I'd rather they not do a copout for the belmonts and actually move on to the morrises
Richter cucking the bloodline needs to still be a thing to make the entrance of based Julius as awesome as possible
>good animation,
It's vey inconsistent >likable characters and relationships,
Come on, they made almost every character act like a moron or an butthole. It was way too western in how it handled the writing for its own good.
I'm guessing in this universe he sealed himself up after his friends died of natural causes, and also after femmeGrant died
he wasn't in France to begin with and probably woke up in response to the eclipse
The new series is worse in those regards. It had an interesting subject matter in the form of Revolution and the Enlightenment. But instead had some 3rd grade level of historical thought. Examine the way the writers covered the Haitian Slave Revolt by looking at it as “Black folk = good” and completely ignoring that the slave revolt and its consequences is what made Haiti such a shithole today.
>why didn't this netflix show cater to my bigoted beliefs and expand its historic context to include modern-day Haiti, even though it's set in the 1600s?
You're an idiot. Haiti is a shithole because of neo-colonialism, and if YOU could read above a third grade level, or indeed had any interest in the subject beyond "shithole=bad ergo Black folk=bad" you would see how blindingly obvious that truth is.
Furthermore, all slaves, everywhere, all the time, are in the moral right. Because slavery is a moral wrong. If you find these opinions unpalletable, then you can eat shit and see how that affects your pallete, as these are truths generally accepted in the world today. have a nice day if you would like to exit the world.
No, all slaves everywhere all the time are in the moral wrong, because being free is a moral right, and the people enslaved deserve it for being weak and not defending themselves
Haiti is a shit hole because they committed white genocide, even on the wypipo who helped them, and destroyed anyone who knew how to run a society (Zimbabwe did something similar)
Those innocent slaves killed the whites that helped them or had no dog in the slave trade to begin with. It was an ugly, brutal affair and the fact that you're defending this show's glorification of it shows how much of a gay you are.
>completely ignoring that the slave revolt and its consequences is what made Haiti such a shithole today
You mean the consequences of other nations responding to the slave revolt, right
And those are all problems you dense Black person. But what really pisses me off the most is the fricking writers turning Dracula into a good boy who didn't do nothing and gets a happy end. Frick off with that shit, Jesus
>why are people talking about things the show talks about?
What else is there to talk about? The entire season's plot and characters revolve around socio-politics.
I liked it. I think it could hve been better. It's hard to care about a character that gets 1 episode of backstory when we've been sitting with the other characters for decades.
>we've been sitting with the other characters for decades.
They're not even remotely the same characters so I had the opposite reaction. This series didn't bother me as much as the previous one because this one is SO much more removed from the games. This shit doesn't even pretend to be Castlevania anymore, and that's a good thing.
Modernisms in historical settings do more to turn me off of a series than anything else.

All historical media, for all time, has always featured modernisms.
Bonnie and Clyde was more about 60s counterculture than 20s history. Shakespeare's historical plays were more about Elizabethan England than they were about Ancient Rome or Fair Verona.
Read a history book if you want history, fiction very rarely communicates hard facts well.
Once you've actually read a history book, you will then discover that history is also full of bias depending on the time of its writing, and then you will contend with this all over again. But at least at that point you'll be doing it on a higher frequency of intelligence than a thread about a vampire cartoon.

There's literal time travel and scrying the future for knowledge and just stealing things you think are interesting that goes down as part of the lore
Mostly just think them dropping f-bombs everywhere is juvenile and tiresome. The Try Hard label comes to mind.

>Modernisms in historical settings
It's part of Castlevania
There's literal time travel and scrying the future for knowledge and just stealing things you think are interesting that goes down as part of the lore
setting
Castlevania games are extremely anachronistic, they almost never have anything to do with their "actual" historical setting. There are extremely rare references, such as WWI soldier skeletons in Bloodlines and modern military zombies in Aria, but that's about it.
horror
The games originally drew their bestiary from classic Hammer horror movies and Ray Harryhausen films, and later they also started including monsters from mythology and folklore. This "monster mash" gimmick is completely absent from the show, as 99% of monsters are just nondescript monster OCs not present in any of the games.
killing
Vampires, aside from Dracula himself, are extremely rare in Castlevania games. This focus on vague "vampire-killing" in general was purely the show's invention. The games are about Dracula, and only Dracula.
Sure, a game would add one original vampire every once in a while, but most of them would be one-offs that get no fanfare and then never appear afterwards. The only notable recurring vampire is Carmilla.
The original series was full of made-up vampire OCs, and then Nocturne cobbles together Olrox from SotN and Elizabeth from Bloodlines just to barely make a workable main cast. It also turns Drolta into a vampire, which she wasn't in the games.
It depends. Elemental magic in the games ONLY appears in relation to the Belnades clan. The Belmonts' holy powers are not interchangeable with elemental magic. Juste's gimmick is that he combines his subweapons with elemental magic, making him functionally half-Belnades and half-Belmont. He is the exception that proves the existence of the rule.
legacy
Again, the show does NOT depict the Belmonts' rivalry against fricking Dracula. In the games, Belmonts and their relatives work together to defeat Dracula every time he's resurrected, not some vague idea of vampires in general like in the show.
I see through your lies

Acting moronic on purpose isn't a good look for your side of the argument.
I wonder if Tera will still love Maria since it seems even some of the common vamps are capable of the emotion. Though it'll be pretty warped probably.
>Tera being turned in front of the Abbot.
Good god I felt sick to my stomach the whole scene, is this how it feels to get NTRD?
I do look foward to her change in personality and I think her new relationship dynamics with Ritcher and Maria can make the show interesting for once.
It was quite the unique scene that you'd only get with something like vampire lore, some kind of personality or soul death you're witnessing firsthand...
Seeing her next season is a big deal and whether or not there is a timeskip. I hope Richter lays into Alucard a bit for not being around for his family if he really did love his great grandparents so much. I'd be fine if he has an excuse but I want to see some of that angst.
Also I wonder if she'll be the key to stopping Erzsebet since they make it clear they can feed on each other which I don't think we saw in their canon of it so far but I can't remember.
I don't particularly think there will be a timeskip but they will retreat for sure and devise a new plan.
I don't think Alucard can't do much against Elizebeth right now even with all his power and weapon haxes and they just lost Mommy Tera so Ritcher and Maria must be feeling like absolute shit at the prospect of harming her.
In the worst case Tera's personality will do a 180 with some instances of her old personality here and there and either she becomes the key to beat Elizebeth or they find a way to turn her back into human (much like in the actual Rondo of Blood game with Anette)
I wonder if Tera will still love Maria since it seems even some of the common vamps are capable of the emotion. Though it'll be pretty warped probably.
Shame they did the bare minimum with it, not sure why we can have the killing but not some long drawn out feeding with writhing and mewling like a heavy makeout session
Imagine if in S2 of the original Castlevania, the trio fails to besiege the castle and destroy the teleportation device, Dracula is still alive and then Saint Germain shows up and kills Isaac in one hit.
That's what Nocturne did, but it showed an Egyptian Goddess roleplayer into a Hungarian serial killer and spent half the runtime talking about slavery.
Thanks Netflix.
Is not so much that she is a girl boss rather than her just being a teenager without a father and her having summon magic that can actually get shit done. After things start getting serious halfway through the story she mellows down.
If the Dominican Republic offered Hatians a free ride back to Africa, would the Haitians take it?
Haiti is a bleak place. Many Haitians want to go to the good side of the island. Would they want to go to the abundant continent of Africa?

