>Completely unfunny
>Way too long
>Entirely tone deaf
>Not even a single good joke right at the end of the show as an apology for making us sit through McElhenney's mid life gay crisis.
Still makes me angry. STILL the worst episode ever.

Don’t watch this show after s6 personally
Cast just seem to have gone off the deep end spouting liberal shit and complaining about their old episodes being offensive
Don’t get when people do that shit
I tuned out years ago. Even without politics the show went to hell and stopped being funny. Live-action Family Guy.
If you watch the podcast, it's pretty clear it's Rob who's obsessed with being "Liberal" enough and also coping with his closeted homosexual urges.
Charlie almost seems to fully disagree with Rob half the time and Howerton just doesn't care enough to take a stance either way. So Rob just leads the show down a woke rabbithole.
Yeah or even just
>I still don't get it
Or his Dad is crying and wants to assert dominance so he kicks off a riot to hide his tears or something.
SOME sort of joke to undermine how fricking STUPID that dance was. I literally patiently waited through the dance, thinking there couldn't be a better spot for a REALLY aggressive homophobia joke or something than right after the gay interpretive dance. Legit fricking lost my shit when it was just Frank somehow having an awakening.
season 12 was the last straw for me, everything before that at least has good moments sprinkled in there
Can't believe there's still people watching this slop after this moment
>camera cuts to the audience; everyone left
>camera cuts to frank "what a homosexual"
he doesn't say that, Chris
How about you do the revelation scene, but the twist is Frank’s revelation is that Mac is in fact gay. ‘Oh my god, I finally get it, Mac, you’re a gay!’
Yup. Literally any joke at all during, before or after the applause would have made the entire thing WAY less offensively stupid. Like it would elevate from a 1/10 to a 4/10. That's a 400% increase in quality.
I haven't watched that episode but Frank's Brother is worse.
rob is responsible for all the edge but also all the apology. I dont know what his problem is
>I dont know what his problem is
high iq, always results in being a pain in the ass unless inebriated enough to silence the conflicting thought streams
>high iq, always results in being a pain in the ass unless inebriated enough to silence the conflicting thought streams
Nah, high IQ would be able to do his moronic gay self-insert drama in the show without making is total homosexualry. If Rob wasn't a moron with a double digit IQ, he would've put a joke in there somewhere.
you're not speaking from experience so ill give you an example: einstein's hair
ponder it, and you'll see the truth
lmao, you must be VERY stupid. Holy frick.
>lmao
>Lmao
interesting how npcs all react the same way, not that they have a choice
Shut the frick up moron. Go chew on a lightbulb or something.
>Einstein was complicated and intelligent enough to let himself have sloppy hair and things while creating massive scientific breakthroughs, because hair style and things like that aren’t a priority in science
>therefore this comedian is as genius as Einstein for fricking up his actual job of writing a comedy skit
Lmao no
he could just be a mid iq, but he was worried about being stained by the past.
he sees the virtue brigade and kneels before being made to, despite them having no real power, and is now doubling down
>he could just be a mid iq, but he was worried about being stained by the past.
Which makes him weak AND stupid
>he sees the virtue brigade and kneels before being made to, despite them having no real power, and is now doubling down
Yup. Because he's weak.
Least talented of the bunch. Remember seeing commentary that they really only pushed the pilot of the show to give Rob his last chance to make it in Hollywood as he was about to give up. Other two pretty much already had some acting jobs lined up
I only stay for Dennis's righteous outrage. The new season was almost entirely dog shit but the bit where he has to wear a heart rate monitor was pretty good.
Word around the campfire is ryan "Deadpool van wilder" Reynolds is gonna be his gay boyfriend in the new season.
>Word around the campfire is ryan "Deadpool van wilder" Reynolds is gonna be his gay boyfriend in the new season.
Ugh.
If reddiCinemaphile doesn't like it maybe its actually a great episode afterall...
I mean if you want a 5/10 IASIP episode with a REALLY stupid running gag where Frank has a nosebleed that's a metaphor for accepting your inner homosexuality. Drops down to a 1/10 for the final 5 minutes as the jokes completely stop and there's a homosexuallity themed dance routine .
>you guys don't like it so that means I like it
Don't do that. Don't be that guy.
I unironically cried at this scene and thought it was beautiful.
The Charlie in Ireland stuff can get fricked
>I unironically cried at this scene and thought it was beautiful.
That makes you an NPC moron.
>Tunes into a show about Philly scumbags
>Gets a big gay dance number with no jokes
>Cries because he's a big fricking homosexual NPC who wasn't offended by his funny scumbag show getting dramatic and emotional
>unironically cries over a 4 chan post
this scene was totally on character and entertaining
>this scene was totally on character
Yeah and him spending sunday morning at Mass praying on his knees would also be in character. It would ALSO be unaccaptable unfunny dogshit to show Mac at Sunday Mass.
