Just fricking read Poetics by Aristotle. That's all you need to know. Every single "artist" seething over AI output shouldn't be considered an artist. They don't even know their history, neither the very basics of philosophy of art.
Wasn't there some AI painting that won an art copetition, it's pretty good, but the fact that it is not fully realised yet is what really activates the almonds
so glad that happened, especially seeing as it's early AI and shows that artist critics are literally just swayed by pretty images, not actual artwork.
When I worked in a cubicle, a coworker who was walking by noticed the wallpaper on my monitor and commented that it looked really great. I mentioned the site I downloaded it from and he flipped out because it had HDR in its name and apparently to him HDR is some kind of evil sin. I just thought it was a nice image of a barn in a field. Turned out he was in charge of the company photography competition so when he wrote the rules, the very first one was 'NO HDR!!!!' Guess every hobby has its share of autists.
This is very interesting like some of the least known Beksiński's unnamed art.
You can tell what everything is supposed to be and your mind automatically fills in the blanks but if you actually stop to look at it for a while, the details, it is all non-sense.
Can someone please explain how the frick this won an art competition? Literally just looks like it could have come from the DUNE story board or some shit
I'm guessing they hyper-focused on the cloth of the dresses and how realistic it looked, as well as the general sense of scope, perspective, proportion, and having created a fairly original image that seems to set the stage for an entire world in one scene. They never bothered to ask "what is this an image of?" because they didn't want to look like they "didn't get it", because they are professional art critics after all, and to them, anyone who "doesn't get" a piece is stupid! Of course they understand the underlying message behind the piece, it's obvious to someone like them!
It just happened to turn out that there was no meaning behind it at all, because it was just an A.I making a frankenstein collage of thousands of different images based on the phrase "queen's room overlooking fantasy kingdom realistic" or something.
>They never bothered to ask "what is this an image of?" because they didn't want to look like they "didn't get it", because they are professional art critics after all, and to them, anyone who "doesn't get" a piece is stupid! Did you just miss the last 100 years of art history or what? No fricking art critic in this day and age in concerned about "getting it".
Pff. It's just LOSERS who DON'T GET IT. It's obvious to us. I understand art. Picasso, Munch, That 23-year-old from North Carolina Community College who vandalized a Burger King sign... it's all got artistic value and meaning. Purpose. Power.
Can someone please explain how the frick this won an art competition? Literally just looks like it could have come from the DUNE story board or some shit
>local county fair >there were only 2 judges, a writer and a sculptor >the guy said it was made via midjourney but made sure to not tell the judges that it's AI that generates the whole thing instead of it being a painting program like Photoshop >judges aren't that terminally online and they don't know that AI art is a thing so they think the guy made it all himself
Wow, what a victory. Btw, I too can beat Usain Bolt in a race, lemme just get my motorcycle
Why does the AI always create those similar looking paintings of women?
Don't get me wrong, they're cute. It's really well done. But it looks formulaic, like the AI just tweaks a few parameters to make the woman look a little different each time. But is it really that different from what we already have in video games where you customize a character?
>Why does the AI always create those similar looking paintings of women?
does it?
I think you are just seeing a lot of stable diffusion right now and stable diffusion does faces a certain way
Just by looking at the images its pretty clear that its dataset contained a lot of images of very curvy anime girls, which is fast and easy to make digitally, so there is a ton of it online. Behind the scenes it literally just did a style transfer of a classical painting onto anime porn. Everything it creates is based on what sort of images it has been trained on.
It can style its about to match specific artists. The pics were probably made in a batch with similar parameters and artist tags. There's a catalogue available somewhere
>but are somehow the ultimate judiciary for other entity's
Not him, but the fact that you're even entertaining other entities is a problem. Everything should be about humans. Not animals, or AI. But us.
Definitely, everything should be about us, including the question of why do we think everything should be about us.

>why do we think everything should be about us.
Because that's the default condition. Technologists and furtuists are the ones proposing something new, so the burden of proof as to why this is a good thing is on them.
Quick test, turn on one of the burners on your stove to high heat. Then touch it. You recoil instantly. I'll leave it to you to explain why that happens.

Burden of proof, if they cared enough about you to prove it. Who says they have to? The argument could be made that AI could "replace" humanity, and that's an antithesis to unexplained instinct, but that itself is contradictory to the existence of the creator of the potential replacement, who lacks that instinct.

