i hope joan and abe fuk
and then abe is disappointed but still considers joan a friend
and joan also decides it was lame, but secretly LOVED jumping his 8-inch abe and has once again become hopelessly infatuated with him again
It's because the show is taking itself seriously now instead of just being a parody. This along with character assassination of the entire original cast makes season 2 feel like a lifeless corpse.
The problem with the new season is that the characters are taken too seriously, instead of being dumb cartoon characters.
No one will invent the knork, or think littering is cool, or have their car spontaneously flip over
In what way is the show taking itself seriously? You can argue that it feels different from season 1 but it undeniably is not taking itself seriously. Joan almost died from “silly legs” in the last episode
I would say it's not taking it's self too seriously and more meandering. The first season was very clearly about the Abe/ Cleo/ Joan love triangle and every episode was about that in one way or another but this season doesn't set up much of anything.
Abe liking Joan is brought up in the first episode as the conflict of the season but has barely come up so far and hasn't driven the conflict of an episode directly. Joan and JFK's relationship has had some minor conflicts but nothing that really has any impact since it gets solved completely at the end of the episode(or by the end of the next episode) with no cracks to cast it as even a minor conflict for season and more of a minor distraction.
The show hasn't found it's legs yet especially with the new characters. Maybe Operation Spread Eagle will amount to something but we've one had a single end of episode teaser for it so far.
Every episode of the first season was also a clever parody of teen soap opera tropes, reaching its absolute peak with the episode where Ponce de Leon dies and they pretend he was an important character.
>The anxiety episode especially felt like it to me.
I see where you're coming from, but weirdly enough that was one of the few episodes from this seadon that I actually mostly liked
maybe just because there were enough good throwaway gags (topher and the possum, JFK and confucius leaving the gymnasium for the woodshop, etc.) that landed without being buzzkilled by the main plot
The problem with the new season is that the characters are taken too seriously, instead of being dumb cartoon characters.
No one will invent the knork, or think littering is cool, or have their car spontaneously flip over
The whole point of that desert episode was that Abe was in the right. He apologized anyway because maintaining a relationship was more important than the moral high ground.
It's kinda funny how the only people who watch/ are hype about more clone high episodes aren't fans of the original at all, because if they were they wouldn't enjoy seeing it puppetted around weekend at bernie's style.

One week left until the season finale. Mini-encodes are also up.
I think the new season is alright, but I miss the tone of the original where it was a complete satire of every high school romance trope. That parody There were so many moments of characters acting dramatic over stupid shit that was so funny to me. This new one expects me to actually care about these relationships and the humor is not mocking the teenage angst, which is more in line with what adult animated sitcoms usually do.
to be fair she thought almost kissing Joan in the original was hot
Then you can shift into parodying something else. What worked is that the characters took stupid silly stuff dead seriously, and that every sincere moment was a joke. That type of comedy can work in any format, it's not exclusive to just high school drama.
Besides, we still get high school tv shows and movies to this day, and they still have cringe stuff you can mock. And if those are too boring, then make fun of any other shitty trope dramas have recently. Look at how people teared apart that good doctor show.
Neither of you has a solid suggestion. It's a difficult situation to be in. How would people get the jokes if they riff off tv shows that are 10 years old? What else would they parody if it's a high school show? It's easy to say "I would do it this way instead" in hindsight, but even then you don't have actual suggestions.

>How would people get the jokes if they riff off tv shows that are 10 years old?
That didn't stop the original show from blowing up recently and gaining a large audience. >What else would they parody if it's a high school show?
By utilizing pop cultural coming age of tropes everyone is familiar with as these are not exclusive to just 2000s teen dramas and could well work within the high school setting. They actually did with some episodes this season like the sleep over and stress episode, twister too. >It's a difficult situation to be in
It is and I don't really disagree

>How would people get the jokes if they riff off tv shows that are 10 years old?
How do people get the jokes when they watc the original season NOW , when they are even more outdated? The comedy works because everyone in their life has seen some cheesy, badly written, mediocre drama at some point of their lives, and the jokes of the original season made fun of that. We live in an age where everyone is aware of the worst dramatic content in TV and film out there, there's hundreds of youtubers making content about mocking these shitty stories, so that type of satire still works to this day. Dear Evan Hensen released not too long ago and that's a perfect thing to parody in Clone High.

If they want to parody high school shows nowadays they need more boobs, sex, and murder

I think Clone High S2 is finally starting to find its footing. The gags feel stronger, the parodies read clearer, and it feels like every character's got SOMETHING to do now. Feels good ngl
Yeah, the last two episodes (spring break one in particular) were the first that felt like the original series in terms of the writing. The characters were in-character but still playful, and the jokes had good pacing and were actually funny (for the most part). I really hope they realize this, figure out whatever it was in the production process that led to it, and keep doing it.
Man, go fuck yourself. I wasted 45 minutes watching those episodes foolishly thinking that they really, truly turned things around, only to be met with more mediocre garbage.
also because Topher sets Abe up to get molested by a teacher. Kind of a good bomb to drop on kids who cry over fictional characters and ships n what not.
i’ll be honest the crush came outta nowhere and insincere i don’t know what this lil nigga has planned
i don’t think he’s gay for abe either like the fujos say
I don't know about the sex drawing but he actually has a defined character, him rebranding his name is a legit funny concept and adds something to the group dynamic rather than "cool girl" or "theatre girl"
He's the only character who's entirely played for laughs with no attempt of making him mean anything beyond that. AKA the only one who would fit in the original season.
He's a sympathetic character because it seems like he was traumatized by his upbringing and who his clone original was, so he overcompensates. I'm hoping he gets a redemption arc.
Your a loser with a very small amount of friends......ZERO. And the amount of people you'll have at your funeral is also zero. Because you have no friends! Maybe your dad will show up just to take a dump on your face and he'll say, "Look, my dump is my son's only friend." Oh, wait! Even the dump hates you.
LOVING THIS EPISODE OF "JOAN, JFK AND HARRIET" CARTOON SHOW.
The writers are so fucking retarded that the characters we are supposed to hate like Topher are the break-out stars. Abe is redeemed because JoanFK is so fucking terrible.
Lame, Frida has very little characterization at this point and Cleo has almost none for an s1 character I don't see how it'll work, not even for laughs.
>she’s paired up with confucius
I know it was hinted like with the other characters but it also made me realize how little interactions the characters have with each other.
Would it even work if they took up less screentime? There's some serious cast bloat this season I feel that one way or another you'd still have characters underutilized and undeveloped. Even the main og cast( of all things.

If it were evenly divided among the four "main" 2002 clones, keeping them interacting with eachother, sure. Anything to force them to acknowledge Abe/Cleo, at LEAST. Makes you wonder how the season would've panned out if people didn't latch onto JFK so hard during the meme revival.

>Anything to force them to acknowledge Abe/Cleo
It was genuinely an odd choice to not even have these two interact seeing as they're following some continuity going through with Joanfk. >Makes you wonder how the season would've panned out if people didn't latch onto JFK so hard
Probably about the same, Abe was pretty unpopular with the tiktok crowd so you'd still get most of the focus on Joan.
i would have preferred if confusions found a way to impress cleo so she would be with him instead.
It oddly makes sense, Confucius is gen z Abe-lite but rich, he's probably a virgin like Abe too.

