Let's have one thread discussing the show that doesn't mention the word race or gay.
Drolta best girl
>right-hand woman of the main villain >ancient and extremely powerful >capable of holding her own against multiple experienced vampire killers >killed instantly just to give Alucard a cool introduction scene
Disappointing. Same thing happened with the cool Russian vampire who was instantly killed just to show off Richter's powerup. What's the point of having cool villains if their entire purpose is to die like b***hes just to show off how overpowered the protagonists are?
Bruh they're already doing the whole "monsters can remember their lives as humans and gain back their soul" thing with Edouard, 100% chance they'll do a scene where vampire Tera is about to attack Maria and suddenly gets sad because she remembers who she used to be.
Yeah but back then it wasn't a major plot point. The fact that Edouard is getting a lot of focus and that he's even able to bring back other monsters to their more human side is really significant, it's not something they can just let lie as a background element.
She'll fight at at first, but like an addict. Bathory will offer her a bleeding person and she'll jump on him or her. Young vampires have little or no self control.
She'll probably feel awful afterwards.
All three seasons of the first Castlevania had cool vampires that died the instant they faced the main cast, and most didn't get as much screen time or lines if any. Godbrand was the most interesting character in season 2 and he gets killed without even a fight scene.
and Drolta was getting smacked around by Richter at the end of the church fight. She probably would have died if the main villain didn't show up.
It makes sense. Drolta was the main villain for the first part and led up to the real big bad. She gets killed off to wrap up chapter 1 with hope they can defeat the greater evil.
I for one am glad that fiction has come full circle and realized that overpowered protagonists are the best. People mocked Superman for being invincible in the early 20th Century, and now in the 21st, the biggest and most popular ones are the most popular like Saitama and Satoru Gojo.
I mean, realistically, why would you need a Belmont when you have Alucard? They're much harder to write for. Even the Lords of Shadow games showed that humans can't do anything.
Im going to be honest, my favorite part of the previous season was how, once the main characters actually got to fighting, they just fricking rolled everything. It meant the rest of the show was meaningless politics, but you could really see why they would be terrified of a belmont with how quick he slaughtered all of them.
To be fair if you watch Netflix shows just to complain about how Netflixie they are, your a super giga homosexual. Someone who seeks ways to be angry about mid shit is on a lonely road in life.
Some had small hopes that with Ellis gone, they would at least quit it with the fedoratipping, but they double it down to the point it felt like a revenge fic toward all of the people who criticized this aspect of the original series.
Quite an upgrade from Bloodlines where she was just a tiny old hag who pops out in between Dracula's two phases, and unless you had the Japanese manual, you wouldn't even know who she was and just assumed it was Drac in a middle form.
Watching episode 4....goddamn the writers really hate the catholic church. That was already clear in the previous series, sure, but the first episode gave me hope that they would add some degree of ambiguity at the very least, but nope
>Oh no, a historically terrible organization that spread nothing but death and misery is not portrayed as the bastion of holy goodness?
What next we going to be mad about Nazi's being bad guys in most WW2 movies?
The Church is defined not by itself, but by the people. As an entity to itself it's incapable of any wrongdoing as it is inanimate.
But people are. The group YOU belong to. The group you support and give power to via governance, the ones that created TWO world wars in the last century that created over 100 million deaths.
Not him but the church still offers certain teachings and beliefs that can be interpreted in a malicious manner, as well as refusal and ignorance of darwinian findings that can lead an individual to a blind and obedient faith, which the pastor can then manipulate to his own liking. Not everyone shares this fate of course, my friend was able to resist the brainwashing somewhat, and can still be critical of the church albeit only as an institution. But still, he didn't deserve this poison being shoved down his throat. Other people are not so lucky. Don't kid yourself, you're still being injected with passed-down meme propaganda that some ancient cult leaders wrote in the desert.

Oh no my friend, you got it all wrong. There's being skeptical of scientific research which I can absolutely understand and nowhere did I imply that you must trust it, but then there's ignoring actual reality like fetal similarity and vestigial organs, on our ears for example.
Acceptance of darwinian findings can turn someone into a serial killer hellbent on murdering all subhuman. ANYTHING can be interpreted either a malicious intent so so don't act like this is a uniquely religious problem
You're correct, but at least science doesn't advocate anything, it's still on your own that you decide to kill people or "subhumans".

one could say the exact same of religion, its your own interpretation that you decide to kill people
Wrong. Pastors do advocate certain things in their churches. They tend to help out and speak in favor of conservative parties. Science by itself is a collection of facts most of which you can see and test on your own. It does have some spokesmen but let's not pretend Niel Degriesse Tyson is spreading any harmful ideology.
I get the community leader raped you too hard or whatever. But this isn't father Goldberg's Saturday school it's Castlevania. God and the Devil are real and there's enough evidence for even commoners to believe in him. The church wasn't created as an institution for sinister reasons of control because the things it preaches are now literal fact in universe.
Struck a nerve, did I? >God and the Devil are real and there's enough evidence for even commoners to believe in him. The church wasn't created as an institution for sinister reasons of control because the things it preaches are now literal fact in universe.
Way to disprove yourself in the same sentence. If lying to the people about the existence of greater beings that can smite you if you don't follow their idea of good isn't sinister, I don't know what is. It's downright saturday morning cartoon villain stuff.

I remember once having a discussion with a professor who happened to be israeli about how we should be “humbled” in what we do not know. Without missing a beat he said that “Humble” was a word with heavy Christian connotations usually denoting an acceptance of all regardless of rank or privilege (in this case those in the know and those not in the know). Makes you think of how we use other words including “regret” “shame” “forgiveness” in daily conversations.
Whether you think of ‘the church’ as an institution or as the social melange engulfing everything else it touches. Basically all western (read:now world) philosophy, all ‘secular’ ideals about the world with gravity are downstream of Christianity.
>that spread nothing but death and misery
Thats not true and even I, a non catholic, know that its not that clear cutted. Either way I never said I expected them to be good guys, but I hoped they would at least stand against the vampires in a genuine way
>ambiguity >during the French Revolution
The Church's overflowing corruption was part of what fueled it.
Again, never said I hoped to see them as good guys, them being pro aristocracy is completely fine, but doing deals with deviles and helping vampires is just really taking a piss on them
Those guards would have been lower class. In real life they joined the revolution and nobody was there to defend the priests getting their heads chopped off. They weren't atheists or creole ancestor worshipers for doing it they just didn't like church officials and rightfully so. There isn't a single good Christian in the entire show it makes you wonder why God lets Richter throw grand crosses around at the end.
They could show the church being historically corrupt. Why are lowly church guards ready to die to defend vampires and hellspawn?

>stopped the american indians from getting enslaved
No it didn't. Indigenous people in mesoamerica where the catholic church operated were enslaved and forced to destroy their cities, bury them, and build Spanish style ones on top. Tons of infrastructure like the aquaducts never got repaired either. Not to mention that the catholic church passed a bunch of papal decrees like the doctrine of discovery which allowed Indigenous people to be dispossessed of their land (this shit still gets cited in court cases in the Americas and was a large part of the reason why the Indigenous people kept pushing the pope to verbally state that they were rescinded when the pope recently traveled to Canada to apologize for the genocide they enacted against them).
>Oh no, a historically terrible organization that spread nothing but death and misery is not portrayed as the bastion of holy goodness?
Not even Catholic, but you owe pretty much everything you hold dear to the Church protecting ancient knowledge and encouraging learning throughout the previous millennium.
Galileo thought the tides happened once a day at the same time everyday. He was rightly condemned for trying to force everyone to accept his theory without proof. The most important scientists of the era from Albert Magnus to Robert Grosseteste were associated with the church.
>atheists and scientists
Even the devoutly Christian scientists?
No, of course not, after all, I'm sure they actually weren't responsible for their discoveries and just stole it all from the brave put upon atheists.
You're views are as childish as they are ignorant. You just repeat the same tired oversimplified GOTCHAS that your preachers in the Church of Pop Science feed to you, never doing an ounce of research for yourself, nor do you extend any understanding to those who you have been told to hate.
I'm not going to argue with a spiteful child. You are wrong, and it is literally just taht simple.
you do realize these people were religious because of the culture they grew up in and not because of evidence or science. there is a reason that the more scientific and advanced a society is the less religious it is. 3rd world shitholes = 100% religious. modern countries with quality goods and services = atheist

Like, not only is he simply wrong. Like wrong hard, period, full stop, Tolkien was a CATHOLIC in a time when the average Christian in his country hated them because they were all Protestants.
Not only that, but apparently he missed the part of LORD OF THE RINGS where the HOBBITS save the fricking world. Not proud warriors with a vital culture of honorable war. Not the Elves. Not the Dwarves. Not even Men.
Middle Earth is saved by the MERCY that Frodo showed to Gollum. Mercy for a depraved enemy, out of recognition that his sin was not his own, but something inflicted upon him by evil. It's the most Christian fricking thing in literature short of a wise man dying and then returning to life in--oh wait that's in LOTR too.
No, no. The effete worship of pirates--which is all that Norse Paganism is tbh--had no more presence in Tolkien's works than the Castlevania TV show has with Castlevania.

It's sheer fact, if you're a sapient being you're more likely in a simulation than actual world. For every real world that has an advanced species there will be potentially infinite simulated ones. And you do realise most modern day athiests or irreligionists are like that because of the culture they grew up in and not because of evidence or science?
>despite attempts by the church to silence all other voices such as Galileo
The church was wrong to treat Galileo like it did. Not because he was right and they were wrong. They both were wrong and Galileo's true contributions to scientific history have nothing to do with heliocentrism. Not because it was the close minded traditions of the church trying to stifle enlightened scientific progress. Galileo's actual theories were unsubstantiated, and the wrong direction in the end, and tried to pass off amateur theology as evidence. No, the Catholic Church was wrong because they mixed politics and religion, which has always been the Church's sin: it's a materialistic, powerful organization that hides behind claims of moral authority to protect its many, many petty abuses of power. Galileo was a dick, and made enemies of almost every friend he ever had, not the least of which was the Pope who finally smacked him for it. They also got him for daring to horn in on their gig of interpreting scripture. That he was merely branded a cook, which he was, and confined to house arrest was still a gross injustice and abuse of power by a powerful theological structure but also much, much better than some less protected people got away within the bloody world of Italian and Catholic political infighting.
The whole, actual affair of Galileo, and heliocentrism in general, is utterly fascinating and people should read about it: >http://tofspot.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-great-ptolemaic-smackdown.html
The history of scientific, and religious, development is complicated, nuanced, and vulgar. Involving the well meaning and malicious intentions of thousands of people all jockeying and screwing each other over under the dying carcass of a major political institution and its own internal interest groups warred with each other and co-opted certain developments and philosophies to fight each other.
Most scientists across human history were religious, in fact many were so religious that they were seen as heretics or nutjobs. Modern-day chemistry entirely come from alchemy, a profession that was rightfully disdained and scorned as a waste of money for fools
It's hilarious how people completely misunderstand this shit still to this day. Galileo was not excommunicated and arrested from the Catholic Church due to his findings on "Heliocentrism" on any genuine level, he was shitcanned for disrespecting the Bishop, the most powerful man and the Bishop got mad salty and was looking for any reason to get back at him. This has always been a myth pushed by shitty grade teachers who know shit about history
>atheists and scientists are actually owed that credit despite attempts by the church to silence all other voices such as Galileo
Funny thing, Isaac Newton will burn you for saying stuff like that.
>female teachers rape kids more >the Priests that rape kids are homosexual, the majority of their victims are male on male, it's why Catholics tried to raise the alarm about the homosexual pervert infiltration of the Church
But I don't think you want to have an honest discussion about that. Also while I'm not a fan of the Catholic Church, a reminder that there is no organization that has ever been as charitable. Also a reminder that on average your average local church has objectively done more for the homeless then any secular charity statistically

You a putting the blame on homosexualry itself, and not on how the institution is structured in a way that any psycho that reaches the rank can have easy power over boys. That’s because there is a higher standard of moral decency attributed to the church. People of the clergy are meant to transcend human desire in order to serve the highest attainable justice. When they deviate from this, it is viewed as the most grossly obscene form of hypocrisy imaginable.
Teachers are still held in the same realm of “flawed human beings” as the rest of society. What they do is wrong, sure, but they don’t pretend to be perfect people. The Church, on the other hand, is meant to embody the closest thing to perfection that we can conceive of. And that’s why they get lampooned ad nauseam when there are scandals involving their institution.