>if they cared enough about you to prove it.
Well, I don't think they care about humanity. John Carmack said that he doesn't care to convince detractors if AGI can be done. I don't think it's a far-cry to assume that based on his attitude, he also doesn't care if people don't want it to be done. The technologist class is going with AGI whether the public wants them to or not.
Dezgo now has image2image version >https://dezgo.com/image2image
but it works like shit, what promps I should use there to turn memes into memes made out of things as people keep posting?
now this is something i can get behind. this level of eldritch horror is something no human can ever hope to emulate no matter how hard they try.
i can see some kind of card game or any illustration-based RPG using monster designs like this that would make any generic tentacle 'lovecraft" inspired bullshit look like child's play
>ai is still bad at drawing hands and feet
Why don't the human artists just all move into foot work? AIs can have the futuristic desktop wallpaper and anime tiddy genres while us foot chads experience a renaissance
Feet are the hardest body part to draw and women spend more time and money on their feet than any other part of their body. The while body literally can't stand without feet. You would be crippled.
they're supposed to, but don't tell shills. this tech is meant to help chink concept artists pump out hollywood/video game stuff faster without having to spend a billion years photobashing throwaway/disposable assets
why is this shit a hot topic now? Someone feeds the ai some anime artstyle then turns your shitty lineart into a painting. The AI still can't generate the degenerate shit real artists can do
carefull, anon. You are getting dangerously close to creating a new generation of techno-tulpa. We can not save you from the manmade horrors beyond your understanding if you continue down this path
i dont get why everyone is losing their shit over this, do you people get hyped when an AI beats some grandmaster at chess? its technologically impressive sure but theres no talent, hard work or human element to its art.
Sentience isn't the problem people have with AI. It's the potential obsolescence of humans. It doesn't make sense to extinct ourselves. I don't care how advance technology gets, it's still just a tool that exists for us to use and then discard. Your most complex computer engineering feat is to be treated the same as a piece of iron attached to a wood handle.
The emphatic link has not taken within him. Robots aren't cute enough so they appear as monsteraliens to him. As if any mechanical mind they make would end up different than a human, especially with the way they're going about it, training it to copy what we do.
It's cute that non-programmers think that 'AI' like this is even an inch towards sentience.
This is just the next step of machinery making jobs easier and faster.
There is no sentience here.
what are your best prompts? "highly detailed, surrealism, trending on art station, triadic color scheme, smooth, sharp focus, matte, elegant" is pretty good for some things
looks like "art" made by a chink
Looks right at home in some shitty Android RPG game
Yes, a robot.
But the robot followed what someone input into the AI
so did human
And a human uses inspiration. What's the difference?
If you weren't a chink/shitskin you'd understand.
Last piece of art worth anything was made hundreds of years ago. The AI effortlessly shits on any modern """artists""".
>Last piece of art worth anything was made hundreds of years ago.
Yes. AI "art" is no improvement.
Just fricking read Poetics by Aristotle. That's all you need to know. Every single "artist" seething over AI output shouldn't be considered an artist. They don't even know their history, neither the very basics of philosophy of art.
Don't bother, people who praise this shit have no idea how AI works. It's literally a cargo cult.
Yes
So the human is the artist?
Yes, and his artistic medium is the computer
lol
>the commisioner is the artist , and his artistic medium is the artist
>"I want it looking like this, this, and this, here is some money, make it happen."
>What is an architect
Stunlocked
said the commissioner to the architect who then drew it on a piece of paper
what do you think the voices in your head are? we're in the matrix dummy
Human artists also learn from existing art.
pic was made by a moron
so you're checking me out, and you wanna mate
Not really a blank canvas innit. Turn off the wifi and the ai will really struggle.
It doesn't use wifi nor does that make sense
>Turn off the wifi and the ai will really struggle.
Nobody tell him
Turn off the oxygen and the human will really struggle too I reckon
i like i robot
If they hadn't let Will Smith have so much freedom it would have been great
I'm glad shit like this will put the likes of sakimichan out of business.
just imagine, white people created AI that makes masterpieces before an african could make art by themselves.
>it can even produce smut
>this isn't even a peak of ai
it's over
You should see what happens when you combine models. Lady weiners. Lady weiners everywhere
i'm not gay though
i miss those lads so goddamn much it's unreal
still blows my mind that Zach somehow directed one of the movies of the year
Huh? What do you mean? How does that work out
nikocado and goatse ai images alone are better than any modern art piece
Wasn't there some AI painting that won an art copetition, it's pretty good, but the fact that it is not fully realised yet is what really activates the almonds
literally the post above yours
i literally know that you Black person, the autoupdate tricked me

COMPUTERS ARE ALREADY MAKING US LOOK STUPID
>copetition
ya got that right!
heh
Bane??
>wins art competition
>turns out it was AI

nice hands AI bro
t.fell for the art degree meme
lil bro is actually pressed xD
so glad that happened, especially seeing as it's early AI and shows that artist critics are literally just swayed by pretty images, not actual artwork.
proves judges had shit in their eyes
Its pretty good art though.

Ah, so you are moronic, and coping hard. Got it.
Its good but what am I looking at, is this dune?
What, you don't get it? Geez, you have zero talent for art! It makes sense to a connoisseur like me and my fellow judges. It's so obvious.

- t. masters degree in ai and image processing
a masters degree in ai and image processing to be an expert on anime porn ai generated, impressive
It can style its about to match specific artists. The pics were probably made in a batch with similar parameters and artist tags. There's a catalogue available somewhere
so, where is ai generated music?
tbh nothing could be worse than mumble rap, so anything ai shits out would be an improvement
that's not canvas though
>these
>masterpieces
>implying
this is unironically better and more impressive than this:
I'm laughing at artnerds who fell for an AI expressionist piece, without any emotion to express.
You can't even explain your own perceived emotion, but are somehow the ultimate judiciary for other entity's.
Emotion is not a superpower.