I'm noticing the tiktok crowd are now mad because JFK is acting like he did in the original season
>MrsMommaFucius: Confucius, son, I'm taking your sister and the rest of the family to Bail for 2 weeks. >MrsMommaFucius: We would take you but we'd rather have fun. You understand. >MrsMommaFucius: I left you the credit card in the Microwave for dinner. >MrsMommaFucius: Whatever you do, don't get lost in the desert because we won't be around to care at all.
Damn... doing my dude dirty like dat...
There's a few angsty guitar chords thrown in here and there, but it's mostly new generic pop and rap music instead. Even in the good episodes, it throws me off every time.
Yeah. If you've every had the displeasure of seeing an episode of your average modern teen drama show, or those dumb dime-a-dozen millennial comedies you find on streaming networks, it's that kind of music.
I usually have to skip through a scene when it appears.
>"Clone High," with season two currently in production for a 2024 debut
https://press.wbd.com/us/media-release/max/max-reveals-preview-its-originals-adult-animation-slate-annecy-international
If they renew the show right now, I think they can release season 4 in 2025 just fine.
>inb4 Season 4 Clone College >inb4 Ghandi thaws and doesn't get into College and becomes a truck driver in his own b plot >inb4 we will never get Ghandi trucking kino adventures
They said they wanted to add Ghandi once they make enough content. He was the reason the show got canceled so they didn't want to risk another 1 season show just because the Indians get upset.
I assume any season they bring him back will be the last because I doubt that crowd has learned to calm down after all these years.
>They said they wanted to add Ghandi once they make enough content.
"We'll consider bringing him back if you support us enough to get more seasons" stinks like a scam.
>I assume any season they bring him back will be the last because I doubt that crowd has learned to calm down after all these years.
it's okay, they have the MCU and Fast and the Furious movies to keep them distracted from everything
>inb4 Gandhi is slightly younger than the other characters, and they'll have to teach him everything about modern media and what happened in the past seasons
>We always thought that Abe was the hero in it and he was our POV guy and we loved him, and people don’t. People hate Abe and think he’s such a turd. It was always weird to me that people gave Abe so much shit for how he acted in season 1. He’s not obligated to reciprocate her feelings yet people criticized him because he didn’t.
>Chris and Phil were like, “We need more Abe stories,” and I was trying to say, “A lot of these young writers don’t want to hear from Abe ever again.”
Abe lincolnbros...
>He’s not obligated to reciprocate her feelings yet people criticized him because he didn’t
That was the whole point, how did people not get this?
That's an issue with a lot of fiction in general, where people think a woman having a crush means that she's OWED a relationship because of it. It's one of the main things that irked me about Helga from Hey Arnold.
Weird they say that since they still got what they wanted with Abe.
>people don’t. People hate Abe and think he’s such a turd.
It was always weird to me that people gave Abe so much shit for how he acted in season 1. He’s not obligated to reciprocate her feelings yet people criticized him because he didn’t.
Nah, he was pretty flawed. He's not obligated to reciprocate her feelings, but he always dismissed his friend and rarely took her seriously. He also had this complex of being a problem solver who has a big heart when he only ended up making things worse, and he was a pretty pathetic simp for Cleo. He was an ass, but he was still funny.
It doesn't help Abe finally started to play attention to Joan after she dress like a skank. I know teenagers are shallow but that doesn't make a compeling MC you want to root for.
that was the POINT
every character is a silly cartoon parody
the show was making fun tropes, not creating engaging drama that you're supposed to get invested in
This is something that amazes me. In the season 1 finale, the impression was that JFK went and told Joan exactly what she wanted to hear in order to get into her pants because he's a womanizer.
That was pretty much everyone's impression, yet you can pretty much tell he was retconned in order to appeal to the tiktok fandom

They modified him to appeal to the himbo trend.
The important thing to note about the himbo fandom is that usually the characters who are labeled himbos have that whole "canon vs fanon" thing.
Joseph Joestar, for instance, has never been particularly stupid with his greatest strength being his cunning, he's also a known adulterer, but has still somehow matched the description of "kind, dumb, buff boi".
If they brought JFK back as he was originally written, it would break the illusion with their fanon thrown out the window

JFK is different from an example like Joseph, because he is meant to be dumb. The problem with the new season is that that's pretty much his only trait now, since the whole "jock high school bully" thing isn't as popular anymore.

JFK was always objectively dumb. Also he didn't manipulate Joan in S1 with any Machiavellian schemes, it was a right place right time type of thing. And Abe was always a jackass.
I think the jarring difference between S1 and S2 really boils down to tone and delivery. S2's delivery makes it a bit more clear that Abe is a shithead but the actual content isn't different from S1.
S1 is basically a person saying "i'm a good person and good things should happen to me" in complete sincerity before heading off to do bad things and ruin everyone's perception of them. S2 is that same exact line but said in a over the top goofy voice before going off to do those bad things.

What the fuck are you talking about? S1 Abe would try to help people unwantedly but he would never demand good things to happen to him. The joke is that he's oblivious but genuinely nice like the characters he's supposed to parody but taken to a cartoonish extreme
There's a bunch account that claim him to be like nine feet tall, so those old Chinese bastards were clearly bullshitting, hence the use of the "realistic" estimate.

This. How thousands of zoomers, and the entire writing staff of the new season completely missed the point on that is beyond me.
I get the joke but that doesn't mean I have to like it. JFK and Gandhi are deeply flawed but still likable in a cartoony way. Even Cleo is funny as a complete alpha bitch
>the show was making fun tropes, not creating engaging drama that you're supposed to get invested in
That's pretty much it. You can really tell this new fandom completely missed the point of the original series when you see stuff like this video
Dude's going "lol this is basically Clone High right" when Clone High was going "this is basically teen dramas". Gandhi was a parody of the "comic relief best friend" character but all the main characters were comic relief
You just know that if the writers end up noticing Topher's popularity they'll just end up ruining him in the next season while trying to pander to the fandom
It feels like young people don't appreciate lighthearted comedy nowadays, everything's gotta have drama and serious emotion (or be le soft and wholesome which is just annoying)
>but he always dismissed his friend and rarely took her seriously
Half naiveté, half intentional humor >He also had this complex of being a problem solver who has a big heart when he only ended up making things worse
That's literally his character arc. He wants to be a good leader like clone father. >and he was a pretty pathetic simp for Cleo
Again, humor. Why is this so hard to understand? Why are people trying to bring Abe down for being a silly character in a silly show?!
>the show was making fun tropes, not creating engaging drama that you're supposed to get invested in

Is that sea men song about sex ed in USA true? if it is then holy shit, that explains so much, no wonder there's so many american incels, school shooters and e-whores
There's simply no way for americans to develop a healthy mindset about sex if they learn everything from TV of course they'll end up being obsessed with it or hating everything related to sex
America was founded by Puritans who left the UK for not being conservative enough, anon. Is it any wonder that this is the kind of shit they would have as a legacy?
USA was founded as the land of freedom...
.... religious freedom, then Europe spits to America every fruit from christian orchard. That's how you get murricans.
Im ok with frida being a lesbian, but now that i think about it where's the diego rivera clone? Frida and diego had so much fucking drama in their lives that it feels like it's something that could work for clone high
Shit anon me too! I wanted them to hook up as final canon couple, so I'll wait for later seasons. The later the better since as they use tropes they will follow how teen dramas never seem to stay with a healthy couple for more than one season before breaking them up
I can't believe abe was so close to dating joan,he has been an irrelevant retard for the entire season while JFK has done everything right, i know this show isn't trying to make any sort of sense but the JoanFK break up feels so forced to give abe a chance
So I just wanna bring up something? I thought they said they were moving past 2000s humor.. >The B plot is that Abe gets statutorily raped by a cougar under the influence of an aphrodisiac and the joke is funny because she's an old ugly woman trying to be sexy >She promptly falls over and dies like a withered old husk after Abe rejects her because her body count is too high >Abe is then blackmailed by a self-righteous PC "nice guy" in an overcomedic fashion so that he doesn't get the girl
This is 100% early-mid 2000s edgy humor down to the "rape jokes are fine if it happens to a guy"
It's toned down in terms of wording but it's unmistakably that brand of humor from that era. Arguably with an edgier subject matter than anything we saw in the first season. More akin to a Family Guy or South Park plot line.
>The B plot is that Abe gets statutorily raped by a cougar under the influence of an aphrodisiac and the joke is funny because she's an old ugly woman trying to be sexy >She promptly falls over and dies like a withered old husk after Abe rejects her because her body count is too high
I don't know who would ever enjoy this.
It's the unintended consequence of sanding down 2000s humor. Think back to those shows or even the memes back then like "surprise buttsecks".
That brand of humor only worked because it was usually pure fucking absurdity that was so disconnected from reality that it didn't really click in terms of what actual rape looked like.
That level of absurdity like a shark jumping out of the water and forcibly raping a guy in the ass isn't allowed anymore.
But it's still the same humor, and what you're left with is an old woman trying to seduce Abe in what can only be called a pretty fucking uncomfortable scene.
Only on episode 5 so no karate yet like someone mentioned. But that's my problem with Frida is that she has no character flaws. She's mentioned something unhygienic but harmless earlier. But overall Frida has never made a mistake or the slightest faux pas.
Here's hoping she gets a huge ego from some critic complementing her graffiti episode.
here's a spoiler if you really wanna know one of frida's flaws, read at your own discretion she gets SUPER nervous around people
girls she likes, like when cleo starts hitting on her she cannot bring herself to respond properly and runs awayout of nervousness
The problem is the core joke she's really designed with is "Chill and friendly juxtapose to the stereotypical 'bully' cool kids we saw in the original."
[...]

