>Millennials go nuts and laugh hysterically because it's le hecking smart writing.
When did this phenomena started ?
I know it got popularized by Rick and Morty but what was the origin point of it ?

Tiny Toons/Animaniacs
This
It wasn't noticable or a Big deal back then but when the reboot tried to do it again all the cracks were clear to see.
At least Tiny Toons/Animaniacs were funny and did meta humor well. And the originals didn't do meta humor ONLY.
>Gen X go nuts and laugh hysterically because it's le hecking smart writing.
Gen X ers were the college students watching it. Millennials were the actual audience targeted.
>Gen X ers were the college students watching it
The older ones, at least
Fourth Wall Breakers like Deadpool and Squirrel Girl, and before that. Pantomime.
Gwen poll introduction issue was really good and great but she just Speedrun her comics career in a matter of few years that I can't even bother to read any of her shit anymore
While Deadpool, he's a Dead horse 6 feet under that only people who like him anymore are the MCU gays who want their edgy humor and Ryan Ronald movie
gumball's funny and nothing you do will change that
The amazing world of gumball is a funny show I'll give you that but most of their best moments wern't the "hehe look at this reference" or the old "high dear viewer we know you're there and we can break the forth wall isn't this crazy"
In conclusion the 2 first seasons of gumball were the peak of the series.
>In conclusion the 2 first seasons of gumball were the peak of the series.
OP just ignored the 4 other seasons being way better than s1 & s2 by having more eps that don't focus funny reference or meta humor even then most of it is actually funny and creative.
In conclusion OP is a straight up nostalgiatard
>uses a gumball pic when you're actually describing chowder
many such cases
op z
Sorry for the mistake,I just had the Sara Pic already so I just choose it as a representation for millennial fans and I wasn't attacking gumball directly I was talking about cartoons in general
funniest possible reaction
Tiny toons as kids billy and Mandy as teens Rick and morty as adults
>as kids
the '80s ones, right?
Chuck Jones cartoons.
You do realized that Gumball has eps that don't focus on meta humor and shit?
examples are: the shell, the father, the choices, the possession, the origins 1&2, and the parents.
Hell I think some meta eps are actually good till day examples are: the copycats, the console, the best, and the shippening.
OP stop making Gumball as Rick & Morty or family guy its getting tiresome of how people shit on Tawog but don't even watch all the seasons of the show instead you gays just pick the worst eps in each season and call that season shit when ignoring the actually good eps in those seasons.
Hi op again I think you didn't understand my post correctly anon here you go
Oh ok but people are gonna mistake this as another average Cinemaphile shitting on gumball for moronic reasons
My argument for your take on tawog.
Gumball's desperate attempts to create memes and get internet popular is exactly what got me to stop watching it
Anon... there are eps that don't even do internet funny meme type of shit in the later seasons and those eps are half of the seasons batch of eps.
it was actually community that popularized meta humor but rick and morty is also a dan harmon show so youre not completely wrong
