I dont understand, the show has had prominent black characters onscreen since season 1
hell the main trio were all different races
why the hell is it suddenly an issue NOW???
Ape Out Shirt $21.68 |
UFOs Are A Psyop Shirt $21.68 |
Ape Out Shirt $21.68 |
Oh no how could people grow tired of forced wokeness... they should eat it up and ask for more
>forced wokeness
or you could be a drooling moron thats never played Castlevania instead of answering the question thats fine too
Race swapping a character that was white is woke, yes. Same as raceswapping a black character is racist.
>forced wokeness
As opposed to naturally occurring organic wokeness?
So if the cast of a show isn’t entirely white it’s woke? Are u moron?
>CARTOON GIRL NOT WHITE!
shut up fatoid moron, maybe if your base had its shit together you'd have a say, but you only exist to stand halfway out of your armchair, grunting "NO!" before you get tired and sit back down.
Didn't know people who worked on Nocturne browsed Cinemaphile.
Woke Garbage is never good
Stoooooop, you’re ruining peoples livess
How did people like this even navigate the internet pre-2014? I feel like old videogame forums or ~2007 Xbox Live would actually make them suicidal
Of course an adaptation affects the original due to perception
Netflixvania has been the public face of the franchise ever since it began due to Konami doing jack shit since then except that mobile game, they chose to leave the kids who grew up with these games in the dust
Doing jack shit before, during or after for like a decade or more
To be fair the show made me like Trevor and Sipha's relationship.
The writing can handle the Belmont relationships just fine, really. They're my favorite parts.
I can tell with 100% certainty this person dyed their hair.
All white people are evil and/or incompetent
What are you talking about! All the main villains were black women, and Orlox was an Aztec
because now Julius is black and Annette is an entirely different character because the writers are allergic to damsels in distress (in the one game in the series that's literally about saving damsels
Castlevania is about fighting Dracula actually
and the show itself was barely following the original canon to begin with and people still overwhelmingly liked it
I see you are unfamiliar with Rondo of Blood and also can't read
gonna double down and say that there has never been a series more exclusively about killing dracula than Castlevania
you fight dracula
you fight his memory
his son
his lackeys
you fight him in the past
you fight him in the future
you fight in draculas castle
you fight in draculas castle upside down
you fight Draculas fricking dog
the main characters are either a a family of people dedicated to killing dracula, or his son, who is dedicated to killing dracula
there's a seuss poem here somewhere
While true, they also specified that the particular game in the series the season is on is literally about saving people. Your girlfriend and her sister in particular. The overarching themes of the series doesn't quite matter when the plot is revolving around a single game.
Let’s be honest, they’re not adapting Rondo. Shaft is nowhere to be found. Dracula is nowhere to be found. They’re using the two lead villains from Bloodlines. Juste is here to get buck broken. Castlevania itself isn’t here. Two of the four kidnapped maidens aren’t here. No location or enemy/monster from the game has shown up.
There is NOTHING here aside from characters bearing the names Richter, Maria and Annette. Even Alucard is here which is fricking weird because his forced slumber was meant to be disturbed due to the lack of a Belmont.
>disturbed due to the lack of a Belmont.
one could argue richter continually being a pussy jobber b***h (even after he said he was done with being afraid) constitutes that
the hate for straight white men is unreal
Rondo has Dracula in it.
the point anon was making (before other anon went into a tangential rant) is that RoB is a game about saving b***hes unlike the other games, so the anime could have at least had some b***h-saving
you deserve eachother you filthy animal
>Castlevania is about fighting Dracula actually
He's not the final boss every game and he's even the protagonist in several of the games.
Besides Castlevania is based on horror mythos beyond just Dracula, just like vampire mythos it's vast and encompasses a lot of things.
That character sure did fricking suck
Yeah Myths, like the Myth of Strangh Whaman
Breaking point
>and the show itself was barely following the original canon to begin with and people still overwhelmingly liked it
bullcrap, i LIKED the show until the end of season two, i stopped precisely because it stopped being castlevania and just became "random dark fantasy"
i FORCED myself to watch season 3, then i started watching season 4, i saw how Alucard immediately figured out the secret plan from the 4 vampire b***hes and i dropped it at that very second, the writing became so fricking bad
im not one of those morons that go:
>I HAVE LE Black person FATIGUE *DING DING DING*
im pissed because i feel cheated, the series WAS good once, the series COULD keep the themes of castlevania, they simply choose to abandon the themes and become shit
Didn't Maria get the damsel treatment? Seems like complaining for the sake of it
no? she's gone for like 2 seconds, and rondo is literally about collecting damsels (multiple). I did appreciate that she was terrified of queen dyke though and instantly swooned for her true love Alucard in contrast
Your on Cinemaphile, both racist and judgemental as shit people hated new Issac until the later seasons made him a sigma male
And they still hated him after that. There's no winning.
Maybe don't change characters into something entirely different ones when your job is to adapt existing material.
First season, the main cast were all white
Nonwhites like Isaac were 1. irrelevant and 2. overtly potrayed as non-native to Europe [he came from the Middle East] so nobody cared
Second season has canonically white characters racebent into being black, has a French Revolution setting where the main characters are siding with the communsts [lmao] and the same old generic 'nobles bad', also portrays the Haitian Revolution as a good thing
Op won't reply to this because it's correct and to the point about the problem
>also portrays the Haitian Revolution as a good thing
Was it not?
You look at Haiti right now and tell me
so was living under colonial oppression better?
looking at it from the point of view of the oppressed back then, was the revolution not worth a shot?
They literally became cannibals. In what world is that a fricking improvement
Haitíans are invading México
Anon, Haiti
>the communsts
Didn't watch the show but, are you moronic and meant the revolutionaries, or is this another anachrony?
>same old generic 'nobles bad'
As opposed to the same generic royalty = good in fantasy? It's such a weird hill to die on considering famine plagued Paris then. Louis XVI went down in history as an autist and incompetent king who would have prefered to be a watchmaker, and Marie Antoinette was a spoiled idiot and an Austrian in France. It was the worst people in charge at the worst time and it exploded when the bourgeoisie exploited people's frustrations and hopes.
lmfao you dont even what youre talking about pipe down
>Louis XVI went down in history as an autist and incompetent king
Given that a physiocrat told the King to let the market handle a poor harvest, it was not entirely his fault
You only understand what a big god damn fricking moron he was after you realize that all the revolutionaries initially wanted was a constitution. A fricking constitution and monetary reforms.
The King was executed because he tried to flee France to Austria
> his wife's homeland
as France was falling apart against all the Kings of Europe warring against her. Keep in mind that France was a constitutional monarchy, with a constitution written by none other than Thomas Jefferson, the founding father of America himself, for a brief amount of time
>Second season has canonically white characters racebent into being black
You can blame the owners of the IP selling to Netflix instead of to an anime studio. The West is obsessed with brownwashing everything to apologize for slavery and colonialism.
> same old generic 'nobles bad'
'Generic' is not valid criticism. Scheming selfish greedy power hungry lords and dames is a great trope for settings in the past
> French Revolution
> communists
The French Revolution was a group of nobles fighting to shape France and the world to reflect their ideals against another group of nobles fighting to keep her the way she is. The poor peasant mobs were just pawns in a greater game, whether they were storming the Bastille or fighting in the Vendee. Commies tend to ignore this ignore this inconvenient truth because it opposes their class struggle narrative that everyone is a rabid ape fighting for food.
>also portrays the Haitian Revolution as a good thing
Well, it was a good thing! Just imagine how much worse off Haiti would be today if it was still ruled by white people.
>Just imagine how much worse off Haiti would be today if it was still ruled by white people.
Yeah, bet it would be filled with roads, sewage system, schools, hospitals, safety, education and all sorts of white devil shit going on there.
I, for one, support the Dominican revolution a few decades afterwards. Screw dem Haitians.
>NOOOOO THE Black folk MUST LEARN OUR WAYS! AHHHHHH WHY WON'T THESE Black folk JUST LET US TAKE OVER!!?!?!?! REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
for people who hate nigs, you sure wants their shit.
Black people only came to Haiti around 1700 tho, inheriting 300 years of whypeepo infrastructure, only to do nothing with it.