> entertaining
Fidget spinners are entertaining. Good job. This episode is on the level of spinning plastic trash.
While it’s not Always Sunny at all, this scene was genuinely beautiful and emotionally raw and made me genuinely feel for the character
And then I remembered it’s always sunny and the character didn’t earn this catharsis. In anything else I would fight for this payoff but considering the characters history and development it was indulgent and clearly an author insert to be a panacea for both the character and the authors social sins which come off as phony and lacking in any levers of authenticity.
I hate later season Charlie but at least he still Carrie’s the spirit of his character, Rob trying to rehabilitate Mac when we always knew he was a fricking moron seems so counter productive
He has missed the point of his own joke, it would be like John Cleese doing an apologetic reboot of Fawlty Towers where he apologised to the Germans
It insists upon itself
So Rob McElhenny has to be bi or closeted IRL, right? The show started really leaning into the "Mac acts gay without realizing it" jokes more and more and more until they had just remade the character into "Mac's a closeted gay" by season 7 or 8, then a few seasons later it just became "Mac's an out homosexual." I can almost imagine him pitching it as "jokes" until he finally worked up the courage in season 11 or whatever to be like "hey what if we made Mac gay? You know, to freshen things up. I'd be totally cool to play him as gay by the way, I mean if it's good for the show I'm willing to go that far as an actor."
We know he has two moms so the smart money says he was abused as a kid.
Yes. Rob himself is a devout Catholic with gay urges. That dance was about Catholic God forgiving him for being gay.
From the podcast it seems more apparent that Rob's a gimmick writer, and writes episodes and extended subplots around 1 moment or thing that pops in his head that he thinks is really funny/cool. The whole Ireland season is because he was insistent that "it'd be really funny if they were in Ireland for a whole season" Every sitcom has those writers and thats fine because that's where the more original outlandish ideas come from, however they don't really work unless they are hard filtered by people willing to tell them no, or put in the work into making them fit into the context of the show. The Gay Dance is the same setup as when they do the Gay Dance at the High School Reunion, only difference is everything around the Gay Dance at the High School Reunion is better written and justified in the episode, the cast are playing characters and aren't fellating Rob's self-insert, and it pays off within the episode.
If Rob isn’t gay he’s definitely a gay fetishist, a fujo of men. When someone’s gay the idea is that’s who they are, but some people are just fans of gay shit and do it like porn fans
>gay fetishist, a fujo of men
A literal gayhag/metrosexual.
Honestly I usually like gay dudes better than most straight guys. They're usually easier to be around, more interesting with more interesting hobbies, and do do macho shit test bullshit all the time trying to prove how manly they are. They're always chill and creative. If it wasn't for the homosexual shit gays would be cool as frick.
You're either a gay or a woman so your opinion is meaningless either way.
>macho shit test bullshit
It's called having testosterone you fricking homosexual. If you don't have a dick or balls then you LITERALLY wouldn't understand.
No, it's called being insecure and having a Black person brain. I know you can't understand because of the Black person brain and all but secure men don't need to act macho like preening boomers. Maybe someday you'll stop drinking so much soda and the brain fog will clear and you'll be able to understand just how gaytarded you really are.
>No u
Whoa we got the king of comebacks over here. Yeah you sure showed me sweetheart
That’s one thing but are you doing gay interpretive dance because you just want in on the scene
I love how you people are always surprised when actors are the most annoyingly liberal people to exist. When will you learn?
I like that Imagine Dragons song.
the joke (even if none of us thinks it's funny) in their eyes is that they had a "super serious" scene in a comedy show
>omg lol is he really doing all that? that's like super deep for a comedy show and since i'm aware of the juxtaposition i need to say this is funny AND serious
that's literally how they expected you to react, and some people did, look at the comments in:
That's pretty gay ngl. I don't know or care to know the context.
It's pathetic tbh, he's a massive narcissist IRL.
Yeah genuine cringe
>haha wouldn't it be funny if I got roided out and did a homosexual dance
Why does Charlie even hang around this homosexual he clearly hates Rob if you've seen the podcast
It reminds me of The Jazz Singer, so you want to play blackface or gay, sure, but do you really need your God to love it?
Whole thing could've been redeemed if instead of everyone feeling bad for Mac they just kind of look bemused, Dennis looks at his watch and then Frank says, "what the hell was that gay shit?" and cut to credits.
Honestly at the end of the day it’s supposed to be gay positive and most of the jokes people would have liked to see aren’t gay positive
weird how they had a whole episode revolving around frank calling mac a homosexual one season before this one
