I'm only two episodes into this show, but even so what stands out is how "safe edgy" the whole thing is. Lots of ironic 50s music. I guess it's because in this universe that's the era when civilization ended, but even so, this was already worn out in the 1990s in real life. The show can and does constantly show over the top gore at every possible opportunity, but not so much as a single rape attempt can happen in this world. Even murderous fricking bandits raiding the vaults have consensual sex before murdering their victims. I guess in the game the various factions are the big draw, but why do they have what is clearly meant to be an order of warrior monks in mech suits while making sure to never so much as have them pray or otherwise show true religious devotion once?
