I’ll talk about them with you but only old comics like 80s and 90s era. I don’t keep up with current comics as they just feel like soulless fan fiction
I read a little bit of everything, from the 1900s to now, superheroes and non-superheroes, from pretty much any country that makes comics. The only thing I don't really touch is webcomics and webtoons, but there are a few webcomics I'm willing to look into.
I still find it difficult to get a discussion going here.
If you find one please tell me.
This board encourages posters to spew filth and bile on anyone who voices an earnest opinion on a book they actually like. Or it gets ignored completely.
Reddit's model doesn't seem to work for comic book discussions. The downvote system discourages controversial opinions so all you get is saccharine circlejerks from charactergays.
All the old forums are gone, or are shadows of their former selves.
I don't know where to go to talk comics anymore. It's sad.
I can ignore the vitriol, but the fact that it's a wasteland for comics is discouraging.
I got you friend.
You reading anything now? Im going through old punisher war journal issues and reading 90s Danny ketch ghost rider run. Ghost riders really good
I'm going through a final (not likely) round of superhero comics I've missed that I've been wanting to read, and some I want to reread.
Right now I'm reading Allred's Madman. I'm definitely going to read through those Dixon and Potts issues of The Punisher, but I'm not a fan of Ghost Rider. There are also several Golden Age heroes I want to look into, like this guy named Flip/Flick Falcon. Lots of less talked about stuff too. I'm not easy to please, so who knows how many I'll finish.
No. A decent comics board would just remove anything animation and live action related, and have good moderation in place. No need for generals.

Given how much people sperg, I disagree. They'd start culling stuff like this or say shit like "too anime" despite how anime some of the indie shit gets.

Let them sperg.
Interest in comics have been devolving with the influx of coomers. People believed that more focus on females in comics would make people more interested in comics, and it did. Just not the kind of interest that is really relevant to the comic connoisseur.
This was inevitable.
Sexy is necessary. All you need is moderation to help keep it at an appropriate minimum.
There's barely any good place to discuss any form of art these days thanks to social media and to be honest, there's barely anything worth discussing these days with how lower the quality managed to get.
Discuss what? A bunch of fanfiction? You might as well as read DC related shit on the actual fanfiction site. There’s no difference other than a price. The former is a scam.

This is it.
For better or worse, Cinemaphile is the best place to talk about comics.
You might find a discord server that's decent, or you might get groomed to be someone's kitten.
You might find a forum, but those are dead most of the time, and only really work for niche focuses.

I've never read Madman, but I remember it seeming particularly zany. I like Allred's talent but anything recent looks too plastic.
The early issues of Madman Comics (as opposed to just Madman from a year or two before) seem to be his peak.
That's just silly. Putting cartoons with comics doesn't make sense, but you're going too far the other way.
Then general threads instead. Would make things more focused would it not?
Marvel general /MvG/
Dc general /DcG/
Image general /IgG/
Indie general /IdG
Keeps everything nice and tidy.

are the cbr forums still around?

Unless you happen to be reading the same comics as your peers, not really. This kind of thing needs separate boards.
One for Marvel
One for DC
One for Image, Skybound, etc
One for general indie shit (Vault, Madcave, Scout, etc)
Not everyone reads the same books so discussing them in general doesn't work. Only industry discussion works that way.

So lemme guess, we gotta return to Jesus yeah?
Nah apparently just have to make everything lame and gay now as a result
It's been that way forever.
