They have different skills that would benefit the team, are more then competent enough, bring a lot of plot and comedic potential, and allow for more then one female in the Rangers

As a Zoomer who never watched the show and just thought Gadget was hot. I didn't care that Zipper fricked her, the movie was still ass and I choose the bat.
You should check out the show it's a lot of fun. Although I would suggest googling "top ten rescue Rangers episodes" and start watching from that list. Like I love the pilot but it's a two-parter that show's how the team formed in the first place. It might be a bit much for a first-time viewer. You would probably be more interested in their origins after watching a few regular episodes anyways.

It's the shame what they did to that 1 episode they lost the FILM tape to. It's not that hard to upscale 480x720 (or 576x720, if them europeans ever got a good source). But from what I seen, the episode got the Sword in the Stone treatment, with the cheapest quickest upscale, that looks like vaseline was smeared on top of everything. They could also include the episode as SD on Bluray, but no......
I recall something exactly like that happening to Evangelion.
Episode 16 was upscaled from a DVD transfer on the Blu-ray, which is off-putting as the rest of the Blu-ray was practically perfect even in 1080p.
They lost the original negatives for that episode.
Too bad GKIDS didn't use AstroRes for Episode 16 on the US Blu-ray release, considering they got MediaOCD (the people that made AstroRes for Discotek), but Studio Khara probably didn't allow them to use AstroRes.
GKIDS Evangelion could have been the first time AstroRes was used for a non-Discotek release, but that award now goes to the Sonic Origins version of Sonic CD, where the anime FMVs were upscaled with AstroRes.

Gadget hands down is eveyones first pick. I feel bad for Dale being stock with Fox Glove.