That thing with the Rabbis sucking the baby’s dick after circumcising them is a tradition (an admittedly fricking weird one) and it doesn’t cause public outrage as a result. If the Rabbis are caught molesting innocents and that knowledge is made public, people will indeed find it to be grossly obscene. However, since the dominant religion in the West is Christianity, the outcry won’t reach the same level as it would if these atrocities were performed by members of the Christian clergy. People will be disgusted, no doubt, but that disgust will fade away quicker seeing as how they already view the israeli religion to be inferior to their own, and so it come as no surprise to them that there are degenerates within their ranks.

No they weren't. In fact they were the ones who collected and burned all the Maya books in a fire so big that you could see it from Cuba. What they did do was send their doods out to make records of specific parts of Indigenous culture and religious belief entirely for the purpose of converting the Indigenous people. The records they made are shit-tier and often have a very poor or no understanding of very basic Mesoamerican philosophical worldviews, conflating distinct terminology and introducing mistranslations that persist to today. The Catholic church also did a bunch of ridiculous stunts like the bizarre Mary painting thing that they used as propaganda to claim that she appeared as a miracle in mesoamerica (shitty draft versions of the fake have also been found). That's what the whole "virgen de guadalupe" thing is -- and it's worth noting that at the time the church was super mad because the Indigenous people were using terminology that they used for their own religious worldviews when worshiping at that church and the Catholics couldn't figure out if they were actually continuing their own religious beliefs or if they were worshiping their shitty constructed "miracle".
Moreover, things only got worse as their stranglehold increased. Eventually they started setting up their Indigenous residential/boarding schools, often with the help or support of local governments and in those institutions they burned everything the children came with including their clothes, and banned everything about their culture/religion including their language. Of course, these sorts of bans were nothing new to the church and it had practiced them all over the Americas for ages.
You'd have to be real fricking dumb to think that Catholics wanted anyone to keep their culture or religion.

lol, don't bother with that tard. Mexico is only about 200km from Cuba. >The Church's overflowing corruption was part of what fueled it.
The church was targeted because the freemasons and ~~*bankers*~~ who financed the revolution wanted to eliminate all threats to their power. If you unironically believe that a bunch of proto-communists staged a bloody coup because they believed in "muh democracy" then you might be an actual moron.
Not saying whether they're right or wrong, but why on Earth would you expect a bunch of hard left-wing Brits and Americans to have anything but disdain for Christianity? I mean the lead writer is literally a card-carrying member of England's Trotskyism party
Well, at least we had Mizrak. But Nocturne’s priest is even worse than the OG one.
As for the people in the replies to this post, no one denies the church did a lot of fricked up shit, but many of them were not like this and were just killed because of believing in God. And the French Revolution brought nothing but unstability and multiple changes of government in the century which followed (three different monarchies and three republics lmao)
I liked Maria being gung ho for the revolution but it would have hit harder if they showed why she was so for it instead of explaining it because people unfamilar wiht the history will not have a good context of the period and what peasants were going through. It seems like they're not doing RichterxMaria so that's interesting.
I thought Olrox was pretty cool. I liked that he was avenging his lover. I wonder if Richter will actually take revenge.
I hope they expand on why Julia would kill a good vamp.
I liked Richter more than I thought I would. Good moveset.
I liked Annette. I wish there was a bit more nuance with Carribean slave aspect, but its whatever.
Edouard was cool. I'm glad they incorporated his opera background. That fight where his vocals played was really cool.
Drolta was ehh. Generic evil 2nd in command
Erzebet is a cool contrast to Dracula. She's the pinnacle of colonization and exploitation. I don't get how her Sekhmet powers work. Egyptian gods are real?
I am shocked the Abbot survived until the end. I am glad there is some nuance to his character but goddamn dude, helping vampires over atheists? What an idiot
At least as far as the games are concerned, the Christian God and Devil are very real and top of the heap, with many other mythological gods and entities existing but being a lot lower in the pecking order. For instance, the Hindu fire god Agni is a boss in a few games and his bestiary description is "A primitive god of fire, captured by Dracula's magic."
Dracula in the games started as your pretty standard Bela Lugosi/Christopher Lee pastiche Halloween vampire but as the story started becoming more and more batshit in that overtly Japanese way, he ended up as an extremely powerful sorcerer that was pretty much at the point of ringing in the Apocalypse. So he'd originally start off by stealing your girlfriend and flying off into the sky with an 8-bit soundbite of evil laughter would play but then later ended up quite literally being the Castlevania universe's equivalent of the anti-Christ
While there certainly was an element of repetition there (Order of Ecclesia tried to shake things up a bit but it was too little too late) the OG series died off because 2D platformers were rapidly being seen as passe and overtly Japanese games were falling out of fashion. Also it didn't help that Konami'd killed it off completely by the time of the indie Metroidvania resurgence of the mid-2010s.

I will miss the gothic aesthic and Western monster mashup. Now I gotta get my fix from Souls games
>he ended up as an extremely powerful sorcerer
This is a byproduct of Dracula being the final boss. It's there even in the first game. He's the final boss because he's the most famous movie monster and they justified it after the fact with fireballs and teleporting.
Castlevania's "story" was always cobbled together hackery. Even the cover of the original game admits it without shame.

He means how the original game's cover is just a copy of a Frazzetta piece. Early CV was just a mash-up of movies the devs liked - remember that before all the JRPG and anime stuff it started out as "Conan the Barbarian borrows Indiana Jones' whip and goes after the Universal monsters"

Tbf, she does kind of explain why she believes in it in her first appearance with the speech shives gives the villagers. She's definitely got some rose-colored glasses on with regards to the revolution, but she's only 16 and I doubt the show is actually going to say it was a bad thing that shouldn't have happened. She kind of reminds of Sypha and what she went through in a way.
Yeah but seeing it is different from being told. Most Americans have no idea how fricked France was at the time so it might come off flat considering we never actually see any struggling French. We get soldiers and people in a bar having a good time. There is no dissenting voice in the main party so yeah I guess its going for a revolution good unless Alucard says different
I can't imagine Alucard having a problem with it especially considering the French nobility are actively working with vampires. He might make some accurate prediction about the reign of terror though, just because he's been around for so long and he's seen the good and bad sides of humanity.
Edouard is pretty cool, I didn't expect them to use him in the way that they had. I remember watching the second episode and thinking to myself "Oh, the VA must be a talented singer IRL and they're giving him a big scene right here. Major Death Flag." And of course it happened. What I didn't see coming was how they still included him and made his singing a plot point. Him and Jacques (and whoever the mouthy one is supposed to be) need to just join Team Richter already.
I see people not liking this version of Bathory, but to be fair, you don't have a huge amount to work with. If you base her around the IRL Bathory you have to tie her to Hungarian period geopolitics, if you base her around the game version from Bloodlines she's nothing but one of Dracula's two-dimensional cronies working behind the scenes to resurrect him yet again and if you base her on old horror movies like Countess Dracula you're just left with a vanity-driven serial killer with some minor supernatural trappings.
>Episode 5 >Black chick points out how crosses work because vampires fear Jesus
Please make your fricking mind, writers, is the christian god real or not?
It was never in doubt, you didn't pay attention to the show if you thought otherwise. There's even a seen in the first series where a Night Creature openly talks about God and how He works
He compared them to one, didn't say that's what they were. You can't "evolve" when you come into being by drinking blood. C'mon dude. Also it was just a reference to the novel Blindsight.
They have a zombie priest weaponize holy water in the first show, I thought it was pretty much admitting religion was a shame in this universe.
He was purified through death and was working in penance as explained with how Forgemasters work and the act of making water holy is explicitly good, not sure how you see this as bad or a sham.
It was never proven, to me they were just talking shit to the priest, same goes to holy water since it could just be magic. This is the first time the show straight up says vampires fear jesus and we see it being proven
IDK would Annette know that's not how it actually works? She's not from a line of vampire hunters like Trevor was. She didn't even know who Dracula was.
She says she studied them. Dunno how she got the info though, maybe copies of books from the Belmont library were spread around the world or she met other vampire hunters
IDK would Annette know that's not how it actually works? She's not from a line of vampire hunters like Trevor was. She didn't even know who Dracula was.
Annette specifically mentions having studied more about vampires in her confrontation with the plantation owner. She made an aside about discover their weaknesses to crosses.
>Oh no, a historically terrible organization that spread nothing but death and misery is not portrayed as the bastion of holy goodness?
What next we going to be mad about Nazi's being bad guys in most WW2 movies?
Watching episode 4....goddamn the writers really hate the catholic church. That was already clear in the previous series, sure, but the first episode gave me hope that they would add some degree of ambiguity at the very least, but nope
The theme of the show: >Christianity is great and objectively good, but Christians suck
I'm Catholic myself, but there's some truth to that. I'll just be a better Catholic.
The people offended by that should reexamine themselves and see if they're personally using Christian symbols like a unbanned swatiska to hate on minorities or if they're acting Christ-like by being charitable, pleasant, forgiving, and benevolent.
The writers of the show are warning people not to blindly trust Christians as there have been plenty of meanspirited ones. They wouldn't do that if Christians were good to them.
I mostly agree with you and with general criticisms of the Church but even I think the show's a bit wishy-washy on conveying its stance. I don't need even need to a see wholesome "good" Christian character be in the right, it's just most members of the church we see are corrupt buttholes or so stupid they might as well be corrupt. I think Tera maybe counts? OTOH anons here seem to think even being a little critical of Christianity means shitting on it. Sypha was faithful too IIRC she was just like "yeah but God doesn't like Speakers lol".
We already had plenty of that in season 1, and the fact that they tried to emulate anime style just makes the "church bad" discourse come out as even more of a cliche.
>The writers of the show are warning people not to blindly trust israelites as there have been plenty of meanspirited ones. They wouldn't do that if israelites were good to them.
Not one single depiction of Christianity in this show has ever been positive. NOT ONE SINGLE FRICKING ONE.
You're a blind fricking moron if you think there is absolutely any nuance to the writers when they shove their utter clear hatred for Christianity in your fricking face. Imagine being so fricking braindead that you think Warren Ellis had good intentions whenever he tips his fricking fedora.
I know the first series had multiple seasons but I was hoping they’d wrap things up this go around
Hate waiting, fricking drip feed homosexualry, can’t stand it
That being said, good team up, but I know it will be ass, just like this season
>ugly potato nose
I mean, she is black? Thats usually the type of nose they have, but to me they did it pretty well, they gave her black features without making her look ugly, wich is what stuff like video games do npwadays when trying to make "realistic blacks"
>Trevor:Vampire hate crosses because right angles mess with their brains >Drolta: Christian symbolism doesn't really affects me, just the sunlight TEE HEE
>Anette: I KNOW YOUR BIG SECRET, CROSSES FRICK VAMPIRES UP. EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT CHRISTIAN IN ANY WAY, IT JUST WORKS
The way this show wants to have its cake and eat it too is so fricking obnoxious. Sometimes vampire tactics is just science based and not actually religious in any way but when the africa witch is killing the slaver white vampire, crosses are inherently holy regardless of the source.
Isn't that incredibly convenient. And still against the established ruleset. Crosses don't do criminal profiling, they either are religious symbols that affect vampires or they're not. Pick a fricking lane and don't justify shit netflix writing.
Granted, the past seasons had the *exact* same problem so they're, if anything , consistent.
There was literally no indication that the crosses had any real power outside what she physically did to them to trap him. The whole point was using the symbol because he believed in it.
Right, but there is no indication if that was supernatural or merely from her rapid manipulation of the material.