>Exacerbating Haiti’s hunger crisis, food prices were 23 percent higher in June 2022, compared to June 2021. Dramatic floods and soil erosion triggered by deforestation and watershed degradation have also undermined agricultural production in some areas.
>The 2021 earthquake affected 800,000 people. Insecurity and insufficient funds stalled aid delivery to areas affected by a devastating earthquake in 2021. Those in need of humanitarian assistance, including shelter and access to health, education, and other essential services, increased from 4.4 million in 2021 to 4.9 million in 2022.
>Over a third of the population lacks access to clean water and two-thirds have limited or no sanitation service. Only 1 percent of the population had been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, as of October.
Hey, anon, why do certain countries have a lower vaccination rate than others, like Britain and France?
It has nothing to do with colonialism, right? Like, there isn't a new type of colonialism, a neo-colonialism, that works to disenfranchise certain countries with newer, more subtle methods than simple occupation and slavery, right? Yeah, I noticed there was a focus on american issues rather than vampires. I get the idea, but after some time you start rooting for the vampires.
Also, I can only imagine the femme slash fics with maria or her mom with sekmet/bathory.
It got annoying yeah but honestly? Pretty much all Netflix shit ultimately becomes about america one way or another. Same with everything else in hollywood. Kinda why I hoped the strike would've lasted longer, so European and Asian studios would've had a chance to grow and replace them.
Not bad, didn't expect an american adaptation to be this good. Especially when the original showrunner got offed from the project. Wish he stayed without that stupid allegation crap coming in. But I enjoyed the few episodes I've seen so far.
>terrible pacing for the first half >the cast has no chemistry >Marie was okay but had nothing going for her outside of being outspoken and rebellious and writers who aren’t British should stop writing british dialogue >Ritcher has the personality of bread and is pushed aside for the most part. >the black girl was just another bland girl boss just like every other black girl in western animation nowadays >Tera is hot as frick as well as that french girl flirting with richter >Olrox was entertaining >church bad! >the sun god vampire was stupid >Alucard looked cool
5/10
bad!
Given how the Catholic church is treated in Japan, this is somewhat true to lore.
Also, irl Catholic church is bad. Can't prosecute pedophile priests, just move them around. LOL
You can historically show the church being bad. I hate that there are NO good believers even the lowly soldiers are ready to slaughter their families for vampire nobles next to literal demons from literal hell. Why does the church have any power against evil at all at this point? Why does the cross work against them in the first place if they can just shit on and manipulate every single member from lowest to highest.
The religion part makes no sense. There are African spirit worlds but also Egypt was right but also Christian hell exists and these ancient Egyptian vampire gods can still be smote with the power of Jesus Christ?
>Why does the cross work against them in the first place if they can just shit on and manipulate every single member from lowest to highest.
The previous series gave a pretty halfassed explanation for this. It's not the religion behind the cross that affects them (even though Vaublanc outright suffers burns from his cross cage because "he's always been scared of the church"), the shape of the cross scrambles their brains.
That is very stupid yeah. Do they ever outright say the church is all made up and powerless? I thought the undead in the first season were pretty confident in hell and God, just that he had abandoned the church for being too evil or something.
In the first series they do both. Lisa at the stake tries to get everyone to not do something stupid because (and this is me paraphrasing) "unlike Satan, Dracula is real", but at the same time the Night Creature that kills the bishop pretty much confirms God is real by saying that he's disgusted by what the bishop did in his name.
https://www.tiktok.com/@sandybeachs/video/7236112418861026586
The cross giving them seizures was just a reference to the novel Blindsight and saying vampires of other regions not involved with Christianity still got hurt by the cross for some reason
Yeah I just finished it myself. It's OK. A solid 6/10.
Too much >Let's all go to where the bad guys are! >OH NO WE FAILED AND BARELY MANAGED TO ESCAPE (well, most of us)
Seriously, that shit happened like three times in 8 episodes, including the finale. Also Richter is a pretty boring protagonist and I do not care for the main villain. Aristocracy and slavers all being vampires was a little bit too much and really muddied the real life importance of the revolutions. It's no longer the people vs the monarchy or slaves vs masters, they turned it all into a literal race war of humans vs vampires.
Fight scenes were cool and hard carried the show.
>Aristocracy and slavers all being vampires was a little bit too much and really muddied the real life importance of the revolutions.
I think it straight up undermines the metaphor. How a vampire controls a population through strength, fear, fake promises and even (metaphorical or actual) rape does a good job at exposing the general issue with having an elite class. Not ground breaking stuff but something you'd lay on to of, well maybe a sword and sorcery story about a young man and friend. When its just actual aristocracy, that's not a metaphor any more. They did the bad things for real selfish reasons you should maybe focus on instead. Actual historical events? Well now doubly so you've got to have something interesting to actually say about these events. Saying the French and slaves got a bit mad cause vampires ignores context. That means you've got to do a lot more work addressing the real world issues on top of your magical story. Which isn't done by characters soap boxing that good things good, revolutions and the changes in politics aren't easy topics to handle.
I enjoyed it, probably not quite as much as the original but I have to remember this was just season 1. It definitely was better than season 1 of the original series. I think what I missed most was the palace intrigue the original had, we got tastes of that but I could do with more. Overall a very good start and I hope they get to tell a full story and eventually touch on elements of SOTN.
I'm usually pretty laissez-faire about what kinds of entertainment other people enjoy, but for the life of me I can't see how anybody could possibly like this without being some sort of brain dead cretin. Ut's the stereotypical "Netflix show" in the worst possible way. The importunate edginess, the heavy-handed racial politics abd religion-bashing, the forced homosexualry and unnecessary profanity like it was written by a teenager trying to impress the Cool kids during lunch. How can anyone who hasn't had their brains turned to mush from years of slop possibly find any redeemable qualities here?
>You have to explain intrinsecally that the Haiti revolt was horrible because of white genocide >Two hot black chicks is apparentaly woke now and a white guy fricking one of them means he's "tainted"
Same people who say to push politics and gays out of animation by the way
>we should push politics out of animation >because the politics of this show are muddled and confused
Sounds like we need stronger, better politics in animation, so that shows can follow through with their ideological thesis through the design and animation stages.
Fricking idiot homosexual, just say you don't play Castlevania or care about vampires or even shows of proper quality, by denying the intricacies of the haitian revolution that's clearly a product of their own wrongdoings by denying a proper agreement that was proposed by the then-leaders of the region, ie unterwerfen sich der Gehirnwäsche der Juden und Liberalen, um den stolzen arischen Ethnostaat zum Wohle der Menschheit zu säubern, indem Sie die Popularität von Rap-Musik und Coon-Kultur bei den minderwertigen Rassen steigern.
>denying the intricacies of the haitian revolution that's clearly a product of their own wrongdoings by denying a proper agreement that was proposed by the then-leaders of the region
Lmao the French immediately reneged on any agreement with the Haitians the minute Napoleon got into power
It's why the French had it fricking coming, they were already planning on either killing or re-enslaving every single black person on that island if the Haitians didn't kill them first
>literally nowhere i can discuss it because Cinemaphile will never not be mad about the black and gay characters and everywhere else is just a little too up the show's ass for my liking
Do what I did. Make an obnoxious post complaining about the repetitive complaining and then repetitively reply to everyone making that complaint linking them to the post. Seems to be working.
90% of this thread is people complaining about what you don't want them to complain about, 5% is coomers, and the other 5% is shills giving vague "I liked it" without going into any specifics. By what metric is that "working?"
I liked the sexy vampires, the fact they actually bothered to show feeding this time around for more than 1 second, I liked the fights and use of their abilities and I liked the voice acting for most of the characters, Erzsebet scenes seemed off.
You're just a disney shill trying to silence competition.

Only if it was a lame one-liner. There are plenty of good ones he could have given, or not said anything at all. Either option would have shown sincerity to the scene. But the subversion shows how disinterested the writer is in telling an authentic story. >They picked some really good voices, especially Olrox.

Clearly, this is as Castlevania as it gets.
I would know, I never enjoyed Castlevania before it got a Netflix adaptation.
That requires way too much commitment to background art and animation for action, since it would mostly just be a character exploring on their own and kicking monster ass.

Theres a literal slave girl in this show and somehow Maria is the whiny one, she had it better than everyone else, until the finale that is
Maria aside, I really like the rest of the cast, and plot was pretty cool.
Yea, this is getting kinda sad.
I get that this is Cinemaphile and the autism levels are higher here, but this dude is beyond autistic.

So what's Drac up to? Lisa's been six feet under for a couple centuries by now and considering everyone's scrambling around Bathory I doubt that he went back to being a bad vamp.
to be fair he was probably still in Wallachia, it probably took him awhile to get to France once this dhampir senses started going off, even if he turned into mist and rode a high altitude wind stream
Yeah it could just be an instance "Do you have any idea many things there are that need slaying in this world?"

I guess to be fair, Alucard does say he's slayed hundreds of thousands of vampires, I forget exactly which, when he meets Richter and Maria. So maybe he wasn't dormant because in the first series he kills like maybe 20 at most.

Alternatively >Commune goes well >Leaves one day >Comes back and they've all been burned and staked
That's pretty much what happens in the main CV timeline though. Alucard went to sleep until SOTN which takes place in 1796, 7 years into the French revolution.
*sigh* Bathory isn't in Rondo. Is this a literal netflix producer posting here?

Well shit. One of them had her and she was named Elizabeth Bartley instead of Erszebet Bathory, still means they're pulling their villains from the game rather than OCs.

in this case she may as well be an OC though, they made her stronger than Dracula and rooted in Sekhmet. She just loosely has a similar backstory (which becomes irrelevant when the egyptian backstory is revealed)

True.
I guess Carmilla has some more room for writers own interpretation compared to Isaac.
But I expected her to at least take some inspiration from the book she was named after, the whole lesbian vampire thing, but instead went completely with it's own thing to the point where I wonder why they named her Carmilla at all.

Carmilla was shoved in first season because they didn't want original Bathory's there. Ironic, since she's like his cousin or something, by blood.

Wasted opportunity. The entire middle part of season 2 with all the vampire jobbers was a big waste of time.
Had they waited a bit longer using her as a character then they could use her as some minor villain against secondary female main characters.

Book Carmilla was more of a tragidy character with a severe crush for women.
Bathory is more like a female version of Dahmer. She's always been a relentless sadist with phobia of growing old.
honestly its a dream job for the creatives in this industry, they always want to inject their own secret sauce donut steel OCs into shit so they can show it off in their reels and portfolios. The number of times I've seen some artist work with material they're unfamiliar with just to chase trends and social media engagement, but then also inject their own spin on it, is unreal. It sounds impressive to say you worked on Castlevania, not so much that you were making some OC bondage furry demon.
We haven't had this happen though. The only thing that's different villain wise here is that she's named Erszebet Bathory instead of Elizabeth Bartley like in Rondo.
Elizabeth doesn't appear in Rondo of Blood but Bloodlines, the Castlevania game without Belmont. Bloodlines, blood, I get the confusion.
At the end of season 4 of the netflix series Dracula and his wife as been resurrected and "redeemed" now that he has no reason to kill humanity anymore.
Making him return as the main villain would mean retconning that ending. Either he changed his mind again and still wants to kill humanity or he still got killed starting his resurrection cycle like in the games.
>Want family and friends who don't play videogames to partake of a thing I enjoy >It doesn't matter because the thing I enjoy's version in a medium they enjoy isn't anything like it >This is fine because the original audience are chuds anyways so who cares
it's exhausting.
Maria is a popular self-insert for female Castlevania fans since the original game; they even made a drama CD specifically aimed at them with Alucard admitting to himself he loves her. But he met her when she was 17-18. Western fans might find it controversial that they first met when she was 12.
I 100% expected them to make her lesbian but was pleasantly surprised they had her into young boys. Guessing it was supposed to be about her ill will toward men and if they're young enough they aren't "men" in her mind and it's probably an even further extent of having power over them
She devoured the soul of Sekhmet so she is Sekhmet, according to her own words.
They're using some vampire lore about vampires taking in the souls of people they drink, they even call her the devourer of souls IIRC when Drolta was introducing her. Vampires don't actually want the blood traditionally, they want the soul. Their way of getting the soul is through the medium of the blood, take all of someone's blood and you take in their soul. This conflicts with them being able to drink pig's blood but I guess we could say they want sources of "mana/prana" in this interpretation I suppose.
Excuse me for being the one pointing to the elephant in the room but. What was the whole point of turning Maria's mom into a vampire or even Maria if, well, aside from the sexual tension that is, a person turned vampire still retains her mentality intact? it's not like Sekmet will make them stop hating her.
Maybe a hostage and plaything to roam around when she's bored. There's really no point other than that. if Alucard hadn't shown up, Maria would still be taken to Sekmet turned. Can't trust her for shit.
Alucard turns her, not Sekmet. I can see Alucard and Sekmet clash over this in a future season, with Alucard giving her a beating too. Technically, she's his cool wine aunt.
Standard vampire lore, people turned often lose their souls in one way or another and their personality shifts depending on the work. We saw how Tera's sister was acting as soon as she revealed her vampire nature, she wasn't coming off as normal upon seeing Tera. So it's safe to assume Tera will have a new personality. If you get older and more powerful you can probably develop something closer to your original personality...maybe.
And the point of turning them was to have control over the Abbot. Vampirism isn't supposed to be just some random power up and I don't think Castlevania is treating it as such. For instance Forgemasters can't retain their gifts which are related to souls if they're turned into vampires, so the rule for that could very well be related to your soul.
I'm a huge fan of Enlightment and the French Revolution, I even watched La Marseillaise and read books from the period. In the other hand, I don't like Black folk. Do you think I can like the show?
are you okay with the idea of the show preaching that miscegenation seals away vampire killing holy powers for centuries and curses a divine bloodline?
>Richter curses the Belmont bloodline so bad the Morrises have to take up the whip because Belmonts literally cant use VK anymore >Morrises do this despite the fact VK drains their life force >in netflix canon it just so happens Richter's descendants are part African

