I think it's meant to be deliberately ambiguous, but my read was that the two dudes realized they love each other more than they love Zendaya. Whether that love is romantic or brotherly is up to you.
When they took her to the beach she told them how her match with the other girl was like a "relationship" for a brief part of the match where they were truly in tune with each other and she shouted "c'moooon". Then in the end the two guys achieve the same thing and she shouts the same line because she recognizes they finally made that connection and elevated it above mere tennis into something spiritual between the two.
That’s what she felt it was. But they were never serious about it like she was. Art played to please her. Patrick played because he wasn’t good at anything else. Their embrace was a resolve of their own problems. Patrick threw the game for him. Complex dynamic between each characters motives

Sorry I reread your post and I agree. It wasn’t tennis. It was about their relationship. Idk about spiritual tho
Was the game actually won though? All I remember was a deuce and then the pacing crawled out so long I couldn't remember if there was another point or what the score was when he slammed it.
It wasn't deuce, it was a tiebreak, and the score was only 1-0. The match wasn't over on that point no matter what happened. The movie didn't think the result of the match mattered anymore at that point.
That's what I thought, I think Zendaya said it was 15 minutes of her game or something where the relationship happened, so we were just seeing the start of that happening at the end and they were going to keep playing the best 15 minutes of their life after the hug.
Artistically it was amazing 10/10, every shot was fricking stupid, random slomo fricking everywhere, cute monkey e-girl
But Zendaya is fricking ugly, why the frick do these israelites keep trying to push her as someone anyone would ever be sexually interested in?
But ultimately this "movie" is nothing but an advertisement for smoking paid for by RJ Reynolds. Evil israeli filth.
Guadagnino looks like an old Italian homosexual pervert but he has the brain of a 19 year old girl who uses Twitter. Tailor-makes movies for that crowd. A shame his great talent is wasted on completely juvenile storytelling
Bones and All was a commercial flop, even though it starred Timothee Chalamet. He was the one who probably introduced her to Zendaya since he's worked with Luca twice already. You gotta admit Luca made the source material way more kino than it deserved, the idea to have Trent and Atticus make a techno music type score alone was inspired. And the movie was shot on actual 35mm film stock too.
I agree with that ranking, and I didn't even know Bones and All existed until after I saw Challengers at the cinema. It somehow went completely under my radar, but I might have written it off as some kind of chick-flick had I only seen the poster.
Yeah but in a way it seems that "reveal" backfired since most people were expect a chick flick starring Timmy. The bad word of mouth was probably hurt its box-office.
I put a lot of weight on a film’s quality on its ending and Luca nails it every time. B&A is the literal perfect ending
It was very good. And Mark Rylance was excellent as the "villain" even though he just seemed like a lonely guy.
>You gotta admit Luca made the source material wa
Challengers original script didn't have any gay shit until luca so there is that. I agree with trent and atticus
>Why would Guadagnino do Zendaya vanity project?
Because nobody watches his shit but Zendaya "zoomer queen" choose him for her vanity project but her crowd don't watch movies and she is not a draw without a franchise which is why challengers is flopping. I hope that italian gay is embarrased
I know it's cliche to say movies will studied in film class, but this actually will. That scene where Tashi and Patrick get into a fight in her dorm room is fricking masterful. It's refreshing to see actual art in filmmaking.
It actually got kinda meh at the end with constant 60 second slo mo scenes of sweaty men staring at Zendaya with electronic music playing. It was pretty good overall though.
Maximalist filmmaking is really the only thing that makes an impression on young people. Spider-Verse, Everything Everywhere All at Once, La La Land, Barbie, now this. The future of cinema is ADHD-core movies. It's the only method of filmmaking that can keep theaters alive
Zendaya once again ruining what could have been a great movie. A more nuanced actress would have so good with fricking amazing actors like Faist and O'Connor. But Zendaya simply cannot play anything but herself, it's so annoying.
No way this movie would have had a $55 million dollar budget with Taylor Russel and the two other guys who are basically no-name actors themselves. Zendaya was probably the one to pick Luca to direct since Timothee Chalamet put in a good word for him to get the gig.
>Camel >Taco Bell >Applebee's
I know there's more I don't remember. It's real distracting, almost as distracting as Zendaya's ugly face
You don't drink Gatorade with meals, anon?
At least Gatorade/tennis rackets make sense in a sport movie. A character prominently displaying his pack of Camels just shows who paid for this "movie" to exist
IDK, I thought she sold Tashi's confidence and intensity pretty well. Which scenes did you think she whiffed?
>she's the hottest chick I've ever seen >this ugly b***h walks out
Any scene we're meant to believe she is an attractive woman
Why is no one talking about the extreme product placement in this shit
The dunkin donuts one was the only one i noticed and it was egregious. When Pat’s signing up for the challenger and he’s hungry, there’s a literal single shot of the black lady’s sandwich and cofffe
I wasn't convinced by the ending. Zendaya seemed like a shell of a person unable to be happy ever again, but one shot of Art actually enjoying Tennis again is able to undo all that.
Don't worry lucabros, he's back to doing pederastkino. >Queer is an upcoming historical romantic drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by Justin Kuritzkes, based on the 1985 novel of the same name by William S. Burroughs. Set in 1940s Mexico City, the film follows an outcast American expat (Daniel Craig) who becomes infatuated with a younger man (Drew Starkey).
He looks like a young Howard Stern and yet I keep seeing ~~*articles*~~ about how hot he is. The only purpose of media is to spread corporate/political propoganda.
But in the movie he isn't really depicted as a Chad at all, even though he is a world-famous tennis player and knocked-up Zendaya's character. The main thrust of the movie is that she convinces him to enter a "challenger" to get his confidence back after a string of defeats. And at the end of the movie he begs Zendaya's character not to leave him. I can see why Luca would have cast him in the role. The guy is a good actor.
I love seeing movies get strong authentic word of mouth responses like this, I'll check it out sometime. This movie was a meme because of the threesome trailer but now people have responded well it for some reason.
Nobody on this website actually watches movies.
Just nude scenes. Of hot sweaty men, your type, OP. :p
>movies
This is just a some shitty fanfiction sex fantasy for women
Can someone explain the ending

