. Like it really does seem like a list of all the stuff he has interest in and would later explore in less breadth but more depth in his later works.
my guess is that unlike every other show he's done with Dexter he did everything he wanted to do with it as a series so he sees no need to revisit it
Maybe he knows a reboot wouldn't be as good probably. We couldn't even get all of the OG cast if we did.