>filled with roads, sewage system, schools, hospitals, safety, education
I yearn for the good ole days o'
>dirt trails
>shitting behind the bush
>widespread illiteracy
>folk meds
>women needin their father/husband to guard them because there was no police
Maybe I should go to India or Haiti
>thats right blackie, you better thank King Leopold he came here to civilize you
I just want a straight forward shonen anime, their ocs are just bad and ruin anything they're doing
I think I'm in love anons
so is she
>tfw that raw primal heterosexual urge when you see your dhampir soulmate
damn this shit looks ugly and scratchy as hell
It never lasts.
her mom is hotter
I wish I was the dhampir man that'll impregnate her
I call dibs on Drolta then.
she's dead
Even people in Japan are pissed!
I think they don't care about the blackwashing at least - Magnum is still the biggest male japanese porn star of all time.
now they are pissed?
they literaly RAPED alucard in season 3 and only now they are pisseD?
the buthurt pun intented was so big they forced konami to stop counting their patchinko money and actualy create a new castlevania mobile game just to say that the only person alucard ever loved was maria
its amazing to me they still let them use the license instead of giving it to someone japanese
Konami is pretty much extinct. They have no say about things for a long time.
I thought they still made a ton of money? In fact I believe the entire motivation for shutting down their gaming division was because it wasn't nearly profitable enough to justify compared to all their other ventures. They did recently start allowing people to make Silent Hill games though.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konami
Go to controversies. Konami stopped caring for videogames and went mobile and focus on casinos. They just don't care anymore.
The heart of konami went to Kojima Productions.
yeah that's what I mean, read my post lol
they still own the IPs and licenses though and can tell people to stop if its really causing that much butthurt for the Japanese
I want a contra cartoon show. That way I can see black guy with white guy shooting up aliens and badass black female using a flamethrower
Nah, if any game has potential it'll be sunset riders. It can't possibly be that hard to write about four bad mother frickers trying to get bounties on some criminals led by Richard Rose.
>they literaly RAPED alucard in season 3 and only now they are pisseD?
Japan really loves Richter.
Japan had a good time
>I saw a leak on an international site. Anime !!!! But the design is the PSP Chronicle version... no hachimaki... I was a little disappointed... but... what a surprise: !!!! Mr. Richter: !!!! Hachimaki !!!!! He's wearing a hachimaki. !!!!!!0:44 I've already got a patchy sahagin skin all over my body from the hachimaki scene!!!!!! Ohhhhhh I'm so glad I'm alive!!!!!!!
They loved it actually, only the moronic racists that should be getting their throats slit seem to hate it
three letter agent glow so bright
>calling for the Japanese to have their throats slit
woah anon, sounded kinda racist there
Checks out according to the comments
Least racist Cinemaphile user.
>wow japanese fans are vocal about the new season and they are not happy
who is voicing Maria?
/co/mblr will defend this
The image that summed up everything wrong with netflix shows.
>Unrecognizably raceswapped character
>Shitting on the original protagonist
>Laughably childish writing that's completely put of place for the "setting"
>that's completely put of place for the "setting"
What are you even trying to say, moron? This is pure gibberish. No wonder everyone laughs at you for crying about dumb shit like this.
nta but why is Maria sitting around in france calling for a revolution but saying shit like wanker unironically with an english accent when her mother has that weird evropean speaker accent sypha had?
Her mother was Russian, or at least spent most of her life there.
Then she should speak french because russian nobility spoke French. Yes that sounds moronic but its true
>Then she should speak french because russian nobility spoke French
I thought she was a "speaker" (gypsy allegory), not a noblewoman.
> that being said, she should speak French because its clear she's been living in France for a while and had a kid there with a Frenchman
right, but there's no reason for Maria to have her accent. The most you could say is Richter influenced her but she's lived in France with Tera her entire life and he didn't join them for some time. It's impossible for one person in her daily life to turn her into a bong slag.
It's because redditors posted comps of them sóy facing at death swearing last season and you know it.
>but why is Maria sitting around in france calling for a revolution but saying shit like wanker unironically with an english accent when her mother has that weird evropean speaker accent sypha had?
Hollywood writing these days is awful. Instead of having one writer with an editor do what must be done with the director, they have an entire writing "team". Heard of the old saying
> too many cooks spoil the soup
Still rings true to this day. Not that Castlevania needed more than one writer anyway given much of the dialogue and story is done in the game, all you got to do is put that into film. Storyboarding would suffice
No fricking person who lived in the time of revolutionary France (as flimsily put together as the show's version of that is) would say the phrase "useless as frick". That shits for 2010 era middle schools and you are delusional if you think otherwise you underaged moron.
Its an anachronism to appeal to the 20-40 crowd who thinks drinking ipa beer makes them "manly" or that you should treat all women as ladies, even if they're used up prostitutes
you're a stupid homosexual and should blow your brains out.
To be fair the person she is speaking to shuts her down real fast after this. Tera and Maria call her out on her bullshit as well.
It was spoken out of anger and grief, and her mentor chastised her for it, along with Maria and her mother. She even somewhat apologized for the attitude by telling Richter she had been worried about him the whole time.
The Belmont bloodline sure is getting darker.
>The Belmont bloodline sure is getting darker
Will the white fans complain for "blackification" or will the black fans complain for "white male conquering one of their girls"?
>will the black fans complain for "white male conquering one of their girls"?
Shit, we haven't thought of that under that perspective. i need to talk to some people.
Netflix bros... we've gravely miscalculated...
But no honestly black women need all the help they can get in the dating world.
Maybe their shared hatred will bring the two groups together, like that one episode of Black Dynamite.
This, both had a heart to heart and talked it out, she was disappointed in not only him who she was told to seek out but also in herself projecting that running away she did on him, wheras Richter found his motivation again and assured her he won't leave again.
they are going to have cute mallato babies and there is nothing you all can do about it
She was sent to an ally for help and she sees him run away, nothing wrong with her feeling upset over it. Maybe dbz is more your style for stories.
It was always an issue, but you mean season 2
Isaac had no business being called Isaac, why not Ismail
>Isaac was an improvement on a character that no one cared about.
>the new series is a degradation.
>WHY DO PEOPLE CARE NOW?!
op, take your meds.
The vidya fans cared about him
I bought curse of darkness at launch and it was the first game I ever pre-ordered. And yes I read the manga. Nigsaac is a colossal improvement.
His game was not popular in the first place.
Because they're bringing up slavery to a series about fighting Dracula, the storyline from Rondo to Sotn is could have been a great place to explore, Richther going from a hero to a being a minor villain .
- Lets to French revolution instead,
- Rich people bad, muh freedom
- Maria is a annoying a brat the second she opens her mouth because shes lacking a father figure .
- Richters father never gets mentioned
- Juste is so apathetic he might as be dead
- Priest father ends being evil at the end
- Fathers are bad mmkay
Then they enforce the most unrelated things about slavery and how it relates to vampirism, revolution, destruction of mankind by bringing two Black folk all the way from haiti, just to make them relevant to the story. The propoganda is too much and so obvious it ruins the story, Castlevania is not about politics or agenda, its about good fighting over evil , never giving up the will to face that that lasts over centuries.
When Warren Ellis was writing Castlevania, he had to redo the script 8 times and each time the board's notes mattered. Not because of the juvenile swearing or the uncanny dialogue that sounds like its copied from a wiki article discussing some historical battle; but I bet its because the suits in charge wanted to add more blacks, queers, and girlbosses in pants because they themselves hate what the world looked like in the past
> heterosexual and patriarchal
> inb4 "but its for the cash"
Most people don't need race-swapping and queer-baiting to have empathy or to "feel represented". Netflix has cultivated a crowd of street-shitting junkie urbanite homosexuals
>Netflix has cultivated a crowd of street-shitting junkie urbanite homosexuals
You can’t profit off those guys. They’re way too small an audience.
>Netflix has cultivated a crowd of street-shitting junkie urbanite homosexuals
>You can’t profit off those guys. They’re way too small an audience.
I live in downtown Toronto. H E L P
Yes, its like they don't care if it profits or not as long as they meet their "demands" , they make money anyway other shows or get funded by you know who. As long as the normies keep watching and netflix stays relevant this will keep going on.
I hope they wont ruin Onimusha
It's not, Cinemaphile isn't real life
Haven't watched yet but the preview played and one thing I will say is that the black girl in the yellow's VA is dog shit. Zero energy, zero emotion, they sound like they're delivering lines phonetically
Blame the director who probably told her to deliver the lines that way. Makes her sound stronger.
I'm sorry but no, no director could make the lines sound this shit unless thry literally don't speak English
Are all the line reads as bad as hers?