Redditvania's depiction of Christianity in the first season was a huge red flag but I was willing to give it a chance, but it only got worse from there. I can't believe this show still has an audience.
More like he grew up too fast just in time to see his life fall apart and his dad go crazy and then the only two friends he's ever made leave him alone after they all kill his dad. In the games IDK, all I know is he ends up fricking Maria.
In the games he'd become an emotional wreck after being forced to put his psycho dad down (not long after he had to bury his mother, too) so he seals himself away and only wakes up in time for Symphony. After that, it's not really written what he did for the next ~300 years but he took part in the Battle of 1999 and by the time of the Sorrow games he's working as a glowie for the Japanese government.
Nice headcanon
m8 what did you think all that Dark Lord swank in DoS was about.
>what did you think all that Dark Lord swank in DoS was about
Not the "Apocalypse" or whatever the frick you were talking about
The way you're embellishing things is pretty cringe, Castlevania never took itself too seriously
I liked it how Celia's scheme is ostensibly to create a new Dracula to balance out God but then the manual just outright says that he's only doing it because she fears her own magic will disappear without Dracula in the world. What a b***h.
Alucard echoes the whole ying-yang thing in Aria's ending. As the other anon points out, Castlevania story under Igarashi got pretty bloated and stupid the more shit he tried to cram in.
>Keep on searching for pic of the scene in question >Find a bunch of thumbnails calling saying that he character change is woke >Even though(as far as I've watched) she is less "woke" than the blond chick
Thats kind of funny
Annette and Maria both believe in the same things at the end of the day, but Annette has actually fought in a revolution and suffered the full weight of the circumstances that led to it. Maria in comparison has had an easy enough, sheltered life whose experience amounts to giving speeches and sassing the abbot.
>Annette and Maria both believe in the same things
Kinda but not really. Havent finished the show yet but even Annette's mentor talks about how the french revolution wont seek freedom for them, its just 1 european system replacing another, while Annette opposed a natural order that was ultimately just a made up thing and not truly natural, wich fits better with the plot and is presented in a better way with both the sun scene and her mentor's talk about ancestors, hell those scenes even fit as a counterpoint to Richet's grandad loser talk
Lost half the frames there.
Why don't they have inbetweeners for this animator to help his animation.
Because they are extremely talented but their work needs more frames to be smoother, otherwise it is like I am blinking every millisecond.
they were talking about languages and their knowledge but Syfa still preffered the drunk chad bully Trevor over the basedboy beta cuck twink alucard lmao.
Blood of a mage and a holy man run through her veins giving her access to a holy realm.
She's not the only one in Castlevania to do it but she is famous for it, Alucard gets some familiars and a Rod that lets him summon stuff in SotN.
The animals are her familiars, familiars are a thing in the games but there was never a "magic realm" aspect to it - that part was invented by the show.
Maria has familiars based on the Four Holy Beasts from Chinese mythology, and let's just say that one of those beasts hasn't appeared in the show yet. You can look it up and see which one that is.
>Chinese mythology, and let's just say that one of those beasts hasn't appeared in the show yet. You can look it up and see which one that is.
arn't there 2 dragons?
Youd think some of the people involved in the Vendee rebellions were vampires they impaled infants on spears, flooded entire town squares with blood from guillotines and cooked human lard in pots
Can't help but feel if this design wasn't black and it wasn't a western production. Then half the people praising this design would be moaning about bad porn ocs being forced into the show.
I'm not huge on every game design, but I think the ones that do stray modern at least have some level of gothic detail. CV is all over the place like that, sometimes a design is just very monster movie. That's at least speaking a horror language though. Drolta is just working off nothing, its just a very modern look. They could've leaned on 80s exploitation films for some sort of sexy but horror. Just has nothing going for it other than getting twitter posts going >oooohhh yass slay the c**tness
>Another vidya adaptation series ruined by massive fedoratipping or forced progressivism >Bunch of atheists and leftards who never played a single CV game in their lives now dickride this show like they’ve always been old fans
Anyone bothering with DMC adaptation at this point is getting what they fricking deserve.
Shankar had a falling out with Ellis and the rest of the CV staff after S4 and presumably that same staff will have nothing to do with DMC.
Take that how you will.
Yeah, he fell out with Ellis and then actually sued a couple of the producers because he claims they went behind his back and screwed him on the Nocturne deal. No idea if it was thrown out or what, I don't think it was ever mentioned again but he has nothing to do with Nocturne and by his own admission had very little to do with seasons 3 and 4 of the original series - though given he's a money man and glorified hype merchant, who knows how much he had to do with any of it beyond getting the original deal with Netflix.
I usually attributed any of the stuff that was from the games making it into the show as his doing, tbh. He seemed to be one of the few actual fans on the staff, especially compared to Ellis.

Well I suppose we can say he dodged a bullet if even twitter is turning on Nocturne
as long as Dante is still cool in the DMC show the way he is in the games, then it'll be infinitely better than Netflixvania
Twitter's not really turning on Nocturne, I check the tag every now and then and most responses are overall positive. A lot of the hype was around Drolta, Olrox and Alucard though.

Some Netflix lackey wrote the tweet and it's not a reflection of the show or the crew's intentions, even Sam Deats tweeted about how stupid it was. Anyone who watched the show and had basic comprehension skills can understand Annette was lashing out in her own anger and grief over Edouard when she called Richter useless. That's why after both of them go through their little character development moments and see each other again they're instantly fine.

I disagree with that, but the point is that tweet wasn't written in good faith. while simultaneously praising all the other things people have been shitting on, plus he and his stupid brother always get butthurt and talk shit if anyone has anything negative to say so it's not like they're above that sort of behavior
Of course the showrunners are going to damage control when it's necessary, I really doubt they would have said anything if the reaction wasn't overwhelmingly negative
the damage has already been done, I've been seeing more and more people shit on the show saying they're not going to watch it, it's dropping in relevancy on Netflix's "trending shows" (though I'm sure they'll still say it got a bazillion views or whatever) and fans of the show are resorting to the "you're just racist/homophobic" angle to deflect any criticism, same thing that happened with other flops like Ghostbusters 2016 or TLJ
If Sam and all those other idiots wanted this show to be good, they should've grown a spine and not let the writers and whoever else just do whatever they want

