>is a superhuman killing machine proficient in almost all forms of combat and practically has foresight in the field of battle
how accurate is this? am I really just walking past casual unbeatable murder machines at my local warehouse? can that 30 something guy working the sausage stand at costco clear out a whole building alone? I don't wanna ask him it sounds like a stupid question

    >>is a superhuman killing machine
Some of them are, yes. Think of a pro-fighter with the shooting skills of a LGM shooter. Some of those guys can shoot you in the eye from 600 meters or choke you to death with their own hands.

Most soldiers just seem to frick around and pull pranks on each other for a few years. They never actually kill anyone.

it's accurate unless they come out of the service with completely fricked backs and knees like most vets do

I think that's the point of the training. Why would you want a bunch of ex-military to pose a threat to your regime? Making the training hard enough to injure them permanently is the sustainable choice.

if you live in a country without conscription it could be maybe, other than that it is bullshit.

You mostly just frick around however you will get exposed to alot of crazy shit most people wouldn't ordinarily experience and get fit. People have no idea what happens in the military so its very easy to milk for benefits.

Man I knew said they used to put poo in the water tanks. You know, like as a lark. That's my mental image of what the military is.

all Western militaries have been slamming that mfkin Slacken Recruitment Standards button the past few years

No that’s literally just the US cos they need millions of black women and manlet hispanics to serve israel and fight for gay pride parades in Taiwan. European standards have always been pretty strict because they can always choose the best soldiers because their armies are small. The US very famously takes everyone with a pulse

It depends. Tiny European armies that have zero intention of seriously participating in any kind of conflict in their near future are picky about recruitment. The bigger ones like Britain and France will take basically anyone that is not hopelessly unfit for service because recruitment and retention are a more significant bottleneck than their budgets. Not to even mention the lunacy going on with Russian and Ukrainian conscription.

Lol multiple Euro countries have mandatory service, not to mention frogs and their foreign legion of random Arabs and Asians from dubious origins

The foreign legion is probably the only army in the world that turns away more people than it recruits 10:1

my favorite variation of this trope is when they say he was "dishonorably discharged" with only the implication that he was too spicy for the military or something.

if they were some sort of special forces, i'd believe it.
If they were just some grunt? Probably just decent athletics/strength and OK shooting skills. Unlikely to have great combat sense.

The thing is, military is like any other job. If you walk into a random warehouse or office 50% of the dudes are gonna be dumb and fat. Any military is exactly the same, you get roughly the same mix of morons/fats as the civilian population. Lets take infantry for example, doctrine depending on country/branch etc. Boils down to fight the enemy and they do that in different ways that mostly rely on team tactics and having a leader. Sf guys might have a much better chance pulling shit off because theyre gonna be a lot smarter but this shit is still nearly impossible because at the end of the day theyre still just humans.
Even the best special forces in the world know that if they breach a room and the occupants are expecting them, the point man is almost guaranteed to be killed or go down.
Marcus luttrell and his team got gun downed by maybe a little over a dozen taliban fighters with machine guns and some experience
Chris kyle (his lies and shit dont matter he was still pretty good with a gun and trained operator) turned his back on a man with a loaded gun that had been acting suspicious
That green beret ambush where they all got killed

It can happen but its not exactly like the movies. The lone sas operator in nairobi killed 4 if im not mistaken but that was over hours and he was prepared experienced and somewhat supported by local authorities and he was able to take his time.

My point is its extremely rare and when it does happen its by very skilled operators like former sf who are also very smart

The only zogbot I’ve met that personally scared me is a coworker who was a Marine sniper and absolutely killed a bunch of people.
All the other veterans I know range from average guys to complete morons. Most vets are only exceptionally proficient at killing themselves.
