OP here, I have very fond memories of this film from childhood. It was one of my favorites cause of its crazy creativity and theme park-like sets which is what kids like.
Really? It scared the living daylights out of me as a kid. Never understood the hate the movie got when I heard about it. From what I understand its because its not made like how they usually make movies.
Demi Moore looked her best in this flick imo. It's a shame that this movie bombed, I'd love to see more batshit crazy kino from the mind of Dan Akroyd.
I think people wanted it to be more of a Wayne's World type comedy.
Coneheads basic humor was "1950s sitcom but with weird aliens" and the movie really carries that on, so I guess it didn't feel "hip" enough for the modern audiences (at the time)
he still did coneheads and that bombed too
also he started having kids with the spies like us girl around then so probably didn't have as much time to put into projects
>The crew enjoyed working with John Candy and Demi Moore, but Chevy Chase (as he is infamous for) proved to be a nightmare. Chase was verbally abusive to everyone on set, tried to speak on Moore's behalf about her "skimpy" costume, and stated that he had more worth than Aykroyd because Chase had the bigger paycheck. The crew was furious at Chase's treatment of Aykroyd, with one crew member even threatening to drop a brick on Chase's head if he ever spoke to the director like that again.
I wonder what changed in between Spies Like Us and Nothing but Trouble. Surely Akroyd wouldn't have hired Chase if he had acted like an butthole during their previous movie.
That’s a gross misunderstanding of him. He was abused by his insane mother and locked in the basement several times for days at a time with only a cup to pee in then drink from. He has major issues with feeling unwanted or unliked and lashes out at people. He’s a very sweet and sensitive guy around friends and family.
He’s a cool dude who got a bad wrap from literal garbage leftists. When he came back to host SNL and told the gay guy we should do a sketch where you get AIDS and die. Absolutely mad lad. He hits hard he’s a mean comic. It’s supposed to be funny.
lol no wonder people stopped hiring him after the 90s, after awhile if everyone thats ever worked with you says you're a nightmare to work with nobody will ever hire you again. he really fricked it up with Community, that coulda been his comeback but he fricked that up too because he cant stop being Chevy lol
Saw it a few months back when it was free on Youtube. It's such a bizarre movie. Moore was so hot in it, but the story didn't make much sense but the set design was amazing. I feel like this is one of the first gross out comedies too which became more of a thing in the late 90s and early 00s.
I use to hate this movie for its weird style and "horror" comedy. but compared to any of the recent souless A24 Horror comedy movies this movie was a fricking masterpiece.
When I was a little kid I had a Nothing But Trouble poster on my wall and when I got my pubes I replaced it with pic related. I want my Nothing But Trouble poster back and I’m disgusted that younger me jerked off to a woman with a mole on her face.
We're not allowed in the house
I wish I had a hot dog train.
I bet you do Hunter.
Nothing but K
ino
did someone say, "K?"
is it good? john candy never let me down
It has a literal holocauster, and dan akryod with a dick for a nose
He hates bankers(jews)
akroyd is an OG redpilled dude, NO DOUBT
a true autist
Not really.

Same, that one and Hudson Hawk are so 90s weird kino
Bunny…ball, ball.
it's not a john candy movie
it's dan aykroyd with a bunch of money and cocaine and nobody stopping him from making what he wanted
its a true gem. Enjoy with popcorn
Wish Dan Akroyd and Tim Burton linked up for one film
KINO
?si=ZUNLMsDCR5lgZOlc
so weird and violent out of fricking nowhere
I went into this movie expecting the Munsters and I ended up getting Mad Max.
I wish movies as batshit as this could still get made.
I will not have my sister - who was queen of the Mardi Gras - sit at a table with a

Coneheads
Dragnet
and Nothing but Trouble are Dan's best films
Ghostbusters wasn't really that much of a Dan film
I loved Coneheads as a kid. Never understood its bad reputation. I wish they would release an extended version with the cable tv exclusive scenes.
I think people wanted it to be more of a Wayne's World type comedy.
Coneheads basic humor was "1950s sitcom but with weird aliens" and the movie really carries that on, so I guess it didn't feel "hip" enough for the modern audiences (at the time)
It reminds me of The Brady Bunch Movie which ironically was a hit just a couple of years later.
love Dragnet

Anyone else have the hots for Connie ?
The actress has weirdly never looked better then when she had a giant bald conehead.

Chevy only agreed to do the movie because he was friends with Dan too. what a jerk

Chevy Chase is just a terminal rich kid even in his old age
That’s a gross misunderstanding of him. He was abused by his insane mother and locked in the basement several times for days at a time with only a cup to pee in then drink from. He has major issues with feeling unwanted or unliked and lashes out at people. He’s a very sweet and sensitive guy around friends and family.
Odd Nut to suck on OP

the gays he work with just cant handle the bantz.
only based people like Norm and Randy Quaid got along with him
You just gotta put it in perspective, sonny Jim. 90% of all movies are less attention-grabbingly crazy than this one.

>just happy to be here
All around the world, same song.
*blacks were still capable of producing fun, non-nihilistic music*
havent seen this in awhile, but I remember it was fricking wierd. Especially for having big stars at the time like Demi Moore in it.
Weird is what made it great. I watched this on HBO at least 20 times and bought it around 2000 in the $5 dvd bin at WalMart. Still have it today.
Chevrolet Chase spoiled it by thinking he was a bigger star than he was
>john candy
>chevy chase
>dan akroyd directing and fricking starring in it
>it's somehow bad
