Wrong. You're merely suffering Cuckholm syndrome from it being better than STD and Pictard. But this is the Orville - you don't need to pretend S1C is any cop next to it.
Seth unfortunately doesn't know how to be tonally consistent. It's fine to have different tones from episode to episode but he can't even be consistent WITHIN the same episode.
You realize you're shitposting about Americans on an American website on a board devoted to American culture, right? You're literally seething about something you're clearly obsessed with.
Yes, anon.
It sluffed off 75% of viewership from an 8 share down to a low 2 share after the first episode.
That was just the first season. Steady decline. From Ep1 to Ep2, it dropped by almost 50%, so think about how bad you gotta suck to pull that off.
By Season 2, it was at best a low 4 share bottoming out at the high 1 share. In comparison, WWF reruns from the 1980's do those kind of numbers.
Season 3 should follow the same stats low 3's ending in a 1 share, but even less people are interested now no matter what the botposter shills say about it. Reality is a b***h.
>ugly actresses sipping wine and clucking about their feelings >gay men being gayfers >last ditch waifu bait character turns out to be unlikable c**t
Gee, can't imagine why it's not finding it's footing.
i liked the episode where her, isaac and the kids crash on the planet but wouldn't want to see it get dragged out more. it should've just formed a solid friendship. what do they have them doing now? pls no relationship shit
Because it is a tax write-off, anon.
It's the only reason it is being made.
We know that, because the numbers are so bad for it, more people are watching Telemundo on a Tuesday at 8pm than The Snoreville.
because he's a hack. every joke he makes is just dragged on, or ironic. he begged paramount to let him make a trek show and said "it will not be family guy in space, it will be star trek" and they repeatedly turned him down. he finally gets his show and what is it? family guy in space.
theres a scene from one of the first season eps where they infiltrate the krill ship disguised, then make avis car rental jokes for 45 minutes. but at the very end of the episode theres this wonderful scene where he's talking to the teacher, and she asks what will happen to her and the children. its the most star trek scene in the entire show. seth has it in him to write good stuff and it sometimes, but he just can't help himself with gay jokes at every point between which just becomes patronizing at some point
>get to explore a completely unknown region of space >get btfo at your first encounter with something unknown because you don't wear the protective gear that you use later in the same episode >barred from exploring
In only the second episode of SNW, the away team wore space suits and didn't take off their helmets in an environment of breathable air until they did a full security sweep of the chamber.
It's fine they'll just let the evil ayy virus overwriting the oil drilling admiral's DNA do it's thing and then they'll explore the havok that unleashes on the ship. It'll be fine. this is a smart show with smart characters spiritually successoring TNG.
she's obviously sucking somebodies cawk considering she's getting more lines than the red head pilot and token black guy
Like it or hate it, this show is a lot more like older Star Trek than what we have now. The Moclan shit we have, while something that feels like a stupid joke many times, is still handled in a way that old Trek might have. If you look at it, this show >has a court case that still fails even with a good defense >is a modern show that dares to show the anguish and family destroying traits of a child sex change >maintains the logical character's almost alien thought process without cheaping out and giving it emotions >treats problems seriously, even if they seem silly
I'll take all of that over nu-Trek with Marvel tier quips and shit all over the place.
>The Moclan shit we have, while something that feels like a stupid joke many times, is still handled in a way that old Trek might have.
You are fricking moronic.
you can tell they spent a crap load of budget on Moclan costumes so over-using them in the story line

Moclans are just homosexual Klingons. Yeah they are a big gay Black folk in space joke, but they have the characters in universe react realistically to the circumstances, and I really appreciate that. Meanwhile in Picard they just do whatever the frick they feel like and don't give a shit about consistency with the setting.
What bothers me is how human the definition of their gender is.
They fricking lay eggs. Producing eggs is the definition of a biological female. They're hermaphrodites. One gender that can produce or fertilize an egg.
Calling them "male" literally only makes sense to us, as humans with gender prejudices in the 21st century.
Cinemaphile recently did a storytime of the comics. They're basically entire episodes split across two issues each, taking place between the seasons. They're pretty good.
>none from what I remember
Sorry. No deal. Men having sex with each other is integral to my enjoyment of Seth MacFarlane's Trek-like series. It's a core feature of the show and I cannot abide either the comedic aspects nor the sci-fi storytelling without black alien males rutting each other in the butt.
It's insane how starcucks in this thread are coping by calling out one episode from last season. Anyways, ep2 was good for the most part, my only complaint was the entire main cast being the landing party, without even leaving the second command behind. Also the cgi was too fast and looked bad because of it. Otherwise, great episode.
Did you prefer Claire's romantic scenes early in the episode or her scenes at the end? They were both so good it's hard for me to decide. I just settle on the scene with her and Commander Grayson. So so good. I drank a bottle myself while watching it!
I don't know if I can separate the two. Grayson's reappearance obviously made her realize and finally accept her lingering feelings with Issac, so even if I prefer her chemistry with him; it wouldn't have happened had her ex not come back and let her see the difference in actually moving on and still loving someone even if she feels it's wrong.