Of course he was a dumbass but getting emotionally vulnerable girls to sleep with him was kinda something he had already alluded to in the past. Moreover, rewatch the scene where he and Joan are found in the bed. Every other character is mortified while he has a massive smile on his face after a line pretty much designed to say "yep! I'm the twist!"
At the bare minimum, the "character development" in the finale that people keep talking about was imaginary.
That's what I immediately thought her motive was
It'd be pretty ooc for her to be genuinely interested in her outside of a "you stole my popularity, bitch" kinda thing
So I got the list >Showrunner Rivinoja worked on original, wrote for South Park from 2001-2012 and wrote Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2 and Addams Family 2019 >Episode 2 writer is literal no name except for a few episodes of Silicon Valley >Episode 3 writers wrote the direct to DVD Beverly Hills Chihuahua sequel >Episode 4, Miller, has done well for himself with stuff like American Dad but feels like a shadow of his old shows >Episode 5 guy? Zombie Simpsons and Last Man On Earth. >Episode 6 wrote for Chicago Party Aunt. >Episode 7 wrote for Awkwafina is Nora from Queens. >Episode 8 wrote something called Lycanphobic which I'm gonna assume is about wanting to fuck a werewolf
This is our writing crew thus far, boys
>wrote something called Lycanphobic which I'm gonna assume is about wanting to fuck a werewolf
Nah that would be 'Lycanphilic' 'phobic' means fear, it's 'philic' which means love.
>Lycanphobic >2018 >13m >Lycanphobic (2018) >A young woman's lover reveals to her that he is a werewolf, sending her into a spiral as she tries to figure out what sexual fidelity means to a man who can have sex with people and dogs
You were saying, anon?
if you're invested in the characters, no, but if you're in it for comedy, yes. these are probably the funniest two episodes out of the lot, but the bar's pretty low.
I don't mind the shift in pov to Joan since they seem to be doing a reversal of roles from the first season. Still Abe is pretty consistent writing wise, and I think he works the best when he's working off of Topher, where his "everyman" shtick can shine. Cleo has only just recently gotten focus in the last two episode to pair her up with Frida.
>minor characters from season one >appearing in any meaningful way
Ghenghis Khan got his first line in the season in episode 7. One line. He was recast.
Topher has a comedic angle. Confucius, Frida, and Harriet do not. That's really what it all comes down to with the way the new characters have been received.
Did you heard Catherine the Great voice at the end of episode 8? They changed her voice. She used to have a deep raspy one and now she sounds just like a regular girl.
I never really thought about it, but yeah, that is kinda why I find them hot.
Is that gay? I mean, I don't care because I swing both ways, but I'd like to know.
>At this point, I don't want him to come back anymore.
Yeah
Knowing that if he came back, he wouldn't be voiced by Michael McDonald, makes me want them to just forget about him completely despite how much the show needed him
Also, I don't think he would be as funny as before, and unless they retire the new clones, there are going to be yet more characters in the cast, including Gandhi and the character they're planning to have McDonald voice (see

We've definitely been monkey pawed here.
With that said, if he was still there at least one person would still be acting like a cartoon character you know, if the writers knew what they were doing.
was wondering when someone was gonna point this out. I thought it was the audio captions glitched on my tv.

who are these young new writers that need to be lined up and shot.
This is why the new season is a directionless mess that was a compromise between what the old season was and what these dipshit 20 year old fanfiction writers wanted the show to be.
it was doomed from the start.
Is it weird that I thought the sex Ed one was good? It’s the first episode I feel kept a good pace similar to the original, all the characters had things to do and some jokes landed. Fuck the seamen though, this show really loves to huff its farts for certain jokes without actually building onto them.
I honestly wouldn’t have minded this if they actually did more with these characters other than the surface level stuff they established in episode 1.
Honestly, yeah. I'd say it's the best episode so far. It's got the classic tone, and it's not too over-the-top like some of the other new episodes are. The only three bad parts are the 'seamen song', Abe being unable to confess to Joan, and the fact that Harriet and Confucius are still boring as all hell.
I'm not a fan of this couple. I know the real Frida used to go either way, but I don't like how they decided to make Cleo the other lesbo. At least this allowed Frida to be more than just a chill girl.
Well I watched the first one and it might be the worst episode of the series. Of course Abe needs to apologize to Joan to be seen as emotionally intelligent, fucking gag
If it wasn’t funny the first time, it’s worse every other time. I regret NOT muting, especially since I knew they couldn’t help themselves to do it 3 separate times. Weird social commentary projecting aside, it was just stupid (and not the good kind.)
What did they do to my Cleo. Why is she suddenly buddy buddy which everyone, why hasn’t the show brought up the fact that Cleo and Abe were a thing, Where is my slutty overdramatic Cleo?
They use her in white guy confidence B-plot when she was the fucking Queen Bee in the original and is still popular as long as she's not being cancelled by Joan, why the fuck would she need white guy confidence specially coming from Abe who suddenly got Gandhi's personality out of nowhere when he was actually very insecure in the original. Worst parte is that they could've used JFK for that plot but he's a "himbo" according to the fandom and they hate Abe so time to make him the asshole
What? No, there's a 4 and a half hour video on YouTube with the entre season 1 still, I watched It all this sunday and It still shows up in my recommendeds
Yeah, can't you get a free VPN or whatever
This is the video btw
Why was white guy confidence about Abe and not JFK?
Because JFK is the likeable himbo now, that's also why he cared about not cheating on Joan while the original JFK used to sleep around with different women all the time

How the fuck is JFK a himbo
Anonymous
Said it earlier anon
They modified him to appeal to the himbo trend.
The important thing to note about the himbo fandom is that usually the characters who are labeled himbos have that whole "canon vs fanon" thing.
Joseph Joestar, for instance, has never been particularly stupid with his greatest strength being his cunning, he's also a known adulterer, but has still somehow matched the description of "kind, dumb, buff boi".
If they brought JFK back as he was originally written, it would break the illusion with their fanon thrown out the window
Himbo crowd literally don't know what they like. It's basically "I'm into jocks" but in complete denial because of some weird perceived shame in liking traditionally masculine characters

You need three things to be a himbo. >dumb >hot >kind
JFK was already dumb and hot, but the new season made him unusually kind to the new clones to appease the Tiktok kiddies. Yeah, he's a himbo now.

>but the new season made him unusually kind to the new clones
What Joan pussy does to a mf
>the only genuinely entertaining character from the new cast >only one they shit on, which means giving him quirks similar to the og show/cast. >writers go out of their way to make him say really overtly racist/sexist things. >but not in the way the original would, it’s so the show can tell you what things aren’t “ok” like satire can’t exist.
Fuck, man
THANK YOU. I love Topher, but the writers try way too hard to make him “unlikable” when the whole point of the original season was that the whole cast was nothing but obnoxious teen sitcom tropes made cartoonishly entertaining.
Topher’s a solid character suffering from unfunny, forced writing half of the time.
>tons of side characters from the first season showing up without zero speaking roles whatsoever
Genghis Khan just nods at Joan once but that's all I can think of. It's off-putting.
They've been making them speak lately. Marie Antoinette and one of the Bronte Sisters got to talk and Van Gogh, Genghis and Catherine the Great got new voice actors. George Washington Carver gets recurring speaking roles too, more than the other original clones. Kind of odd that Caesar hasn't talked yet though. He was one of the most prominent background characters from season 1, he even shows up in the original intro twice.
I just wish they’d show him derail Abe a couple of times throughout the season as his false friend. It feels very sudden for him to give a shit about Joan and Abe’s love life.
>you're supposed to unironically like JFK and dislike Abe in nuClone High
I feel like there might be some kind of agenda here but I'll wait and see where the writers go with this.
A cover of the rave song that the doctor and robot guy cooked up halfway into the episode. The lady on the stage even says so before she begins singing.
There are only 2 episodes left before the season ends and they still haven't brought up Abe and Cleo's breakup or whatever was going on between Sacagawea and Van Gogh in the intro
Everytime I try watching this I go midway through the episode and click out almost immediately
I can't stand the writing idk how you guys like this shit
i made it to the musical episode and then i just couldnt watch anymore. all the characters feel wrong, and the show itself is basically just every other annoying "adult" cartoon comedy. scudworth and the robot butler are still funny, but the lack of Gandhi kills it for me. the writing is just not there most of the time, idk what else to say
The clones are all too nice to each other in general. Topher stands out because he’s the only clone that’s been antagonistic in any way at all this season.
How would you guys like it if Clone High was an anthology series with season 2 focusing entirely on new characters and leaving everyone from the old cast behind? Assuming it was actually well written, do you think it would be better or worse than what we got?
With so many people apparently unironically invested in the drama of the show, I feel like that could be a good idea of executed correctly. Kind of like Degrassi. Keep Scudworth and Mr B as the only constants and then have a graduating class leave and freshman class introduced every season. Endless potential... though I also feel the wrong writers could botch it beyond recovery if they aren't careful. Maybe attach writing staffs with the actual clone classes (so 4 IRL staffs writing and working together at a time, weaving their plotlines together so that there are stories across each clone class). Then also maybe make each season like 20-26 episodes instead of 10-13 to avoid script overload?
I would like the new cast more if they had a chance to develop. Season 2 honestly feels like two different ideas for the reboot that got lumped together. Trying to work as a continuation from the original series while also setting up an entirely new cast. Doubling the total of characters doesn’t do it any favours, would make them feel less shallow.
Honestly i kinda wish they'd done this? The confucious-harriet stuff was very cute, Harriet probably does have a fun comedic angle of being an intensely driven person whose best friends are intensely chill, and confucious's bits have given me a little chuckle, but it's all super crammed

