>Clark Kent : It wasn't a competition.
>Lex Luthor : Of course it wasn't. You were born to be the chosen one. You're simply better than us.
>Clark Kent : And that always killed you.
>Lex Luthor : No. No, what killed me is that you didn't even want it. You fought it - you hid from it! I would have taken it and relished it, embraced it.
>Clark Kent : My destiny wasn't yours to take!
>Lex Luthor : I get that now. Which is why I finally embraced my own. You and I... we will both be great men. Because of each other, we have a destiny together, Clark... only on different sides.
>Clark Kent : I'll always be there to stop you. Always.
>Lex Luthor : Oh, I'm counting on it.
Amazing how a "Teen Years" show gave Luthor the best motivation of any incarnation. Luthor hating Superman because he's simply better is enough, but it makes him petty. It's why he's never evolved as a character and just exists as a general archetype. The bald jealous mad scientist. But making Luthor grow to despise Superman specifically because he has all the power, he is superior, and yet denies the responsibility that comes with it, is brilliant. It makes it a genuine ethical rivalry, instead of it being about a petty homosexual pestering a super-chad.

Grow up homosexual they are dumb children stories.
I hope you enjoy something at some point, so you won't stay stuck in this bitter state you find yourselves in.
>heh, you dont like comic book sitcoms? get a life kid
>using AI images
You've failed at life
You're not wrong.
Enjoy your teen drama you esl homosexual
>Someone with no understanding of punctuation, capitalisation, or sentence construction sees a series of perfect sentences and concludes they must be an ESL
Ask me how I know you're an American
Shouldn't you be worshipping a powerful BIPOC womyn's wiener, homosexual?
It's shocking that between this and the DCAU Warner Bros couldn't scrape a single passable live action film together.
>show gives you an asian fetish
🙁
>My destiny wasn't yours to take!
What a shitty fricking line. The dialogue was almost working until the hack pushed it over the edge.
Clark wasn't the brightest tool of the shed
The worse line was
>But that's the thing about memories... You can't forget them
and Tess shows up and erase his memories. Stupid ending
>The red capes are coming!
Snyder Luthor made no sense:
>My father beat me when I was a kid
>Therefore God is le bad!
>Superman is very powerful, so that makes him God
>Therefore Superman is le bad!!!
Hate it too, supposedly one of the smartest people alive reduced to fedora atheism because he cant tell the difference bewteen god and someone who is very strong and fast.
Nah, it,s more like people see him as a god, so Lex wants to show them they are wrong. Clark may or may not think himself a god, but it doesn't really factor in a something important for Lex's motivations.
His motive is 'look at your God, he doesn't care about you like mine didn't care about me.'
People call him an atheist, but it's completely wrong. He believes alright, but he hates so much he wants everyone to hate god/gods as much a he does and show them that they don't have humanity's interests at heart.
Smallville was dumb with a lot of things but yes, they did nail Lex
This the Smallville thread?
> SOMEBODY SAAAAAAAVE MEEEEEE
I'm on season 3 and I love it bros, maximum comfy 2000's nostalgia, best music, best Lex and Clark and casting in general. This shit has inadvertently made me allergic to nearly all other capeslop.
you'll hate lana by s7 because they are going to run the exact same plot line for 4 more years
i can't imagine hating lana ever
> those little wrinkles she gets on the side of her nose when she smiles
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
that said I'm hoping as the show progresses the focus switches a little more to Clark doing adult type shit in Metropolis
>"Good afternoon my bald son"
>IM NOT BALD BY A CHOICE
Grows the thickest longest hair just to flex and dab on his kid
Plebbit
Best girl
Fantastic dialogue ruined by the need to shove in Lex's meta antagonism.
>But making Luthor grow to despise Superman specifically because he has all the power, he is superior, and yet denies the responsibility that comes with it, is brilliant.
So basically making it so Luthor hate Superman because he's is better then Lex.
Imo, Luthor sees himself as the man responsible for pushing Superman to become a God, to be worshiped by millions. He's his arch enemy but also his #1 fan.
This is pure shit, Lex is a petty homosexual, a jealous manlet, that is enough motivation. I hate that moronic manchildren need every character to be likable or to have a deep motivation, Lex is a small bald dicklet, thats it. You dont need more than that.
>barges into the Luthor mansion unnanounced
Meanwhile in real life Lex Luthor became a podcaster
He'd buy Twitter and pander to incel autists all day long
im not kidding
this is him now
at least he got his hair back
I thought you were saying Lex Luthor would have a podcast. Michael Rosenbaum looks like a good pal I'd be friends with
>No dad I'll build the tallest building and everyone will have to look up at me!
>Next panel: Lex Looking at superman flying by, above him
Anyone know what I'm talking about? There's no way I dreamed this I still take my meds
Yeah that was a good scene but just after that they had to erase Lex's memory to explain why he doesn't know Clark is Superman so it's not clear why he hates Superman after that. They specify that they erase his entire memory so it's not clear why he does anything at all after that.
I just saw a clip from this the other day showing how much better they do super speed on this show than literally any other example before or since. Show honestly looks like some comfy kino.
It is insanely comfy. Filled with early 2000s music too. Was a lockdown comfort watch for me.
Huh
