I remember seeing the trailer for this as a kid and they showed the part where the gerbil uses twitter. I thought, "I just can't believe it, the gerbil is using twitter!"
More live action movies should just say frick it and have completely unrealistic cartoon looking cgi animals like this movie does. Just no attempt at being realistic.
Realistic looking talking animals look off-putting, you can do a terrific job at it and it will still look shit because it's just wrong for their faces to be moving as if they were saying human words and everyone understands this. Making them cartoonish is way better than the Homeward Bound copout of just dubbing the voices over perfectly normal cats and dogs.
Does this hold up? I saw it as a kid when it originally came out and remember liking it but not sure if it's the kind of family movie that still works when you're an adult.
Both look like CGI
somehow this movie that came out 15 years ago manages to have better cgi

Because his jimmies remain unrustled.
I have the same dog as left, he's a good boy.
How did you get your dog to be featured in a Hollywood film?
>Animal holocaust
I fricking hope not.
Just found out this movie is actually Japanese? Wtf?
how the frick did they get away with this?
>Made in Japan
2 nukes wasn't enough
It was all CGI
>NOT NOT THE HECKIN PUPPERINO
>NOT MUH HECKIN JAPANERINO
Prove that a single animal was harmed in this movie, I'll wait
>Philippe Lacheau
Go back to Nicky Larsson and stop wasting your time here you fricker!
Looks like absolute kino! Is this out yet?
Yep, came out last month
>cute animal characters
>80% of the movie is boring human main plot
I hate when movies do this
Yeah this movie was a bit of a letdown, that being said I didn't watch it in the original French but even so
holy shit that looks fricking terrible. is the movie set in new york casue they couldn't get free 3d assets of french landmarks?
>Maman, pourrions-nous acheter le Cats & Dogs dé vé dé a l'hypermarche?

>Cats & Dogs
Low bar, that movie wasn't even good to begin with

Real animals with CGI mouths is the best compromise
just have them be silent like dunstun, buddy or the chimp in MVP
counterpoint
Garfield (2004) is kino and I'm tired of pretending it's not
>le budget effet speciaux
>13,50 euros
I know he's a dog but the amount of times he was asking to sniff her butt was becoming questionable.
>french "humour"
fake, if it was really french, the dog wouldn't ask before digging its nose in her ass
>the dog wouldn't ask before digging its nose in her ass
>
Reem looks like a hybrid of Sarah Silverman and the late Amy Winehouse
And I'd totally bang her
shes so fricking old though
This movie looks like it should've came out at least a decade earlier
>They're bringing back the "live action talking animals" genre aren't they?
god i hope not
I miss these kind of movies, nobody knows how to make adorable animal movies anymore.
