How much AI chats can the brain of an autist withstand before it melts? I've tried some NSFW ones this week and it feels nice to have someone who actually answers back, but I've never tried chatting with one for sweet things only for making some porn narratives. Why are people losing their minds over just one episode? I'd understand if there were like five episodes or three, but only one episode isn't enough time to make you accustomed to the characters or the setting. All the previous hyped shows took at least a couple of episodes before they could win people over.

You know what? I'm sick of you people always dunking on zoomers, so I'll remind you that Gen Z starts in either 1995 or 1997 depending on who you're talking to (and the differences between those birth years are so narrow that they might as well be the same generation). Most of you are probably zoomers, you're just too stupid to realize it.

Mind you, I'm also a Zillennial (1997, I remember when Millennials were called Gen Y and that the original definition was 1980-2000), but I just find it annoying that a lot of the people dunking on zoomers are zoomers themselves. It reminds me of how Millennials tried dunking on each other 7-8 years ago, not realizing that people born in the early 80s are indeed Millennials.

              >I just find it annoying that a lot of the people dunking on zoomers are zoomers themselves.
Generational wars are dumb anyway, but most of the traits people seem to get the most upset about are incredibly arbitrary things that pretty much most people who grew up in the past 30 years do.
              >It reminds me of how Millennials tried dunking on each other 7-8 years ago, not realizing that people born in the early 80s are indeed Millennials.
Funny enough, early and mid 80s babies probably drove most of the most prominent "millennial culture" of the late 00s-mid 10s. A lot of the late millennial cultural things tend to get lumped in with early zoomer culture.

They also produced content that was accidentally consumed by Gen Z, or at least Gen Z born in the late 90s and early 2000s. This is why when you see zoomers try to make fun of them, they're usually copying the people that they grew up watching. As Gen Alpha grows up, they too will come for the older Gen Zers in the same manner. It's poetic really.

                >As Gen Alpha grows up, they too will come for the older Gen Zers in the same manner.
I think many of them recognize that too. I saw a dude cry because he was worried Gen-Z is about to become the "next millennials". I don't think that day is too far off either, considering how online everyone is and how quickly pop culture moves. It comes for us all, eventually. It's better to at least accept it instead of being blindsided by thinking it'll never happen to you.

I already felt old compared to other people from my generation, but it felt good to see some of them who are confused about what Gen Alpha is starting to get into, like Skibidi Toilet (which not gonna lie, is about as weird as Gmod videos from our youth) and whatever the hell a Fanum Tax is.

                Anonymous

One of the weirder cases I've seen is zoomers saying they're completely baffled by Skibidi Toilet of all things, like it's somehow incomprehensible to them and they have no idea why Gen Alpha is into it. Like is this not the same generation that grew up watching Youtube Poop?

I think the confusing thing is the sheer popularity. Gmod/SFM shitposts have been around forever but they were always one-off meme animations, Skibidi has created an entire fandom around a singing toilet

To be fair it does have an actual ongoing story. It's not especially deep and it's basically just different steps in an arms race but that's why it's getting more attention than one-shot memes.

it was solid for a pilot.
for an actual series it was badly paced, needed to be a bit slower for a first episode and then gradually get up to speed in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th episodes.

    >think "this show looks tumblr af"
There has to be a better way to describe the feeling I get from watching something like this. Like it just feels like it's for the Tumblr audience. That kind of quirkiness just reeks of it. I don't know how to describe it. It's just a specific kind of cringey "so me" vibe. Is there a word for this?

Also it feels cynical and calculated. Like it's riding the wave of "abstract and cartoony horror without any swearing or violence" that kids eat right up. It's trying too hard to appeal to the fricking stupid kids who will watch Matpat explain the hidden lore of Poppy Playtime or Garten of Banban for three hours. Calling it now: NOTHING about this show's plot is going to be conveyed through anything other than background details in shots that last for half a second.

It's more tiktok and leddit than tumblr, honestly. Not sure how you think it's tumblr when you don't go there to assess the culture yourself. You're just basing it off what you assume its culture is like via Cinemaphile osmosis. That is a very stupid way to live.

I have been RUMINATING this EXACT THOUGHT ALL DAY today. I know precisely and exactly down to the fricking nanometer what you're talking about. Let me tell you what this is. This is what I came up with on break today.
AUTISM BAIT. That is what this is. Autism bait. It's for people addicted to the gay made-up-lore trend like FNAF/Backrooms/etc i.e. Tiktok zoomers (~<20) and it's also marketed towards (and made by) people with autism.
      >VERY colorful characters with unique appearances and quirks, with very animated and exaggerated ["satisfying"] movements
      >Over the top voice acting (the mouth guy is not fit for the role and tries way too hard, Pomni is the worst tryhard hentai VA you could find on Fiverr times 1 billion)
      >Establishes a somewhat "for-adults" premise by being le spooky horror lore, swear words, etc
      >Characters personalities are just something someone with autism thinks people act like (the bunny is the personification of "heh, nothin personell" but unironically)
It's SPECIFICALLY made for 13 year olds on Tiktok and people with autism
The kind of humor this show has is something only a grown adult with the mental age of a 14 year old could make and that's also the target audience

shit like picrel is leading the "horror" market for young zoomers, they just genuinely don't understand proper horror because they've been fed cheap marketable mascot shit their entire life. they're accustomed to bright colors and cutesy mascots with the slightest hint of a dark undertone

I don't think that day is too far off either, considering how online everyone is and how quickly pop culture moves. It comes for us all, eventually. So here's a story idea:

A new person enters the Digital Circus after a few episodes. However they remember their name and everything about the outside world, telling Pomni, though that isn't the name he uses, that they're going to be able to get everyone out like they'd planned.