PoR claims its due to the prophecy of Nostradamus, the Morrises can use it but at the expense of their life. Beyond that nothing is really said in the games. It's just the case that the Belmonts can't use it until 1999.
In Netflix its because they're black and Julius is reasonably diluted.
>He is still righteous and good
The Christian god isn't really good though. Actually, he's kind of a dick.
One of the most straightforward examples of this is in the book of Exodus, where he straight up tells Moses that he'll have to plead with the Pharaoh ten times because he himself will make the Pharaoh stubborn ten times over. He doesn't explain to Moses why but anyone that can read can plainly see he did this as an excuse to shower plagues upon Egypt.

This exchange has been imprinted in my mind ever since I was a kid.
doesn't matter what is your opinion on the church or the bible, or god, what matter is the game lore, that is the most important aspect of a setting, world building and game lore.
You mean Sypha Belnades. From the witch family that work for the Church? Yeah, man, Total frauds. It's almost like the show doesn't give a shit about what's in the actual games.
>Cinemaphile was ranting about how both Sypha wasn't in castlevania 3

that was the intention before the ending twist >and a weak character
because it's true
If you take this seriously or as an homage to Castlevania. You gonna have a bad time.
If you are clever, you can notice the political brainwashing with blacks, how vampires are always wealthy pale and caucasian, the church is bad, gays are good tragic people but lesbians are evil. You can't stop to laugh a little. I know they meant it as if they were doing something serious, but it turned out silly.
Actual Japanese should have been entrusted on this. At least, they would make the fanservice good looking.
Richter's actions 'cursing' his bloodline was merely an attempt to explain continuity in a series that barely had any. I don't expect the show to keep that aspect at all if they do more seasons after Richter.
He sealed the whip so it couldn't be used until 1999, that's why you have to interfere with his magic on it and his will to use it properly before then.
>The Belmont boy turned out to be useless as frick. He literally ran away.
This writing is horrendous, oh my god. Episode 6, 11 minutes in if you don't believe me.
The original was basically just Jeremy Blaustein doing his own thing (which is what got him canned from MGS after Kojima got wind of a lot of the changes he'd made) and then the DXC debub that was just trying to refine that. The fan retranslation is largely just 1:1 per the original.
I actually really like this, it's like a flowery Asian version of an old radio serial - I could imagine Cushing and Lee having a similar back and forth.
could you adapt this kind of dialogue to a show like this or would people see it as too overtly japanese?

It's great writing for the kind of genre that Castlevania always strove to be: gothic horror. It's melodramatic and lofty, but elegant in its own way.
The problem isn't it being seen as "too Japanese", it's not appealing to the zoomers, which this show was obviously made for.

Mexicans did it fine with their 90s dubs of anime.
The correct version is somehow worse. Sure, it feels a lot more natural and flowery but there's something about the corny cheesy 90s dialogue that both Richter and Dracula chew without mercy. It's why it's referenced all the time by the fanbase.

Forgot to say this in the middle of complaining about the wanker thing, but I will say, I did enjoy Richter beating the shit out of the vampires while combining magic and his whip, it was nice to see those fricks start to lose after being smug shits for so much of the season
the hand to hand combos were a highlight imo
the show shines when it actually lets Richter be cool, but unfortunately he's forced to job to put an emphasis on shitty OCs (or characters like Annette that are so radically changed from the source they may as well be OCs)
>Count Orlox obviously based from Nosferatu's Count Orlok >Boy, I can't wait to see a cool, weirdo, fricked up man bat vampire!
>It's ANOTHER pretty boy Interview with the Vampire lestat wanna be, who's also a homosexual
The Netflix show always used Castlevania as a skinsuit and it's pretty garbage the second you start thinking about the plotlines and character arcs but this was especially annoying. These writers don't give a shit about the actual setting of the games and pull whatever unrelated topical shit they feel like. Also, Elizabeth looks like Walmart Carmilla from Vampire Hunter D.
So why did Olrox let baby Richter live? He knew they were Belmonts and just gave Richter all the motivation he'd want to follow through in the family business.
If I had a dime every time Annette threw a weapon and it did nothing and then it boomeranged back just to do nothing again I'd go buy myself some McDonald.
She doesn't rip iron, she rips earth and makes weapons out of it. You see as much when they do that pointlessly long scene of her swords turning into dust then flying back into Tera's home to turn into plates when Anette and Edouard are first introduced. Her being able to bend metal bars probably runs on the same logic as Toph's metal bending where they're not manipulating the metal itself but rather the dirt impurities in it.
Not who she channels though unless you're saying that Richter and the gang eat out of metal plates and the bridge she made when they crossed to the chateau was made of iron.

Anonymous
My dude...you didn't know metal plates exist? Hahahahahaha

I know they exist, but with fiction, specially animation, they're often depicted with dark colors to establish to the viewer that they are different from ceramic and porcelain plates. Such is not the case here.

She clearly has dominion over metal since she's a distant demigod of IRON

Yet couldn't just bend the monster making device, and instead has to push it into the demon hole?
If she had dominion over metal she shouldn't need to push it, no matter if the device were made with demon knowledge. If however her control is only on dirt then you can reason away that the metals of the machine has no dirt impurities, similar to how it is with the unbendable metals in Avatar.

They explicitly said it couldn't be destroyed in their reality since its from hell. Essentially their rules for interacting with it don't exist properly.

Actually, what Tera says is that it can't be destroyed because it was made with powerful magic.
Which honestly is pretty fricking dumb because if it's got magic that makes it so that the screws stay screwed and the bolts stay bolted, then that should also mean it'd have magics that would make the machine stay where it's supposed to stay.

What? No, it's still an independent object interacting with other objects that it'd have no sway over. You're basically arguing that if it's bolted into the ground then the ground should be indestructible.

>You're basically arguing that if it's bolted into the ground then the ground should be indestructible.
No, rather I'm saying that if it were affixed to a place then it would, using the "omg hell magics" that govern it trying to shove the thing would make it just float in place with you moving the dirt under it.

It's really just that it's made in hell so that it can only be unmade in hell. It's a concept visited in various works like Lord of the Rings for instance. Probably based on the Nibelung being returned to the Rhine.
And you're just inventing random bonuses to attach to it. She can't use her metalbending on it and it can't be destroyed by any craft the possess so it must be returned to its origin.
damn this thread is pathetic, people really trying to defend this crap while claiming everyone who doesn't like it "just didn't play/understand the games" or "is a Cinemaphiletard or /misc/tard racist"
Actually the villains being all white would make sense considering vampires have been used as an allegory for decadent nobility since Bram Stoker's Dracula.
>Every character was butchered >Still just generic monsters instead of the variety from the games >Made the nice nun lady a villain and Maria's mom for some reason >Richter is sort of a pussy >Annette is a black girl boss revolutionary of all things >There is an Aztec vampire for some reason >NO FRICKING DRACULA >Maria isn't whimsical and silly
I used to sit around dreaming of a Castlevania anime. I could take them butchering 3 and that mediocre PS2 game but seeing them do this to Rondo hurts.
for all the girlboss shit pumped out this last decade there's a stark lack of actual girlbosses in the world
it just comes off as impotent, but maybe if they keep it up for another 30 years we might get a new girlboss or two in real life
Honestly, I just don't bother with American adaptations these days.
They just seem to get worse by the year.
I think the last one I even bothered giving a chance was Y: The Last Man, which was fricking terrible, so I just said frick it.
They kind of have to be at this point. Cartoons and comics are probably the gayest media out there at this point. If I watch an American cartoon made post-2015 I am fully expecting at least one major gay character. That is one of the many reasons I barely watch new cartoons anymore.
nta but Nocturne sucks because of shit pacing, rushed character development and exploration of relationships, and as usual for the series questionable scripts with even weirder voice direction
and for some reason, the audio mixing is all over the place
there's a lot of muh wokeism vs anti-wokeism shitflinging going on and that obscures the real issues with the show because not many people are willing to argue in good faith (and even if they are, if no one else is there's no point)

I mean personally I don't care that Annette is black now and BLACKing Richter, or that Olrox is now an aztec homosexual. But I do have a bit of a problem with Bathory being the big bad and also her having super duper god vampire powers that seem to supercede Drac's. I have girlboss fatigue, especially after season 3, and I have basically don't care about the villains at all in this season because of it. It's a whole lot of been there, done that. But beyond that I don't have a problem with the other "woke" stuff.
Ya know, I kinda like how the animated universe is totally different. We already got the original stories through the games. A 1:1 recreation would be kind of stale. Mixing it up feels fresh, and it's still cool to see all the characters reimagined. Glad Alucard is Alucard though
Now important question: Alucard and Maria meet pretty early this time around. They still gonna frick, or..?
You need to mix it up in a way that's good.
This show doesn't do that.
I just wish Cinemaphile posters would stop being such skinwalker shit-eaters who praise anything and anything because the cartoon side of this board has no standards.
Yes, but it doesn't scratch that itch. Unfortunately nothing does. Castlevania is a unique mix of good gameplay, goofy pop-horror, genuinely good atmosphere and self-seriousness that no one has managed to capture since the series died.
ehh it really falls apart at the end imo, and I'd say the two super bosses are the only good ones
I'm disappointed a bit more than others I suppose because I gave IGA $300
Funny because she had purple hair in RoB. Also Yoko isn't a love interest you dumb frick. Plus what makes you think people can't be interest in her even if she is a damsel?
Does anyone think that if they just swapped the names of Annette and Tera it would have infinitely made things better? Annette would be blonde, keep the bond connection between Richter and Maria and suffer the same fate as Bad End I'm Rondo.. and Tera is a girl who uses the power of earth with no real backstory to worry about retconning
>Richter is now a cuck whose girlfriend was fricked by an Abbot
You know she's named Annette because of the videogame character who is Richter's girlfriend, right?
Yes, I am very aware. I just thought it's a better idea than what we got and would atleast keep some of the original bond between the original characters. I would have preferred a more faithful adaptation though.
It's plenty faithful, Annette just went from a blank sheet to actually having interesting stuff going on for her.