Ok the rope and gag are photoshopped in. I saw the original the other day on this website and it didn’t have that, though it’s still pretty good

i can see some kind of card game or any illustration-based RPG using monster designs like this that would make any generic tentacle 'lovecraft" inspired bullshit look like child's play
Hmmmm. Continue the research.
artists that look at this AI thing as a threat and not as a helping tool are fricking idiots
Can they make velaryons White?
the mophead stays in, chud
knowing it was made by ai makes it less sexy
>ai is still bad at drawing hands and feet
Why don't the human artists just all move into foot work? AIs can have the futuristic desktop wallpaper and anime tiddy genres while us foot chads experience a renaissance
>foot""""""""""chads""""""""""""
stick to tarantinoflciks broski
Feet are the hardest body part to draw and women spend more time and money on their feet than any other part of their body. The while body literally can't stand without feet. You would be crippled.
AI just needs to be fed more feet pics and it'll improve as time goes on
Hands and feet are hard for human artists too.
Spindly little mini limbs.
Ai and artist can co-exist.
they're supposed to, but don't tell shills. this tech is meant to help chink concept artists pump out hollywood/video game stuff faster without having to spend a billion years photobashing throwaway/disposable assets
why is this shit a hot topic now? Someone feeds the ai some anime artstyle then turns your shitty lineart into a painting. The AI still can't generate the degenerate shit real artists can do
It will be able to eventually.
how? How does it know not to attach a penis on a female body just because several artists thought futas are erotic?
Yeah. It will create anything that's fed into it. It just needs the data.
i love my ai angels
i am their daddy, the vram i created them with is like my sperm (:
This doesn't look right. Something is wrong with her proportions
ur mum doesnt look right lmao
prompt?
carefull, anon. You are getting dangerously close to creating a new generation of techno-tulpa. We can not save you from the manmade horrors beyond your understanding if you continue down this path
>techno-tulpa
Not him, but I already did that with AID before it shit the bed
Awooga
Prompt: Black person, realistic
the imagegen released by NovelAI is top notch
>Only copies one the most popular styles.
That's the real limit of these.
Are these supposed to be anime-esque
No, more like artstation-esque, but it does anime as well
I don't know anon, are they?????
Perhaps
Its total shit at everything that isnt anime girls
anime girls are the only ones that matter
The furry porn made by AI is super impressive
i love big frickin anime milkies so much its insane bros
Post more ai porn homosexuals.
i dont get why everyone is losing their shit over this, do you people get hyped when an AI beats some grandmaster at chess? its technologically impressive sure but theres no talent, hard work or human element to its art.
Yeah! Who benefits from an AI winning chess???
Who benefits from an AI creating infinite pornogr---... wait, hmm...
>It's a humans still think sentience is some mystical power nothing else in the gorillion galaxies has ever achieved
Why do you care if "ourselves" go extinct?
Because like most mammals, humans have a strong self preservation instinct.
That's just a different phrasing of the same previous question. The question was why that purported instinct exists.
The emphatic link has not taken within him. Robots aren't cute enough so they appear as monsteraliens to him. As if any mechanical mind they make would end up different than a human, especially with the way they're going about it, training it to copy what we do.
Babies replace you already. Wouldn't you want a child to be more capable than you?
It's cute that non-programmers think that 'AI' like this is even an inch towards sentience.
This is just the next step of machinery making jobs easier and faster.
There is no sentience here.
>This is just the next step of machinery making jobs easier and faster.
No one takes issue with that. I don't know why you bothered brining it up.
>No one takes issue with that.
That is explicitly what people take issue with. Hence the artists seething and code monkeys soon to be seething.
>That is explicitly what people take issue with.
People seethed at all new technology
Its fear of being replaced. Making life easier is fine. Getting replacing people purpose is not.
>Getting replacing people purpose is not.
Damn, better go smash that steam engine and cotton gin then.
All things within reason. No logic should be applied uniformly to all situations.
That’s just an amalgamation of human art. And no a human copying other people’s stuff isn’t art either.
Yeah. Realism is where it's AT, bro.
do you truly believe there's such a thing as "original" art in 2010+20? Everything is a copy at this point man, do you even hyperreal
/r/ing the rest of the art will keep my wife’s name outta yer mawf smith is staring at in OP.
not a coomer I swear.
Damn, Koreans on suicide watch.
How long until I can feed the computer a script and it'll generate my own personal animated movie
Can you Black person?
>shitty bland coom "art"
what are your best prompts? "highly detailed, surrealism, trending on art station, triadic color scheme, smooth, sharp focus, matte, elegant" is pretty good for some things
First pictures. Then comic books. Animated movies soon enough. Then CGI so realistic we won't need actors.
By that point, people will rebel.