If you were a vampire, would you bite a black person? I wouldn't, and neither would you. So it makes sense that all the vampires over there are white.
why did this show waste like half an episode on annette failing to shove the devilforging machine into a portal while her zika virus sand god smoked a joint?
who thought that whole subplot added ANYTHING to the season? it's nothing but budgeting missteps
Reminds me of the two Japanese characters they crammed into Castlevania season 3, or the lesbian sister-couple that no one gave a shit about, or the four vampire generals that don't even have VAs in Season 2 (though their fight is awesome)
Season 3 was the weak point of the series so far I'll admit
>or the lesbian sister-couple that no one gave a shit about
Morana and Striga were the best part of Styria.
I wonder what happened to them.
Presumably still living out their happy ending in stored-up aristocratic wealth, and knew well enough to stay scarce when talk about a new vampiric world order started floating around. Been there, tried that.
>Morana and Striga were the best part of Styria
Utter nonsense. They took the limelight away from Carmilla and Lenore
tbh Morana and Striga come off as shitty DnD characters some writers inserted, they don't even do anything of note in the grand scheme of things
in fact it seems they rode off into the sunset chiefly because said writers didn't want them massacred by Isaac
Morana was the first one to realize Carmilla's plan was untenable, and Striga experienced it firsthand from a tactical vantage.
I hope they're fricking dead. Frick these shitty characters.
They came and just fricked off.
>10 minutes of richter belmont across the entire season
everything else is
>MEN BAD
>WOMEN GOOD
>WOMEN STRONG
>SOCIALISM GOOD
>DESTROY CAPITALISM
>WHITE MEN EVIL
>BLACK PEOPLE GOOD
>BLACK PEOPLE HISTORY
>BLACK PEOPLE POWERFUL
>BLACK PEOPLE STRUGGLES
>BLACK PEOPLE ARE OUR SAVIOURS
>PLEASE WORSHIP BLACK PEOPLE
>GAY SEX
>VAMPIRE LESBIANS AGAIN
>ALL MEN VAMPIRES ARE DUMB AND FODDER
i just keep fast forwarding through the episodes, it was awful
I hated Season 1 too, what are you talking about.
Election season tourist
I dislike it because it had everything I didn't like about the first one, but with worse animation. it was also even further off from the games to the point where it was literally about something different.
I don't mind an adaptation taking liberties but Dracula and the namesake location of this series did not appear in this season. It genuinely feels like this series is NOT for fans at this point.
when the Sorrow games get adapted I hope Soma shoots up Castlevania and Death puts out an active shooter alert over the PA
I liked the show, I'm just pissed that they killed Doltra in the end.
I was expecting a full on 1v1 between Doltra and Maria at some point while.
>I was expecting a full on 1v1 between Doltra and Maria at some point while.
why? they don't really have anything to do with eachother
I'm glad Alucard saved his wife and effortlessly killed the fake egyptian though
Nothing really, it would just be fun to watch.
Erzsebet may be able to revive her, but it's most likely that Tera is gonna replace her. We'll see.
I'm annoyed Richter's kill was stolen. Doltra would been dead as dirt had the main baddie not shown up at the last second to save her in the church.
I mean they never put Grant in as well. Can't say I can blame a AI yet when video game adaptations are still on the level of respect comics got with Adam West Batman and so on.
>when video game adaptations are still on the level of respect
Video games don't deserve respect, which is why I don't think video game adaptations are worthwhile. In this case it's a terrible show regardless, but it's not really because the source material is holding it back -- there's not much material to it to begin with and they still fricked it up.
You know I'm fine with them having their own Original the character do not steal even if she isn't needed for the story in the end but why did they make her "Annette" but then give Annette's fate and expanded role to their "Tera" character anyway?
Like I feel if Annette was Tera and Tera was Annette less people would care.
the plot outline was generated by chatgpt and it didn't understand the nuances behind the entities attached to these random names
I dont have an issue with them but their intro was weak. A way worse issue was that I found the voice acting way weaker for the core cast. They also skip over initial character development and just have everyone start things knowing each other and having their relationships already established.
Tell me about it, Richter's awakening having him think about Annette the same way as Tera and Maria was a fricking joke. He's known that b***h for less than a day in this story.
my man's jungle fever is unreal
at least we'll get Jules Belmont
if they wanted a black character they should've made an original story taking place in the 1970s where Dracula emerges in America so Tyrone "whipping" Belmont must get in his ride, stop Dracula, save the babes, and looking good while doing it baby
that is literally what the 1999 season is going to be now and it'll be awesome
>Gangster Vampire slayer Trefor Belmont
>Teams up with a young Amish girl and a grizzled private eye
>Rumspringa is actually a cover for squads of young Amish to go vampire hunting
>The detective doesnt believe in the Super natural at first, he's just chasing a conspiracy that happens to be lead by vampires
I'd watch a Blaxploitation parody of Castlevania.
>Blackslpoitation belmont
Too good, they'll never make it.
Are you sure about that? I mean, we have Anette Haiti Revolution bullshit going on, might as all go full trainwreck. It's clear they want tyrone and laquisha to watch this.
No one makes actual blacksploitation stuff anymore. A cool black dude with funny swagger is too "racist". They have to talk like a middle schooler and be boring instead. Pimpmont as a concept itself would mind break the weak Californian writers.
I'm still waiting for that Black Dynamite sequel Michael Jai White has been talking about for a decade now
In the words of the great Mr. Freeze
>Oh yes, I'd kill for that.
I loved Black Dynamite and Boondocks, don't give a dam about what the haters said. through laughter we expose our flaws as a community.
oh shit he's finally releasing it
if netflix ever makes a 1999 movie I want MJW to play Jules/Julius
Oh frick yeah, there is hope after all.
>Ooo kill em! Ooo kill em! OOOO kill em!!
>Whoops! Killed 'im!
>Blackmont slams his Dragula into Dracula
>"I thought you belmonts used whips!"
>Blackmont revs his engine
>>"I am"
>if they wanted a black character they should've made an original story taking place in the 1970s where Dracula emerges in America so Tyrone "whipping" Belmont must get in his ride, stop Dracula, save the babes, and looking good while doing it baby
we have 'Blade' at home
I mean, I just keep on saying bring Julia into the mix. Let her glass the gaslighting redhead when she starts trying to mindfrick Hector.
They keep doing "the last survivor of the Belmont line" shit when it's never been a thing
Even for the show there's no reason why there shouldn't be many Belmont branches using the name by now, let alone offshoots like the Morrises, Schneiders etc, more so since the Vampire Killer isn't really thing so everyone has their own whips
Entirely possible to have distant cousins, a black American Belmont and a white Euro Belmont team up in the 20th century in 1999 or whatever
Potential storyline where the Vampire Killer gets frayed into strands, and each strand gets woven into different whips owned by Belmont-adjacent or offshoot hunting families.
Isn't 64/Legacy of darkness non-canon now?
Yes, the three Konami Kobe branch games were retconned. Cornell is in Judgement though, bizarrely.
Funnily enough the only Judgement design I liked was Cornell's. Shanoa would be a close second. They just gave Dracula the Sonic 06 eggman nipples
iga was getting desperate not to be booted off 3Dvanias (happened anyway with Lords of Shadow, he lost his 3D alucard game over it) and they needed a resident werewolf archetype for a fighting game so that's all it was.
I thought Iga didn't want to make that game.
> its suddenly an issue
Stop listening to poltards. Its set in the late 1700s, France had thousands of blacks by then, even Britain had about ten thousand by the time slavery was abolished all throughout the empire
It's just racists being racists, these people didn't even play the games and I see them getting shit wrong about them every thread. Just like when the first series started and they were saying they made Sypha a man. We're lucky to get such a great series out of Castlevania, just because it's been bare on story doesn't mean anything you fill it with will be good but it's going great so far.
>Richter gave the VK to the Morrises because he shamed his bloodline with Annette
what is wrong with Netflix, this is overtly racist
>casts magic to block out the sun causing an eclipse
>somehow vampires can walk during the day now
Am I missing something? Isn't the light coming from an eclipse still from the sun? Or is because it's technically a planet-wide shade so that's why they can walk during the day?
Its magic and symbology, don't try to apply logic to it.
no one writing netflix vampire cartoons in 2023 has taken even a basic physics class
probably because Sunlight killing vampires is more of a magical thing than a physical thing
but i dont remember
How was dracula able to walk around during the day when it was cloudy in the very first episode? Their needs to be enough sunlight to kill them
Dracula isn't able to be killed by sunlight, first and foremost.
It was an issue then, nobody fricking like Isaac.
I liked Isaac a lot.
I liked when he yeeted the white kween
Isaac was great and people loved him, I just wish he didn't have the duel with Carmilla and it had been Sypha instead.