"The people" are stupid. And also it's stupid to judge an episode standalone before the entire season is out. The reason for this is twofold.
If you look at the negative reviews for Shadow Realms, everyone is saying how depressing and terrifying and bleak it is and how they wanted something happy and cheerful.
But not every episode can be cheerful and also the second episode is actually very entertaining if you're a seasoned horror movie fan because you can see the pastiches everywhere (e.g. Jurassic Park when the Finn bros are evading the creature in the mess hall) and how they ham up the horrific imagery. This episode will be more appreciated in retrospect. It had some cool concepts too like how the Expanse was completely devoid of stars.
The way ships just whiz around during battles, you never get any sense of scale or mass. Compare this kino scene from TNG to what Seth does in this cluttered CGI mess:
So is there no humor in the show anymore? Watched the first episode and noticed it was noticeably more serious in tone. Seems like an odd choice to make for a show.
I don't think the show can work without the humor.
Episode 2 was Jurassic Park, Event Horizon, Aliens, TNG Genesis, Pandorum.
The only problem was imo how long it took to get to the action, and the ending was rushed.
Would have been better if they trimmed some of the beginning and added more time to the end.
but I need to see more of old dusty black lady Claire and her goofy wig. You can't give me Claire relationship melodrama in episode 1 and then leave me with no Claire relationship melodrama in episode 2.
>So you're saying she's a c**t because of this very specific thing that I know you didn't say but which I'm just going to pretend you cited so I can characterize your criticism as unreasonable?
No.
SNW better
better get its shit together if they want people to keep watching it
Its shit is completely together. Lookin like a frickin Moclan.

For the half dozen morons still watching Star Trek after STD and Picard completely raped the franchise
Wrong. You're merely suffering Cuckholm syndrome from it being better than STD and Pictard. But this is the Orville - you don't need to pretend S1C is any cop next to it.
I don't even watch Picard or anything and SNW is really well done. I wish the Star Wars equivalent would exist

Seth unfortunately doesn't know how to be tonally consistent. It's fine to have different tones from episode to episode but he can't even be consistent WITHIN the same episode.

watch this instead
Best TV show on right now
Its not on TV anymore, fox canceled it, now only hulu will show it, so technically its a webshow, not a tv show.
Agreed. As a fan who just happens to be gay, I finally feel seen and represented by The Orville.
>gay teanny aliens from outer space that physically resemble americans!
Cant make this shit up
You realize you're shitposting about Americans on an American website on a board devoted to American culture, right? You're literally seething about something you're clearly obsessed with.
You know Im something of a Black person myself
> Orville thread. Instantly drops to page 10.
Sorry Orgals but this franchise is dead.
>Seth Mchomosexual trying to play Picard
He's such a fricking imposter it hurts
Have you tried watching Picard trying to play Picard?
This is rather watch Seth larp as Picard than watch Stewart's "Picard is me" senile roleplay
Picard was too busy being directed by MacFarlane to suck on troony breasts in Blunt Talk when the Orville was originally starting up.
wasn't it [rightfully] cancelled?
Yes, anon.

Which television channels are showing WWF reruns from the 1980s?
how many bortus species is homosexual episodes will we get this season?
Its all about the black single mother and her kids now
i liked the episode where her, isaac and the kids crash on the planet but wouldn't want to see it get dragged out more. it should've just formed a solid friendship. what do they have them doing now? pls no relationship shit
For me it was when Isaac looked the niglets directly in the eye and said that they were inferior
Frick off shill. This shit sucked from the get-go and it still sucks now.
In this case I really have to believe there are paid shills. Too many threads claiming this is good shit and the opposite of pozzed
Nobody really cares about what you think is le pozzed
SNW trannies seething ITT
Why did Seth take all this fan good will and make a show that is aggressively gay and mediocre?
Because it is a tax write-off, anon.
It's the only reason it is being made.