>Try to have a discussion without the thread devolving into shit flinging about race and gays >Thread devolves shit flinging about the catholic church and Christianity instead
Did OP use a monkeys paw?
A lot of it was handled cartoonishly badly, and also inconsistently.
Good example: We establish very early on that God is real. Priests can bless water, holy water kills vampires. Plus the speech that Fangsy gives the corrupt Bishop before ripping his face off, where he basically calls him a corrupt b***h whom his own God would despise. I actually liked that, I thought season 1 handled it great. Some corrupt church officials did bad things, they all died, in the same episode a lay priest blesses some water and helps save the town.
So, basically it's a series in which God is real, Christianity is based and can defeat the forces of darkness, but the religion itself is not immune to corruption. Okay, by all accounts this is the least offensive portrayal of religion in anything not explicitly pro-religion I've seen in years.
But then we move forward, and shit stops adding up. That same evil bishop butthole gets brought back as a zombonie, and they have him walk into a river and bless it to frick up some other vampires. Wait. How does that even make sense? If, as werewolf-vampire fellow said, that bishop was despised by God, why is he allowed to bless stuff? What? Where IS the Church during all of this shit anyway? You know this is set in the 15th fricking century? You know what ELSE was going on in the 15th century? Like five different Crusades in Eastern Europe. The Hussites were being Crusaded, the Poles got Crusaded (long story) but somehow despite having hundreds of thousands of explicitly religious knights running around killing other Christians, they just... Ignore a massive vampire army bringing Total Livestock Death over in the Carpathians?
Upon acknowledging Christ as your savior you are able to bless things. It's not conditional, the dude saw Christ as his savior but also did bad things. Plus he was in a state of penance as a zombie, so he was pure. He can no longer take actions of his own unless told to. All his actions in this moment are pure just like the act of blessing water.
Thanks Augustine I forgot my obscure Catholic ritual lore. Has anyone tried blessing the ocean yet to frick with Godbrand or does it only work on freshwater?
Anonymous
I mean, they know not to swim in the ocean since they're vampires ...the holy blessing just made it more potent. Running water is still a weakness of theirs. It's why they stopped chasing in Nocturne when they got to the river.
And then you have the shit where they have that, right, but then they straight up rip off Blindsight for the moronic shit about Vampires seizing up when they see right-angles, hence crosses deterring them.
Man it'd be really embarrassing if we were to look around, say, Dracula's fricking HOUSE and see it's full of right fricking angles. If I hadn't cancelled Netflix years ago I'd go and screencap 50 examples of this flagrantly violating their own lore right now, but suffice to say they obviously added that in because they felt they had somehow been too charitable to Christianity to let the Cross turn away the undead because it represents Christ, nohoho no, it has to be LE SCIENCE. Worked in Blindsight, does not work here.
Well the show is set up for it. Honestly believe outrage bait is a feature at this point, just look at that one tweet from the main account that blew up with hate. The shit flinging works to deflect criticism, but also bury it in people shitting themselves over a black woman being on screen. Maybe the staff's intention wasn't just bait but no ones got anything interesting to say about the story. Despite it apparently needing so many changes cause its impossible to make a monster killing romp enjoyable.
Don't think so, but in her artbook there's some fanart she's done for old horror movies and I think there was a Nosferatu one. I can post a picture if you'd like.
The Serbian vampire was actually gigabased and I really liked him. Literally named him Ratko lol, yeah very subtle guys, what was his full name, Ratko Radovan Milosovic Karadzic the 88th but his friends call him "Ustashe the Chetnik" for short?
Do you think they'll find a way to bring Dracula back into the plot in the next season? It seems unlikely considering how Dracula ended up being at peace at the end of the first arc, but it's still Castlevania so Dracula just being entirely out of the plot would be weird.
St. Germaine will accidentally bring back Dracula from another dimension and we'll end up with this universe's Dracula having to fight the new one. Screencap this.
It'll be funny if the villains have this big scheme to revive Dracula, and the first thing he does is beat the crap out of them for ruining his peaceful after life.
I doubt Bathory would want to bring Dracula back, seeing as how she considers herself to be a literal Goddess. She wouldn't be able to tolerate anyone with more power/authority than herself. If anyone is to try and bring Dracula back, I imagine it would be a rival faction who wants to use him as a trump card against Bathory. Maybe even Orlox himself since he's obviously not a fan of what's going on.
Orlox's character as a vampire is more similar to lestat from interview of the vampire. he's not interested in the pathethic affairs of a opulent elite and has more in league with the new morals of the new world.
It'll never stop being funny how many christgay larpers there are on Cinemaphile these days. I'm sure if you spend enough time sperging out about bad representation on a mongolian throat singing board, Jesus will forgive you for jerking off to all those little girls lol
I have a hard time imagining most, if any, are real. Though perhaps I'm out of touch and there's this weirdo contingent of like, reverse dipshit teenager communists out there. Who like to wave about "Christianity" in some kind of insipid moral crusade without knowing a goddamn thing about it.
Why are you morons always surprised that people with censored views are on on a forum with relatively little censorship? This is the only place people can type "gays burn in Hell" without getting banned
It'll never stop being funny how many christgay larpers there are on Cinemaphile these days. I'm sure if you spend enough time sperging out about bad representation on a mongolian throat singing board, Jesus will forgive you for jerking off to all those little girls lol
not even a christian but you homosexuals crawled here from reddit go back
I'm impressed with powerhouse refusal to use the original designs, they went out of their way to make new monsters rather than use the hundreds of unique designs from the games.
What do you think is this ? Anime, an entire episode where Richter fights a giant undead bull in a burning city is childish, this medium must grow beyond the childish stereotypes, no, you are going to hear a homosexual haitian sing opera for two episodes, and you are going to like it.
IMO the only really bad singing scene is in episode 2, which just sounds really wrong for some reason. The later singing scenes aren't nearly as bad and it works as a plot device.
>hurr durrrr what's with the larping christcucks????
I'm not a Christcuck, nor will I pretend to be one for even a second. I'm the furthest thing from religious and I'll be the first to tell you that.
However I do believe in this thing called integrity, and Christianity is a key component of Castlevania's mythology whether you like it or not.
The franchise was created by some non-Christian Japanese dudes, and if they could respect Christianity in their depiction, then the Shitflix writers should have done it too. End of story.
Religion aside vampire lore is deeply connected with Christianity, vampires are scared of crosses, get burn by holly water, can even get near that little cookies they give in church.
Trying to make a story with vampires in a pre modern world but also trying to divorce it from christian iconography is like making a super hero story divorced from modern western culture. it just feels off and awkward.
>Trying to make a story with vampires in a pre modern world but also trying to divorce it from christian iconography
That's been a growing trend for decades, sadly. Even the classic Blade movies have him explicitly say that crosses and holy water don't do shit.
>crosses and holy water don't do shit.
I kinda liked Trevor's explanation of crosses messing up with vampires' vision because it's a symmetrical object or something...
>Blade movies >classic
I hate zoomers so fricking much.
>crosses and holy water don't do shit.
I kinda liked Trevor's explanation of crosses messing up with vampires' vision because it's a symmetrical object or something...
>vampires are afraid of geometry
That was just Ellis' moronic fedoragay cope to explain away the fact that crosses work on vampires.
If you watch the actual classic Hammer/Universal movies that the games were based on you'd understand that vampires represent metaphysical evil and taking away the weakness to holy images is just stupid.
You don't even need to resort to vampire lore, Castlevania games don't even focus on vampires other than Dracula himself.
The fact is that crosses, holy water and bibles burn ALL monsters in the games. The games unambiguously mythologize Christianity as a force for good. The deeper connotations of Christianity and its role throughout history was never the point of the games, and goes far beyond their scope.
This is something an emotionally intelligent person would understand and accept, regardless of whether they agree with Christianity or not. The problem is that fedora-tippers like Warren Ellis are the furthest thing from emotionally intelligent.
How would the shared universe thing even work ? Is Dracula going to get his power from Mundus now ? Is Dante going to be involved in the 1999 castle war ?
So if they're gonna do Maria/Alucard is there going to be a time skip at one point? I figured they bumped her up to 16 to make it a little less weird when it does happen.
I think there will be a 5 year skip at some point I don't know if nocturne is supposed to just be rondo or if it will also do SoTN or if they'll do that over a separate 3-4 seasons.
The show wants to have it both ways. After five seasons of "I fricking love science" fedora-tipping they have WE WUZ African ooga booga spirits being totally real.
>Dracula, then Mathias Cronqvist, declared war on God >He gets reincarnated as Soma Cruz as a sort of second chance at life >There's been literal divine intervention in the series before
The Christian God is real in Castlevania it's just that unlike other deities he's passive to a fault.
I'm going to start watching Nocturne, but I skipped massive parts of season 1, 2 and never watched the other seasons. Do I need to know anything that was specific to the anime? I know my game-specific Castlevania lore.
I just hope the next season takes its time fleshing out the the relationship of the group. I doubt the show will get 4 seasons like the previous one so they better speed it up to achieve a finale that feels just as good
As long as best boy Mizrak sticks around, I'm fine with that. Edo and Jacques need to get out of dodge and join too, I don't see the point in them staying around when multiple people on Bathory's side has said he needs to shut the frick up.
This show sucks absolute ass and sums up nearly everything wrong with modern dark fantasy, but you guys are out of your mind if you don't think the grumpy 30-something year old anime and videogame nerds who hate it wouldn't have been all over it had it been exactly the same but come out in 2007, been done by Gonzo or whoever and had "Produced by Koji Igarashi" in the credits.
As a fan of Castlevania, if you replace Dracula with an OC lady and the music with generic crap then I don't care. The only scene that was tolerable was when they fought Dracula and a remix from the games was playing.
>People claim to be fans and say they hate the show >Meanwhile the people that post their huge collection of every Castlevania games (including unreleased ones) say they love the shows
Very few people actually care about Castlevania aside from a few hardcore fans that love the the series' so far. All these "fans" with negative comments are mostly just casuals stopping by to be racists and the like
>People claim to be fans and say they hate the show >Meanwhile the people that post their huge collection of every Castlevania games (including unreleased ones) say they love the shows
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Real fans love the shows, no shit. Only Cinemaphile and /misc/ gays shit on it
You can throw this bullshit around as much as you like. At least on the Japanese end, the new series is a non entity at comicet.
Stop fricking astroturfing troony, fans of castlevania on the twatters are telling people NOT to watch this shit, not even as hate watch, nice try but you will never be a real woman.
This is why i tell people that Cinemaphile got overtaken by the trooners in the last few years, since they knwo normies STILL think that Cinemaphile is still a bastion of free speech, when in reality, it stop being so since GG.
Real fans love the shows, no shit. Only Cinemaphile and /misc/ gays shit on it
Very few people actually care about Castlevania aside from a few hardcore fans that love the the series' so far. All these "fans" with negative comments are mostly just casuals stopping by to be racists and the like
Real fans love it and fake fans just use it to spin their racist agenda
>real fans love it >but it's totally unrelated to the stuff they like beside name of characters and brand.
There is people who love 90s Mario bros film and 90s street fighter movie. There is always dumb people.
Nobody is making you watch the show.
I dropped this show because of the bisexual scene with Alucard.
Never in a million years would Alucard have buttsex.
Finished the series. Only somewhat decent catholic fricks men butts. Only person to use the power of Jesus is a witch. The absolute state of christians in media