She would have still got all of that in Tera's role. Tera was no slouch and plaus a pivotal role.

Game took place in Romania, not France. Olrox had nothing to do with Rondo. Bathory was the villain of Bloodlines, not Rondo. Shaft, the main antagonist and perpetrator in the game is not here. Tera was not Maria's mom, just a random Romanian nun that was also kidnapped. Annette was already Richter's girlfriend instead of being a foreigner witch. The Church was a force of good that had their own elite vampire hunters instead of everyone being evil and morally corrupt. Alucard was not in Rondo. Dracula doesn't exist anymore in this series because they redeemed him too hard.
Seriously, the list goes on. This adaptation only has names in common, so I ask you to explain how it is faithful to you so I can understand.

Is it basic? Yes, but there is a story. And there are plenty of ways you could have tackled such a setting. For instance, you could make it be a show more about unveiling a mystery, since Dracula was gone for good in this very show after his redemption, so this would be a case of someone forcefully reviving him for their own purposes.
But I digress. I legitimately like Castlevania and I am trying to discuss it, but you seem to not be interested in doing the same. I just wanted to know in detail how you found it faithful.

I just wanted to know in detail how you found it faithful.
but later games also retroactively expanded on Rondo's and SotN's stories, just like SotN expanded on CvIII, which was included in the first show. Nocturne doesn't even pretend to be Castlevania.

You aren't interested in discussing it at all, I see right through you.
Castlevania Season 1 & 2 was great. 3 was a drag and I'm assuming this might be too.
The studio that animates this is strained from all the shows they have to make since then and you can see this in the animation quality. Nose dived after Castlevania S3.
Not gonna watch.
This series coulda been amazing if they stretched the Dracula arc for at least 1 more season maybe 2.
In a vacuum it was good, but compared to OG, Its an step down.
Richted can live up to Trevor.
Maria an her mom together cant live up to Sypha.
The black girl and Mazra combines cant live up to Alucard.
Elizabeth is just a fanficted power Boosted Carmilla.
Jeun or Jean or whatever grandpa was, was 100% unnecessary for the plot.
Priest is a really poor Forge Master.
A little tooo much focus on the whole “le revolution”.
Why the frick the Velmont Line still only 1 descendant?
Trevor time had the excuse that his fricking clan was exiled or killed.
No way He and Sypha stuck to 1 kid.
Also fighting wise, everyone is incredible incompetent compared to the previous team
Maria and Tera are Belmont descendants through a side family.
You only saw Maria and Tera for 1 season and Sypha got 4. Abbot clearly didn't get training and probably couldn't due to his station, probably has very little understanding of what he does.
Maria and Tera are Speakers Descendants, not Belmont descendants.
Sypha did more in S2 and what they did in S1.
Only really cool part of maria was the church fight. 10+ style point for the foot portal into Turtle UpperCut.
And still all was “moot” cause for not absolutely fricking reason a Russian Vampire had Egyptian Gods powers.
>Maria and Tera are Speakers Descendants, not Belmont descendants.
They outright tell you they're Belmont descendants just like in the games. Richter says they're "cousins" in the show
before going to sleep, so All I remember is "I was a priests of Skemwhatever. She god her blood, she became a god, yada yada yada"

So unless Dracula being the most powerful Vampire in the world only applied to Wallachia or some how an Egyptian God was alive till 1400s, I dont see how Elizabeth could have been "an old and powerful vampire that killed a god" existed while Dracula existed too.
>bloodline gets a bit africanized
>literally can't crack whips anymore
you can't make this stuff up
netflix can tho
There's still Morning Star.
I'd rather they not do a copout for the belmonts and actually move on to the morrises
Richter cucking the bloodline needs to still be a thing to make the entrance of based Julius as awesome as possible
It was entertaining, good animation, likable characters and relationships, that's all I really want.
>good animation,
It's vey inconsistent
>likable characters and relationships,
Come on, they made almost every character act like a moron or an butthole. It was way too western in how it handled the writing for its own good.
Choppy especially episode 8, but the choreography was there.

Did he really sleep through all this shit?
I'm guessing in this universe he sealed himself up after his friends died of natural causes, and also after femmeGrant died

Every Castlevania thread until we die.
If you find these opinions unpalletable, then you can eat shit and see how that affects your pallete, as these are truths generally accepted in the world today. have a nice day if you would like to exit the world.
>because of neo-colonialism
See this is your mind on Black folk. Incapable of thought just like the writers of this show.
No, all slaves everywhere all the time are in the moral wrong, because being free is a moral right, and the people enslaved deserve it for being weak and not defending themselves
Dude, read a book and learn what a fricking "right" is, you drooling moron. You're embarrassing yourself.
>slavers good because skin color same as me!
Your beliefs are so weak because they require so little thought.
There is nothing wrong with slavery
You have to be 18 to post here, anon.
>1600s
homie the show is set in the 1780s
Oh, so the modern day, then! My argument is completely unfounded!
I hope a pack of feral youths beat you to death with a cinder block
>Haiti is a shithole because of neo-colonialism
Haiti is a shit hole because they committed white genocide, even on the wypipo who helped them, and destroyed anyone who knew how to run a society (Zimbabwe did something similar)
Haiti would still be terrible with a white 5% ruling class. Because it would still be 95% Haitians.
Those innocent slaves killed the whites that helped them or had no dog in the slave trade to begin with. It was an ugly, brutal affair and the fact that you're defending this show's glorification of it shows how much of a gay you are.
Look at all those people you baited with something so obvious. Well done.
Yes it was colonialism that made them moronic and continue to be moronic.
Definitely not something inherent to their being, culture, and society.
Reminder: Britain was the Roman Haiti.
>UH NOOOO MY MORALIZING BAITPOST ONLY APPLIES TO BLACK SLAVES!
Naturally.
>t. homosexual
>completely ignoring that the slave revolt and its consequences is what made Haiti such a shithole today
You need to improve your reading comprehension, then, brainlet.
N
the bible is cool with slaves

that has nothing to do with what you posted
>muh religion
As someone that's played the games since the 90s it's very much Castlevania.
As someone who has played every single game except the fricking Sonia Belmont one on the Game Boy, I disagree.
>historical setting
>gothic horror
>vampire killing
>monsters
>magic
>Belmont legacy
Literally Castlevania, but you can "not muh" until you die, I suppose.
See above then suck my dick, homosexual.
No thanks, I don't need to see how stupid you are.
Cope and seethe secondary, Castlevania is not for you. Leave.
>Eleventhary thinks he knows anything

I don't care about your opinion on this show, you idiot. You were legit being racist and I called you out for it.
>You're trying to devalue my argument by calling racism!
No. You devalued your own argument by being racist. I don't even know which opinion ITT is yours, because the post I was replying to had nothing to do with this show.
one of the posts you replied to that had nothing to do with racism so you devalued yourself. overusing a term gives it less value, not more. good job moron.
But he's right. Half the reason the Belmonts are shunned is it can take centuries for Dracula yo resurrect
No point arguing with morons
Nah, you're wrong as usual.

This, doesn't understand the setting or lore or anything and just rages about his racist shit.
See
Dracula resurrects every 100 years, sometimes more often but weakened
And sometimes no Belmont even shows up when Dracula comes back, lazy fricks
>I'll disagree with facts and pretend I'm right! I'll just bloat my post!
But that doesn't work
Acting moronic on purpose isn't a good look for your side of the argument.
>not muh
Until you die, anon.
I see through your lies
As someone who's played every single game including the Sonia Belmont one and the pachinko ones, y'all are arguing over the dumbest shit.
Thank you.
do they have straight sex? if not, dont answer
Wait a season or two.
Canonically the priest had straight sex with Maria's mom, but I don't think there's been on-screen straight sex unlike the gay sex.
Yeah it was fun, interesting ending too. I'm really excited about seeing vampire Tera next season and how her personality is altered.
People can say what they want, but Annette is fricken gorgeous! I don't care for the giraffe neck with far apart breasts
I wonder if Tera will still love Maria since it seems even some of the common vamps are capable of the emotion. Though it'll be pretty warped probably.
I swear to god The Marquis wife, Julia and Mommy Tera absolutley destroyed my dick while watching this.
I can't help myself when I see a MILF with good design and Tera's voice and mannerisms were pure fricking GATO SEXO.
Now we just need to be patient and let the fanart roll in...or see if anyone manages to compile some decent bots of the characters on character.ai
I got hard to the main baddie praying on the younger lady while dancing with her.
That was the intended effect
Shame they did the bare minimum with it, not sure why we can have the killing but not some long drawn out feeding with writhing and mewling like a heavy makeout session
Imagine if in S2 of the original Castlevania, the trio fails to besiege the castle and destroy the teleportation device, Dracula is still alive and then Saint Germain shows up and kills Isaac in one hit.
That's what Nocturne did, but it showed an Egyptian Goddess roleplayer into a Hungarian serial killer and spent half the runtime talking about slavery.
Thanks Netflix.
Swear to god if they make the fricking Aztecs good, or if they don't let Richter beat the hell out of Aztec Vampire butthole.
I mean Isaac being beaten down like a b***h is what I wanted ever since the fricking shithead first showed up.
oralax is going to be whammu
I hope you're right. The guy fricking killed Richter's mom, he shouldn't get to have a happy ending. Especially since the mom was pretty hot.
I respect it.
This whole series feels like trashy fanfiction some edgy kid would have written on their LiveJournal in 2004 while listening to Linkin Park.
How's Richtor?
Young, it's the beginning of his great adventures. He's got the basis for who he is in his talents but now he has to master them.
Just tell me 12 years old Maria isn't some kind girl boss like the trailers made it look like, please.
Is not so much that she is a girl boss rather than her just being a teenager without a father and her having summon magic that can actually get shit done. After things start getting serious halfway through the story she mellows down.
I've only got three things to tell you, anon.
Gaslight.Gatekeep.Vive la revolution.
If the Dominican Republic offered Hatians a free ride back to Africa, would the Haitians take it?
Haiti is a bleak place. Many Haitians want to go to the good side of the island. Would they want to go to the abundant continent of Africa?
>More than half of Haitians are chronically food insecure, and 22 percent of children are chronically malnourished.
Yikes. I hope things turn around for them soon.
Hey, anon, why do certain countries have a lower vaccination rate than others, like Britain and France?
It has nothing to do with colonialism, right? American culture is centered around
YO I'M BAM MARGERA AND THIS IS GAY VAMPIRE SEX
Not bad, didn't expect an american adaptation to be this good. Especially when the original showrunner got offed from the project. Wish he stayed without that stupid allegation crap coming in. But I enjoyed the few episodes I've seen so far.