>get to explore a completely unknown region of space

Name two scifi shows where they use space suits unless they know before hand that the atmosphere is toxic. Dumb nitpick.
In only the second episode of SNW, the away team wore space suits and didn't take off their helmets in an environment of breathable air until they did a full security sweep of the chamber.
Based and smart sci-fi pilled. Rewatching some 4K downloads of the recent episodes as we post.
I like how they introduced and repeatedly use these suits. Also in the latest ep where they investigate the downed cruiser.
I miss the TOS speckly spacesuits, they were so cool, like standing inside Elton John's electric razor.
And then Kirk touched an alien artifact and shocked himself into a coma and almost died. Cringe writing.
Tasha Yar was touched by a tar monster and literally DID die. lol what is "cringe" about that?
Maybe Sam's touched Klingon Time Crystals and had a vision of getting killed by a flying pancake in 8 years.
It's fine they'll just let the evil ayy virus overwriting the oil drilling admiral's DNA do it's thing and then they'll explore the havok that unleashes on the ship. It'll be fine. this is a smart show with smart characters spiritually successoring TNG.
Is the blonde Seth's new squeeze?
At least until Seth fires her like the Alara girl. Or has her killed like Norm.

How much gaysecks? I need my The Orville extended universe to feel authentic.

Oh save it. We got like 5 or so such moments in 3 seasons of Orville. We got as many in 5 episodes of SNW.
We get Pike drinking alone like a man.
based actually looks like a ship in space, makes
look like a cheap theme hotel
brutal, but fair and true. SNW is just a vastly more masculine show so far.
Is this the show where they just announced a non-binary transwoman character?
No that was TNG
Episode 2 was even worse than the first, orshill.
In what way. Episode 1 was mostly a recap on past events. Episode 2 was horror kino.
Yeah because that's what people wanted out of the Orville.
Body horror.
It was a Branan Braga written episode. You have a 50% chance of getting body horror.
"The people" are stupid. And also it's stupid to judge an episode standalone before the entire season is out. The reason for this is twofold.

>Episode 2 was horror kino.
It was a half-assed Alien ripoff.
I watched all the episodes in 2 weeks. Kinda sad I made myself have to wait now.
The way ships just whiz around during battles, you never get any sense of scale or mass. Compare this kino scene from TNG to what Seth does in this cluttered CGI mess:
>they literally crash into each other because of that moronic tight formation
At least the show is sort of acknowledging it's own stupidity.
There was no reason to be that tight in the first place other than to make those collisions possible. So that's not a point in its favor at all.
>live fire exercises in space dock
It's almost like they stage patently stupid scenarios in order to have "cool" things happen on screen.
Who said it was live fire?
Those fiery explosions perhaps?
That just means the explosion was real. It doesn't mean the shots were.
Oh, just a real explosion in space dock instead of ordinance fired in space dock and and an explosion in space dock after. Totally benign.
Yeah?
Yeah. Space fighter jets causing explosions in space dock. That's like, totally normal and fine.
Sure, why not?
I know. I'm agreeing with you. It's totally plausible and not stupid at all and just so happens that it also is really heckin cool. Zoom zoom pew pew.
Ok cool.
So is there no humor in the show anymore? Watched the first episode and noticed it was noticeably more serious in tone. Seems like an odd choice to make for a show.

>this makes her an unlikable c**t
>So you're saying she's a c**t because of this very specific thing that I know you didn't say but which I'm just going to pretend you cited so I can characterize your criticism as unreasonable?
No.
I like the show
Not sure why SNW troons keep popping up in these threads
I have a giant secret gay crush on Scott Grimes
He's great in ER
Don't worry, most orshills are gay.
Am I getting old or is the music too loud?
Old in opinion or old in your ability to hear?
Maybe your sound system is fricked up.
The music just feels so much louder than the dialogue and I'm getting annoyed at how loud I need to turn it up to hear them speak
Yeah, either your hearing's fricked or your sound system is. Stop making it worse by blasting your ears and see a doctor.
Okay mum
Between The Orville and Strange New Worlds for once I am sated.
