It sure does. That movie came out in 1990 but was set in the '80s, when public gayness was discouraged and trannies and crossdressers were reviled. They were often treated by shrinks as having some mental disorder, rather than being encouraged and celebrated like they are today.
And that actress wasn't even that big. She was size 14 in the movie, but really was a size 10 or 12. I had an ex girlfriend that was bigger and she was a size 12.

And beside just leaving their for the father to be further emotionally scarred, they are valuable evidence that might have finger prints or DNA on them that could be analyzed years later.
