Cause most of Abe's moronation in the second season are are the kind of whacky sidekick antics that fits better with Ghandi's character, so it'd at least free Abe up to be more like the self-serious love-sick teen protagonist that the show was originally parodying to begin with. Granted, you're right, it won't necessarily make the show better at all, but it'd be a start.

I could give you a laundry list of reasons, but I'll start with the big one that makes reboots and remakes inherently shitty:
All art is a product of both its time and the state of mind of the creator(s) at that time. It has been twenty years, the teen soap operas clone high was parodying are completely culturally irrelevant, the cultural landscape is completely alien to what it was even 10 years ago, and even if you got the entire original staff back together, they're twenty years divorced from who they were when they made the first season. Rowan Atkinson said (in the 2000's) that he didn't want to make a fifth series of Blackadder for that exact reason.

It's why Futurama is lame now. I don't want to make myself even sadder, but odds are that if Lord & Miller had been as heavily involved with Clone High's new seasons like 20 years ago, it still wouldn't be the same 'cause their comedic sensibilities have changed, even slightly. Clone High S1 is a time capsule of their more juvenile, twenty-something approach to TV writing. Even the S2 premiere was lacking, and the fact that they even agreed to all the story decisions that followed is very telling.
I just don't think Lord & Miller should've bothered revisiting the show that put them on the map. They've grown a lot since then, so coming back to this world must've felt alien to them.

No one is saying the show didn't have blood or a graphic image here and there. But there is a very distinct visual and punchline difference between something like Ponce's over-the-top litter death that was rare to see and the random blood-gushing jokes that happen once an episode.
Difference is that they didn't write Clone High, they just drew the funny pictures to try and salvage those godawful scripts. If Lord & Miller weren't available, then they should've left this whole thing at S1 and moved on. I hope Max doesn't renew it, but I just know all the diehard fans will give it views necessary for more fanfiction-tier garbage.

This was because back in the day there were always more original ideas more deserving of their chance in the spotlight than there were 'proven' shows that'd run their course.