Hey Cinemaphile, I'm completely new to the series and have troubles understanding the plot. When will the protagonists meet the Castlevania? They just talk talk talk, then sex, then talk talk talk. I really don't get it. Aren't they supposed to hunt Dracula?
Im afraid the Castlevania is dead anon. Trevor Belmont hunted Dracula down in S3 and Dracula sic'd the Castlevania on him. It was a pretty epic fight but Trevor won. This is technically S4 now
dbz was made for you, go watch that
I hope Drolta comes back, but I can be sated with Erzebet goofing around with Maria's mother. Or Maria.
Alucard isn't going to let some washed up hungarian hag rape his wife
Are you sure? They don't follow the lore at all. They might pull a berserk eclipse moment.
she's a kid, if netflix really does that just to own the straights it'll cement that they really are the cuties company
>Erzebet goofing around with Maria's mother. Or Maria.
I can toast to that. And may it be long and plentiful such affair.
its still funny to me that Carmilla isn't a lesbian and prefers males in this show
>I mean they never put Grant in as well.
they eventually did, as Alucard's gypsy gf in season 4
>its still funny to me that Carmilla isn't a lesbian and prefers males in this show
Castlevania Carmilla liked them young. never had interest for women. Lenore of the same taste too.
Aw yeah, shame this probably the limit of what they were allowed to show. Seeing her lounge in a luxurious bed with a harem of boys spread amongst it would have been great.
Carmilla had this whole mommy roleplay going on. It was her kink.
I would have loved to see how she actually interacted with her harem.
No much is known, but she seemed to be in good terms with the other vampire women so she probably wasn't that bat shit evil insane b***h her enemies always saw of her.
No doubt, she had a gentler and softer side.
I like the idea of her pampering her little boy toys and they absolutely adored her.
Did they make the character that was based on a character from an erotic horror story about lesbian vampires straight or something? The one character that would actually make sense being lesbian?
everyone got x-washed so I don't see a problem with her being straight
That was the least of our concerns.
Chances are she read them bedtime stories and made cookies with them. Other fun things like that.
No wonder she always had them behind closed doors. Imagine your glorious vampire leader prancing around in a tea party making cookies or something pink like that.
I mean I don't mind it at all. Making villains a bit more "human" is great. Show that bad people can still do bad things and might not be known that well. Ever look at a certain Mouse in Mother 3 for example?
I didn't see her as Grant. I saw her as original the character do not steal. Don't really care if they add their own characters to help the story build. Just wish they wouldn't slap actual game character name's on them.
Their Isaac and Annette could be their own characters instead of named after game characters and I wouldn't mind it at all.
sexo
why does Cinemaphilemblr always defend racism and sexism when it is aimed at straight white men? you really lose all your believability by refusing to call even the most extreme woke stuff
wokeism isn't egalitarian, it doesn't even put up the pretense of being such
the ideology behind it basically wants retribution to systemically level the playing field - ie make white men feel like shit for a few generations so everyone feels equally shitty at the end of it
its moronic but its what universities are teaching to non-STEMs
There's a reason why the Netflix Logo is a big "N" and I always chuckle when it flashes on screen.
>aimed at straight white men
How is someone racist against straight white men but not straight white women or gay white men or trans white women/men exactly? Maybe you're just projecting, anon
why is no show allowed to feature herouc and cool straight white males yet always have to be about mary sue strong wyman who look and act nothing like the source material constantly b***hing about how evil and useless white men are?
I thought the Belmonts have been just fine in these stories so far tbh.
You know I'm kinda upset he didn't rush in as the wolf.
Could have stood in front of Maria to defend her from something during the attack too and she could have wondered if she'd summoned him or something and reached out to pet him.
He's a good boy!
That scene was cool though. I sorta wish Alucard also looked as pale white in the first season of Castlevania when he was first introduced
well, he's much more undead now. He was like 16 in the first series
Homie had character. Black Anette is mary sue as frick.
Isaac was more mary sue. You liking the character doesn't mean he wasn't mary sue.
>Isaac was more mary sue. You liking the character doesn't mean he wasn't mary sue.
I unironically think it people making double standards because of his sex.
Did he even do anything substancial I can't remember. They hyped him up so much only for death to be the actual villain
The whole B plot was absolutely pointless. Neither Isaac, Hector, or Carmilla actually interacted with the main trio. If he had stayed the main villain, everything would have tied together instead of pointlessly introducing Saint Germain. Isaac killing Carmilla served no purpose other than not giving Hector anything important to do.
>His part of the story was great and he could have stood on his own as an original character.
It really wasn't. What do you mean by "his part of the story"? Removing him from the story changes nothing. Do you think the trio is incapable of beating Carmilla?
The only thing wrong with Isaac is that they called him Isaac. His part of the story was great and he could have stood on his own as an original character.
here is the other issue and not shit posting
I did not know Issac beyond the Netflix show
so a good bet mainstream general public wont either
so you're right, he could had been an original character and be important
for me thou it would not and did not take anything away with the name or character being reworked
so it was already a win/win situation for Konami and Netflix
I'm just happy this was good, I was worried that losing Ellis would frick it over completely but it wound up being good.
there was a definite drop of quality across the board (plot, animation, character development, basic logic)
but I guess I find it funny that someone is attributing Ellis to what make the first series better
scratching my head about that, really. But when you're comparing the two series, I guess its true.
I don't watch anything made after 2012.
SOMEONE SAID BOYS
WHERE
needs a nosebleed
>We can't get Carmilla to answer our summons.
>Ugh, this again.
>Shall we commence the attack?
>No, no...ahem...OH, WHAT HANDSOME YOUNG BOYS THERE ARE IN VILLAGE YONDER
>*Panting* ...I'm here...
>You...are a very sick woman.
This show doesn't feel like Castlevania. It feels like a regular vampire horror show with Castlevania characters slapped in.
>Have the village bring me all their boys...every single one.
what happens when they're men
They get eaten
Chances are this to be honest.
Either drained of blood or made foot soldier to her army. Since she did have males in her ranks. Whre she got them? Logic would be, she took children, raised and branwash them, made them loyal to her cause.
what undead pussy does to a mfer
Actually this makes more sense than this
now that you bring it up.
I think what's sadder, since it was the middle ages, the kids were better off with her than in the villages eating grass soup and dying out of hunger or disease. sure, she probably used abduction, but some were offered to her as serfs in exchange for protection since she was a feudal lord. in fact, her whole plan consisted on acquiring land for building a country of her own. No world domination or vampire supremacy, just economic and world building.
>the kids were better off with her than in the villages eating grass soup and dying out of hunger or disease.
Ungrateful little brats, literally don't know what's good for them, all hail mommy!
>it was the middle ages, the kids were better off with her than in the villages eating grass soup and dying out of hunger or disease
Unless there was a famine, this is utterly post 70s Hollywood nonsense
Maybe she'd vampirize them young. Or she'd just eat them and replace them, the moment they started getting to mannish. But that's less cute. I want to imagine a harem of vampire boy toys, obediently following Carmilla around.
I too wouldn't mind being a small vampire child in the care of a vampire mommy. Better than being a pet like Hector was to the other one.
Either never lets them become men by turning them or she drinks them dry and replaces them...or maybe she can't bring herself to do it to them herself, so many possibilities...shame it was never explored.
Be like Peter Pan and returns them to society with their memories wiped? If they return they chances are don't remember her and will treat her like a monster.
Chances are keep the ones she really likes as vampire kids though.
Hmm, wonder if she has a vast collection and keeps them cryogenically frozen underground and thaws them out rotating as she goes.
You see, Edouard the night creature gets to keep his original soul and memories because he's black and he's gonna end up rallying the other night creatures to rise up against their masters because muh slavery.
I mean some of the night creatures were white as well under there. I'm more curious as to what Maria's dad will do now tbh.
Jacques also got to keep his memory you dumbass. It's probably because they're doing it all differently than traditional.
I thought he got to keep his soul because he went to hell and got forged right back into his fresh corpse.
We don't know, but your interpretation gives merit to the Abbot's wishes if people all over are going to hell so easily
This was the difference between Carmilla and Erzebet.
Carmilla's castle had heating, why vampire need heating unless they were trying to warm something? She had an army of vampires she probably raised, also food was brought there, which made no sense unless humans lived there too.
Then we have Erzebet. Her place is a literal horror dungeon, there's nothing other than hooks and chains and everyone, even vampires are tortured in the most abominable forms possible. And that's because she likes them. Imagine if she didn't like the person.
This is why Carmilla was better than Erzebet.
