>cheap and unfinished animation that looks worse than Wish's
>uses a non-human creature as a metaphor for discrimination in a way that's less applicable to real life than Zootopia or Elemental
>titular character is yet another goofy hyperactive girl
>plot and themes we've seen in so many other animated films
>boring forgettable villain
>climax is taken directly from The Iron Giant
>fakeout death that's revealed in the most abrupt and last-minute way possible
This feels like the kind of movie social media critics SHOULD hate, and yet everyone considers it a groundbreaking masterpiece and I don't know why.
I bet if it were a Disney film, everyone would be hating on it like they did with Elemental and Wish.
shoes on or does she not have shoes on. For some reason I remember seeing her and thinking she was not wearing shoes and then I was watching it again and she was wearing Little Boots so I don't know does she have shoes on or toes exposed I'm so confused
i would be interested in this if the main character wasn't gay
huh? it's considered a groundbreaking masterpiece? where?
I didn't like the movie but it undeniably is well done in a technical sense.
Is Nimona a self insert?
She might be retroactively. A lot of trans creators claim their pre-trans media was always (secretly) intended to be trans allegories
Considering how low the bar is for a "trans allegory" it's hard to really disprove, though I find it often quite suspect and sometimes the people in question are reaching pretty damn hard
So how is Matrix a trans allegory?
I dunno, but apparently it is?
The only thing I can think of is that it legitimizes trans people in that all trans people would have a Matrix avatar which is the wrong sex and that's why they feel dysphoria
Doesn't explain how stupid the machines would have to be to get sex wrong, but whatever
>Doesn't explain how stupid the machines are
The machines are using Humans as batteries which is beyond inefficient especially when you consider there are other animals far more efficient for this purpose... oh and the fact they could just use geothermal power like the humans of Zion do.
The world (body) you live in isn't real.
Guy discovers that he's living a lie, so he transitions into his platonic real self, rather than continue to live that lie. Doesn't Morpheus even say something about feeling like there's something off about the world? Then offers Neo a transition pill. And the system hates that and tries to make everyone conform according to the program.
In retrospect, the movie is very trans. The movie's packed with a lot of symbolism I can spend paragraphs unpacking.
>I can spend paragraphs unpacking.
Do it.
Is it wrong that I'm anticipating of Noelle's suicided attempt?
There's also Switch who was supposed to be a dude outside the Matrix but the studio vetoed it.
>but the studio vetoed it
Why did they do that?
What
said on top of Mr. Smith deadnaming Neo.
KEK DEADNAME? NEO DIDNT EVEN KNOW THAT WAS HSI NAME FOR HALF THE FILM
and unfinished animation that looks worse than Wish's
Is spiderverse giving us worse looking films? Wish tried to do something like spiderverse with stylized animation but it looks like ass. Nimona looks like ass too but gets praised.
It's cause a lot of people want to prove they were always "trans" and that there were signs so it doesn't look like they just randomly decided to be a troony. So they grasp at anything.
Can't wait for all the detransitions in the next 10 years lol.
>Nimona looks like ass too but gets praised.
The movie was 95% done and it was literally the last movie SkyBlue released (technically). There's definitly a style and subtle humor in the movie. but it's more "It's a miracle this movie actually released" that makes people forgive that fact
It's not trying to be spiderverse, if anything this just looks like slightly higher budget slugterra
The creator comes across as having BPD, so yes.
OP is so upset that Disney is failing that he has to make up shit nobody has said to justify crying over this movie.
Why there isn't porn of her?
post moar webms plz
>This feels like the kind of movie social media critics SHOULD hate, and yet everyone considers it a groundbreaking masterpiece and I don't know why.
Because it’s diverse and LGBT+, that’s why.
Disney canceled it for a good reason but Disney bad so now people are pretending that the movie was good. Furthermore, the fact it’s aggressively LGBT only adds to the narrative that Disney bad for canceling it.
Disney was justified in canceling this. It got fewer views than the Miraculous movie despite Nimona being available in more than twice as many countries. Late-era Blue Sky movies were carrying $100 million+ budgets. This shit would've flopped.
I'm glad the narrative that this would've done well in the box office has died down. Netflix really is the perfect home for it - hell I bet a lot of Stevenson fans already have it for She-Ra - and yet it maxed out at what... 7 million views? The Adam Sandler lizard movie got 34 million in it's first week. This would've been another Disney bomb if they kept it and released it.
That's literally a 1,000 yo dragón girl and You still complainin'?
You forgot to add
>turns race swaps white guy for no reason
The only reason people are hyping this is up is because Disney canned it. They want to prop this up as a success to give Disney the middle finger. There are also gays in it which is a plus to critics.
Disney eating shit over a project they passed on in a year where they've released multiple turd flops is just gravy. I wish WB could do likewise.
At least you get to watch it at home without having to pay expensive cinema tickets
