One of the main difference is how angry Eddy gets at stuff. Though can’t blame him sometimes.
1-4 is the original run
Season 5 was made due to popularity. These are the episodes where they're in school as the summer is over and was stretched out over 2 years.
Lots of specials came out in this time though
Early episodes focused less scams and more of the Eds trying to fit and be cool, but end up failing every time.
Character-wise, Eddy is more angry and less smooth. He's mostly yelling at Double D and Ed. Double D is more cautious and complains more, and less inclined to be a troublemaker besides building stuff for scams. And Ed slowly gets dumber and dumber.