I was on shrooms while watching on my OLED TV alone at night in a cold dark room reeking of cat litter, sitting barefoot on the floor, shivering in my shawl, and all I could say whenever Maria swore
> "she's a naughty girl who needs to be spanked"
> But I also love how she's a bratty "little sister" that needs a head pat.
> I laughed when I saw Richter playing with his knives at the picnic table while the blacks were there.
But if there's some uncontroversial things I'd wish they really changed
> I wish the night sky was black with grey clouds and more white mist rather than dark blue.
> the vampires and night creatures appeared through the fog and the dark at first with growls and footsteps, then glowing eyes, then silhouettes, and only finally their body in sight when they're right in your face.
It would add to the horror of night fighting.
>get rid of those overhead shots
>make those streets narrower
> make the characters walk in a single file line down a path with the most rambunctious leading the way while the most scared following close behind and looking over their shoulder, and the cautious in the middle
I kinda wish isaac and carmilla fricked. I know he's gay but, still, in the heat of the moment?
We take the example of Lenore. She's a well treated vampire with youthful features? Who turned her? Mostly likely Carmilla and where would she find her? In taking in children. In fact, her docility and humane way of treating humans gives some reasoning that people were no harshly treated there, since maybe Lenore herself also came to the castle from that very same method.
Weren't the four Queens of Stryga all explicitly turned by the previous vampire lord, who started off okay but eventually turned into a shitbag causing Carmilla and gang to turn on him? Lenore is like Hector, she only wants pets she can control and that let her give them affection as she pleases. Like Hector that's not viewed as a great trait, and likely arose from her being abused by those nominally her equals, the same way Hector was mistreated by other humans.
No, that's only Carmilla's backstory. We don't know about the other women, besides for a bit about Lenore having been the daughter of a noble who had a revolt/coup led against him. She talked about soldiers climbing up her home castle's latrines with knives between their teeth when she was a girl.
I hate how the trailer was such a bait and switch. I thought we were going to actually get a season of Richter being a badass. And then I actually watched it and it was somehow worse than the Trevor seasons (well, maybe as good as 3).
What was wrong with Richter in this? He was fine IMO
He has one scene where he's a badass and then he says something about never being scared again, only to continue being a pussy.
How? He pretty much wins every fight except the one that introduces Annette. Running away from a fight you can't win isn't bad either.
>to continue being a pussy
There's nothing wrong with a young man being bold and brash till he faces an existential threat and after wallowing around in fear and misery, realizes he has to man up and face his fear. Character development requires having flaws ton overcome
Nta but it felt really inconsistent in a way that didn't feel natural, it's just shitty writing because they don't know what to do with his character
He's shown to be very competent early on, which would imply he's got a steel resolve that won't falter
To have him go against that and to have him be the only one with this reaction makes it feel more like shifty writing trying to disguise itself as "development" when there was no reason for it
Richter is a badass in the show, but the presence of "Annette" took away screen time from him. It seems that writers just add a new character with a slightly different personality every time they don't know what to do with the characters they have.
> We have Maria
> beautiful, bold, bratty la fille belle
> but what do we do with her for a 3 hour long season?
> here's another character!
> introducing Annette
> beautiful, bold, brat-
> but here's the catch!
> *drumroll*
> Elle est NOIR!
I wish carmilla was my vampire mommydommy and sat on my face during tea time and milked me dry nightly before a bath and bed
>W-where's my mom and sister?
>They're disp-INdisposed...I'm your mother for tonight...and it's time for bed, darling.
Frick fricking fricks
Anons, why does Mizrak dress and talk like a 11th century crusader? Isn't this the late 18th century? And why does he have a Turkish name?
He also talks about God a lot while having wholesome gay sex with a vampire. Seems like somebody's D&D OC.
>I WILL DO ANYTHING FOR GOD
could you stop fricking vampire men in the ass?
>EXCEPT THAT
Adi Shankar, the long haired Indian animation studio director, has a thing for bears. He has an upcoming cyberpunk series with another couple like that
>why does Mizrak dress and talk like a 11th century crusader?
Dumb writers. The King of France rekt the Crusader Templar Order back in the Middle Age
>Isn't this the late 18th century?
Yes. Pic related is 18th Century French Cavalry which is cool enough on its own
> And why does he have a Turkish name?
There are some French names that are weird to English ears. They are weirder than German, Scottish, and Nordic names; but not as weird as Italian names
Only thing I don't understand is juste just fricking off. Have him die in the church battle just to say Richter is truly the last Belmont.
he'll be back, will probably help Richter unlock new power levels (he still hasn't formally trained Richter)
Alucard too needs to do something or find some macguffin to deal with the OC donot steel vampire kween
also I can picture Juste walking in on Richter and Annette and deciding he'll kill himself in the next battle just because he doesn't want to see what becomes of this shit
Juste can breed with tera to give birth to Soma
>Richter, as you've seen from your enemies and allies there is a certain form of dark magic the Belmonts lack
>What do you mean?
>There's a prophecy, of the Cracker Slayer, the ultimate Belmont who finna put an end to this. Go now and hydro storm Annette till she can't walk!
>I must warn you though, my boy, that for a few generations our descendants won't even be able to so much as hold a whip let alone crack it. We will inherit great generational pain, but over time it will subside.
>Seek the Morrises, they are still of pure stock, and will be able to slay evil in our stead as we wait for the Cracker Slayer to rise
>Jonathan, you past the test and may inherent the Belmont's Vampire Killer. However there is a greater task for you.
>Anything you ask sir
>You see my descendants may not have all their faculties, prone to violent outburst and strange song
>um, okay
>In your old age I'll need you to lead him. It may be hard, but trust me he's one of the good ones.
>Wait you just mean he is black?
>Yes unfortunately it is my family's cross to bare
>No I don't think it will be that much of an issue
>Oh you know how to handle them! Splendid.
>No I mean their skin color doesn't matter
>Oh trust me having lived with one for many years I know how they can be! Don't let him near Charlotte.
>Charlotte, you seem in a great mood - what's up?
>Johnathan I'm not sure how to say this but... did you know that penises come... in different sizes?
> Richter whipping Annette in kinky raceplay
> r34 artists DO IT
>OH LAWDY MASSA BELMONT
The general lack of porn I've seen for this season despite multiple bait characters isn't a good sign for the viewership
Is this show good
No
I was expecting her to be a slave parallel but got nothing.
God shit the animation looks like it's stuttering
I never understood why they were so worried about fighting Drolta here, Richter and Maria alone were beating the shit out of her in the church before Erszebeth walked in. They probably could have killed her in the church.
>I never understood why they were so worried about fighting Drolta here
They were tired. Maria was still in shock because her mother was taken by a literal vampire, same vampire tha probably was coming to get her next. Ritcher was bruised the frick over and Annette was too sprained from the gailed magic attempt. They were gonna get fricked.
She was attacking with a full squad, Richter only managed her 1v1. Maria was down. I don't think Mizrak is much help to be honest, he needed Olrox to save him.
Annette really likes throwing that blade of hers huh? I don't think there was a fight where she didn't throw it.
It has been so long since I genuinely saw shit animation and shit direction at the same fricking time.
The Castlevania threads are Cinemaphilemblr at it's Cinemaphilemblrest. You people aren't even pretending to not be SJW trannies anymore.
half of them are Cinemaphilentrarians and a couple are tourists from twitter and there are definitely a lot of shills from netflix trying to cover for it, this kind of attitude wasnt really present in the castlevania threads a month ago or even a week ago
How do you always know these things
Cinemaphile is always Cinemaphilentrarian, a lot of the people defending this show talk and act like twitter users. As for the shill stuff, Cinemaphile has had a problem with that for years, companies coming and shilling their products here like this for example
https://desuarchive.org/_/search/boards/co.desu.meta/filename/1672003805640/type/op
>The Castlevania threads are Cinemaphilemblr at it's Cinemaphilemblrest. You people aren't even pretending to not be SJW trannies anymore.
Tumblr is still around?
you can actually see a direct line between irreedeemable coomer and person who thinks Tumblr died in 2018
I almost would want to browse tumblr now, because half the insane morons went to twitter and reddit, and it's why those websites imploded.
>The Castlevania threads are Cinemaphilemblr at it's Cinemaphilemblrest
Nuance is for Tumblrinas?
I'm so glad Castlevania is still alive and getting more fans.
It's too cool to ever go away, even if it is just nothing but Dracula fanfiction. I'm glad Nocturne turned out fun..
Coomers & libtards aren't fans.