Nothing worked on Erzsebet...
Doesn't the sun still work that's why they had to block it?
Not even that since she turned it off lol
I assume they'll get her in the end by turning it back on.
None of them are egyptian. Erszebet Bathory drank Sekhmet's blood, but she's still Hungarian.
Too much
>Let's all go to where the bad guys are!
>NOOOO! YOU CAN'T JUST TALK ABOUT THINGS THE WRITERS PUT AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE SHOW AND TAINF THE ENTIRE PRODUCTION!
I’m not going to watch this shit so tell me. Does he have Uno?
>You have to explain intrinsecally that the Haiti revolt was horrible because of white genocide
>Two hot black chicks is apparentaly woke now and a white guy fricking one of them means he's "tainted"
Same people who say to push politics and gays out of animation by the way
>we should push politics out of animation
>because the politics of this show are muddled and confused
Sounds like we need stronger, better politics in animation, so that shows can follow through with their ideological thesis through the design and animation stages.
What's so muddled and confusing about "don't treat homies like shit"?
It's why the French had it fricking coming, they were already planning on either killing or re-enslaving every single black person on that island if the Haitians didn't kill them first
No white guy fricked any of the black girl what the frick are you talking about
>he doesn't know about the games
>literally nowhere i can discuss it because Cinemaphile will never not be mad about the black and gay characters and everywhere else is just a little too up the show's ass for my liking
Do what I did. Make an obnoxious post complaining about the repetitive complaining and then repetitively reply to everyone making that complaint linking them to the post. Seems to be working.
if your goal was exposing your own mental illness then it absolutely worked!
You're just a disney shill trying to silence competition.
>everyone who dislikes my shitty show is a shill
>The shill attempts to deflect and fails
You don't remember what he said, go back and listen to him again. He did evil shit.
>He did evil shit
Such as?
not that anon, he lied to save his own ass.
He outright says how he betrays others to their deaths.
have a nice day.
The fights were a huge downgrade from other seasons though. The one cool moment with Richter getting his powers back is undermined by a terrible subversion of one-liner finishers.
Sexy vampires are everywhere. You don't need Castlevania to get your fix. And the voice acting wasn't anything exceptional.
>The fights were a huge downgrade from other seasons though
Nah, they were quite good.
If he delivered a one liner you would have said that was lame.
They picked some really good voices, especially Olrox.
>If he delivered a one liner you would have said that was lame.
I don't care for that scene either. Quipping about not having a witty quip is not enjoyable subversion.
Complaining about the lack of a quipping quip is not enjoyable discourse.
>Nah, they were quite good.
Compared to the previous seasons? No, they were an objective downgrade. Choppy as frick with quick cuts making choreography hard to see with few exceptions.
>If he delivered a one liner you would have said that was lame.
Only if it was a lame one-liner. There are plenty of good ones he could have given, or not said anything at all. Either option would have shown sincerity to the scene. But the subversion shows how disinterested the writer is in telling an authentic story.
>They picked some really good voices, especially Olrox.
Okay, and? Saying "I like voice" isn't going to carry an entire thread's worth of discussion.
You don't recall the previous fights very well.
Your own commentary about something as meaningless as a one a one liner is proof you can't analyze for beans.
You don't care about discussion, you just want to hate and be a piece of shit. There is no good faith here, you're just an undesirable.
You're the one throwing insults with no actual argument or counterpoints. I was discussing the show free of politics like you wanted. Not my fault you can't handle negative feedback. Try Reddit if you need a safe space.
Bitch, you ain't capable of a discussion. You clearly just want to go full ego on people and talk down to them and say how things should be the way you like them and that's that, genuinely wish you'd get stabbed and go away forever
Cinemaphile's rules just don't hold up in today's climate, internet really changed since its dawn
Just enjoy things that are more widely appealing then.
Reddit is an option.
Cinemaphile cant get over the alucard scene still
Which is hilarious. It's really just a few vocal morons that know nothing about Castlevania or vampires the morons tried to argue against the fact that Dracula has connections to the devil lmfao
>vocal morons that know nothing about Castlevania
Says the gay who defends this trash of a show
The show was figuratively fricking Castlevania the Alucard scene is just a literal representation of it
The show made Castlevania objectively better but okay
yeah Alucard is objectively a better character after getting assraped
What are the drooling morons saying?
That vampires shouldn't have sex and dumb shit like that showing they know jackshit about vampires or Castlevania
@139707770
Shit bait not worth a reply tee bee aych
I miss Sypha
She got a mention.
the freckled redhead Richter meats in town is the cutest girl this show has produced
but of course she's ginger so she has to sit around and watch Richter get BLACKED by annette
Listen, would it really be so bad if "Richter ditched Annette and fricked Vampire Tera?"
Maybe that's how the Vampire Killer is made. "Dicking down a Vampire MILF."
I'd love to see Tera flirting with him and really shattering the motherly image. Maybe threatening to rape him in front of Marie and Annette
>We're going to find out if this womb still works...
>AIslop
I hope all your favorite works are "taken over" by whatever agenda plagues your minds. Every. Single. One.
You deserve it.
>a.i. gay has no morals or principles
I am shocked! SHOCKED!...well not that shocked...
That's not AI, please have a nice day
>Dumb racist incapable of appreciating the hard work of others and can't use his mind to deduce basic truths
I'm shocked! Shocked! Well...not THAT shocked, really...
>projecting and nu u
This is why you'll never get a raise at the shill factory. Apply yourself.
Its fricking trash
>Aztecs and Catholics totally never did gay stuff
lol...
If they're boys it doesn't count!!!
>Clearly a reference to Nosferatu
>turned him into a gay mexican
PLAY THE FRICKING GAMES
I do and I love them, you don't really care about that though since they already turned him into a green slenderman in the games and you think that's okay. Making him an actual dragon which is directly connected to vampires makes more sense.
I do care about the games, not this pile of burning excrement, that is why I'm complaining, Olrox is a reference to nosferatu, not a mexican.
>A green slenderman with a tail is totally respecting Count Orlok
>But an actual dragon which is a symbol of vampires doesn't
You are not a real fan of Castlevania or vampires. You don't get to have an opinion.
You're speaking to that same moron that didn't know Dracula gets his name from satan and his name means Son of the Dragon, the dragon being satan in this instance because that's what the order of saint george was named after
justifying the mistranslated name "olrox" with "well it sounds vaguely aztec i guess" is both ethnically insensitive and shows contempt for the source material
Bullshit on both counts. You have failed.
can you form a coherent argument to back that up or...?
There's no one left to offend since the Spanish genocided the Aztecs
pissing on someone's grave isn't a good look either, especially for a show that's trying to seem nuanced and culturally aware
I think its funny, but that's because Olrox is a nothingburger outside a meme LN. I have more problems with blackwashed Isaac and Annette, especially the latter.
>I do and I love them
name your favorite stage and boss from akumajo dracula x68000, castlevania the adventure rebirth and castlevania 64
What exactly are you trying to say? That all those catholic priests who diddle little boys are actually closeted gay men? Thats pretty bigoted of you
It was good. Better paced than before, cool use of mythologies and game lore, surprise Juste, and Drolta.
Sexy, demon Drolta...
Drolta was amazing
She's actually got no underwear on in this form, they obscure it with her tail/cloth/dress during the fights
drolta was unironically the worst design of this show
LOL
>captcha: JK4H8
Captcha better know the truth here
Any full body shots of her?
>Any full body shots of her?
there was one with cameltoe
This is basically just vampire game of thrones using the name of a famous game franchise.
Literally no one brought that stuff up until you ruined this thread you dumbass
Why
It was enjoyable. I got pretty invested.
Olrox
FYI the dude that made that absolutely loves Nocturne Olrox lol
I like both. Shame Netflixvania is so jank
Olrox
Quetzalcoatl
I live in a time there there are two hot Quetzalcoatl in fiction. Both prey on boys...
Olrox
>people complaining about muh racists
>yet they come here
i'll never understand you people. you hate this place but make threads here all the time.
I don't give a shit, I'll post what I want and call you a stupid c**t anyway.
Skinsuitvania cotninues
Is SHAFT in it?
No
As expected then, but yet disappointing.
no and it has absolutely nothing to do with the game
Frick off to Reddit.
I liked the second half of Episode 6, some of 7 and the end of Episode 8.
Everything else is trash, shit, and gay shit.
I really loved it, ending has me wondering about what's gonna happen next
The Abbot was the best character. I wonder if there's any hope of redemption for him.
People go to hell in this universe for the flimsiest shit. I doubt he gets a happy ending.
>People go to hell in this universe for the flimsiest shit
What example do you have? I hope you don't mean sleeping with Dracula...that shit is literally "laying with the beast"
The fly demon guy that Isaac talks to. He went to hell because the church condemned him when the whole point of Christianity is that only God can condemn or save, not the church itself.
I actually couldn't see coming he was the (actual) father.
Old man Juste should become more prominent. I can see some sort of less comedic Old Joseph Joestar role for him.
Felt very JoJo seeing him, not to mention Julius era takes place in the '90s like DiU.
I just want a Castlevania show that tells a Castlevania story and feels like Castlevania.
At this point, I don't care if you liked it.
You could take a big bite of a piece of dogshit and tell me it tasted good.
You're, quite literally, wrong.
As usual the low IQ people don't like the show. It was Castlevania to its core and it was fantastic.
>None of the characters are remotely like their original writing
>Show is full of random OC's
If I made a Star Wars show and made it about a middle ages irish farmer worried about how many potatoes he's got, but most of the characters look like how they should look and have the right names, would it still be Star Wars?
>None of the characters are remotely like their original writing
Wrong
>Show is full of random OC's
It's almost like having a cast for a story is necessary or something lol
Yes, it worked for Visions and Andor just fine.
Wrong
>It was Castlevania to its core
Elaborate.
The guy hit the monster with a whip
Clearly, this is as Castlevania as it gets.
I would know, I never enjoyed Castlevania before it got a Netflix adaptation.
That requires way too much commitment to background art and animation for action, since it would mostly just be a character exploring on their own and kicking monster ass.
Imagine if someone had the artistic vision to make a show centered around 1, maybe 2 characters. Such a thing simply can't be done.
Thats a lot of fricking arrows, Ugga Bugga and his noble steed should invest in armour, maybe linothorax or gambesons/barding to fit their technological level
>Such a thing simply can't be done.
I mean yeah, you saw how shit Primal got
mega where
I can't imagine be so fricked up a human being that you hang around in a thread for something you hate so you can attack it and people that like it. It's just mind boggling that you think you're something other than evil.
Acting self-righteous on Cinemaphile just to get a dopamine rush is pretty pathetic, my dude.
Basic human decency isn't being self-righteous, you are a completely lost a human being
Throwing shade on the internet is being a decent human bean? They've really lowered the standards.
> It was Castlevania to its core and it was fantastic.
It's pretty obvious this is true to Castlevania and the slaying of monsters, overcoming evil to save what you love...you gotta be really ignorant to think otherwise.
Exactly, but people pretending they played the games for some kind of e-cred that doesn't exist. It's so painfully obviously /misc/ and moronic Cinemaphile denizens doing it too. As if some tards from Cinemaphile know what a good story is, let alone read any books in their lives
You're overplaying your hand
Cinemaphile is always like this, they think dbz has a good story
People that play action games exclusively as a hobby are pretty removed from anything with writing so they aren't really capable of appreciating a structured story. They just want their splosions and when two characters start talking to each other their brains turn off and they get angry
you can't expect them to know if its good or not, it's just not like a video game to them and they can't accept that
Exactly!
It's about simplicity in the genres vs any kind of complexity which arises with stories. They just want the violence and fights.