I don't know about this one, scudworth trying to bang the chick from the board of shadowy figures is a fun bit
>The #CLONEHIGH cast. They evolved during development. The old clones got subtle adjustments. No changes on JFK. Showrunners wanted the new clones to contrast w/the old clones earth tones & give a bit more volumetric shape language/detail to alienate the old clones throughout s2&3
So the old and new designs were really supposed to not look alike. JFK has a perfect design, and they always use him for size reference on model sheets.
The big reveal in next week's finale is going to be a cliffhanger that implies he wasnt frozen as long as everyone else, that he's been an adult working on the board of shadowy figures, and that he's been in full control of the reboot's plot to appease Indians in India (who he hates for not being able to handle bantz).
The idea is that the twist reveal will make younger Indians demand his return to the show, which leads to the S3 gotcha moment of Shadow Ghandi actually inserting a clone of Gary Coleman in his place.
According to Google...
Abe: Yes
Joan: Likely
JFK: Yes
Cleo: Nah, she'd likely be shorter than Joan
Confucius: Records vary a lot, but the more realistic ones say yes
Harriet: Without the hair, yes
Topher: No, he's depicted as a manlet for teh funneez
Frida: A little bit shorter
There's a bunch account that claim him to be like nine feet tall, so those old Chinese bastards were clearly bullshitting, hence the use of the "realistic" estimate.
God it's insane how Topher has the same earthy colors the old gang has, aside from maybe the pants. He really is the only new character that fits the old style well.
I find it hilarious how everybody loves to laugh at Topher being an incel, and doing these incel practices, but then everybody is just swooning over the Confucious-Harriet stuff, only because Harriet likes Confucious back does it become okay that he's catfishing her. The fandom is basically this picture right now.
Bro tried catfishing a girl and it's just swept under the rug as okay lol look how cute they are together kek
Found this redesign out in the wild, arrogant Twitter artist of course. I understand not liking the design but you missed the point. Candide's not supposed to look normal, the weird body and similiarity to a reptile is intentional.
Most of the redesigns of the S2 characters are literally "lets make them more boring". Like, I get a lot of them are trying to make them fit with the "aesthetics" of season 1 but most of them are just boring and more bland version that look way more bland than most S1 background characters.
Feels bad. Her and Gandhi were pretty cute together and it could give Gandhi some character development considering his stitch was trying to score and failing miserably
Here is my conspiracy theory
People say frida is supposed to be the new ghandi
And it makes sense that the writers wanted to use ghandi because they have a severe case of I made this and narcissism and the executives said no
I think ghandi would have actually been Topher and they wanted to make him a bad guy as the one who actually reacted badly to all the new shit around
I dont understand why they needed so many new characters when Confucious is clearly the Gandhi replacement. Columbus and Confucious would have been fine, MAYBE one other.
Even then i dont really gel at all with the tiktok shit so as a character im completely lost on that gimmick
I'm not so sure, but I think the joke is that he's supposed to be an "influencer". I don't think they ever explained what his and Harriet's gimmicks are.
Sidelined like Abe and Cleo as to avoid anything that could be controversial but kept to appease fans.
The dynamic of the entire cast would be balanced again so they probably wouldn't need 4 new characters and they'd just add 2 max instead. However this won't magically make the writing funnier so anything that Gandhi does would fall flat like the rest of the season.
>bring Cleo back as a loser who's no longer popular >have no idea what to do with her >introduce Frida as the cool girl who has an answer for everything >have no idea what to do with her >make them Lumity 2.0
These can't get any lamer
[...]

Ehhh maybe I can see Gandhi getting little to no lines like Cleo did early on, he probably wouldn't interact with any of cast either beyond a snappy one liner, just taking up space. I feel that they'd still add a character to make up for it.
It's weird how capnose guy appeared once as an actor on Abe's film but in S2 they made him a regular background character but I don't think he's even based on any historical figure
So the synopsis for episode 10 mentions the clones getting ready for clone college. Do you think we'll see the wormhole? Could be interesting if they actually get sent all the way back to 2002.
>Do you think we'll see the wormhole? Could be interesting if they actually get sent all the way back to 2002.
Where did you get this from? If it's one of these ideas that Lord and Miller had a long time ago we probably won't.
Yea, one of the old interviews, I think from 2011 or something. They said their plan for season 4 was to have them go back in time through a wormhole and repeat senior year.
Season 2 annoys me because 60% of the episode is pretty good and will get laughs out of me but then there will be some joke that doesn't land and drags on for longer than it needs to and I just want to contort. especially with a lot of the zoomer humor
This. THere's several episodes that nearly parallel the quality of the original season, but there's always some lame reference or some cringy political shpiel shoved in, or some ridiculous drama that no one fucking cares about. It's annoying.
Yeah, if it were actual zoomer humor it'd be surrealist ironic nonsense ...which is more in line with the spirit of the original show now that I think about it.
Is this real
Gary Coleman is BACK baby
A zombie episode and a breakup.
i hope joan and abe fuk
and then abe is disappointed but still considers joan a friend
and joan also decides it was lame, but secretly LOVED jumping his 8-inch abe and has once again become hopelessly infatuated with him again
I hope Joan and Cleo make out
I hope someone builds a wall around California and sets it on fire
I don't remember typing this, also it's already always setting itself on fire anyway
Holy shit is Ghandi actually there holy shit!
s2 sucks
no it doesnt, u suck
true
s1 mediocre
you are mistaken, you must have it confused with your mother!
wrong, my mom sucks at blowjobs!
Does anyone else feel like this show feels more like Big Mouth at this point than Clone High? The anxiety episode especially felt like it to me.
It's because the show is taking itself seriously now instead of just being a parody. This along with character assassination of the entire original cast makes season 2 feel like a lifeless corpse.
In what way is the show taking itself seriously? You can argue that it feels different from season 1 but it undeniably is not taking itself seriously. Joan almost died from “silly legs” in the last episode
this retard keeps coping and seething when someone doesn't like his fucking shit show
season 2 is the biggest monkey paw of my life
I would say it's not taking it's self too seriously and more meandering.
I see where you're coming from, but weirdly enough that was one of the few episodes from this seadon that I actually mostly liked
maybe just because there were enough good throwaway gags (topher and the possum, JFK and confucius leaving the gymnasium for the woodshop, etc.) that landed without being buzzkilled by the main plot
joanfk breakup incoming
who’s excited
what's the hat he's supposed to be wearing?
It's a tuque
>yfw they make Aleister Crowley Joan's new love interest
The problem with the new season is that the characters are taken too seriously, instead of being dumb cartoon characters.
No one will invent the knork, or think littering is cool, or have their car spontaneously flip over
don't care, get woke go broke
S2 is proof that all the writers in the writers strike 100% deserve to be without jobs.
None of these hacks can write worth shit, as self-evidenced by their cornball picket signs.
Yes, all the writers in the strike, including the ones who didn't write these episodes. That makes total sense, you brainlet.
Everything coming out of LA is fucking trash, this show is merely one symptom of an overarching disease called "MODERN DAY WRITERS".
Bump
new episode in 30 minutes or so

idk what u guys talking 'bout, the site is working for me
it’s up
>abe has to be the one to apologize
?????
these writers fucking retarded?
They literally showed why in the recap
jfk literally cheated on her and she forgave him
A single kiss is not cheating
they made out. and it was with her best friend.
her best friend was abe
okay timmy, back to bed with you
yes it is you stupid fuck
if your girlfriend kissed another guy would you consider that cheating?
>woman logic
only if the man does it
If a woman does it thats the equivalent of them fucking the whole football team
that's the joke
Do incels really think kissing is cheating?
How is kissing not cheating?
The whole point of that desert episode was that Abe was in the right. He apologized anyway because maintaining a relationship was more important than the moral high ground.
Huh, ep 7 was actually somewhat enjoyable. I still think this show is juggling too many characters though.
>they’re still trying to make joan x abe a thing
really??
>the sax version of the theme
oh HELL yes
the saxual episode is the funniest one yet imo
Sexy Ed was so far the closest thing that felt like the original season so I guess better late than never.
It's kinda funny how the only people who watch/ are hype about more clone high episodes aren't fans of the original at all, because if they were they wouldn't enjoy seeing it puppetted around weekend at bernie's style.
it's mostly zoomers who saw clips of the show through tiktok memes
Cleo and Frida are gonna be a lesbian couple. screencap
It's pretty obvious at this point
>Verification not required
lmao i posted that on the seventh episode then 8 happened
Episode 7 is the first one that really felt like the original show
joanfk sisters… here’s how we can still win