>fans that will forget it existed in a month
haha yeah
Dracula became a vampire after renouncing his faith and making a deal with no other than the big one himself. The devil, satan himself.
Erzebet, somehow, after fricking and killing so many people out of sadism drank, which seems by accident, sekhmet and became vampire queen of the dammed.
So, you're telling me she things that some fake ass egyptian goddess, that had her ass busted by the abrahmic god himself, has a level against alucard, son of the man that made a deal with satan himself? The grat adversary of god?
She has a greater super power. Being a woman!
>a deal with satan himself? The grat adversary of god?
Weewooweewoo pop culture Christianity alert.
Why are all Abrahmists schizos?
Ra is canon in this and Erzsebet talks about him since she's conflated herself with Sekhmet since consuming her soul. I don't think this would be an easy win for Alucard.
You see anon, I wouldn't mind any of this if they explained how Erzszebeth got batshit strong.
How the frick did she even get to drink Sekhmet's blood in the first place?
The Vampire Killer affected Dracula, didn’t do shit to Bathory.
He's literally me
>Black girl targeting sounds
>Belmonts going to have some more direct godblood in their veins for the next generation
BELMONT EUGENICS holy shit, their people are going to be so fricking overpowered.
Next one will literally be the Avatar, fire, ice, wind lightning and now earth...
Gotta gotta circle round and sex Alucard and Maria's descendants for summoning. Just make them at birth more terrifying than any vampire so they just run if they hear the name Belmont
>Belmont goes black
>entire bloodline goes out for cigarettes for nearly two centuries
Coincidence?
I'm not too well versed in Castlevania lore but isn't Annette his girlfriend who is also a blonde white girl?
They basically moved all her character to Maria's mom.
who is "based" on a character that wasn't Maria's mom at all
I think they call that a composite character.
Oh frick is the black girl supposed to be Annette now? What the hell is wrong with Burgers? I couldn't even make out that this was her
you can see it in her eyes obviously
She isn't, that's the thing. She's a fighter, she's haitian, Annette was just Richter's fiancée. It's fine if you're going to introduce someone else to be his love interest in an adaptation, but maybe just make her that someone else? From the trailers themselves I was under the impression Maria's mom WAS going to be Annette, and the new haitian girl would be a new character rounding up the main cast.
She's cute.
This part was cute, I thought this and Richter showing off when they first met was just standard two young adults of the opposite sex meeting for the first time and actually realizing they have room for attraction. Not like Richter was frequently getting laid anyway.
>Not like Richter was frequently getting laid anyway.
Richter is saying himself for Olrox, it's a level of grooming we've never witnessed before
*saving
They also talk things out and grow from there, I'm fine with the flaws that piss off a lot of people, but the next approach would be not a repeat of her projecting or him running away.
Disgusting to be honest. Not even racist here. She just looks ugly.
I don't think so, cute for 2D ebony.
I feel fricking embarrassed that I finished a bunch of the games now the franchise has become this.
Just make more Carmilla and Erzebet art. I wanna see my queens back.
Yeah I hope we get some good stuff with Erzsebet, I wish we could have seen her interacting with Drolta more. Perhaps a scene with her really proud of her gaining wings at some point and taking pride in her for how strong she's become as a homage/contrast to Kain and Raziel's falling out showing the bond between her and her lieutenant was different
>Kain and Raziel
It's nice to see Castlevania fans acknowledging other vampire masterpieces
>2023
>still no new games despite Simon and Richter being in Smash and this show
>Wanting 2023 video games
Konami's basically just a holding company for their own IP now. Aside from low budget, high sales series like their weird Japanese Board Game Video Game or Bomberman, they seem content to just let other companies use their IP and get checks for it. Look at all those shitty contra games/reboots that have come out.
You'd think someone would look at how relatively well Iga did with his 2 "demakes" and 1 spiritual successor for his version and try to get some of that with Konami.
>relatively well
That's kind of the issue. Konami makes so much from other industries that just well is nothing to them. Some of their IPs will be cheap to lease, other like Castlevania are probably expensive. So unless IGA is cooking a Bloodstained gacha or battle royale that blows up I doubt we'll see Castlevania again. Well not under its real name anyway, and the protags will have smaller but milkier boobies.
>2.000.000 copies sold
Pretty impressive.
Especially considering that the big reason IGA fell out of favour with Konami is that his games were gradually selling worse and worse. Order of Ecclesia outright flopped, which is why it's fairly rare and expensive now - not many prints were actually made.
My guy there’s at least two Castlevania games heavily rumoured to be in development
I was angling at someone outside Konami seeing there was some money to be made with a Castlevania and then coming to them with a proposal to pay them money to make more money for them. Like with these
.
>new Silent Hill games
>Metal Gear remake
>new Contra
Castlevania is next.
It's always been a problem, Isaac becomes a gary stu at the expense of Hector becoming a non character, the minority shilling just got much worse because Shanette gets shilled in double for being a wahhman and black.
Did they make Richter as b***hmade as I was worried they would?
Gawd dammit n*tflix.
We wuz kangz and vampire huntas.
Maybe the issue is something other than their race then? Like I dont know the drop in written quality.
>orlox and mizrak meet for the first time and clearly has aggression against each other
>suddenly in bed in the next few minutes of the episode
What the frick? As a gay that enjoys gaysex a little context for the homosexual fricking would be nice?
>olrox tells mizrak about his former lover
>lol r u going to turn me into a vampire too?
>no i don't love you xD
>fast forward to last episode
>get off of me olrox they need help!
>no! don't! i don't want you to die 🙁
i absolutely hate what this two got going on but best believe i'm going to watch season 2 to see what the frick happens between them
>sex first, talk about feelings later
*lights cigar* That's just a typical gay relationship anon, nothing special
You seriously didn't see the blatant sexual tension between them. It wasn't exactly subtle.
I hope they introduce robspierre as a vampire and everyone realizes Abbott was right all along. That the commies are even worse . But it's flix, so I doubt that. The Terror will be blamed on capitalism
This was kinda arousing tbh.
It did felt like a huge, huge turn one whenever Sekhmet or Erzebet was around and this scene was top.
Post the despair faces Maria did when Sekhmet laid her eyes on her or asked if she was a virgin?
just finished all of the new season. not bad. a couple of the fights had a few scenes of animation where they.....they were trying to do too much too fast and it was just impossible to follow on screen, particularly when belmont starts fighting the pink succubus lady
story is an okay setup but feels a bit rushed compared to the first series. also really hated how the final boss just sort of....had a forcefield? just immune to everything because of reasons? 6 inch thick plot armor? idk. felt like a cop out.
I think while, certain things could have done better in terms of story, it's still way better fro what sick shit i had in mind if they let me direct such a show.
Regale us anon, what would your masterpiece look like
I said it would be shit.
So like a slideshow of animated excreta with the castlevania name slapped on?
You make it sound there wouldn't be much of a different from what they showed us.
>blow their entire Bloodlines load on the Richter series
this either means we're never getting John and Eric and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRKwT36fqQg
or it means Ezrbrap is going to be a multi-generation villain which is fricking GAY since Dracula only got one Belmont
What "load"? Bloodlines has the same fricking story as every other Castlevania game, and this show doesn't even abide by the details of the games anyway.
I don't know but why the frick did they make him so hot as a nightbeast?
To seduce you specifically
love Ayami Kojima's artwork
this reminds me that in the show richter always looks like he's on the verge of balding
hair hair isn't as thick and his temples aren't looking good in the show
which Simon design would they use?
this one so they can turn him black since he has redhair
Hopefully not that one. Transvestite Simon belongs in Ayami Kojima's beanflick fantasies and nowhere else.
That one for sure
The better question is how will they frick him up.
Hey, I'm only like two episodes in but mind if I share some kind of incoherent thoughts?
One of the things that I think made Castlevania better than Nocturne was that Trevor, Sylvia and Alucard were good people fighting a bad fight.
What I mean by that is that Wallachia was a regressive superstitious shithole that killed all but one of the Belmonts because they wouldn't kneel to the church and burned Draculas' wife at the stake because she knew how to do math or something. And to protect this place; Trevor, Sylvia and Alucard team up to kill Dracula, Alucard's own father and the smartest man to have ever lived.
They were good in the sense that they did what was right, but what was right was never perfect, and I think this kind of moral incongruity made the show interesting.
That's why, on paper, I wouldn't've minded a vampire story featuring the French or Haitian revolutions. Because these weren't "good" things, the French revolution spawned a government more brutal the French monarchy ever was, and the Haitian revolution was a literal racial genocide. So to watch good, noble people fight on behalf of these bad things sounds interesting.