reminds me of the people that watch dbz and never ever experience dragon ball which is infinitely better than it in every regard
This show is worse than the worst Castlevania game plot wise
Yeah, I really liked Richter becoming the Belmont again. Peculiar how both Sypha and Annette couldn't leave Trevor and Richter respectively after they return to form.
>Maria did everything wrong
Theres a literal slave girl in this show and somehow Maria is the whiny one, she had it better than everyone else, until the finale that is
Maria aside, I really like the rest of the cast, and plot was pretty cool.
There's one uppity frickin commie in this thread just really having a field day because people didn't like Black personvania.
this homie's straight up talkin to himself
Yea, this is getting kinda sad.
I get that this is Cinemaphile and the autism levels are higher here, but this dude is beyond autistic.
This is like Cinemaphile levels of autism.
>Cinemaphile levels of autism
Particularly /dbs/ and /opg/ goddamn.
homosexual lost his mind
I wonder how long until the next season. Really need this hooked up to my veins.
So what's Drac up to? Lisa's been six feet under for a couple centuries by now and considering everyone's scrambling around Bathory I doubt that he went back to being a bad vamp.
Sealed himself away perhaps.
Really want to know as well, curious about what the hell Alucard has been doing too if not sleeping.
Alucard is probably just sleeping
>I napped through a major theological event and apocalypse
That's not an acceptable level of WHOOPS
to be fair he was probably still in Wallachia, it probably took him awhile to get to France once this dhampir senses started going off, even if he turned into mist and rode a high altitude wind stream
Has been centuries, yeah
Gotta wear on you to go out and cull your own "people" all the time
>Managed to be diplomatic successfully
>Establishes vampire commune
>Drinking animal blood
>They start getting uppity and decide they don't want to live there anymore and drink animals
>"Are you sure I can't get you all to reconsider?"
>"No, we want to be the predators that we know we are"
>*Crissaegrim sings its song*
Alternatively
>Commune goes well
>Leaves one day
>Comes back and they've all been burned and staked
Dude probably can't get a win
That's pretty much what happens in the main CV timeline though. Alucard went to sleep until SOTN which takes place in 1796, 7 years into the French revolution.
Nah you're right and I meant bloodlines. I keep getting all the Richter games mixed up.
>Nah you're right and I meant bloodlines. I keep getting all the Richter games mixed up.
but Richter isn't in Bloodlines
She's not actually Egyptian in the show Just drank the blood of a n Egyptian 'goddess'. Reminds me of VtM:B.
Camilla and Isaac also look nothing like their game counterparts. They're basically just using characters as a blank template for their own oc's.
Carmilla doesn't have a consistent design in the first place.
I still love her reaction to Castlevania just teleporting away.
>Spend entire shitty subplot pretending to be some cunning mastermind building up an army against dracula.
>fricking castle disappears into thing air, entire army drowns
I would have laughed if it didn't waste almost the entire season for this.
Book Carmilla was more of a tragidy character with a severe crush for women.
Bathory is more like a female version of Dahmer. She's always been a relentless sadist with phobia of growing old.
I expect netflixvania to continue the series without Dracula and use their own oc's as the new main villains instead.
honestly its a dream job for the creatives in this industry, they always want to inject their own secret sauce donut steel OCs into shit so they can show it off in their reels and portfolios.
*sigh* Bathory isn't in Rondo. Is this a literal netflix producer posting here?
They create a new OC donut steel out their asses to be the new big baddie.
I'd think Drac would at least be a little less like his ending after losing Lisa to natural causes. It's been 300 years.
She was a disembodies spirit, who knows if that means you're flesh when you come back up. It's not how the Night Creatures work
I thought they were straight up reincarnated like a 2nd chance.
That is likely how they're handling it. I'm just throwing stuff out there.
>Want family and friends who don't play videogames to partake of a thing I enjoy
>It doesn't matter because the thing I enjoy's version in a medium they enjoy isn't anything like it
>This is fine because the original audience are chuds anyways so who cares
it's exhausting.
I want to know what happens to Lisa on her second death. Or could she even die? The mechanics of what she was seems unclear.
Why
Olrox
Gayrox
Reminds me of Lestat.
Are they cutting out on AlucardXMaria? People are gonna call him a groomer because he met her when she was a teenger...
Seem to do all the pairings so far.
I'd think they'd just self-insert as Maria, look at all the Alucard/OC fics during the first series.
Maria is a popular self-insert for female Castlevania fans since the original game; they even made a drama CD specifically aimed at them with Alucard admitting to himself he loves her. But he met her when she was 17-18. Western fans might find it controversial that they first met when she was 12.
Really enjoy how they fleshed out the characters and brought them to life again. Next season hopefully has 8 episodes as well.
NTRing Drac
Objective?
SEX and SURVIVE
I 100% expected them to make her lesbian but was pleasantly surprised they had her into young boys. Guessing it was supposed to be about her ill will toward men and if they're young enough they aren't "men" in her mind and it's probably an even further extent of having power over them
I'm confused, when was Bathory Sekmet?
I like Sekmet 's design
She devoured the soul of Sekhmet so she is Sekhmet, according to her own words.
They're using some vampire lore about vampires taking in the souls of people they drink, they even call her the devourer of souls IIRC when Drolta was introducing her. Vampires don't actually want the blood traditionally, they want the soul. Their way of getting the soul is through the medium of the blood, take all of someone's blood and you take in their soul. This conflicts with them being able to drink pig's blood but I guess we could say they want sources of "mana/prana" in this interpretation I suppose.
So, we vampire the masquerade now or something?
Always have been.
Legendary
I hope they do more with the Belmont family legacy. They explicitly made the clan French in the show and this season is set in France.
The DMC threads are gonna be a joy aren't they
You already know what is going to happen. Black Gay Demons.
I'm a huge fan of Enlightment and the French Revolution, I even watched La Marseillaise and read books from the period. In the other hand, I don't like Black folk. Do you think I can like the show?
are you okay with the idea of the show preaching that miscegenation seals away vampire killing holy powers for centuries and curses a divine bloodline?
lol it's literally impossible for you to turn off you racism, huh?
it's literally what happens, I'm guessing you aren't familiar with the series
it's not lol
>Richter curses the Belmont bloodline so bad the Morrises have to take up the whip because Belmonts literally cant use VK anymore
>Morrises do this despite the fact VK drains their life force
>in netflix canon it just so happens Richter's descendants are part African
so what are you talking about again?
The Morris clan are literally Belmonts, you should have stayed in school
what a weird deflection from the matter at hand - Richter's descendants can't use VK
As for the Morrises - they're a distant branch, only true Belmonts can use VK without losing their lives and Richter made that impossible until Julius came back on the scene
You're too ignorant for this discussion, back down
No, you should. You literally don't know what you're talking about. Morrises literally aren't true Belmonts and the games have always acknowledged this - that's why Johnathan using the whip and having to overcome Richter's shadow is even a plot point.
All of that is wrong. /misc/ and Cinemaphile really don't know shit about video games
moron
https://castlevania.fandom.com/wiki/Morris_Clan
It's not exactly surprising.
Weak usage of the wiki, anon. Very weak.
It fails as a substitute to the games, you don't even know why the whip didn't work.
>It fails as a substitute to the games, you don't even know why the whip didn't work.
I've played them all, so why don't you elucidate it? Obviously the reason I'm linking the wiki is because you're being belligerent and need it spelled out - there aren't many other text sources floating around the internet
>I've played them all
Since you lie so boldly I won't even read what you have to say, you're disgusting
classic cowardice on your part, nice
I thought Richter just had them swear not to use it until 1999 to store power or whatever
PoR claims its due to the prophecy of Nostradamus, the Morrises can use it but at the expense of their life. Beyond that nothing is really said in the games. It's just the case that the Belmonts can't use it until 1999.
In Netflix its because they're black and Julius is reasonably diluted.
>Cinemaphile is whining and ignorant again
every thread, the frauds didn't even know Sypha was in Dracula's Curse and was super powerful
Sypha was also member of the church.
Why do you guys have a boner for the church anyway? According to the church, you all are going to hell for masturbation and many more reasons
whether we agree with God or not, He is still righteous and good and the most powerful
literally saved Richter with that item crash too
I hope the series ends with a message of joining the mormons or something
>He is still righteous and good
The Christian god isn't really good though. Actually, he's kind of a dick.
One of the most straightforward examples of this is in the book of Exodus, where he straight up tells Moses that he'll have to plead with the Pharaoh ten times because he himself will make the Pharaoh stubborn ten times over. He doesn't explain to Moses why but anyone that can read can plainly see he did this as an excuse to shower plagues upon Egypt.
>My interpretation is the only one
>I can't even pretend to understand 99th dimensional chess or take into account the people ignoring Gods warnings to his face
It's not an interpretation, God making the pharaoh stubborn is literally what's written in the bible for everyone to go and read.
>My interpretation isn't an interpretation cuz
>read the passage as it is written
>durr its an interpretation
Is this the 99th dimensional chess you're going on about?
>Sausage Cult Leader: We're bowling for sinners today!
>Rocko: You can't chuck bowling balls at us.
>Sausage Cult Leader: Yes, we can. Says so right here in the Book of Bratwurst: "If there be not one among you who doth not follow the way of the Schnitzel, let them go and do not throw bowling balls at them."
>Rocko: Well, then see? It says let us go.
>Sausage Cult Leader: It's a matter of interpretation.
Cinemaphile was ranting about how both Sypha wasn't in castlevania 3 and was a man and a weak character simultaneously you're frauds
>Cinemaphile was ranting about how both Sypha wasn't in castlevania 3
proof?
>and was a man
that was the intention before the ending twist
>and a weak character
because it's true
If you take this seriously or as an homage to Castlevania. You gonna have a bad time.
If you are clever, you can notice the political brainwashing with blacks, how vampires are always wealthy pale and caucasian, the church is bad, gays are good tragic people but lesbians are evil. You can't stop to laugh a little. I know they meant it as if they were doing something serious, but it turned out silly.
Actual Japanese should have been entrusted on this. At least, they would make the fanservice good looking.
This was a great tribute to Castlevania.
I wonder if they'll vamp Annette as well, it's really great seeing Castlevania staying alive.
>All the girls Richter loves get turned one by one
>They're all even sexier
It's over...Richter's end is in sight. You can't blame a man for giving in to that
Truth be told, black vampiress /demoness was hot as hell. Bad she gay,
Hopefully we get a lot fanart of her drinking the cast, would love some with her legs wrapped around them as she feeds
No offense, but I was all for the vampires.
Human Lives Matter is such bullshit.
>they made me WHAT?
Richter's actions 'cursing' his bloodline was merely an attempt to explain continuity in a series that barely had any. I don't expect the show to keep that aspect at all if they do more seasons after Richter.
He sealed the whip so it couldn't be used until 1999, that's why you have to interfere with his magic on it and his will to use it properly before then.
>The Belmont boy turned out to be useless as frick. He literally ran away.
This writing is horrendous, oh my god. Episode 6, 11 minutes in if you don't believe me.
I'm happy that you got so upset over it.
Okay? Here's a (You), homosexual.
The writing is so disastrously cheesy
>Die, monster. You don't belong in this world!
Intro to SOTN, if you don't believe me. Who the frick talks like that?
>he played the dub
OH NO NO NO NO
The Japanese isn't better, in fact its worse as a retread of their tired might is justice I am might therefore justice schtick.
Oh God I hate that I've already seen that in manga...they really do use that a lot don't they?
10 times better than the writing in the show.
Definitely not
The original was basically just Jeremy Blaustein doing his own thing (which is what got him canned from MGS after Kojima got wind of a lot of the changes he'd made) and then the DXC debub that was just trying to refine that. The fan retranslation is largely just 1:1 per the original.