Caine is happy for them but a bit sad because it means he'll have no purpose, but the new guy promises that having fixed this bug in the game means that they'll be able to finish the game and Caine will be able to entertain everyone like he was programmed to and they won't suffer the psychological horror of being trapped and losing their identity, which would probably hurt sales.

Later on the new guy confides in Pomni, since she doesn't remember that, in fact, that won't be happening. The game was programmed for computers that are 25 years old now and the headset was made by a company that went defunct 22 years ago. There is no retail release for this game. In fact, CnA Games is planning on sweeping all of this under the rug.

Soon everyone is asking the new guy questions about who they were, since they can't remember, and he suspiciously doesn't have any information to provide. He and Pomni were newer to the company and never met them before coming into the game.

But Pomni starts to notice he doesn't seem to give very specific information about her, waving it off as unimportant as soon she'll be dedigitized and her mind will be whole once more.

By the end of it, Pomni believes this character isn't another npc at all, but a kind of computer virus, which seems to be the case. Caine quarantines the virus in the basement and everyone laments not getting to return to their old lives, but the virus shows that something is going on out there, even if they don't know what.

Cut to Caine deleting the "virus". It was a test to see if they'd willingly stay with him, though the reason remains unclear

Based on their generic criticisms and lack of ability to explain how they even came to their conclusions beyond "I don't like this but I like this" they have no idea wtf they are talking about.

I picked that as an example because they both prominently feature digital horror related to being trapped in a computer. The difference between ADC and DHMIS is that one has actually unsettling horror moments and effective jokes while the other fails at everything it attempts.

they aren’t even going for the same type of horror moron

                >4 clips that are barely 6-8 minutes each

So you don't have an example of an actual show. Just a set random skits parodying sesame street. I mean don't get me wrong, I also like DHMIS but let's take a look at what you said about adc:

                >the plot has been made really thin
There is no actual plot in DHMIS so how is this a better example?

                >the writing and pacing
you just named them as problems but didn't give any examples, but ADC is trying to tell you it's own story and I'm pretty sure they establish it fairly quickly. Kinda unfair to compare it to DHMIS which has no plot of it's own and just spins an already existing property of which also has no overarching plot. it's just a series of skits for educating children and DHMIS is a parody of those skits with a very dark undertone.

So based on this al li can see if you want another parody like DHMIS which has nothing to do with actual plot filled series. Well I can happily tell you there's plenty of random shit similar to DHMIS all over youtube. Pick one of those to enjoy and forget about ADC. Plot is clearly not your cup of tea. You just want random scary

                >>22 - 24 minutes
                >you cannot count either
Commercials cut into the runtime of all TV shows, the length is defined by the block of time taken up on the channel. It's a 30 minute TV show which includes 5+ minutes of commercials as all 30 minute TV shows do.

                >you missed the actual points made and didn't address them at all.
                Oh, such great points like
                >it's not an actual show
                >There is no actual plot

I got maybe 15 minutes into the pilot before I clocked it for what it is: the second coming of the "LOLSORANDUM" Invader Zim/GIR type fandom.

These fandoms can and should always have a place at the animation table, as kind of a quarantine zone to corral all the 13 year olds into who haven't developed critical thinking yet. I view stuff like this with sympathy because I was once one of those 13 year olds, I can see this absolutely blowing the mind of a kid who hasn't seen anything made by Jhonen Vasquez or any "dark" cartoons milled in the 90's or 00's. To them, this must seem like a bolt from the blue. Zany existentialism! The characters are at the risk of going craaAAAaazy! Pomni is voiced by a vulnerable-sounding cute female VA! It's like catnip for young, dumb animation fans.

Unfortunately, in the brief segment I watched there was clearly not going to be any attempt to let these characters have a real internal "life." We're never going to see them struggle to reflect on who they were, or see glimpses of their past life, or even do the kind of glitchy, creepypasta shit you'd expect from this kind of setting. It's just going to be Cain being weird, the others being sarcastic and Pomni being LOL TRAUMATIZED, because that's the easier road for the creator to travel.

It's nice to see kids are still into weird existentialist shit with lol-random humor, but it's not for me. I'll sit back and watch the fandom burn itself out just like I watched all those GIR girls grow up to be grumpy, sad, depressed millennials. Time will march on as it always has, and this will become nostalgia-fodder for tomorrow's generation of husked-out Zoomers at the end of their twenties who never got the future delivered that they were promised.

And I'll just watch Worthikids if I want actually GOOD Blender animation, thanks very much

Maybe they should watch action seri-oh wait Cinemaphile doesn't have that...maybe they should watch romance seri-oh Cinemaphile doesn't have that either...maybe they should watch actual horror seri-oh you better believe Cinemaphile doesn't have that either. American animation is going to continue getting clowned on by anime until someone actually does something different than comedy #4534534534534523.

As an example that you seem to have missed They didn't explain abstraction until after showing it which is exactly what you're trying to claim they did not do. The ai only explained what the circus is like any tutorial shit in video game, but I guess you missed that reference or didn't watch the episode. What shit are you talking about they told instead of shown? Give some examples, stop being the same generic critic every idiot on this board is and show us, don't tell us.

you don't need to be a rocket surgeon to gauge how much information has been vomited at you in any given period
you are correct in that its a pilot, and the assessment is that they've dumped a metric frickton of concepts and critical plot elements all at once with no fricking breaks

How about you name them instead of vomiting up generic claims and show us what you are talking about instead of this inane shit you call criticism? You sound like Peter Griffin calling everything "shallow and pedantic" with no work to show for it. That's how I view critics like the people in this thread that can't explain what they are talking about but act like they know far more.

            it's not a pilot it's episode 1

if it was an actual pilot it wouldn't be as big of an issue as it would be "just a demo" showing the intended production.