Once again, I'm only two episodes in, but I think they dropped the ball by having Maria champion the French revolution and Annette champion the Haitian revolution with no introspection or rebuttal whatsoever. By depicting the revolutions as a universal good, not only are you wrong, but you missed the point.
And it's honestly surreal that I'm expected to root for Annette and Edouard after I watch a scene of them just killing random fleeing white people.
I agree, the Haitian revolution should have been dealt with Annette witnessing first hand how blacks overthrew their masters only to do the same, thus ensuring that the status quo continued. In the end, what did she acomplish.
And the Revolution in france should focus on Maria being a idealist, with strong beliefs only to realize the revolution itself commits atrocities far worse than those of the king.
This issue, could bring vampires and foes either together or apart. it would explain why the church sided so much with the vampire and the vampires likewise.
>the Revolution in france should focus on Maria being a idealist, with strong beliefs only to realize the revolution itself commits atrocities far worse than those of the king
Nah, I want Maria to be an idealist who ends up becoming a villain when she tries to justify the Reign du Terror et la Infernal columns en la guerre de Vendee. Then have Richter oppose Maria and have him fall to the same conclusion that
> "evil always wins"
Now THAT would be neat!
>Richter ran away like b***h
AHAHAHAHA
I wonder if Tera's magic is gonna get jacked up due to her vampirism. She wasn't very spry or nimble in her movements before so I think that's gonna change for sure.
A vampire's power comes from age and who sired them. In the case of Tera, it wasn't just a vampire. It was the progenitor herself.
I think this was more about Erzebet finding a toy or a pet to play around than actually care for powerlevels. She just wanted to break the priest's spirit by cucking him.
He should be thankful, otherwise it would have been his daughter too under Erzebet's embrace.
>no one has uploaded a Drolta LORA yet, but we already have Tera and Maria
look I know coomers don't care about black OCs but I just want to gen some images of Alucard absolutely massacring her to save Maria
Much as people cry about the historical and race swapping stuff. They could get away with all of it if they just pulled a Big Trouble in Little China. In fact I'd say Rondo is already well set up for Maria being the real main character who grows up over the course of the season, while Richter huh hah huh hydro storms in. Doesn't even need to be Rondo, they're just in France and Alucard came to so they can be cool guys around your previously rejected script.
How will they rape him this time
Maria pegs him
Maria pulls an avgn and shoves her familiars up his ass
?si=wADv1mMZsMPIHPOj&t=541
>Richter to remove shaft from your body it looks like I'll need to borrow yours for a minute
They'll make him watch Maria getting lezzed by the vampire queen. Berserk Style.
>netflix
>doing that
>ever
sooner see a flashback scene that shows us sypha's breasts.
I don't know why it took so long for him to get a fricking shirt
Hmmm...
This image, there is something on it, I'm not sure what it is.
THE INVISIBLE CAPE
stupid sexy olrox
t. Mizrak
same energy
He was taken too soon.
https://voca.ro/1jSubEyXTQYJ
daddy?
This screenshot as well, there is something, but I just can't put my finger on it.
So is it more like season 2 or is it like the other 3 seasons?
People just like finding things to complain about.
Boco is built for buck-breaking
This shit is garbage and has nothing to do with the games
This not your story anymore Chud
Time to put salt in the wound
>they wrote the worst part of the show
Lmfao this has "handout" written all over it
It didn't feel that pozzed at the start and the writing and animation got way worse for some reason.
all this shitting on the abrahamic god and elevation of fricking african zika virus deities of all things makes me appreciate the part in supernatural where all the pagan gods from all the other religions gather and lucifer (not even YHWH) walk into the room and bodies them all effortlessly
It would make sense for lucifer to slaughter the older gods in the name of his father. After all, he still loves his father, it's humanity he hates.
you sound butthurt dude
pagan gods are just weak spirits like literally leprechaun-tier
I think he just did it as a flex because in Supernatural he definitely hates God
>m-my made up God is stronger than y-yours!!!
Grow up kid, it's a cartoon.
YHWH would literally yeet zika virus god in planck time, meanwhile zika virus god couldn't so much as shove a hunk of metal through a portal
If you're worried about the Abrahmic god being taken seriously then you should read Riki-Oh (the manga, you won't much find it in the adaptations). I'm not saying this in defense of the show, I'm just saying you might get a kick out of it.
They're really Californians in cosplay costume.
it actually could pass as a screenshot from a Hamilton anime
>Character constantly say frick or shit at the end of their speech as if people are supposed to clap for it
Do burgers really
Negan for Castlevania
Richter giving "blue steel". this could have been a turning point but unfortunately he went back to sucking
He went up against the final boss with only a Part 1 power-up; of course he was going to suck.
I'm hoping we get a different final boss because Bathory's motivations are pretty shit. Show honestly hasn't had a good villain since Drac caved. At least the fight with Death was good, even if his motivations were shit.
Bathory comes across as a Caligula type, and she's going to collapse under the weight of her own insanity in time for someone else to step up and seize the reins from her. Probably Orlox.
yeah I'd be okay with Orlox, there seems to be more to him than he's letting on
damn his hands, I guess its ai
Why does strong female character mean unlikable butthole now? Annette is just a b***h.
The pagan god jerk off is fricking stupid. Why would any of the old gods be fricking relevant when nobody worships them?
These French girls, especially the redhead.
she is absolute wife material
too bad for Richter
Bad for him, good for someone I know.
The Queen of Vampires does need her harem.
>subsaharans pretending to be egyptian
>now hungarians pretending to be egyptians
egypt-bros are fricking dead inside
Eh, I don't care as long as my culture gets represented well. But I am bored by this take.
>But I am bored by this take.
your whole country seems to have a problem with getting blackwashed tho
I mean, we also got repped by white people. And we've only had one Egyptian actor who brilliantly acts beyond a token cast. The only thing usually we want is if you're going to do shit with Ancient Egypt for it to be fun, and if you're going to do post Ancient Egyptian to at least try to adhere to the strengths of the period of that country. Don't be afraid of British colonialism Egypt. Don't be afraid of Arabian Egypt.
I can't do much about the We Wuz Kangz bullshit and its frustrating, but people seem to think Egyptians are heavily darker in terms of a majority rather than mainly olive colored.
I just want to see my culture being repped as a source of inspiration. It doesn't have to be accurate and most Egyptians will agree with that. Just don't be fricking lame.
How do modern Egyptians view the classic Universal and Hammer mummy movies? Do Muzzies and Copts have a different view of the whole Ancient Egypt thing?
Goddamn, you know a lot. I respect that. I don't think opinions differ between the groups but I don't often get to talk with Copts (Outing myself here). Nobody thought it was offensive and if anything it was a point of pride that people were thinking about Egypt if that makes sense. There's no doubt people were grasping their hands in anticipation for potential tourism because of those films. It would be a different discussion if you were talking about actual mummies, I guess.
There was some recent movie about Egyptian Gods that I remember my friends and family thought was boring shit. We kinda laughed when people were apparently more mad about it being full of white people like that fricking mattered beyond execution.
She likes to hang us by the bone of our arms. Making sure we bleed slowly as possible.
It never ends, not even after you are turned.
Like a hanging piece of meat to slowly chip away. Strip by strip.
Don't want to come? That's alright, she'll get you once you fall asleep. And then next time you wake up, you wake up in the same place as us.
Best not stare too long at the pic.
I feel like this season was missing more moments like these, just really spooky/creepy shit (also compared to the last series the gore felt way toned down). Bathory was the opposite of scary, she just looked like a bad Lion-O cosplay. Hopefully we get more freaky shit with vampire Tera.
How the frick did this guy end up in his position?
dredd? before that, he got probably got bullied for being short and became a geek recluse, maybe sucked some dicks along the way (he seems zesty)
money
In some interview for the show, he talked about how his dad had an international job traveling to Japan and brought back VHS tapes of anime well before we'd get them so he definitely comes from money
His father's an extremely wealthy banking executive who basically bought him a career. It's why he traveled constantly as a kid - he's talked about how he was bullied at school when he first came to America shortly after 9/11, so it probably at least partially explains why he got so worked up by that Apu thing.
oh he wasn't even born in the US? rip
No, he's actually Indian, not an ethnic Indian from the States.
nepotism
If women had a devil of their own to fear, it would be Erzebet Bathory. The relentless killer of thousands of girls, under the pursuit of eternnal youth, came to be known as the Blood Countess by her very own subjects!
Her malice, her will to torture and dominate was by all means atrocious, even by the time she was born into.