my testosterone shoots up by 300 ng/dL hearing these japanese voices yell at eachother about might and justice
my balls ache its beautiful
>Something childish gives me testosterone
???
was he right?
Jesus is supremely right and so is vampire hunter Jesus
I actually really like this, it's like a flowery Asian version of an old radio serial - I could imagine Cushing and Lee having a similar back and forth.
could you adapt this kind of dialogue to a show like this or would people see it as too overtly japanese?
It's great writing for the kind of genre that Castlevania always strove to be: gothic horror. It's melodramatic and lofty, but elegant in its own way.
The problem isn't it being seen as "too Japanese", it's not appealing to the zoomers, which this show was obviously made for.
Zoomers wants Wheadonisms/MCU quips and gotchas.
How much of this is actually good japanese voice acting and how much of it is "it sounds good because i don't know what they're saying" though? Basically, is it really good work or is it shit japs will laugh at like vid related.
>How much of this is actually good japanese voice acting and how much of it is "it sounds good because i don't know what they're saying" though?
You wouldn't know because you're a dumb monolingual American so it's kida hard to explain it to you
Actually not born nor raised in America even though I am a naturalized citizen and am fully fluent in 3 languages (technically 4 though one is considered a dialect even though it's outright got it's own vocabulary), I just have no knowledge of Japanese.
SotN unironically has better writing than this show. You think I'm watching Nocturne without knowing what SotN is? How the frick old are you? You really think this show won't butcher that scene? It'll be the exact same, for fanservice, except with a bunch of expletives thrown in.
>What is a fricking man? A miserable little pile of secrets!
I was going to say something witty and cutting and brutal before finishing you off. But frick it.
Nah, the great thing about theses shows is they solve the terrible lack of story we get with the games.
That's just not true. Why are your standards so abysmally low?
Your trolling is weak.
Bro, this board is brain damaged. I refuse to believe anyone actually likes this tragedy of a show, and I'm going to choose to instead believe that I am in fact getting horribly baited. No one is this moronic. No one.
You have bad taste and it'd be better for everyone if you just died.
I'm not falling for it.
I wish you'd fall off a building
Nice.
seething
I was going to say something witty and cutting and brutal to finish you off, but frick it.
10/10
The winner, too good
Hi Adi
leave that jive motherfricker Blackula to me
Will he team up with Alucalb?
yes, but only after the reveal. Before that he'll be working with Genya Arikarbo, an infamous ganguro yakuza
Damn revolutionary kid...plotting to overthrow the monarchy...correction is needed
honestly she was instantly put in her place when she saw her husband for the first time
>husband
Sorry but show Alucard has been permanently buck broken since the affair with the japanese duo.
he spent a few years with Grantetta
>Woman in France
>She's been raised in France
>Calls someone a wanker
Come on now. There can be other heroic western people than Anglosaxons, netflix.
>There can be other heroic western people than Anglosaxons, netflix.
>France
>surrender monkeys
>heroic
nope
we still order freedom fries in America btw
It's more that everyone who's a good guy seems to have an english accent Except for the guy who fricks a vampire I guess but frick it, he only joins the good guys near the end while they're not in the UK. Just stood out to me is all.
>we still order freedom fries in America btw
Good for you?
Forgot to say this in the middle of complaining about the wanker thing, but I will say, I did enjoy Richter beating the shit out of the vampires while combining magic and his whip, it was nice to see those fricks start to lose after being smug shits for so much of the season
the hand to hand combos were a highlight imo
the show shines when it actually lets Richter be cool, but unfortunately he's forced to job to put an emphasis on shitty OCs (or characters like Annette that are so radically changed from the source they may as well be OCs)
I can forgive it this season, what with his childhood trauma and all. If he shits the bed again on season 2, though, then frick it.
>Count Orlox obviously based from Nosferatu's Count Orlok
>Boy, I can't wait to see a cool, weirdo, fricked up man bat vampire!
He's meant to be like a rat, hence his goofy teeth and why he brings plague with him.
So why did Olrox let baby Richter live? He knew they were Belmonts and just gave Richter all the motivation he'd want to follow through in the family business.
he's gonna bring back Drac and Richter getting BLACKED is part of the prophecy
But Drac's alive though.
>cis white male effortlessly slaughters big bad egyptian god vampire's lgbt poc girlboss second in command
Netflix is healing
If I had a dime every time Annette threw a weapon and it did nothing and then it boomeranged back just to do nothing again I'd go buy myself some McDonald.
someone just wanted a whole portfolio roll of that bullshit
why can't she rip the iron out of their blood?
She doesn't rip iron, she rips earth and makes weapons out of it. You see as much when they do that pointlessly long scene of her swords turning into dust then flying back into Tera's home to turn into plates when Anette and Edouard are first introduced. Her being able to bend metal bars probably runs on the same logic as Toph's metal bending where they're not manipulating the metal itself but rather the dirt impurities in it.
they made the black character a fricking DIRT mancer? what the FRICK Netflix
No, it's the metal. Warrior god of IRON and WAR
Not who she channels though unless you're saying that Richter and the gang eat out of metal plates and the bridge she made when they crossed to the chateau was made of iron.
Damn, you'd think Netflix money would have resulted in better animation than this.
they spent it all on Wan Piss
Oda mandating that Nami be cute delayed Netflix at least 2 years from bankruptcy and they don't even know it
damn this thread is pathetic, people really trying to defend this crap while claiming everyone who doesn't like it "just didn't play/understand the games" or "is a Cinemaphiletard or /misc/tard racist"
So I'm on episode 2 and this is basically "all white people are evil" the show. Thanks for ruining something else netflix.
No? So far the antagonists are: a priest, a native american aztec, the aristocracy, a black woman and a romanian larping as an egyptian lion.
Actually the villains being all white would make sense considering vampires have been used as an allegory for decadent nobility since Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Are you saying people of color can't be rich? Wow, racist much?
They were unironically but the setting was the French revolution hence it made sense to focus on European nobility.
Bathory was Hungarian, not Romanian.
Reminder that shills do it for free
>Every character was butchered
>Still just generic monsters instead of the variety from the games
>Made the nice nun lady a villain and Maria's mom for some reason
>Richter is sort of a pussy
>Annette is a black girl boss revolutionary of all things
>There is an Aztec vampire for some reason
>NO FRICKING DRACULA
>Maria isn't whimsical and silly
I used to sit around dreaming of a Castlevania anime. I could take them butchering 3 and that mediocre PS2 game but seeing them do this to Rondo hurts.
for all the girlboss shit pumped out this last decade there's a stark lack of actual girlbosses in the world
it just comes off as impotent, but maybe if they keep it up for another 30 years we might get a new girlboss or two in real life
>Maria is constantly calling out priests for diddling boys
It just feels so weird.
>has a problem with 50 year old men with 12 year old boys
>but not a 300 year old vampire with 12 year old herself
rules for thee but not for me
Is she even 12 anymore? I got the impression that they aged her up to her mid-teens.
maybe 15 at best
>There is an Aztec vampire for some reason
Why wouldn't there be?
Honestly, I just don't bother with American adaptations these days.
They just seem to get worse by the year.
I think the last one I even bothered giving a chance was Y: The Last Man, which was fricking terrible, so I just said frick it.
Don't blame Cinemaphile for liking netflix trash.
Its the best they get for cartoons these days.
Cinemaphile is also unironically very lgbt friendly, probably the most lgbt-friendly blue board
It's the most left-leaning of the media boards aside from arguably Cinemaphile
They kind of have to be at this point. Cartoons and comics are probably the gayest media out there at this point. If I watch an American cartoon made post-2015 I am fully expecting at least one major gay character. That is one of the many reasons I barely watch new cartoons anymore.
Your political alignment shouldn't dictate your opinion of a cartoon. I'm left-leaning, and Castlevania is trash.
>trust me, I'm totally a left-wing person and not a Cinemaphile+/misc/ mongrel and I think CV sucks
nta but Nocturne sucks because of shit pacing, rushed character development and exploration of relationships, and as usual for the series questionable scripts with even weirder voice direction
and for some reason, the audio mixing is all over the place
