Did the show do a 30 years later ep that we msised? Jackie dated Marco and saw it wasn't going to work out. Nothing says random chick #342234 was her blood mate. Jackie is the opposite of what OP is saying due to at least dating a guy at one point.

          Anonymous

NTA but from what I have experienced the hostility comes from a few things depending on the side.

From the Gay side its that the entire community (outside of upper class gay guys), for all their talk of being welcoming and accepting in basically in permanent Siege Mentality and therefore believe that any action that is not dedicated to the cause of LGBTQ+ rights or any media that is not reinforcing a sense of validity they apparently lack internally is an explicit attack.
So when they see someone who could for all intents and purposes be Gay and yet chooses not to, they view it as a direct threat to their validity as people.
The other is simply resentment for Bi people being able to "pass" as straight and so don't deserve a spot in the community. The same way otherwise educated black people consider a mixed person to be black or not depending on if the cops profile them and if they are a part of "the culture".

Straight people see being bi as either an immaturity to be overcome and therefore a failure to grow up out of an implied hedonistic lifestyle.
Or as basically being gay which can be seen as gross.

I don't think this has been studied, but to be fair I can imagine that, assuming no preference, bisexual people ending up with someone of the same sex is probably more likely, if only because people usually interact more with their own sex.
I do agree that bisexual people ending up in a straight relationship should be more visible in media though. At the end of the day, if you only ever show same sex couples you literally don't have bisexual characters, and bisexual people exist too.

Most of the time they want to frick both genders but reproductive biological urges and social convenience win out when it comes to settling.
Also for many Bi people its a matter of only liking 10% or less of the same gender from a physical standpoint i.e otherwise straight guys wanting to frick femboys because they are feminine enough to get them horny.

I had sex with a guy (I'm a guy) and tried dating so I guess I'm bi but the reality is I only find any romantic attachment in women. I'd say I find like 10% of guys attractive at best, and trying to be with another dude is awkward and feels more than a little unnatural.

None of my friends or family know about this and I can't say I ever plan on being with another guy again. Haven't dated or fooled around with any other guys since and honestly it turns me off now.

Forgot to mention - I've dated three bi women who had no idea I even slightly considered myself bi. Feels like with women I know more of them who have been in longer relationships with women. Maybe it's social stigma but I know many less bi guys who maintained a same-sex relationship.

Possibly, I typically hear when it comes to bi people getting in relationships. They often face stigma by either sex, being seen simply as gay or straight. Or that it's "just a phase". I never been with anyone of either sex. But from the general sentiment, it seems like its a hassle thanks to those preconceived notions.

I knew this was going to happen when I saw it. When I remember the early episode where Luz was thirsting over that one guy but didn't end up with him, I expected them to push for a wlw relationship in later seasons.

I mean, what do you want? She is in a cartoon for children and she wants going to go under any other romantic sub plot. Being bisexual is like this also in real life: unless you are literally dating two people of different sexes at the same time, there's not practical difference between being gay or straight at face value.
Hunter, Willow, and Eda are way worse examples of what OP means, because they are stated to be bisexual and yet there is zero indication that they have same sex attraction.

    All of them.

There are two types of bisexual character
    - We wanted to make this previously completely straight character gay for brownie points, but they already dated an character of the opposite sex , so we're making them bisexual. They will no longer show interest in the opposite sex.
    - We want to get more brownie points for having more than just gay people, so we'll call this character bisexual but they are really just gay.

In the end, it's all shades of homosexual. But you can notice that once a female character shows interest in women, they will never be allowed to go back.