Some say the accusations were mostly fabricated and that the bodies found inside the palace were of young girls who died of natural causes and disease, since Bathory was known to pursue medicine as a hobby. Still, the blood countess was accussed by three acomplices who admitted her crimes, even though they were confirmed under torture, and then immeditatly executed before they had a chance to be interrogated by official law sources.
Many say Bathory was betrayed and persecuted by the church of her time and because she was a wealthy woman known to lend money to the king of hungary.
Even so, her burial site remains hidden and legends say she will return when her very own
blood descendent finds her unmarked grave.
its kinda sick there are people on this board and on twitter that want bathory to rape maria
The natives still warn women and girls to avoid visiting the ruins of her castle or the alleged place she was buried. Especially at night.
I just want Maria to get b***hslapped so hard in the face that she turns into a 3d model and gets ragdolled across the room à la source engine or GTA chicanery. She's a soapbox for the writers and I hate her.
she's basically "HAHAHA I'M A GENIUS.... ACK- OH NOOOOO" the character
I want her whole shtick to be torn down infront of her. Doesn't matter who. I just hate what they did to Maria. And they could've at least just swapped tera's and Annete's names. Would've made sense given the latter's earthly powers and Annette in Dracula X specifically is related to Maria (despite the port not being cannon).
That's cause Maria is literally what Erzebet liked in her victims. She beautiful, young, educated, peasant, virgin and above all, her opposite.
Maria is not food, she's the dessert.
I bet it's vampires. Gotta be.
It's probably either that vampire or the incubus from the 2008 radio drama.
>its kinda sick there are people on this board and on twitter that want bathory to rape maria
She's the original offering. And Bathory made it personnal. Tera's older sister, now Tera, eventually Maria.
Bathory/Tera/Maria threesome when?
that is a similar story to vlad the impaler
he stuck his enemies on long spikes to demoralize them, and his enemies hated him so much they created myths and lies about how evil he was
She was his cousin.
it was always forced but the show also dropped in quality tremendously
Anon...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Italianism
So what is Dracula up to in this continuity?
off in hawaii with his wife
Or dead after following his wife to the afterlife.
Yeah but it's been 300 years and Lisa presumably died again, hopefully of old age, and they implied that they'd tell Alucard at one point. I was asking where is he in 1792.
I'm speculating but I think his wife turned into a vampire, so she can stay with him
It kinda defeats the forbidden love point of the relationship and his refusal to do so in retrospect to Carmilla's questioning.
It's either that or she goes to hell.
if the current season is anything to go by, the writers don't care about consistency or quality
prolly anhero'd
or he'll save alucard and kill sekhmet in another deus ex machina moment like pic rel
Last we've seen him he was resurrected together with his wife. They were together in hell.
Can we take a second to just point how that Coppola's Dracula is terrible.
Okay, but was the sodomy necessary?
you living under a rock?
people had problems with that since the forgemaster was a gay black man in the fist serie.
(not that the original forgemaster was any less gay, mind.) blackwashing and ginger genocide, pretty hilariously transparent to be honest.
>no olrox dick shot
Did they play any of the music from the games?
yeah when richter got his groove back
I feel like there's a certain sort of Japanese insanity in the CV games that the show doesn't replicate. Like for instance, how Soma comes into conflict with a demonic anime Edward Scissorhands who can stop time and uses Dio Brando moves. And his motivation in wanting to kill Soma? A year prior Soma killed the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland who he met in Dracula's Castle that was sealed into a solar eclipse.
jules belmont is going to need a funk version of this
Fricking lol
I haven't watched it yet, why are general audiences mad? Or is it just much worse? I'd be surprised if it's down to fans of the games since they wouldn't be numerous enough to tank ratings of a mainstream television show.
The Vanillaware dude wanted to do one iirc
I'd be surprised if George can pull of a platformer, never seen him even try
They made Richter a soft eboy twink so even Twitter is against diversity when they put him with Anette. People on reddit are arguing for the Catholic church it's been strange to follow.
>general audiences
Don't look to open user review for a real audience reaction. Independent of any level of actual quality in this show, it got review bombed to hell for all the reasons this thread already went over.
I know a few years back two guys made 2 castlevania fan games set between Harmony of Dissonance and Rondo. They're called the Lecarde Chronicles, and apparently got ""blessings"" by Konami. haven't played the first, 2nd one's like an improved version of Simon's quest
They even got Alucard's OG voice actor in there.
>, and apparently got ""blessings"" by Konami.
why is Nintendo so fricking gay in comparison to other based jap companies
Ignoring the fact the fact they aren't even following the games anymore.
>shit animation
>shit writing
>shit characters
>homosexual knight fricks a vampire in the ass
>acts offended that the priest has a daughter
Heterosexuals bad
Maybe Mizrak has a certain interpretation of his tenets? To him it doesn't count since it's between a man and men can't bear offspring. And he was in the dominant position.
If Alucard doesn't get to tap Maria´s nubile body, I'm going to riot
this is netflix, dw, they're all about that shit
I just want ONE ballroom scene it's a fricking dracula show you are in France now come on guys.
you WILL settle for twerking and you WILL enjoy it
If they do a ballroom scene Fate to Despair or Dance of Pales better play
It's all Tumblr Alucard fangirls in the writing room you might get exactly this. Maria is the perfect self insert "bossgirl but wants a dominant stoic dhampir bf" character. They even made her 17 here instead of 12 or whatever and there will no doubt be a time skip.
>made her 17 here instead
this makes the "she got her bong accent from Richter" make even less sense since it means she would've been... 10 already when they met
The accents have never been correct who said that?
Isnt Castlevania literally our world?
Havent watched yet but I remember people here shitting on pic related for race swapping and he ended up being amazing, so I dont trust their outrage, not even for a second
Isaac was unfathomably based. I'm glad we got to see the oppression olympics play out on-screen in gay black man vs pedo white karen. But I don't feel Annette is on that level. Not yet, at least. She's sometimes endearing, sometimes just a shitty person. It depends on how she grows.
I want him to be alive somehow they made him the best character and then ended the story at the start of his.
the priest was completely out of his depth in terms of devil forgemastery, it would be interesting for isaac to show up - arriving from his remote island where he lives with his innocent devils - to liberate all the night creatures
how is he still alive? idk maybe dracula visited him, he was loyal after all
Isaac's kingdom is either going to be Edouard's final sanctuary where he leads the other liberated night creatures, or where he goes to bring back reinforcements for the group.
good point, I was wondering why the frick they wasted so much screen-time on him, especially since the night creatures are largely useless to sekhmet
If anything, his kingdom would definitely be a shithole.
pozzed Black person garbage
>nocturne animation is worse than the pilot episodes
lmao
I wonder what the new writer Zodwa Nyoni looks like.
>New writer
Did they not have the writers from the first few seasons?
Warren Ellis got #MeToo'd. Powerhouse hated him (people thought creatively but given the writing in Nocturne apes his Whedon with swearing-style, that's doubtful) and took the chance to ditch him.
oh kek
it also perfectly lines up with them not using the whip after richter gets BLACKED
You mean Annette gets BLEACHED. Or Richter gets NTR'd by her turning into a vampire or nightcreature
Isn't Soma Cruz meant to be Japanese?
he's a european exchange student living in Japan
given his name I would assume spanish
In the Japanese release, yes. It's why his childhood sweetheart is a Shinto shrine maiden. In the international release he's a foreign exchange student but it's intentionally never said where so he can be a self-insert.
[HIGH IMPACT SEXUAL VIOLENCE]
black kweens, now is our chance
Damn Castlevania really brought out all the wannabe Nazis. Embarassing
Why did they make Annette ugly? They could've made her a cute mulatto.
muh realism
>show about vampires and undead creatures conjured from Hell
>with magic
>and mythological gods
>realism
I wouldn't have minded if she was cute and had big assets like the source material
And a long giraffe neck?
If she's cute, I don't mind
This albino homonculi is what people wanted Annette to look like?
honestly she's pretty cute all things considered
her personality just sucks sometimes
Racist. That's just how black women look like
I would breed her
But she is.
God i need a wank
God, reading about people complaining about castlevania because of black character reeks of dwelling basement virgins. The kind of guys who were bullied by Tyrone during their formative years.
Cinemaphile being the only board on Cinemaphile that likes black women never ceases to amuse me
I mean it makes sense, wanna get the best athletic genes so your kids are better at sports than you are
Why?
I didn't have any issue. The show was alright. The two girls are cute and Richter, Justus and Alucard are badass
>Justus
fricking secondaries