Cool thanks anon
So is Cleo lesbo now?
Yeah, she was the one initiating the relationship while Frida was nervous.
I think the new season is alright, but I miss the tone of the original where it was a complete satire of every high school romance trope. That parody There were so many moments of characters acting dramatic over stupid shit that was so funny to me. This new one expects me to actually care about these relationships and the humor is not mocking the teenage angst, which is more in line with what adult animated sitcoms usually do.
to be fair she thought almost kissing Joan in the original was hot
>it was a complete satire of every high school romance trope
The problem is that high school tv shows are rarer these days, that well has dried up.
That doesn't mean they still can't parody them or use a similar format, they have decades worth of media to take inspiration from and reference.
>Now
>tfw I watched on wco first because I didn't want to get spoilered in the thread and now I saw them in the wrong order
Same thing happened to me. Somehow I thought the previously on Clone High segment was a fake one or something.
Is that site still usable? I thought they started charging money to watch it?
I think Clone High S2 is finally starting to find its footing. The gags feel stronger, the parodies read clearer, and it feels like every character's got SOMETHING to do now. Feels good ngl
Also Sacagawea has always been best girl
Yeah, the last two episodes (spring break one in particular) were the first that felt like the original series in terms of the writing. The characters were in-character but still playful, and the jokes had good pacing and were actually funny (for the most part). I really hope they realize this, figure out whatever it was in the production process that led to it, and keep doing it.
Man, go fuck yourself. I wasted 45 minutes watching those episodes foolishly thinking that they really, truly turned things around, only to be met with more mediocre garbage.
Sorry. I thought it was better. My reaction wasn't unique either. Even Spilling the Milk thought they were turning it around.
Fujos already having a meltdown over this episode
Why fujos? I've never seen any gay male ship fanart
NTA, but I've seen a reasonable amount of Abe x Topher fanart. I thought episode 2 already made it obvious that he's an asshole lol
post it
topher revealing he has a crush on joan and saying he can’t resist a white woman probably made me laugh the hardest. what a loser.
Kek this person's full out meltdown over a ship that is built upon basically two interactions is a sight to behold
also because Topher sets Abe up to get molested by a teacher. Kind of a good bomb to drop on kids who cry over fictional characters and ships n what not.
>Spoiler
Thats great! I want art of topher with the female characters so I can self insert as them.
i’ll be honest the crush came outta nowhere and insincere i don’t know what this lil nigga has planned
i don’t think he’s gay for abe either like the fujos say
Ask and you shall receive.