...and praying is the equivalent of those ninja hand signs or goku screaming and sharting himeslf. It shows up in the games and is notable for it's absense. Especially if they're going to actually do shit with the church.
The first few episodes pretty lame and all the preachy exposition was pushing me to the point of dropping it entirely. Things picked up as soon as Richter encountered Olrox though and now I’m invested in seeing it through to the end.
Yes but she should still be lived about it in the next season. She got very little character stuff this season compared to Richet and Annette so I think that would be a good way to cover that and also make the gay dude an actual character( and maybe explain to me why the hell a gay dude is so faithful to the church)
I feel like the writers wanted to pat themselves on the back for having a gay man be so faithful to the church. For some reason I feel like I'm okay with this since he had a heel-face turn at the end.
Everyone worships something, be it a God, an idealogy, some force of nature. To deny this is foolish. The Abrahamic God is the realization there's one greater whole. Maria in the series per example is as much as a zealot as her father is.
Dayum...
Had to take a walk around the block when i saw this
II read a theory she might also be SotN's succubus.
And thats...thats just fine.
Where is Shaft?
It's Emmanuel
It was too sexy!
woah mama
ACK
>right-hand woman of the main villain
>ancient and extremely powerful
>capable of holding her own against multiple experienced vampire killers
>killed instantly just to give Alucard a cool introduction scene
Disappointing. Same thing happened with the cool Russian vampire who was instantly killed just to show off Richter's powerup. What's the point of having cool villains if their entire purpose is to die like b***hes just to show off how overpowered the protagonists are?
Lets hope Tera stays around
hottest moment of the show so far, here's hoping we get some more mind break / identity death next season
Bruh they're already doing the whole "monsters can remember their lives as humans and gain back their soul" thing with Edouard, 100% chance they'll do a scene where vampire Tera is about to attack Maria and suddenly gets sad because she remembers who she used to be.
That's been a thing since Isaac and Flyeyes.
Yeah but back then it wasn't a major plot point. The fact that Edouard is getting a lot of focus and that he's even able to bring back other monsters to their more human side is really significant, it's not something they can just let lie as a background element.
I want to see Tera drinking some people with relish.
She'll fight at at first, but like an addict. Bathory will offer her a bleeding person and she'll jump on him or her. Young vampires have little or no self control.
She'll probably feel awful afterwards.
>I want to see Tera drinking some people with relish.
Why not mustard?
All three seasons of the first Castlevania had cool vampires that died the instant they faced the main cast, and most didn't get as much screen time or lines if any. Godbrand was the most interesting character in season 2 and he gets killed without even a fight scene.
and Drolta was getting smacked around by Richter at the end of the church fight. She probably would have died if the main villain didn't show up.
It makes sense. Drolta was the main villain for the first part and led up to the real big bad. She gets killed off to wrap up chapter 1 with hope they can defeat the greater evil.
> why did fodder villains that are just their to look cool and die in my video game show just die after looking cool
You're a moron
I for one am glad that fiction has come full circle and realized that overpowered protagonists are the best. People mocked Superman for being invincible in the early 20th Century, and now in the 21st, the biggest and most popular ones are the most popular like Saitama and Satoru Gojo.
I mean, realistically, why would you need a Belmont when you have Alucard? They're much harder to write for. Even the Lords of Shadow games showed that humans can't do anything.
>why write non-op characters when you can just have an op one who diffuses all tension and stakes
sounds like goyslop to me
Im going to be honest, my favorite part of the previous season was how, once the main characters actually got to fighting, they just fricking rolled everything. It meant the rest of the show was meaningless politics, but you could really see why they would be terrified of a belmont with how quick he slaughtered all of them.
>black vampire gets stabbed by the whitest person you could possibly be
Said vampire also gets whipped by white protag that colonizes black love interest.
To be fair if you watch Netflix shows just to complain about how Netflixie they are, your a super giga homosexual. Someone who seeks ways to be angry about mid shit is on a lonely road in life.
I was hoping it would be better than vidcaps of pachinko machines. It's better than I expected but still lacking.
If you simp for bad adaptations because of corporate wars or no fricking standards, you ALSO are a super giga homosexual.
cope
Some had small hopes that with Ellis gone, they would at least quit it with the fedoratipping, but they double it down to the point it felt like a revenge fic toward all of the people who criticized this aspect of the original series.
Based. 4+ seasons in, you know what you're going to get by now.
That subreddit isn't doing so well recently.
>all vampires
>Only 1 can be considered black in any way
Ok...
>black women and their history
You are writing a shitty cartoon about vampires and atheists.
it's THEIR medieval european folkloric history, chud!!!
Beatings will continue until the show fricking improves.
What a b***h
>redittors flood Cinemaphiles castelvania threads
>Cinemaphileners flood castlevania subreddit
le heckin karma or something
Castlevania! Vive la LGBTQ+!
Soma imma beat yo ass
But can he take on the combined forces of Blackula and Black Dracula?
shiiiiet this is tougher than the time Death and Dracula fused
Quite an upgrade from Bloodlines where she was just a tiny old hag who pops out in between Dracula's two phases, and unless you had the Japanese manual, you wouldn't even know who she was and just assumed it was Drac in a middle form.
Nice hips
A creature of such wide and deep darkness is just begging for a white oak staking.
would
As would I
Watching episode 4....goddamn the writers really hate the catholic church.
You completely discredit yourself when you're actually ignorant of everything the church has done in its history.
Lol, if you think having a few schools and soup kitchens is all it takes to forgive multiple mass genocides then its you who is ignorant.
Your ignorance is in the extreme.
The Church is defined not by itself, but by the people. As an entity to itself it's incapable of any wrongdoing as it is inanimate.
But people are. The group YOU belong to. The group you support and give power to via governance, the ones that created TWO world wars in the last century that created over 100 million deaths.
Woof...you're a monster.
>If you don't TRUST THE SCIENCE you're in a cult
Oh the ironing.
Oh no my friend, you got it all wrong. There's being skeptical of scientific research which I can absolutely understand and nowhere did I imply that you must trust it, but then there's ignoring actual reality like fetal similarity and vestigial organs, on our ears for example.
You're correct, but at least science doesn't advocate anything, it's still on your own that you decide to kill people or "subhumans".
>fetal similarity
That one was always a hoax
>vestigial organs
Usually have some purpose we don't understand yet.
Oh come on man, the purpose of the vestigial ear muscles is understood quite clearly. I other animals it is used to move the ears around, but since we've evolved such a different body type and can move our heads in a different manner we didn't need them anymore.
Wrong. Pastors do advocate certain things in their churches. They tend to help out and speak in favor of conservative parties. Science by itself is a collection of facts most of which you can see and test on your own. It does have some spokesmen but let's not pretend Niel Degriesse Tyson is spreading any harmful ideology.
Anon within the universe of Castlevania God and the Devil exists I don't know what to tell you. I'm sorry the Japanese liked Catholic mythos.
I'm discussing RL church with the other anons, I'm not talking about Castlevania or its mythos.
They obviously were. Anon was saying the real life issues with the church don't matter, because in Castlevania all of the things they say is true, and witches do need to be burned and people should pray and go to church because actual demons might eat them and they do NOT want to go to hell in this universe.
It's like complaining that in a Greek mythology movie the greek gods aren't proven to be fake and gay.
yeah I meant the other ones, who were discussing religious morality in a broader sense, read all the replies again, you'll see they aren't all about castlevania
>at least science doesn't advocate anything, it's still on your own that you decide to kill people or "subhumans".
one could say the exact same of religion, its your own interpretation that you decide to kill people
Acceptance of darwinian findings can turn someone into a serial killer hellbent on murdering all subhuman. ANYTHING can be interpreted either a malicious intent so so don't act like this is a uniquely religious problem
Trips of holy 7 have spoken truth. Screencap’d.
Thanks god.
>that spread nothing but death and misery
Thats not true and even I, a non catholic, know that its not that clear cutted. Either way I never said I expected them to be good guys, but I hoped they would at least stand against the vampires in a genuine way
Again, never said I hoped to see them as good guys, them being pro aristocracy is completely fine, but doing deals with deviles and helping vampires is just really taking a piss on them
>doing deals with deviles and helping vampires
I forgot guys. The Abbot naively thought he could turn his undead army against the vampires once...something happened. That's why Erzebet wants leverage on him. He was trying to use them, not really teaming up
They could show the church being historically corrupt. Why are lowly church guards ready to die to defend vampires and hellspawn?
Because apparently vampires and hellspawn are preferable over the godless State.
Not that far off what they had done in real life.
The gay guard guy technically became a good Christian. The priest sacrificing his own daughter was the tipping point for him.
>Uh you forgot the sodomite heathen who sleeps with an Aztec vampire
You mean the one with no motivation to be so faithful to the Catholic church considering they would despise anyone like him?
Because the games themselves portray the Church in a positive light.
It's like if Baki had a sequel where Japan was portrayed as dogshit.
>a historically terrible organization that spread nothing but death and misery
stopped the american indians from getting enslaved and protected israelites in europe as fellow followers of the book.
oh, so that's why they knew about the Holocaust and did nothing, got it
nta and not even christian but what exactly where they supposed to do about the holocaust you moron? Call a crusade? You know nobody else did anything about the holocaust while it was happening either? Why do you think that is?
literally anything? they could've done literally anything like other entities did?
Yes they wouldve had the knights templar march into Berlin and behead Hitler
>muh six bazillion
Can't stop what never happened, Shlomo.
>still believing what people on the internet tell you
imagine being this cucked lmao
...Did you think the Vatican could just declare war on Hitler or something what is that fricking thought of yours. The fact they even gave a shit about people of another faith at the time is remarkably progressive.
They can't do a shit even if they want it, Vatican state in in the middle of Italy, their "swiss guard" is not a true battalion,
>stopped the american indians from getting enslaved
Not even Catholic, but you owe pretty much everything you hold dear to the Church protecting ancient knowledge and encouraging learning throughout the previous millennium.
atheists and scientists are actually owed that credit despite attempts by the church to silence all other voices such as Galileo
Galileo thought the tides happened once a day at the same time everyday. He was rightly condemned for trying to force everyone to accept his theory without proof. The most important scientists of the era from Albert Magnus to Robert Grosseteste were associated with the church.
because they were forced to pretend to be religious. atheists rather than theists draw progress forward
>They were only pretending. The people who believe in fifteen genders are the real scientists.
>because they were forced to pretend to be religious
lol no
show me today a reputable scientist that is not an atheist
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Collins
>atheists and scientists
The idea that every person should be educated at all has its roots in Christian morality. You have no idea what you're talking about you sound like some prepubescent child mad he had to go to church yesterday.
>The idea that every person should be educated at all has its roots in Christian morality
lmao no. its atheists that were forced to be christians under persecution that had to backdoor knowledge into the world. if the church had its way we would still be in the dark ages!
Atheists didn't have the institutions to dedicate their lives to scribing art, poetry and folklore, again you have no idea what you're talking about it's sad you keep going.
>Atheists didn't have the institutions to dedicate their lives to scribing art, poetry and folklore,
exactly! because the church oppressed all differing thought and killed opposition. atheists (and everyone else) had to be closet christians just to survive dark age europe
You don't even know how to use that expression correctly.
Science is Christianity's tool and invention, you must cope.
it was invented by christian atheists
