My uncle was a cop back in the day and he had to do detail at some hollywood events and he told me that Chevy Chase was the ONLY celebrity he ever met that didn't have a chip on his shoulder. There was some mix up where he brought his own car but he wasn't supposed to or some shit and if he wanted to be in attendance then he would've had to park on the street or park at some fancy hotel across the street and pay for a room for the night, etc. and he wasn't the only celebrity there that this happened to so they all made a big deal about it and DEMANDED that they receive a police escort to and from the hotel, or they had assistants come and take their cars and then come back, but Chevy just parked on the street and paid a homeless guy a $500 to put quarters in the meter. He also said that he actually spent more time talking to the staff and other cops then to other celebrities. Just a real chummy guy.