Not even the anon who requested that but it's really good
Why’s this character so popular
Post 2020, people can easily relate to a terminally online incel.
Pathetic assholes are hot
I don't know about the sex drawing but he actually has a defined character, him rebranding his name is a legit funny concept and adds something to the group dynamic rather than "cool girl" or "theatre girl"
He's a woke straight male ally, y'know.
>why is the only good new character popular
He's the only character who's entirely played for laughs with no attempt of making him mean anything beyond that. AKA the only one who would fit in the original season.
the writers are unafraid to have him be a jackass, which is what made the season 1 characters so well-loved
he's funny
He encapsulates Cinemaphilemblr perfectyl
yo that looks very nice, where can I follow your art?
Sorry anon, I don't have a blog for nsfw stuff these days.
dang, you artstyle looks really nice tho
I'd like to see your sfw art too
VERY cute!
He's a sympathetic character because it seems like he was traumatized by his upbringing and who his clone original was, so he overcompensates. I'm hoping he gets a redemption arc.
me on the right
a'ight
I'd suck it
Topher's lecherous Italian ways can't be stopped
I thought the joke was the Topher was gay for Abe
I'm waiting for that to be the true reason he doesn't want Abe to confess to Joan, and then it's solved by Abe, Joan, and Topher taking part in a 169
Your a loser with a very small amount of friends......ZERO.
Abe is redeemed because JoanFK is so fucking terrible.
hopefully harriet is relegated to the background now that she’s paired up with confucius
Lame, Frida has very little characterization at this point and Cleo has almost none for an s1 character I don't see how it'll work, not even for laughs.
>she’s paired up with confucius
I know it was hinted like with the other characters but it also made me realize how little interactions the characters have with each other.
Joan and JFK sponged up tons of screentime this season, somehow using all of this time to create very little buildup to even more nothing.
Would it even work if they took up less screentime? There's some serious cast bloat this season I feel that one way or another you'd still have characters underutilized and undeveloped. Even the main og cast( of all things.
reminder that season 3 is confirmed and Gandhi is still not in it
We know, Lord and Miller already said Gandhi would only return in Season 4.
>Lord and Miller already said Gandhi would only return in Season 4.
did they?
All I remember is that gandhi is not on season 3 because they didn't want the show cancelled. Never seen they confirming that
>did they?
https://tvline.com/interviews/clone-high-reboot-gandhi-absence-explained-why-frozen-1234990378/
>"He’s still there, able to thaw out if there’s a Season 4"
It oddly makes sense, Confucius is gen z Abe-lite but rich, he's probably a virgin like Abe too.
I'm noticing the tiktok crowd are now mad because JFK is acting like he did in the original season
>that the characters we are supposed to hate like Topher
???
WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL SHADOW FIGURE? I FUCKING HATE THESE QUIRKY homosexualS
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Also here's the song they played near the end of Episode 8
>MrsMommaFucius: Confucius, son, I'm taking your sister and the rest of the family to Bail for 2 weeks.
>MrsMommaFucius: We would take you but we'd rather have fun. You understand.
>MrsMommaFucius: I left you the credit card in the Microwave for dinner.
>MrsMommaFucius: Whatever you do, don't get lost in the desert because we won't be around to care at all.
Damn... doing my dude dirty like dat...
So clone high became a soap opera?
It was always supposed to be a parody of 90s/2000s teen dramas
A fast-paced satire of 2000s teen reality shows, not an open celebration of gay-ass love triangles. S1 is funny, S2 is plodding and annoying.
How much more tolerable would this season be for you if everything was the same but they stuck with using a ton of early 2000s music?
Wait they stopped doing that?
There's a few angsty guitar chords thrown in here and there, but it's mostly new generic pop and rap music instead. Even in the good episodes, it throws me off every time.
>but it's mostly new generic pop and rap music
Yeah. If you've every had the displeasure of seeing an episode of your average modern teen drama show, or those dumb dime-a-dozen millennial comedies you find on streaming networks, it's that kind of music.
I usually have to skip through a scene when it appears.
>it's mostly new generic pop and rap music instead
well yeah, that's what teen shows are using now
The show isn't parodying teen dramas anymore though
CLEOFRIDA CHADS
WE WIN
>Episode 7
>17:31
>that fucking new Ghenghis Khan VA
Fucking disgusting.
i had to pause the ep for a second
episode 8 ahs a pro lgbtq+ song btw, you gonna love it
They really needed to recast him so he could say only "I'll do my thing", y'know.
Yes, it was confirmed three years ago.
How does it keep getting worse every fucking episode
idk the episodes premises are fine but the new writers are ass. Maybe I am just out of touch
Cleo is too woman for Frida. The only puss Frida get is another equally average and hairy butch
i would have preferred if confusions found a way to impress cleo so she would be with him instead.
>confusions
Dude.
confucius*
You know what i fucking meant
You could say he was a little...
Your a loser, Carlos.
You used the possessive "YOUR" you idiot. It's 'RE!
NOOOOOOOOOOO
Confused
i had enough of your shit, carlos
That’s why I like the dynamic. It’s like Roger and Jessica rabbit.
Poetic justice would be Abe hooking up with the female equivalent of JFK at the end of the season after Joan decides to give him a chance
would be hilarious if they somehow end up getting frozen again in the exact same scenario but with the genders filpped
Honestly while i really wanted joan and abe to get together, topher being the villain right now feels right, i quite like it.
Sacagawea and carver need to be main cast right now really like that they may be a couple now and Harriet and Confucius feels right.
>"Clone High," with season two currently in production for a 2024 debut
https://press.wbd.com/us/media-release/max/max-reveals-preview-its-originals-adult-animation-slate-annecy-international
If they renew the show right now, I think they can release season 4 in 2025 just fine.
With the way they set up reboot what more could they even do with the high school setting and another season? Other than clone college ofc.
>inb4 Season 4 Clone College
>inb4 Ghandi thaws and doesn't get into College and becomes a truck driver in his own b plot
>inb4 we will never get Ghandi trucking kino adventures
They said they wanted to add Ghandi once they make enough content. He was the reason the show got canceled so they didn't want to risk another 1 season show just because the Indians get upset.
I assume any season they bring him back will be the last because I doubt that crowd has learned to calm down after all these years.
>They said they wanted to add Ghandi once they make enough content.
"We'll consider bringing him back if you support us enough to get more seasons" stinks like a scam.
Honestly don't fucking want Ghandi back. At least not with these incompetent writers.
>Gandhi gets thawed to justify a clip show episode
>Gets frozen again at the end
ah yes clone college all Cinemaphile threads lead to the spider-verse, was having the clones in college the original idea for this season?
The original idea back in the day was for each season to be another year of high school, with season 5 being Clone College.
I'm currently watching the desert episode and holy shit, this is getting worse and worse.
I've personally been enjoying most of the season. I admit it's not as consistently funny, but it still has the overall vibe of the original show.
>We always thought that Abe was the hero in it and he was our POV guy and we loved him, and people don’t. People hate Abe and think he’s such a turd. Chris and Phil were like, “We need more Abe stories,” and I was trying to say, “A lot of these young writers don’t want to hear from Abe ever again.” Even though at the time we thought Abe was our way in, I think it was really Joan.
https://www.vulture.com/article/an-oral-history-of-clone-high.html
This shit is definitely NOT what Lord and Miller wanted for a second season, and I still don't like the vibe of it. If season 3 turns out to be a mess like season 2 (which is very likely since they were all produced from the same initial order), then if anything, Gandhi was spared.
>people don’t. People hate Abe and think he’s such a turd.
It was always weird to me that people gave Abe so much shit for how he acted in season 1. He’s not obligated to reciprocate her feelings yet people criticized him because he didn’t.
>A lot of these young writers don’t want to hear from Abe ever again
Soulless young writers mentally unable to properly reboot a series yet again.
That's an issue with a lot of fiction in general, where people think a woman having a crush means that she's OWED a relationship because of it. It's one of the main things that irked me about Helga from Hey Arnold.
Weird they say that since they still got what they wanted with Abe.
That was pretty much everyone's impression, yet you can pretty much tell he was retconned in order to appeal to the tiktok fandom
true, a white straight male being popular makes no sense
They modified him to appeal to the himbo trend.
The important thing to note about the himbo fandom is that usually the characters who are labeled himbos have that whole "canon vs fanon" thing.
Joseph Joestar, for instance, has never been particularly stupid with his greatest strength being his cunning, he's also a known adulterer, but has still somehow matched the description of "kind, dumb, buff boi".
If they brought JFK back as he was originally written, it would break the illusion with their fanon thrown out the window
JFK is different from an example like Joseph, because he is meant to be dumb. The problem with the new season is that that's pretty much his only trait now, since the whole "jock high school bully" thing isn't as popular anymore.
>since the whole "jock high school bully" thing isn't as popular anymore.
girls (and Cinemaphile, weirdly enough) literally wet their panties over nate jacobs in euphoria and he’s a jock psychopath. i thought clone high would parody him but i guess not.
Don't watch Euphoria, but I feel like fans of it aren't the most well-adjusted people.
People who watch Euphoria are usually psychos irl.
>euphoria
My female landlord loves that show!
God forbid a show has even a slight amount of subtlety to its writing.
What the fuck are you talking about? S1 Abe would try to help people unwantedly but he would never demand good things to happen to him. The joke is that he's oblivious but genuinely nice like the characters he's supposed to parody but taken to a cartoonish extreme
I mean, Asia is where you go when you want to find freakishly tall people weirdly enough
>the joke is that he's oblivious but genuinely nice
You just know that if the writers end up noticing Topher's popularity they'll just end up ruining him in the next season while trying to pander to the fandom
>picrel
I fucking hate you.
It feels like young people don't appreciate lighthearted comedy nowadays, everything's gotta have drama and serious emotion (or be le soft and wholesome which is just annoying)
>but he always dismissed his friend and rarely took her seriously
Half naiveté, half intentional humor
>He also had this complex of being a problem solver who has a big heart when he only ended up making things worse
That's literally his character arc. He wants to be a good leader like clone father.
>and he was a pretty pathetic simp for Cleo
Again, humor. Why is this so hard to understand? Why are people trying to bring Abe down for being a silly character in a silly show?!
This. The Tiktok fandom ruined perception of the show.
Cute!
God I love fujoshi.
This is actually a pretty funny image
I'm obsessed with this person's fanart. It's supposed to be ironic but it's under so many layers of irony it circles back to being sincere.