You can say they were all faking it if you like. The simple fact is before the Catholic church there were zero central institutions of learning that people could go to. If an atheist in Roman times wanted to learn to read and write he couldn't pretend to be rich enough to buy the tutor.
You sound crazy.
(You)
Yes, firmly Christian. Iluvitar is obviously God.
Tolkien was so christian he went to his death struggling with the concept he'd accidentally invented fantasy racism while making a backstory for his made up languages.
cope
AhahaHAHAHAHAHA, wait is this for real? Holy shit. Did any of these people actually read Tolkien?
Buddy, it's from Varg Vikernes. He's hardly normal by any metric.
The arsonist, the murderer, or the mid black metal artist?
Bro even science says there's a God through simulation theory which is weighted today and only grows stronger with each passing day. Cope.
simulation theory is a cope
It's sheer fact, if you're a sapient being you're more likely in a simulation than actual world. For every real world that has an advanced species there will be potentially infinite simulated ones. It's a law of inevitability. Science has come to the conclusion you most likely have a creator, it's just reality.
Im religious anon, but that's only inevitable if we find a way to have infinite energy to compute an endless universe. Or find out the universe is finite enough to simulate.
Dude...you don't have to simulate all of it, just the minds and the their perceptions. So it's effectively only ever generating Earth and a few things people see that would be "beyond Earth"
your application of the law of inevitability to this scenario is unfounded in reality and motivated reasoning. cope
Nope and cope. Science believes in a creator.
science doesn't believe in anything, science is a method. you're reading whatever you would like into its results because you've started from a premise instead of arriving there through logic
The first common born men ever taught to read and write on a large scale were Catholic monks. Even today, the vast majority of Nobel Prize winners have been Christian men.
That's just not true, you're REALLY ignorant
I didn't know they packed that much stupid into kids these days.
the internet you post on was made by atheists along with this website
All their works stem from the foundation of Christianity and you cannot escape that.
Christians taking credit for other people's works? how surprising
Christian science stems from Islamic science, which in turn stems from Indian science.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I imagine you're not going down on your knees for Pajeet every time you use the internet.
Shitty bait anon.
Friendly reminder that the numbers the internet is made of are called "Arabic Numerals" and that they were originally invented by an Indian guy called Brahmagupta
>All science is the shape we make our numbers. Science in Europe didn't even exist until Muhammad fricked that one kid.
Does anyone in your life actually take you seriously?
Why do you think he has to come here anon?
Never thought Id see a poojeet here. Islamic science comes from persian and greek science stop taking credit for eveything sirs
Nah, literally all Christians.
>the people trying to turn modern countries into third world shitholes = athiests
Atheism is totally dysgenis. The only thing you've succeeded in is making prosperous religious countries gay and moronic in the course of three generations.
No, many of them became scientists because they were religious, the two were tied very closely together
lmfao, first it was scientists were all athiests being supressed by le evil church, now its they were actually religious because of muh society!
The fact that they were scientists contributed to their religiousness, why would they question the natural world and be curious about it and not question religiion which was part of the natural world to those people?
The whole, actual affair of Galileo, and heliocentrism in general, is utterly fascinating and people should read about it:
How many hospitals and schools have you founded?
none. how many kid rapes have you helped cover up?
This point is always funny by leftists because:
>female teachers rape kids more
>the Priests that rape kids are homosexual, the majority of their victims are male on male, it's why Catholics tried to raise the alarm about the homosexual pervert infiltration of the Church
But I don't think you want to have an honest discussion about that. Also while I'm not a fan of the Catholic Church, a reminder that there is no organization that has ever been as charitable. Also a reminder that on average your average local church has objectively done more for the homeless then any secular charity statistically
>it's why Catholics tried to raise the alarm about the homosexual pervert infiltration of the Church
Nta but thats just switching the blame, i.e pure cope, and hardly something that makes them look better
How is it "switching the blame"? Unless there's some secret part of the catechism that encourages pedophilia (like there is in the Talmud) it's 100% a gay problem.
>How is it "switching the blame"?
You a putting the blame on homosexualry itself, and not on how the institution is structured in a way that any psycho that reaches the rank can have easy power over boys. If it was just homosexualry then the main controversies would be priests fricking each other or hiring male prostitutes, but no, its specifically taking advantage of the boys
Because homosexualry is the problem. Priests are statistically less likely to abuse than members of the general population abd especially teachers.
If you ignore how many cases are swept under the rug and how protestant churchs dont have as many cases, even the ones led by gays, then yeah
Incorrect, even if you fabricate more (which they already did in the original) incidents they still end up under the statistical average.
You are genuinely a stupid person since you actually thought these institutions were all about molesting people.
>ince you actually thought these institutions were all about molesting people.
When the frick did I say that?
>You could say the same about the public school system and claim they are hiding stuff
No because a public school doesnt have anywhere near as much power as the church
>According to you the danger is public schools and the workplace. THEY'RE BOTH EVIL
Again, when the frick did I say that? I only said that putting the blame of those things in homosexual shit itself is a cope
You could say the same about the public school system and claim they are hiding stuff, wouldn't change anything. According to you the danger is public schools and the workplace. THEY'RE BOTH EVIL
If an incident happens in organized religion it gets blasted 70,000 times by various outlets for months.
If it happens it schools 70,000 times they talk about it for 7 seconds with "lol it happened again, NICE, well let's hope it happens again now to the weather"
>That’s because there is a higher standard of moral decency attributed to the church.
Then it's a good thing they abuse less.
>And that’s why they get lampooned ad nauseam when there are scandals involving their institution.
Right, I'm sure it has nothing to do with media israelites trying to slander their greatest enemy.
>Right, I'm sure it has nothing to do with media israelites trying to slander their greatest enemy.
No, anon. This has nothing to do with conspiracy. It is society’s natural response to something shocking and obscene.
Then why don't all those dick-sucking rabbis in Brooklyn get the same coverage?
That thing with the Rabbis sucking the baby’s dick after circumcising them is a tradition (an admittedly fricking weird one) and it doesn’t cause public outrage as a result. If the Rabbis are caught molesting innocents and that knowledge is made public, people will indeed find it to be grossly obscene. However, since the dominant religion in the West is Christianity, the outcry won’t reach the same level as it would if these atrocities were performed by members of the Christian clergy. People will be disgusted, no doubt, but that disgust will fade away quicker seeing as how they already view the israeli religion to be inferior to their own, and so it come as no surprise to them that there are degenerates within their ranks.
>the Rabbis are caught molesting innocents and that knowledge is made public, people will indeed find it to be grossly obscene.
They're caught all the time and the media ignores it.
The Church was the only one trying to preserve native languages and culture at all, which is more than those cannibal savages deserve.
>The Church was the only one trying to preserve native languages and culture at all, which is more than those cannibal savages deserve.
You'd have to be real fricking dumb to think that Catholics wanted anyone to keep their culture or religion.
>they burned everything the children came with including their clothes
Yeah, to get rid of lice.
>and banned everything about their culture/religion including their language.
They kids were sent to schools of which ever religion they already belonged to. There were Anglican and Lutheran schools as well.
They were made to speak Englush because they were being educated to find work in an English speaking society. Moreover, the schools were the Indian's idea. Some if the first Bibles printed in the New World were in Algonquin.
But you don't care, you're just another reddit homosexual who hates whites.
>They kids were sent to schools of which ever religion they already belonged to. There were Anglican and Lutheran schools as well.
>They were made to speak Englush because they were being educated to find work in an English speaking society. Moreover, the schools were the Indian's idea. Some if the first Bibles printed in the New World were in Algonquin.
lolol, imagine falling for low effort copeaganda.
>But you don't care, you're just another reddit homosexual who hates whites.
I am Indigenous.
lolololol, here is a shitty draft, I mean another "miracle" for you.
>I am Indigenous
Yes, I'm sure your 1/16th Mexican status looked very impressive on your college application.
Your image is from a missionary report about the miracle, you moron.
https://www.magiscenter.com/blog/scientifically-validated-miracles-of-marian-apparitions-at-lourdes-guadalupe-and-fatima
>lolololol, here is a shitty draft, I mean another "miracle" for you.
Not him, but you are a moron, the Virgen de Guadalupe is related to four apparitions in the Tepeyac Hill. Also thats not a painting, but a book, is the Escalada's Codex
>The Catholic church also did a bunch of ridiculous stunts like the bizarre Mary painting thing that they used as propaganda to claim that she appeared as a miracle in mesoamerica (shitty draft versions of the fake have also been found). That's what the whole "virgen de guadalupe" thing is
It's not a painting, you moron. It's been verified several times.
>No they weren't. In fact they were the ones who collected and burned all the Maya books in a fire so big that you could see it from Cuba.
Thats physical impossible. It's more than 2000 kms.
It was a giant mountain of books. There were records of people seeing the glow from Havana. Sounds insane but also Maya had a civilization's worth of books.
lmfao
It's only called Escalada's Codex but it's not actually a codex. It's just a single page of parchment. Do you actually believe that obviously fake bullshit?
It was a giant mountain of books. There were records of people seeing the glow from Havana. Sounds insane but also Maya had a civilization's worth of books.
Again, its physical impossible to see a fire 2000 kms away. Sounds like the typical myth/exaggeration. You cant even see the glow of a volcano. eruption at the same distance.
maybe it was a miracle
>lmfao
I accept your concession.
nta but Black person we literally just had to deal with Canada's wildfire smoke travelling to us and it was thick as frick
if anything they probably saw the smoke
New York is closer to New Brunswick than Cuba is to Mexico
You are really comparing a wildfire that consumed 15.3 million hectares (37.8 million acres) of land in canada to the burn of some books? really?
Is not documented, plain and simple, its just a popular myth.
lol, don't bother with that tard. Mexico is only about 200km from Cuba. The recorded claims say they saw them from Havana and the fires were in Mani which is closer to the 780km but details about this are unclear. Could be that they saw them from elsewhere in Cuba and then the claim was reported in Havana. Also, it wasn't just literal tons of books, it was thousands of religious figures and tons of other shit.
So anyway, anon is right, is more a myth rather than a true event
>thing was recorded but it hurts settler feelings -- must be fake
>thing was recorded and despite being obviously fake it props up settler fables - must be true and validated miracle
>recorded in La Havana
>780 kms
people in La havana have superpowers. maybe they was vampires?
>must be true and validated miracle
not a christian here, so keep coping.
>ambiguity
>during the French Revolution
The Church's overflowing corruption was part of what fueled it.
This series was never historically accurate.
Not accurate to the games either. Why the frick are they even bothering?
I remember seeing some of the shit from 2chan responding to it. A joke about pachinko spinners repelling vampires was the best followup I remember.
You knew what you were going to get when they picked the French Revolution as a setting.
But Annette uses Christianity to entrap her former owner.
Yeah I wanted a scene of hot steamy sex with her!
She's so unbelievably delicious, great VA too
>erotic violence
I hope the spirit tiger makes it to the end
Ah. Thanks.
Also Dracula made a god his b***h. Hardcore
No wonder the series died off. They were a broken record
Dracula's actual legend states he attended a school of magic where The Devil was the instructor.
>Castlevania's "story" was always cobbled together hackery. Even the cover of the original game admits it without shame.
explain further
If you study the art with a careful eye you'll notice how disjointed it actually is. Simon is ripped from a Frazetta piece.
>"Conan the Barbarian borrows Indiana Jones' whip and goes after the Universal monsters"