there's a lot of muh wokeism vs anti-wokeism shitflinging going on and that obscures the real issues with the show because not many people are willing to argue in good faith (and even if they are, if no one else is there's no point)
Some issues taking all the attention from other issues doesn't make them not issues too. Just criticize everything
Cinemaphile hates it too for what it's worth
Holy shit you're so mad that someone dislikes your shitty TV show lmao get a fricking grip
Bout to start it, hope there is something like Lenore to fap to.
the cute girls are just one-note side characters in this one
Imagine liking this crap that is just a big spit on the franchise.
Rondo was kino.
Can't wait to see out overlord Adi Shankar ruin DMC now
Vergil was raped by Mundus
Friendly reminder that he did nothing wrong.
Is Bloodstained good?
I wouldn't say it touches the top-tier Igarashi era Castlevania games but it's still very good.
Yes, but it doesn't scratch that itch. Unfortunately nothing does. Castlevania is a unique mix of good gameplay, goofy pop-horror, genuinely good atmosphere and self-seriousness that no one has managed to capture since the series died.
Not so much tonally, but have you played Ender Lilies? That impressed me much more than any other non-Metroid or Castlevania Metroidvania game.
It's sort of like Castlevania by way of Souls and Vanillaware.
ehh it really falls apart at the end imo, and I'd say the two super bosses are the only good ones
I'm disappointed a bit more than others I suppose because I gave IGA $300
I love it, give it a shot anon
All he needed to do was ask and not freeze time like a moron.
Man it's just like the first series...way better than the bare bones of a story we get in the games.
Based. Once again, Cinemaphilentrarians BTFO.
Hello again Adi
Season 2 wait is gonna be a b***h. Really want to see vamp Tera
I'm sorry to hear you suffer from shit taste
I watching the first two chapters and I don't know why they didn't simply make Maria's mom, Anette and have the black girl being an OC.
If you're going to change the character to the point they are just only in name, why bother?
Annette never had a character, Nocturne fixed her.
She was Richter's fiancee and Maria's old sister figure. They could've easily worked within those constrains. Just make nu-annette an OC.
No need.
>Nocturne fixed her.
how?
Actually gave us a person to know, care about and become invested in as opposed to blonde side character love interest trophy-damsel #7
Wait...are women...people?
Only the ugly ones it seems.
Funny because she had purple hair in RoB. Also Yoko isn't a love interest you dumb frick. Plus what makes you think people can't be interest in her even if she is a damsel?
>He doesn't know
And nobody cares about the trophy princess when they are JUST a trophy you ya moron
>And nobody cares about the trophy princess when they are JUST a trophy you ya moron
says who?
Everyone
That doesn't prove anything.
Proved everything to me!
Agreed
Because surprisingly they still follow the Belmont family tree from the games.
>Maria's mom is now black
>offspring between her and the Abbot has 0 things inherited from her mother
Nah that's just fricking dumb.
That's not what I said. The characters remain exactly as they are, except now nuTera is named Annette and nuAnnette is named Tera
You don't have to like the idea, it just made more sense to me and I wanted to share it. In the end, even if they did that, people would still be b***hing about it in different ways.
>It's plenty faithful
Plenty faithful? How? This is one of the most unfaithful adaptations of anything I ever watched, only sharing names and a couple designs tier. I legitimately ask you to explain to me how you find this unfaithful, not even trying to shit on you. I just flat out can't see it.
>how you find this unfaithful
sorry, meant faithful there.
I don't see how it's remotely unfaithful, they made what was there even better
you are mentally ill if you truly believe this to be true
Says the crazy racist.
you are a homosexual that has touched as many CV games as the writers, and will never understand the vision of the original authors because you have Black folk living in your mind and driving your every action at all times
You have the same vibe as child molesters.
There's vile inside of you and you leak it here.
the only vile thing here is normalgays like you, and nothing will ever change that
you ain't a real fan of Castlevania at all
Game took place in Romania, not France.
I genuinely feel like you're just troling.
>no rebuttal or explanation, just mindless cries about anyone not sharing their mentally ill opinion just trolling
good concession
I do accept your concession.
>no u
good post
>It's plenty faithful
How the frick can you think this???
The French Revolution setting was made up
Richter's backstory with Olrox was made up
Olrox, Annette and Tera are completely different characters
Erszebet was ripped from a different game
Edouard and the Abbot are OCs
Minor changes mean nothing, that'd be like complaining that Richter is talking when he shouldn't be saying anything 99% of the time
>minor
what? how are those minor?
also Richter literally talks more than most other CV protags in Rondo and then has lines in SotN, did you even play them?
I don't think YOU played them, holy shit you think having a few more boxes is a world of difference.
he literally has voiced dialogue every level you stupid mongrel
>Entire story is different
>Half the characters are unrecognizable
>"Minor changes"
There was never a story, it was go and kill shit in your way and then you got an ending if you didn't frick it up.
>There was never a story
Evil priest wants to revive Dracula, so he goes around kidnapping Romanian maidens as sacrifice, including the girlfriend of the current Belmont, which was made on a personal level to spite him, to the point Death taunts him in the opening.
Not only this
but later games also retroactively expanded on Rondo's and SotN's stories, just like SotN expanded on CvIII, which was included in the first show. Nocturne doesn't even pretend to be Castlevania.
It's pure Castlevania and you think the little differences matter when they made it even better. By leaps and bounds.
>It's pure Castlevania
you've been saying this the entire thread but have not ever rebutted a single point made by people noting the differences are not little by any stretch of the word
b***h you never had a point
The core parts are there and were preserved and other parts improved upon.
Name your favorite Castlevania
>game
>level
>boss
>song
>character
If you don't answer these then you admit you're not a Castlevania fan.
It's your choice.
>Didn't even list a VA
YOU
ARE
NO
FAN
Thanks for your concession, that's all I needed to hear.
Oh...you really didn't know the VAs huh?
We're done here, if you couldn't tell. Bye homosexual.
Hope you get to experience a home invasion and get murdered you racist fraud
>Blacks commit home invasions
Thankfully I don't live anywhere near them.
Go pretend you play video games elsewhere
>that'd be like complaining that Richter is talking when he shouldn't be saying anything 99% of the time
Way to expose yourself.
>This dude thinks the game is only the parts Richter talks
FRICKING WATCHED SOME CLIPS ON YOUTUBE, I KNEW IT! FRICKING FRAUD
It was obvious
I know it's 1 troll but still, to not even play it and just watch shit on Youtube of it is fricking sad
sadly, that's the kind of people that defend this abomination of an adaptation
No, just the people that can't appreciate it. Nocturne was fantastic
nah lmao
You aren't interested in discussing it at all, I see right through you.
Yeah, that works a lot better. Might have been more confusing at first but it would have made MUCH more sense by the end.
Thanks for the worthless reply.
Thanks for coming to my thread.
You're a deeply disturbed person if you are actually upset about Nocturne.
It's funny that the only people bashing this prove themselves to be weird racists
>People knock Castlevania show
>They're only ever crazy racists that nitpick and can't appreciate a story
Wild
This place is often a shithole. Not a surprise those freaks see it as a refuge
Sexy vampire Tera previews when?
Dragon summoning from Maria when??
Hydro Storm!?
Richter says they're "cousins" in the show
She drank Sekhmet and got her soul. They wanted to make her intimidating so she's an actual god
Were did a russian vampire in late 1700s got the blood of an Egyptian God, pure enough to inherit her powers?
Did you even watch this?
before going to sleep, so All I remember is "I was a priests of Skemwhatever. She god her blood, she became a god, yada yada yada"
My brand dont remember a rational explanation of how it happened.
She was an old and powerful vampire, she either fought and killed Sekhmet or made her vulnerable somehow
>She was an old and powerful vampire, she either fought and killed Sekhmet or made her vulnerable somehow
So unless Dracula being the most powerful Vampire in the world only applied to Wallachia or some how an Egyptian God was alive till 1400s, I dont see how Elizabeth could have been "an old and powerful vampire that killed a god" existed while Dracula existed too.
>Jeun or Jean or whatever grandpa was, was 100% unnecessary for the plot.
it was fanservice meant for the fans and not for you
Just finished it. Thought it was a real fun time and I hope they continue to make good seasons.
Same, hoping we get to see Maria win a big battle by summoning a dragon next season