The straight white male joke was funny.
Yeah, pretty much
America was founded by Puritans who left the UK for not being conservative enough, anon. Is it any wonder that this is the kind of shit they would have as a legacy?
USA was founded as the land of freedom...
.... religious freedom, then Europe spits to America every fruit from christian orchard. That's how you get murricans.
In America it's the parents job to teach their kids about sex.
Results may vary
>Lesbians again
>Never gay men
WHY?
Im ok with frida being a lesbian, but now that i think about it where's the diego rivera clone? Frida and diego had so much fucking drama in their lives that it feels like it's something that could work for clone high
still crying over what the Trotsky clone did to their relationship
Who do you think the gay characters should be?
JFK's dads
I wanted JFK and Confucius to hook up
Confucius is not hot enough like John Dark to make JFK question his sexuality.
Shit anon me too! I wanted them to hook up as final canon couple, so I'll wait for later seasons. The later the better since as they use tropes they will follow how teen dramas never seem to stay with a healthy couple for more than one season before breaking them up
Oscar Wilde
Rod Hudson
They're both bisexuals, and homophobes hate gay men more than they do lesbians or bisexual women
I can't believe abe was so close to dating joan,he has been an irrelevant retard for the entire season while JFK has done everything right, i know this show isn't trying to make any sort of sense but the JoanFK break up feels so forced to give abe a chance
The seamen joke was funny.
I was almost amused until mr b stuck his head out looked at the audience and said apologies because all modern comedy has to be self aware
Who is the cute blue hair background girl?
So I just wanna bring up something? I thought they said they were moving past 2000s humor..
>The B plot is that Abe gets statutorily raped by a cougar under the influence of an aphrodisiac and the joke is funny because she's an old ugly woman trying to be sexy
>She promptly falls over and dies like a withered old husk after Abe rejects her because her body count is too high
>Abe is then blackmailed by a self-righteous PC "nice guy" in an overcomedic fashion so that he doesn't get the girl
>The B plot is that Abe gets statutorily raped by a cougar under the influence of an aphrodisiac and the joke is funny because she's an old ugly woman trying to be sexy
>She promptly falls over and dies like a withered old husk after Abe rejects her because her body count is too high
But it's still the same humor, and what you're left with is an old woman trying to seduce Abe in what can only be called a pretty fucking uncomfortable scene.
just imagine if the creators actually went with the Gandhi being Gary Coleman plotline and had him went through a similar scene like Abe?
bruh why does Topher like Joan they haven't even interacted
>bruh why does Topher like Joan they
She's white and not ugly
thats just how incels are, ive had a crush on a girl i met once 5 years ago for five years now, i like all her online posts and stalk her habitually
I shop it.
Frida is too much of a Mary sue for me to ship it
>Frida is too much of a Mary sue
you have no idea what this word means
Only on episode 5 so no karate yet like someone mentioned. But that's my problem with Frida is that she has no character flaws. She's mentioned something unhygienic but harmless earlier. But overall Frida has never made a mistake or the slightest faux pas.
Here's hoping she gets a huge ego from some critic complementing her graffiti episode.
here's a spoiler if you really wanna know one of frida's flaws, read at your own discretion
she gets SUPER nervous around people
girls she likes, like when cleo starts hitting on her she cannot bring herself to respond properly and runs awayout of nervousness
Wow, what a character flaw. I take it all back, she is not a Mary Sue at all...
Frida and Harriet are definitely writer's pets if not just poorly written.
The problem is the core joke she's really designed with is "Chill and friendly juxtapose to the stereotypical 'bully' cool kids we saw in the original."
At the bare minimum, the "character development" in the finale that people keep talking about was imaginary.
incredible how not being a shit is seen as a detriment.
Lipstick gag made me laugh, felt like classic Clone High
Yaoi lost but yuri won
Waiting for the reveal that Cleo is just hooking up with Frida so she can be popular again
That's what I immediately thought her motive was
It'd be pretty ooc for her to be genuinely interested in her outside of a "you stole my popularity, bitch" kinda thing
If it isn't this the whole relationship will be about being the popular power couple which means Frida will doubt the legitimacy of the relationship
https://twitter.com/pomssum/status/1669278843465793537
>replies and QRTs
yeah this is just a regular teen show now
implying it will last for more than two episodes
Imagine the fallout
This makes me wonder, what did all the writers that they brought back between the first season and now?
about 4 of them:Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Erica Rivinoja and Judah Miller
So I got the list
>Showrunner Rivinoja worked on original, wrote for South Park from 2001-2012 and wrote Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2 and Addams Family 2019
>Episode 2 writer is literal no name except for a few episodes of Silicon Valley
>Episode 3 writers wrote the direct to DVD Beverly Hills Chihuahua sequel
>Episode 4, Miller, has done well for himself with stuff like American Dad but feels like a shadow of his old shows
>Episode 5 guy? Zombie Simpsons and Last Man On Earth.
>Episode 6 wrote for Chicago Party Aunt.
>Episode 7 wrote for Awkwafina is Nora from Queens.
>Episode 8 wrote something called Lycanphobic which I'm gonna assume is about wanting to fuck a werewolf
This is our writing crew thus far, boys
I heard that the 2nd episode writer also worked on close enough for 11 episodes
Okay yeah I missed that, but I'm noticing something.
All these people mostly made stuff geared towards millennials with a show geared towards gen Z.
>Awkwafina is Nora from Queens
the clumsy title of this show always made me avoidant of it.
>wrote something called Lycanphobic which I'm gonna assume is about wanting to fuck a werewolf
Nah that would be 'Lycanphilic' 'phobic' means fear, it's 'philic' which means love.
>Lycanphobic
>2018
>13m
>Lycanphobic (2018)
>A young woman's lover reveals to her that he is a werewolf, sending her into a spiral as she tries to figure out what sexual fidelity means to a man who can have sex with people and dogs
You were saying, anon?
THIS POSTER WAS FORESHADOWING THIS WHOLE TIME
>Frida looking at (you)
She hasn't had a sex positive threesome with me and Harriet yet, so....
I didn't like any of the previous eps, will I like these 2?
if you're invested in the characters, no, but if you're in it for comedy, yes. these are probably the funniest two episodes out of the lot, but the bar's pretty low.
IT WAS FORETOLD
I can't believe Frida impregnated Topher
So abe isn't the mc anymore because zoomer writers don't like him?
pretty much
That was the point fucking hell zoomers are dumb
I don't mind the shift in pov to Joan since they seem to be doing a reversal of roles from the first season. Still Abe is pretty consistent writing wise, and I think he works the best when he's working off of Topher, where his "everyman" shtick can shine. Cleo has only just recently gotten focus in the last two episode to pair her up with Frida.
Haven't watched the new season at all
Does this guy appear in any meaningful way?
Yes, I think he avoided Andy Dick by being a token mental health awareness character but his cameos all suck
>minor characters from season one
>appearing in any meaningful way
Ghenghis Khan got his first line in the season in episode 7. One line. He was recast.
>minor characters remain minor characters
Did ghengis even have a single line beyond the "yes" "no" bit with buying beer?
>Piñata
>I am 21
>Ok, I sing now.
WAAAAAAHHH
A boo boo boo boo
he gets run over by a parade float
why did Lord and Miller decided to allow it this way(even as the producers)?
Because they just wanted clone high revived to prove they could.
Flustered Frida was cute but it sucked they changed Cleo's character so much to be her girlfriend
"becoming" a lesbian is a quick way for teens to gain popularity
Topher is ugly and smelly. Confucius is best boy. I don't get people.
Also man this new season really isn't funny but I can't stop watching it.
Topher has a comedic angle. Confucius, Frida, and Harriet do not. That's really what it all comes down to with the way the new characters have been received.
frida funny when she do karate now
I'd argue Confucius is funny, not as funny as Topher, but he's leagues above Frida and Harriet
Confucius and Frida have comedic angles. Harriet doesn't.
Did you heard Catherine the Great voice at the end of episode 8? They changed her voice. She used to have a deep raspy one and now she sounds just like a regular girl.
yeah cuz she was voiced by a dude in season 1
>Voiced by Murray Miller
You just know they had to recast her.
that was the hottest thing about her, like dr girlfriend
I never really thought about it, but yeah, that is kinda why I find them hot.
Is that gay? I mean, I don't care because I swing both ways, but I'd like to know.
no, but you are a homosexual. homosexual.
Man, there's a glitch on Episode 8 where the audio description track is playing even though I have English selected. Anyone else having this problem?
Me too man, the episode was awful to watch because of it.
Max moment
Why must they taunt us with Gandhi in the intro every time?
They're just testing to see if it's okay to at least mention him or show him frozen. At this point, I don't want him to come back anymore.
>At this point, I don't want him to come back anymore.
Yeah
Knowing that if he came back, he wouldn't be voiced by Michael McDonald, makes me want them to just forget about him completely despite how much the show needed him
Also, I don't think he would be as funny as before, and unless they retire the new clones, there are going to be yet more characters in the cast, including Gandhi and the character they're planning to have McDonald voice (see
)
>At this point, I don't want him to come back anymore.
We've definitely been monkey pawed here.
With that said, if he was still there at least one person would still be acting like a cartoon character you know, if the writers knew what they were doing.
Who's "we", retard? Everyone knew this was going to be shit from the get go. Nobody was asking for this in today's age
what does it mean?
your a fag
>Your
FUCK YOU
>Satanic trips
Okay, just calm down, man.
You win! I concede.
So what the fuck, clone high season 2 episode 8 still has the audio from the story board audio?
Explain
JFK humps a casket
was wondering when someone was gonna point this out.
I think it was supposed to be an ongoing joke, but it wasn’t funny
Cleo has been fruity since season 1 with her comment about sleeping with Joan being hot
Well I watched the first one and it might be the worst episode of the series. Of course Abe needs to apologize to Joan to be seen as emotionally intelligent, fucking gag
Ok, I was liking this sex ed episode until that retarded forced song
Same I had to mute it
christ, you people are such fucking nancies
If it wasn’t funny the first time, it’s worse every other time. I regret NOT muting, especially since I knew they couldn’t help themselves to do it 3 separate times. Weird social commentary projecting aside, it was just stupid (and not the good kind.)
seamen song was funny until they turned it into fag whining
not this
actually that
What did they do to my Cleo. Why is she suddenly buddy buddy which everyone, why hasn’t the show brought up the fact that Cleo and Abe were a thing, Where is my slutty overdramatic Cleo?
Your Cleo is DEAD
They killed her bro..
she died the moment she forgot about abe rejecting her