15 seconds
Art won. The final volley was game point, Art was focused on slamming it, Patrick was focused on Art. I think Patrick loved him and Art loved Tashi
wrong.
I just looked it up and yeah, I don’t understand tennis scoring. But will Patrick let him win? I guess that’s not the point?
Art rekindled his love of tennis and by proxy his love with Pat and Zendaya's love for Art.
But what was Patrick’s redemption arc?
Bros before hos
chile, Black folk
Truly peak of modern cinema
Which is not a good thing
I like the scene where the boys were eating churros gayly.
Artistically it was amazing 10/10, every shot was fricking stupid, random slomo fricking everywhere, cute monkey e-girl
But Zendaya is fricking ugly, why the frick do these israelites keep trying to push her as someone anyone would ever be sexually interested in?

>mf whenever a ball was hit at the camera
So who is the potion seller, and who is the knight?
Artchads stay winning
Why would Guadagnino do Zendaya vanity project?
Guadagnino looks like an old Italian homosexual pervert but he has the brain of a 19 year old girl who uses Twitter. Tailor-makes movies for that crowd. A shame his great talent is wasted on completely juvenile storytelling

>And the movie was shot on actual 35mm film stock too
Weird, it didn't stand out to me. I think my theater still has shitty 2K projects though.
Bones and All is his best imo. B&A > Challengers > CMBYN > Suspiria
I agree with that ranking, and I didn't even know Bones and All existed until after I saw Challengers at the cinema. It somehow went completely under my radar, but I might have written it off as some kind of chick-flick had I only seen the poster.
Saw it on Amazon Prime. No where in the description did it mention that it was about cannibals so that was a nice surprise.
Yeah but in a way it seems that "reveal" backfired since most people were expect a chick flick starring Timmy. The bad word of mouth was probably hurt its box-office.

Soundtrack was great, I didn't realize it was Reznor until the credits.
I know it's cliche to say movies will studied in film class, but this actually will. That scene where Tashi and Patrick get into a fight in her dorm room is fricking masterful. It's refreshing to see actual art in filmmaking.
Some parts were so high energy it felt like a sports anime.
>Zendaya's hideous face is the image that will sell this movie
HAHAHAHAHAHA
It actually got kinda meh at the end with constant 60 second slo mo scenes of sweaty men staring at Zendaya with electronic music playing. It was pretty good overall though.

What was maximalist about this film? It's not even close to being as frenetic as Spider Man or EEAAO.
It's fun and dynamically made, much more so than most other slop in theaters
Zendaya once again ruining what could have been a great movie. A more nuanced actress would have so good with fricking amazing actors like Faist and O'Connor. But Zendaya simply cannot play anything but herself, it's so annoying.
I agree, but I'm not sure whom I would have cast instead. Maybe Emma Roberts or Olivia Cooke.
Taylor Russell who already worked with Guadagnino would have been perfect.
No way this movie would have had a $55 million dollar budget with Taylor Russel and the two other guys who are basically no-name actors themselves. Zendaya was probably the one to pick Luca to direct since Timothee Chalamet put in a good word for him to get the gig.

she’s hot if you aren’t racist to be fair
ATP = Art Patrick Tashi
bro slapped his bro in the wiener bros what the hell
Absolute kino
?t=125
>le perfect soundtracks every damn time boomer
>cover up her eyes
>make her fat ugly nose the focus of the picture
JFC LMAO
I wasn't convinced by the ending. Zendaya seemed like a shell of a person unable to be happy ever again, but one shot of Art actually enjoying Tennis again is able to undo all that.
Potion seller mogged his wife's shitty movie.
Don't worry lucabros, he's back to doing pederastkino.

Didn't Daniel Craig go on the record a year or two ago to say he almost exclusively goes to gay bars and clubs to avoid getting into fights?
This total dweeb is now getting typecast as gigachad, never give up hope.
what the hell is wrong with his eyes??
He looks like a young Howard Stern and yet I keep seeing ~~*articles*~~ about how hot he is. The only purpose of media is to spread corporate/political propoganda.
kys homosexual
Refute what I wrote, Chaim.
But in the movie he isn't really depicted as a Chad at all, even though he is a world-famous tennis player and knocked-up Zendaya's character. He's good but I was actually more impressed with the other guy, especially in the final sequence.
Yeah the other guy was good too. They both mogged Zendaya who just seems to be herself in every role.
She's the go-to "black girl with a chip on her shoulder".
Nah she was pretty solid. Glad I don't have ZDS and can enjoy some of the better movies this year.
>market it as spitroasting
>actually full of male nudity DICKS not breasts
So tiresome
