they should do this: cuddy gets sick and goes back to the hospital looking to find house. she doesn't believe he's dead. you see the workings of chase running his department but their mystery isn't the focus of the show. at some point it comes out that foreman not only knows he's alive, but knows where he is as they've talked here and there over the years. house is working at a clinic in some spanish country and has a young spanish wife and they have 2 kids. he is happy. he eventually comes back to save cuddy etc etc etccpjp

And I think the way a House that doesn't really have all that much to look forward to does that is by poisoning himself. Not suicide per se because he thinks Chase and Kids will catch on by act 5 but legitimately he's dosed himself with something that will kill him minus intervention, which mimics some other diseases. That and House would be fricking with them by doing things like lying on his history and that bullshit history he's giving would be fun for the audience trying to figure out what has House actually been up to the last 20 years, same as it would be neat for the recurring characters in narrative.