They use her in white guy confidence B-plot when she was the fucking Queen Bee in the original and is still popular as long as she's not being cancelled by Joan, why the fuck would she need white guy confidence specially coming from Abe who suddenly got Gandhi's personality out of nowhere when he was actually very insecure in the original. Worst parte is that they could've used JFK for that plot but he's a "himbo" according to the fandom and they hate Abe so time to make him the asshole
What? It's Just good old Thomas
Did you draw that btw?
>did you draw that btw?
Nah, I just saw in on Tumblr years ago. Had to Google search it to dig it back up.
Anon, the full series is on Youtube for you to download at your leisure.
>Anon, the full series is on Youtube for you to download at your leisure.
no it’s not they took that shit down months ago when season 2 leaked
Oh. Well, it's a good thing I downloaded it years ago then, huh, slowpoke?
What? No, there's a 4 and a half hour video on YouTube with the entre season 1 still, I watched It all this sunday and It still shows up in my recommendeds
are you outside the United States?
Yeah, can't you get a free VPN or whatever
This is the video btw
Because JFK is the likeable himbo now, that's also why he cared about not cheating on Joan while the original JFK used to sleep around with different women all the time
How the fuck is JFK a himbo
Said it earlier anon
Himbo crowd literally don't know what they like. It's basically "I'm into jocks" but in complete denial because of some weird perceived shame in liking traditionally masculine characters
As if I'm going to read through the whole thread
A dumb guy into sex is not a himbo
You need three things to be a himbo.
>dumb
>hot
>kind
JFK was already dumb and hot, but the new season made him unusually kind to the new clones to appease the Tiktok kiddies. Yeah, he's a himbo now.
>but the new season made him unusually kind to the new clones
What Joan pussy does to a mf
Also, Joan literally called him a himbo once.
>the only genuinely entertaining character from the new cast
>only one they shit on, which means giving him quirks similar to the og show/cast.
>writers go out of their way to make him say really overtly racist/sexist things.
>but not in the way the original would, it’s so the show can tell you what things aren’t “ok” like satire can’t exist.
Fuck, man
Topherbros...
This #notmycleo
THANK YOU. I love Topher, but the writers try way too hard to make him “unlikable” when the whole point of the original season was that the whole cast was nothing but obnoxious teen sitcom tropes made cartoonishly entertaining.
Topher’s a solid character suffering from unfunny, forced writing half of the time.
He was honestly only really good in this episode but at least he's still adorable in others, damn these writers can't even get their own oc right
Anyone have a mega of the original series? I saw it was on Max but I was disappointed to see it was only the new series.
nvm i found on tbharchive
S1 is on Max. It just has its own page.
Spring Broken was pretty nice.
Wait is that the episode name for the one they are trapped in the desert?
The new board of shadowy figures fucking sucks.
yeah
i can't picture these new group pulling a
>"Assembled students of Clone High: your collective asses now belong to US."
How did they manage to fuck Cleo up so bad?
>tons of side characters from the first season showing up without zero speaking roles whatsoever
Why was white guy confidence about Abe and not JFK?
Cleo should never not be the fan service character
The collective seethe of Topher is so funny to watch.
How did they not know what type of person he is from the beginning episodes.
What the fuck is that song that plays at the end of episode 7?
A cover of the rave song that the doctor and robot guy cooked up halfway into the episode. The lady on the stage even says so before she begins singing.
Is anyone else getting forced audio description with episode 8?
I had to look it up, a lot of people are having the same problem and there's no way to turn it off
It's still there? Dang, I was hoping they'd have fixed it by now. Really sucked the humor out of every scene
JFK HUMPS A CASKET
Cleo was still pretty antagonistic until Joan buried the hatchet
Where did you get this leaked storyboard screenshot for the season 3 opener?
jej
>coughing tortoise calls Abe a cuck three times after Abe saves his life
What even is season 2
Pretty sure it was just coughing, the subtitles didn't say anything
>Mr. B is only two feet tall
Weird.
And Joan is 5'1. I would've expected her to be a little taller
That's with the boots so her actual height is probably under five feet.
How did she command an army when no one could even see her
Where’s Gandhi?
In our hearts.
You have to watch 4 seasong of this garbage for a cameo in the last episode
Thanks for begging for 20 years
Fuck you
are these heights accurate to their clone parents IRL?
According to Google...
Abe: Yes
Joan: Likely
JFK: Yes
Cleo: Nah, she'd likely be shorter than Joan
Confucius: Records vary a lot, but the more realistic ones say yes
Harriet: Without the hair, yes
Topher: No, he's depicted as a manlet for teh funneez
Frida: A little bit shorter
confucius must have been like a giant in 5th century bc china. i honestly had no idea he was from that long ago.
There's a bunch account that claim him to be like nine feet tall, so those old Chinese bastards were clearly bullshitting, hence the use of the "realistic" estimate.
Nice to know I'm the same height as JFK
>the designs were supposed to be shit
Okay
They DEFINITELY reduced Cleo’s bust
funny how this show has a height chart and steven universe didn't
God it's insane how Topher has the same earthy colors the old gang has, aside from maybe the pants. He really is the only new character that fits the old style well.
This isnt cancelled?
No, there is still one season left from the two-season order from 2020
.
Hopefully none
🙁
I find it hilarious how everybody loves to laugh at Topher being an incel, and doing these incel practices, but then everybody is just swooning over the Confucious-Harriet stuff, only because Harriet likes Confucious back does it become okay that he's catfishing her. The fandom is basically this picture right now.
Bro tried catfishing a girl and it's just swept under the rug as okay lol look how cute they are together kek
The catfishing was cartoonishly bad, mostly played as a joke
catfishing is still catfishing and creepy shit man
Found this redesign out in the wild, arrogant Twitter artist of course. I understand not liking the design but you missed the point. Candide's not supposed to look normal, the weird body and similiarity to a reptile is intentional.
Honestly I think the artist here was trying to make her look more like a S1 character
>Candide's not supposed to look normal, the weird body and similiarity to a reptile is intentional.
>It's SUPPOSED to look like shit okay!
YES. Yes it is, she's supposed to look like a freak. You can not like that but don't claim that making her look generic is any better.
>He actually admits that her original design looks like shit
Well that was easy.
Her design is perfectly fine. Most art redraws are made by pretentious homosexuals who think they can draw better than everyone else.
moeshit is such a blight that this is actually an improvement tbh
Moe is supposed to be deformed so she's missing the point but the left is a pretty good redesign of Uzaki to look less deformed
News flash: Japanese media draws women extra neotenous which makes them look younger
Most of the redesigns of the S2 characters are literally "lets make them more boring". Like, I get a lot of them are trying to make them fit with the "aesthetics" of season 1 but most of them are just boring and more bland version that look way more bland than most S1 background characters.
Topher is the funniest guy in this whole show right now. Funnier than JFK, sadly.
You take that back! JFK is heckin' wholesome.
The poor girl lost her date overnight.
Poor girl hasn't even gotten a voice line so far
Feels bad. Her and Gandhi were pretty cute together and it could give Gandhi some character development considering his stitch was trying to score and failing miserably
she doesn't seem to care
Episode 7 poster
The episode posters are the best thing to come out of s2.
That and all the intro variants.
Just saw this on Twitter
Are these people not aware that Topher is supposed to be a parody of woke twitter users?
>Telling a little girl that feminism rules
Fixed
What?
Topher is very clearly a creepy incel
Topher is a parody of the "nice guy" revival that happened following the "woke bae" fad.
An incel hiding it via overcompensation
>Topher is very clearly a creepy incel
Yes but not the right wing type
I dont understand why they needed so many new characters when Confucious is clearly the Gandhi replacement. Columbus and Confucious would have been fine, MAYBE one other.
Even then i dont really gel at all with the tiktok shit so as a character im completely lost on that gimmick
Confucius isn’t really like Ghandi. They’re both losers but one is a party animal and the other is a failed e-celeb internet addict
I'm not so sure, but I think the joke is that he's supposed to be an "influencer". I don't think they ever explained what his and Harriet's gimmicks are.
The weird thing is, I thought Confucius was gonna be a Ghandi replacement, but he and Abe didn't even interact outside of the first episode.
Yet another missed opportunity. Maybe that was Lord and Miller's intention considering they only wrote the first ep.
Why do you guys watch this show? Season 2 isn't even funny.
I think it's funny. I watch it with my boyfriend.
>t. straightest clone high watcher
>straightest season 2 watcher
ftfy
Us season 1 only chads are actually superstraight
It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion
The only reason I gave it a chance was because I've recently watched the original and then I saw this video
It sucks but episode 8 was actually good
I'm enjoying season 2 so far.
How do you guys think they would write Gandhi If he was still with us?
Sidelined like Abe and Cleo as to avoid anything that could be controversial but kept to appease fans.
The dynamic of the entire cast would be balanced again so they probably wouldn't need 4 new characters and they'd just add 2 max instead. However this won't magically make the writing funnier so anything that Gandhi does would fall flat like the rest of the season.
>bring Cleo back as a loser who's no longer popular
>have no idea what to do with her
>introduce Frida as the cool girl who has an answer for everything
>have no idea what to do with her
>make them Lumity 2.0
These can't get any lamer
I'm waiting for a following ep to reveal Cleo just wanted to be popular again, and saw getting with the current popular girl as the way to do it
I have a feeling this is a ploy by Cleo to usurp Frida as
Nvm, beat it me to it.
you can fucking tell most of the writers are zennials.
I can't believe I lost my asian goth bgfu to eyeless Chad
There's nothing in the rule book that says a goth can't love a chad
Kino.
Ehhh maybe I can see Gandhi getting little to no lines like Cleo did early on, he probably wouldn't interact with any of cast either beyond a snappy one liner, just taking up space. I feel that they'd still add a character to make up for it.
The wiki calls this guy Isaac Newton but that has to be fan speculation, right?
It's definitely fan speculation, these background characters are never mentioned by name, and I can't find any model sheets with their names.
So far I'm just enjoying the ride, but I am VERY ready to pretend this never happened once it's done
Zoomer here. Unless you mean "humor about zoomers," the bad jokes in the new season aren't zoomer humor. They're just bad.
Yeah, if it were actual zoomer humor it'd be surrealist ironic nonsense ...which is more in line with the spirit of the original show now that I think about it.
Aaaaaaand another straight girl gets turned into a dyke
>straight
That's not gay though.
It's certainly not straight.
>That's not gay though.
it makes her bi at a minium.
when you think that Frida looks like a fucking hairy mexican anyways it's like 75% straight
She said this a sa joke
Not all dykes are bi but all bi are dykes
>Sttraight
lmao
lol
lmfao