kino
Nice headcanon
Mizrak's pretty cool too. Hope he survives.
>Countess Dracula
Cool movie lad, quite underrated.
you are a homosexual, OP
>Episode 5
>Black chick points out how crosses work because vampires fear Jesus
Please make your fricking mind, writers, is the christian god real or not?
It was never in doubt, you didn't pay attention to the show if you thought otherwise. There's even a seen in the first series where a Night Creature openly talks about God and how He works
But what about Trevor explaining that vampires are an evolved predator species that freak out when geometric shapes are shoved into their faces?
He compared them to one, didn't say that's what they were. You can't "evolve" when you come into being by drinking blood. C'mon dude. Also it was just a reference to the novel Blindsight.
He was purified through death and was working in penance as explained with how Forgemasters work and the act of making water holy is explicitly good, not sure how you see this as bad or a sham.
They have a zombie priest weaponize holy water in the first show, I thought it was pretty much admitting religion was a shame in this universe.
It was never proven, to me they were just talking shit to the priest, same goes to holy water since it could just be magic. This is the first time the show straight up says vampires fear jesus and we see it being proven
She says she studied them. Dunno how she got the info though, maybe copies of books from the Belmont library were spread around the world or she met other vampire hunters
The Night Creature in the church and Sypha both make it clear they know that God exists. They show you hell, I have to assume you're just trolling.
Her research could still be wrong. That's a real thing that happens.
I'm assuming he wasn't the first vampire she tested crosses on since she came to Europe.
The theme of the show:
>Christianity is great and objectively good, but Christians suck
>These left-wing, anti-white, anti-Christian writers have totally honest intentions. Just trust them and eat the slop.
"Catholic myself" my fricking ass.
Trevor asks a good priest to make holy water in S1.
You ignoring the actual reasons why the show is dogshit is exactly why even Twitter is making fun of it at this point
Cope and seethe
>those thighs
I know the first series had multiple seasons but I was hoping they’d wrap things up this go around
Hate waiting, fricking drip feed homosexualry, can’t stand it
That being said, good team up, but I know it will be ass, just like this season
They will spend one more season on Bathory shit then they'll probably lead into Symphony and later (if you're lucky) Aria of Sorrow
No panties
Mad/sad she died and we're stuck with Bathory
So what happened to the Morning Star Whip?
Alucard probably knows where it is if it's not back at the castle.
So did Dracula and Lisa ever bother to tell their son they're alive somewhere?
Find out when season 2 release in three years
He looks so much better. I loved how they went with the washed out palette to make his eyes pop.
Getting ass-raped will do that to a guy.
God, this is such a better design its not even funny. Why did it take so fricking long for him to put on a fricking shirt
I for am delighted Alucard is returning to his twink roots. Couldn't stand his long face in the previous series.
>stand his long face in the previous series.
He has a rough life.
>edouard
Repent
papa legba
Weird that you don't need to have faith in it for it to work.
Not really, pretty sure thats how old movies used it as well
In lore, God sees your plea for the power of Christ and decides if it should work or not in that instant. For the faithful it would work every time.
Who did it better?
Not even a contest
AAAAAAAAAAMEEEEEN
I wish she was hotter, that hairstyle is atrocious.
I'm not the biggest fan of the hair either, especially in real life, but I think she is cute enough
She could of been so much worse that's for sure, same with the vampires
She's super cute at times. Looking forward to more fan art of her.
>bad ending Annette as "lesser vampire"
Hmm, feels like there should be some fertile ground here for fan art ideas
Damm, Erzebet is cucking everyone. Maria, Anette, who is next?
I really want to see her rape twink Alucard.
>ugly potato nose
yew
>ugly potato nose
I mean, she is black? Thats usually the type of nose they have, but to me they did it pretty well, they gave her black features without making her look ugly, wich is what stuff like video games do npwadays when trying to make "realistic blacks"
I think she's one of the recent actually pulled off 2D cute without giving her any unnecessary real features.
Fricking hate her, not because she is black, but because she is a fricking Poochie character.
Wow, a good artist drawing a shitpost. I am Jack's disappointed.
looks nice
That's why.
Personally, want her to wear different earrings when they change apparel.
>Trevor:Vampire hate crosses because right angles mess with their brains
>Drolta: Christian symbolism doesn't really affects me, just the sunlight TEE HEE
Also Hell is real, and so are Egyptian and African Gods, but Christianity is not.
: I KNOW YOUR BIG SECRET, CROSSES FRICK VAMPIRES UP
No, she said specifically in regards to that guy as in he had belief in it.
They burned him whenever he touched them.
Right, but there is no indication if that was supernatural or merely from her rapid manipulation of the material.
nta but this is starting to sound like cope
There is no real proof either way, its just confirmation bias to whichever you believe.
>no real proof
>even though the vampire burned from the cross the same way Vampires always traditionally have ever since Vampire media has been a thing
ok
Yes, confirmation bias as said. It could just be from the metal being heated get bent into that shape from the magic too.
anon that's not confirmation bias, that's you reaching. The cross being made out of whatever is irrelevant
even classic horror movies have had characters put 2 sticks together to form a cross and it burns them
It doesn't burn him though until he actually touches it.
that doesn't matter, classic vampire stories do that too
Redditvania's depiction of Christianity in the first season was a huge red flag but I was willing to give it a chance, but it only got worse from there. I can't believe this show still has an audience.
>EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT CHRISTIAN
Doesnt mean she cant channel his power, even in the previous series a shitty priest was still able to make holy water
was Alucard an incel?
More like he grew up too fast just in time to see his life fall apart and his dad go crazy and then the only two friends he's ever made leave him alone after they all kill his dad. In the games IDK, all I know is he ends up fricking Maria.
In the games he'd become an emotional wreck after being forced to put his psycho dad down (not long after he had to bury his mother, too) so he seals himself away and only wakes up in time for Symphony. After that, it's not really written what he did for the next ~300 years but he took part in the Battle of 1999 and by the time of the Sorrow games he's working as a glowie for the Japanese government.
m8 what did you think all that Dark Lord swank in DoS was about.
>what did you think all that Dark Lord swank in DoS was about
Not the "Apocalypse" or whatever the frick you were talking about
The way you're embellishing things is pretty cringe, Castlevania never took itself too seriously
Pretty sure he's talking about how they copped Nostradamus' doomsday prophecies
>Dark Lord swank in DoS was about
I liked it how Celia's scheme is ostensibly to create a new Dracula to balance out God but then the manual just outright says that he's only doing it because she fears her own magic will disappear without Dracula in the world. What a b***h.
Alucard echoes the whole ying-yang thing in Aria's ending. As the other anon points out, Castlevania story under Igarashi got pretty bloated and stupid the more shit he tried to cram in.
I don't think you know what that word means
>cant find the scene of Annette smiling at the sun in google images
>Even though its one of her major scenes
The hell
>Keep on searching for pic of the scene in question
>Find a bunch of thumbnails calling saying that he character change is woke
>Even though(as far as I've watched) she is less "woke" than the blond chick
Cute moment
Her smile? Pure.
I can’t I’m good conscience watch this show, not after they snubbed Grant in the last one.
butt
There are teeth in there.
paused on this frame.
She's like "aww sheet man muh nee."
blighttown.webm
Lost half the frames there.
Why don't they have inbetweeners for this animator to help his animation.
Because they are extremely talented but their work needs more frames to be smoother, otherwise it is like I am blinking every millisecond.
the second part of the fight has way more frames for some reason
Different animator most likely
is it my laptop lagging? because this is really choppy and powerpoint-ish
That's just how most anime and anime-like shows look. Fluid 2D's expensive.
ah, I dont watch much anime
no they have inbetweeners to help with choppiness issue which seems like they didn't use for this guy who seriously needs one.
remember the reactions back in season 2 when Alucard tried to get with Syfa and she chose Trevor instead and turned Alucard into a cuck?
>when Alucard tried to get with Syfa
This never happened. If anything Trevor was jealous of Alucard but he couldn't give a damn.
they were talking about languages and their knowledge but Syfa still preffered the drunk chad bully Trevor over the basedboy beta cuck twink alucard lmao.
Getting rejected equals a cuck then? Then every guy ever is a cuck.
I admit this shot in the trailer is what got me to watch
>You should trust the racist, antisemetic, and antiglobalists instead
I know it's a thing in the game, but why is it only she can summon?
You can look it up and see which one that is.
arn't there 2 dragons?
>there was never a "magic realm" aspect to it - that part was invented by the show
WRONG
They're sacred and holy beasts, I hate you gays not knowing the games and talking shit every thread.
Also Maria actually has 5
I wonder if they'll give her the Qilin to ride as a mount next season and then have her big attack be the dragon.
If anything, shouldn't the French Revolutionaries who executed children and nuns in the street have been the vampires?
Youd think some of the people involved in the Vendee rebellions were vampires they impaled infants on spears, flooded entire town squares with blood from guillotines and cooked human lard in pots
This retroactively makes me wish I never played any of the games.
Looks like a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race
Can't help but feel if this design wasn't black and it wasn't a western production. Then half the people praising this design would be moaning about bad porn ocs being forced into the show.
It's just a worse Kojima-esque Succubus design with Diablo horns and Steven Universe hair.
And bad ending Annette as "lesser vampire" is basically close enough.
>Tera in season 2
Is nudity allowed if it's tasteful official art? Guess we'll see.
my wife
I'm not huge on every game design, but I think the ones that do stray modern at least have some level of gothic detail. CV is all over the place like that, sometimes a design is just very monster movie. That's at least speaking a horror language though. Drolta is just working off nothing, its just a very modern look. They could've leaned on 80s exploitation films for some sort of sexy but horror. Just has nothing going for it other than getting twitter posts going
>oooohhh yass slay the c**tness
>Another vidya adaptation series ruined by massive fedoratipping or forced progressivism
>Bunch of atheists and leftards who never played a single CV game in their lives now dickride this show like they’ve always been old fans
I dunno anon, the fact the official pages had to delete posts because enough people are shitting on it tells me there are enough raising a stink about it
I'm also the kind of person that thinks half the likes/shares on a post for NEW THING are fake and made by shills so make of that what you will
Some Netflix lackey wrote the tweet and it's not a reflection of the show or the crew's intentions, even Sam Deats tweeted about how stupid it was. Anyone who watched the show and had basic comprehension skills can understand Annette was lashing out in her own anger and grief over Edouard when she called Richter useless. That's why after both of them go through their little character development moments and see each other again they're instantly fine.
>Richter useless
He is though.
>Richter has a moment of doubt because of childhood trauma
>gets his anime character development powerup and starts easily mercing vampires with magic
he literally did more than Annette this season.
I disagree with that, but the point is that tweet wasn't written in good faith. It simultaneously shits on Richter's grief and turns a moment where Annette is working through her own anger into a "yaaaaaas #girlboss" moment. Not to mention it was stupid because Richter CAN do magic and he ends up getting it back.
This, made the context out worse than it wasn't. Should be ashamed of ever posting that and fired that marketer for misrepresenting their show.
>even Sam Deats tweeted about how stupid it was.
while simultaneously praising all the other things people have been shitting on, plus he and his stupid brother always get butthurt and talk shit if anyone has anything negative to say so it's not like they're above that sort of behavior
If Sam and all those other idiots wanted this show to be good, they should've grown a spine and not let the writers and whoever else just do whatever they want
the animation is very choppy, half the fights are like that
it's insane they took longer to make this show than any of the previous seasons but it's somehow worse
>it's insane they took longer to make this show than any of the previous seasons but it's somehow worse
And people shit on 3D animation when this is what you'll get nowadays with traditional 2D.
