Is that the brother she married?

Cleo in the series was always exclusively horny for men. Except that one episode where she got horny for an evil pirate woman who looks just like her. She is pretty self absorbed so no wonder she would fall for herself.

Cleopatra was Greek, not Egyptian. And she looked like this IRL:

Oy vey, why did they give her a bump on the nose that isn't there on the statue?

Someone desperately tried to turn her into persyn of kola instead of a Hellene. In more sensible works she is at most plain.

Cleopatra was Greek, not Egyptian. And she looked like this IRL:

        >So beautiful she ensnared Julius Caesar and Mark Antony
        >Yeah but what if she was homely and plain?

I refuse to believe that the average woman in antiquity was so disgusting that this was considered beautiful

          Anonymous

I always remember reading that she was plain but had a good personality. And Caesar smashed and dashed, so I wouldn't call that ensnared.

Not really, a lot of works say she was around a 6/10 at best, but had insanely high charisma and knew her way with words. But otoh I never saw anything confirming the rumors that she was extremely skilled in bed.

            Anonymous

Well we have exclusively Roman sources about her who pretty much state she had 9/10 Wit.

"Her (Cleopatra) way of walking... her clothes, her free way of talking, her embraces and kisses, her beach-parties and dinner-parties, all show her to be a tart."

"Her actual beauty, it is said, was not in itself remarkable... but the attraction of her person, joining with the charm of her conversation... was something bewitching. It was a pleasure merely to hear the sound of her voice, with which, like an instrument of many strings, she could pass from one language to another, so that there were few of the nations that she needed an interpreter... which was all the more surprising because most of her predecessors, scarcely gave themselves the trouble to acquire the Egyptian tongue."

Cicero and Plutarch both HATED her, but admitted 'she's the Miss Personality of the Greek-speaking world.

No, it didn't. Those are vaguely brown girls in vaguely ancient Egyptian inspired dress, not Egyptiangirls. Egyptian girls wear burqas, there's nothing to be attracted to.

The word "Egypt" is Latin, so it makes sense to use it to refer to the Ptolemeic Dynasty. Egypt today doesn't even call itself Egypt (nor did Ancient Egypt for that matter, but it had a different name).
