Even if that's the bare minimum I liked how they treated him in the season finale, nobody seems to hate him anymore, and he has new friends.
Yeah, the new season gave him a bit too much shit but he's not really the pariah anymore at the end. Joan is.
I still miss when he at least had Gandhi as a friend though.
So is season 2 completely irredeemable or is there some good stuff?
From what I've seen, the consensus is that the first six episodes are bad, and the last four are better, but still not as good as S1.
It's not unwatchable but it really does feel like in certain parts that the new writers didn't get the show was meant to be a parody of teen drama's and is now just...a regular teen drama.
The original season is a time capsule in that regard because the specific style of series it was emulating isn't really a thing anymore. And there are only so many types of generic "Very special episode" to make a joke about.
If you're not gonna keep the spirit of the show alive then why bother rebooting it? At that point it's not Clone High anymore.
I've seen a bit here and there and Topher Bus is like the closest thing this show still has to parodying teenage bs.
Other than him though, there's not much else.
I liked Candine, at least when Scudworth wasn't simping over her.
That whole white guy confidence and save the grassy knoll bits was the worst excuse of hack writing I’ve seen in a while. I don’t even want to continue the series after that.
>Using Abe as an example of White Guy confidence when he's nothing but awkward and unconfident
>Meanwhile JFK literally embodies the cliche since his confidence is based entirely off the delusions that his clone father was an uber chad who conquered the moon
Also Cleo is fricking WHITE
Literally this. It baffles how much “fans” don’t even know their own damn show.
It's ok to admit that Cleo is brown, anon, it's just that her new VA sucks.
But she was Greek and the time they were white. Also it could be a tan.
I was talking about the animated Cleo instead of the real one. It seems she had a minor Iranian descent, so they chose an Iranian woman to voice her.
>it seems she
It seems she was just brown to make semi more recognizable. Plus casting based on race is peak American moronation.
I don't recall anyone but the showrunner talking about white people voicing POC. The worst part is this means Gandhi would not be voiced by Michael McDonald if he came back.
I'll never accept it because I'm too amused by the idea that she's a Kardashianized White Girl
JFK was more interesting and had a funnier personality than Abe
He was gimmick character taken serious, don’t kid yourself.
he was funnier than abe and that's all that matters since this is a comedy
Too bad writers of this slop didn’t get the joke. It seems neither do you.
He’s funny in short bursts but after while it’s just annoying.
the concept of "white guy confidence" is ridiculous to me as someone who deals with ignorant people on a regular basis
I'm not gonna lie, I still chuckled when Cleo walked in trying to emulate white-guy confidence and just flatly says, "GOLF."
But yeah, the joke doesn't really serve the characters when Abe was consistently the least confident person in the series while Cleo was nothing but confidence.
I might have missed that as I was still in utter disbelief from that scene
Many such cases
Mr. B is still my favorite.
I can't believe they killed off toots
Man IM STILL PISSEDD
That should have been a sign to stop watching. Why didn’t I stop?
They got rid of all the parents in season 2, it sucks. The parents were a huge part of the comedy of the original, JFK's gay dads were fricking great.
They just had Candine as the catch all parent, who's fine as an individual character, but absolutely could not carry this show for how hard she was pushed.
one of jfk's gay dads showed up but it's not clear whether he is alive or not, only "parent" of one of the original clones that showed up in person was cleo's stepdad who is a completely new character
>Phill addimited in interviews that the new writing team they were assigned openly hated the original show
Ok... No executive saw this as a issue apparently? This is how cartoons are made now? "Hey you! Guy who hates Thundercats! Go make me a new Thundercats show!"
You can't assigned all the nepo babies to projects they want to work in
>the new writing team they were assigned openly hated the original show
Really? The only thing I could find is that a lot of the young writers hate Abe, and the showrunner regrets a few things she did in S1.
Ah, so they pulled a 343 industries
>people took Memes too seriously
>people
People?
Which people anon.
You know who. It's the writers.
I won't watch revivial until they bring back Ghandi. How did they ruined Abe?
Same. I cannot, cannot, absolutely cannot get over Ghandi. I've even warmed up to the Gary Coleman route. He just needs to fricking be there.
He'd just be ruined if they brought him back, just like they ruined the rest of the cast. It's not worth it.
