Hollywood's doesn't have a single actress THICC enough to play Julie. They will frick it up by not following the panels of tie comic exactly like Sin City. It's part of what makes the animated series so great

I have a fetish for paunches on women because theirs are the only women that will let me frick them. It’s more of a best of a bad situation kind of thing.

Julie has a slight paunch. She doesn't have a gunt spilling over her jeans. She is refined.

My first thought, not a great one, and I can't figure out how to look up his name. Not picrel. I think he was in some MCU movies? He has dark hair, is balding, a character actor thats recognizable but his name doesn't get mentioned much.

Oh I figured it out, Michael Kelly. Not sure he can do cartoonishly evil thought. Usually he plays random dark fed government character.

The comic is a combination of really heavy subject matter and a surreal structure bordering on the psychedelic or incoherent. It isn’t even the sort of concept that fits with society in 2024 because people don’t think or respond to art like that the way they used to. So I’m guessing the way you adapt it is to disregard ALL of that and just make it a comedic quip filled capeshit with no metaphor or symbolism. Make it all literal. There’s a real material alternate universe where a bunch of people draw superpowers from, one of them being a homeless guy who gets super strength and the world gets invaded by an evil from that universe that includes the Iszes. You could make a really deep and insane movie that would bomb out no matter how well you make it, and making that movie would be an arduous task. Or you could make the capeshit I described with ease and it will probably make money, but even if it doesn’t, it was way easier to put together compared to an actual good adaptation.

It has been a while, but weren’t major plot points: rape, mental illness, poverty, trauma, parental abandonment, social disenfranchisement of teenagers, suicide, unwanted pregnancies, and like that is only a drop of the shit I remember. How the frick would you make a movie like that without inducing panic attacks in half the audience who legitimately have mental breakdowns when they come across certain words on the internet.

They’ll ignore all that and make it about a big purple monster with big teeth making quips and fighting rich white men and corporations. Oh they’ll also cast Julie as a queer black girl. When nobody watches it they’ll blame racism.

The movie needs to start with a brutal rape in a laundromat right after a kid gets friend-zoned. The entire movie should seem like it's just the delusions of a schizophrenic homeless man but in the 3rd act allude that some of this might actually be true and maybe there is a parallel universe from which amorphous evil blobs have come from to wreak havoc.

Not necessarily...everyone else does see him in a purple suit. And yes it is a
lampshade that julie put on him after she ran him over but according to the comics the tear between the real world and the outback made it a real mask and costume