I thought Shankar's name was in the credits though? Unless that's just simply the result of the suing and he did absolutely nothing in it.
Why are they here anyways? They ran away from all the evil racist homophobe chuds on reddit and came here because they fell for the Cinemaphilemblr meme?
why do people here pretend to be christians and also look at porn?
Why Netflix and people pretend Santeria is quirky/cool now?
>are you a virgin?
>but a virgin, shouldn't I have a virgin?
lmao I lost my shit. It's suppose to be a gut wrenching moment but Erzsebet over in the corner questioning everyone's virginity while they talk over her.
Usually virgin women became stronger vampires when converted, so she had a point asking that.
It's just a reference to Bathory wanting virgin blood IRL
>Looks like Lino-O.
>Sounds like it was recorded on a Sega genesis with two cans & sting.
>Not sexy at all just what the kids call "The Ick".
It's a sexual thing for bathory. She wants to be their first.
And converting Terra, she'll probably gain a taste for MILFs.
She remembers Tera has that girl who escaped.
The girl who escaped and ripened.
if the 2nd season doesn't have at least one scene with these 2 i'll be writing a strongly worded letter to the Netflix office
stupidly enough i thought this might be a hint that the sekhmet thing is fake or not what bathory thinks it is, like it's weird for someone who is supposed to be a god to question her own shtick.
>>but a virgin, shouldn't I have a virgin?
Maria confirmed she's going to lose her virginity to Alucard
But his pelvis hasn't recovered from Greta.
300 years and he still hasn't recovered? Good god what did that woman do to him and where can I get the same
I'd like some too
It was a great ride, but now I'm stuck waiting for season 2.
>Try to have a discussion without the thread devolving into shit flinging about race and gays
>Thread devolves shit flinging about the catholic church and Christianity instead
Did OP use a monkeys paw?
devolves shit flinging about the catholic church and Christianity instead
that happens in all these threads of this show
What is so hard to accept about a hypocritical priest being the bad guy?
He forgot to include that too
What he did NOT do is post enough HOT VAMPRIE ASS. If you're going to do this, you can't let up. You need to full on item crash with that shit.
Is there any Ayami Kojima artwork of Olrox?
Don't think so, but in her artbook there's some fanart she's done for old horror movies and I think there was a Nosferatu one. I can post a picture if you'd like.
>but in her artbook
?
Please
Okay, excuse the quality.
Santa Lilio Sangre.
A very cool James Whale Frankenstein piece, too.
That's really cool. Thanks anon.
Neat, thanks
She's so cool. Why weren't she or Yamane involved with Netflixvania even in a minor capacity, anyway? Heaven knows it could do with it.
This show has sucked wiener since Godbrand died.
The Serbian vampire was actually gigabased and I really liked him. Literally named him Ratko lol, yeah very subtle guys, what was his full name, Ratko Radovan Milosovic Karadzic the 88th but his friends call him "Ustashe the Chetnik" for short?
I assume Peter Stormaire actually costs money unlike the rest of these people.
Writing was dogshit
Animation was nice
Skip it and blacklist the shit writers from any future material you consume. That is all.
Literally a seaman deamon
Will our guy make an appearance on the show at some point?
>add streltsy vampire
>instead of basing him on historical streltsy, they base him on a Warhammer meme unit
This was really unexpected I almost died of laughter
>unexpected
After the vampire pretty much mounted him?
Where are my pious Catholic heroes? Netflix CV is shit.
>It's a christcucks seething thread
It'll never stop being funny how many christgay larpers there are on Cinemaphile these days. I'm sure if you spend enough time sperging out about bad representation on a mongolian throat singing board, Jesus will forgive you for jerking off to all those little girls lol
Any selfrespecting christian wouldn't be caught dead using Cinemaphile of all sites.
I have a hard time imagining most, if any, are real. Though perhaps I'm out of touch and there's this weirdo contingent of like, reverse dipshit teenager communists out there. Who like to wave about "Christianity" in some kind of insipid moral crusade without knowing a goddamn thing about it.
Maria was 14 when she gave birth to J-dog, God is a hebechad.
Why are you morons always surprised that people with censored views are on on a forum with relatively little censorship? This is the only place people can type "gays burn in Hell" without getting banned
Shalom
not even a christian but you homosexuals crawled here from reddit go back
>muh reddit boogieman
They turned sweet Maria into a potty mouth.
SALT THE FRICKING EARTH
>Every OC has a dumb design
I don't get it they didn't realize that most of the CV monsters came from D&D and horror movies
I'm impressed with powerhouse refusal to use the original designs, they went out of their way to make new monsters rather than use the hundreds of unique designs from the games.
Do we seriously not even have a minotaur chase scene?
What do you think is this ? Anime, an entire episode where Richter fights a giant undead bull in a burning city is childish, this medium must grow beyond the childish stereotypes, no, you are going to hear a homosexual haitian sing opera for two episodes, and you are going to like it.
>LaaaAAAAAAAAAAaaacrimoooOOOOOOOooosaaaaaAAAAAaaa
I was playing Castlevania yesterday, and, I think there is something wrong with my game, I'm not exactly sure what it is.
was the "opera singing scenes" necessary? my ears cringed everytime i heard that character sing
Broadway kids love that shit.
IMO the only really bad singing scene is in episode 2, which just sounds really wrong for some reason. The later singing scenes aren't nearly as bad and it works as a plot device.
>episode 2
I thought that one was really loud... amongus short clips with loud sounds volumes of loud
Drolta looked like an extra from Cyberpunk just walked onto set.
Drolta seems kinky as hell.
In an alternative version she's tormenting ritcher in her sex dungeon or something.
>hurr durrrr what's with the larping christcucks????
Except he was being moronic, when they trapped that slave master the crosses didn't scramble his mind it was burning his skin
they stole that from the Blindsight novels they have no creativity
I'd like to hear Warren Ellis explain why in the video games one of the most powerful secondary weapon is literally the Bible.
>Blade movies
>classic
I hate zoomers so fricking much.
>vampires are afraid of geometry
That was just Ellis' moronic fedoragay cope to explain away the fact that crosses work on vampires.
Anon, the first two Blade movies are over twenty years old by now. I was a kid when those movies came out
If you watch the actual classic Hammer/Universal movies that the games were based on you'd understand that vampires represent metaphysical evil and taking away the weakness to holy images is just stupid.
That's exactly what I'm saying. Shit's moronic and always been moronic.
It's just Shankar being autistic
So if they're gonna do Maria/Alucard is there going to be a time skip at one point? I figured they bumped her up to 16 to make it a little less weird when it does happen.
I think there will be a 5 year skip at some point I don't know if nocturne is supposed to just be rondo or if it will also do SoTN or if they'll do that over a separate 3-4 seasons.
>whole ass episode about muh slavery
does it get better
Why do redditors defend eating slop to own the chuds? They've done this since "Last Jedi".
amoma
The show wants to have it both ways. After five seasons of "I fricking love science" fedora-tipping they have WE WUZ African ooga booga spirits being totally real.
Yes it can, portraying christianity as real fundamentally goes against the faith aspect of it.
>Dracula, then Mathias Cronqvist, declared war on God
>He gets reincarnated as Soma Cruz as a sort of second chance at life
>There's been literal divine intervention in the series before
The Christian God is real in Castlevania it's just that unlike other deities he's passive to a fault.
Someone's BIG MAD
>caring enough to reply
would
Richter totally used uppercut on that second b***h didn't he lmao
arent vampires unable to cross running water?
Even Alucard is weak to water
The Marquis's wife was pretty hot
Is that the same one?
NTA but I'm pretty sure it is. Things were moving quickly but she's explicitly shown leaving the party.
>Black """writer"""
>Egyptian Gods
Oh Nonononononononononononononononononono~
Cushite/nilotic/afro-semite/eastafricanBros.... our response?
I'm going to start watching Nocturne, but I skipped massive parts of season 1, 2 and never watched the other seasons. Do I need to know anything that was specific to the anime? I know my game-specific Castlevania lore.
Ancient Egyptians were Hungarian.
WRONG!!! KEMET WAS BOSNIAN!!!
How are the Belmonts able to use magic?
I just hope the next season takes its time fleshing out the the relationship of the group. I doubt the show will get 4 seasons like the previous one so they better speed it up to achieve a finale that feels just as good
As long as best boy Mizrak sticks around, I'm fine with that. Edo and Jacques need to get out of dodge and join too, I don't see the point in them staying around when multiple people on Bathory's side has said he needs to shut the frick up.
Seen better
AWWW SHIIIIET WHITEBOI FRICKED UP MY WEEEEEEEAVE
GibiASMR is gonna atleast 2 tattoos because of this show.
>People claim to be fans and say they hate the show
>Meanwhile the people that post their huge collection of every Castlevania games (including unreleased ones) say they love the shows
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Real fans love the shows, no shit. Only Cinemaphile and /misc/ gays shit on it
So you mean the only people who like this show are those with no standards and will buy anything with the Castlevania logo on it?
I'm a Castlevania fan but I don't like everything named Casltevania. I'm not braindead.
Very few people actually care about Castlevania aside from a few hardcore fans that love the the series' so far. All these "fans" with negative comments are mostly just casuals stopping by to be racists and the like
You can throw this bullshit around as much as you like. At least on the Japanese end, the new series is a non entity at comicet.
The show usurps Aria of Sorrow as the worst Castlemania ever
Real fans love it and fake fans just use it to spin their racist agenda
>consoomers like dogshit
ya don't say
Duh, nothing but pretenders shitting on Nocturne
Stop fricking astroturfing troony, fans of castlevania on the twatters are telling people NOT to watch this shit, not even as hate watch, nice try but you will never be a real woman.
This is why i tell people that Cinemaphile got overtaken by the trooners in the last few years, since they knwo normies STILL think that Cinemaphile is still a bastion of free speech, when in reality, it stop being so since GG.
Can you please stop netflix shill?
>real fans love it
>but it's totally unrelated to the stuff they like beside name of characters and brand.
There is people who love 90s Mario bros film and 90s street fighter movie. There is always dumb people.
>It's immune from criticism because being viewed as a racist is WORST thing ever.
When they do Turok they're just gonna make him a black dude because liberals don't give a frick about Native Americans.
>Eat the slop or you're a racist
I didn't expect the shills to pull the race card that quickly.
Nobody is making you watch the show.
I dropped this show because of the bisexual scene with Alucard.
Never in a million years would Alucard have buttsex.
Thing is, the stupid official account made Annette the center of a false statement.
Finished the series. Only somewhat decent catholic fricks men butts. Only person to use the power of Jesus is a witch. The absolute state of christians in media
Richter throws a grand cross near the end, I just wish they showed him praying at some point or something.
Christianity has no meaning in Castlevania Christianity is just a system of power like in a shonen, think of Christian faith as chakra or ki energy
...and praying is the equivalent of those ninja hand signs or goku screaming and sharting himeslf. It shows up in the games and is notable for it's absense. Especially if they're going to actually do shit with the church.
Only the Japanese know Castlevania. Every cutscene is better than this Western garbage.
Looks like Revolver Ocelot took up a side gig of being a circus announcer.
Ever notice that half of Death's moveset from LoI is just copied from Metal Gear RAY? Even the arena is similar.
Is this show actually trying to paint the French Revolution in a positive light?
Really loved Nocturne, I find it strange anyone actually disliked it
>shitty animation
>shitty voice acting
>shitty dialog
>shitty pacing
>I find it strange anyone actually disliked it
why the frick would that feel strange to you?
The first few episodes pretty lame and all the preachy exposition was pushing me to the point of dropping it entirely. Things picked up as soon as Richter encountered Olrox though and now I’m invested in seeing it through to the end.
can't wait for the next season, want to see how Maria and Alucard interact. hope he goes wolf modo at least once and she rides around on him
I want to see her interact with the gay knight, she full on hates the church now and he is kind of part of it
She was just spitting venom because she was upset and hurt.
Also some sidestories like how Dracula made Drolta babysit Alucard would be cool.
>Also some sidestories like how Dracula made Drolta babysit Alucard would be cool.
I keep forgetting we literally have tumblr refugees here
Everyone worships something, be it a God, an idealogy, some force of nature. To deny this is foolish. The Abrahamic God is the realization there's one greater whole. Maria in the series per example is as much as a zealot as her father is.
I'll now watch your gay show.
This whole show is a Reddit moment.
>You fricking enjoy this shit, Boco?
>Sniff it all up, I haven't washed my feet since the days of Cleopatra
