A live action anime is conceptually perfectly fine to adapt. The only reason it generally sucks is they either underbudget the adaption or they give it to fricking morons who don't understand the source material. Netflix fricked up Death Note and Cowboy Bebop despite both of them being lowball easy material for live action.
Live action Berserk would work perfectly fine because it isn't a remotely wacky setting. It's just a medieval setting + demons.
If Hollywood made berserk casca would be the pseudo-main character. Also any hint of rape removed, but guarantee they would keep or even worsen the gore. For some reason sexual assault is taboo in Hollywood but extreme physical violence just keeps getting worse

Guts is definitely the hardest one to cast because his character is so specific. He needs to be build like Randy Orton but 20 years younger and has to have a thousand yard stare. He also has to be fairly handsome and has to know how to act because he's the central character. I think that he needs to be some young and unknown actor, there's no one in the modern a-list or even b-list that properly fits Guts.
Pippin is also hard to cast because of his sheer size and age. Everyone else are pretty easily cast.
