I started with bodyweight chin ups, dips, push ups, rows, squats, and planks. Worked up to 3 sets of 8 each, then I added a 20 pound belt and worked up to 3 sets of 8 each, then I dropped the 20 pound belt and added a 50 pound vest and worked my way up to 3 sets of 8 each, then I added the 20 pound belt back and worked my way up to 3 sets of 8 each.

If you do these exercises with 70 pounds strapped to your body, you will get strong. You won't look like a gym rat, but you will definitely have muscle mass and look great.

It took me 18 months to do this working out 2 to 4 times per week

Good. Now move out of your mom's house. You're a grown man.

What vest do you use? The one I got was so uncomfortable and would dig into my shoulder where the straps were very hard and would basically injure me, so i stopped using it. It had padding but that didn't help much.

    Black person look up calisthenics
mfs are more buffed than you who been in gym for 10 years

more like they did 10 years of calisthenics to get the results of 2 months of weight lifting

Nothing beats lifting at the gym, but you’re exaggerating the discrepancy here. You can get big with calisthenics by doing super high volume, won’t get as strong though

          "wont get as strong"
This is literally most moronic thing I've ever heard in my life. Every weight you lift in gym is non practical in daily life. Not to mention it makes you dull slow and moronic.
While Calisthenics give you REAL practical strength/stretch for fighting, climbing etc...

Black, please. If you can bench 3 plates, deadlift 5 plates, etc. you will be able to move any piece of furniture, pick up anything, or lift yourself into a space in every conceivable orientation.

I used to grab my fat friends around their calves, and stand upright so their heads would go through drop ceiling tiles. You will also be able to do chin-ups with women hanging onto your waist.

When I get mad, I just black out. I can punch through a steel door and not even feel it.

not that anon but why are so many gymgays awful at calisthenics if that's the case? some can't even do a single pull up

Working your lats is gay, that’s why.
                >some can’t
We both know that’s a very low “some”.

Which a lot of guys won’t say is why they’re in the gym. Most idiots just want to do curls and bench.
I didn’t say I agree with the thought process, but back will be ignored by many people because “who cares?”-type logic. Same thought likely applies to stretching, too.

It's not like selecting the strength tree in a video there anon. But you're probably right and all these athletes and trainers have probably been wrong about lifting weights, they should probably stop so they start moving faster

Depends on how far you go with it. A professional bodybuilder is definitely slow.

Why do people get asshurt over the way others choose to exercise. Do something a few times per week and you’ll be better off than 80% of people

Frick it gymnasts thrive on body weight exercises and they’re by far the most impressive well rounded athletes there are. Lifting weights and especially incorporating extra weight to body weight exercises is great, but do not disregard body weight workouts.

Pull-ups are literally one of the best and most effective exercises you can do for your back and your body, if you aren’t doing sets of pull-ups on the reg you’re not doing it right.
