He was funny when his show was after Leno's because he could do characters like "the masterbating bear" and "Pimpot 5000" but when he moved on from that he cut all that shit out.

Conan has a lot of creative freedom just being some dumb podcaster and he's still a boring softball homosexual. It's not the network keeping him down, it's his lack of writing talent supporting him.
This. TV hosts are blank slate morons. The zeitgeist was a lot more edgy during Conan's peak. It's incredible how many jokes were made at the expense of homosexuals on his show during its peak.

You guys do know he was like the BEST writer SNL and The Simpsons ever had, right? Like he's a writer himself and a pretty damn good one. Him, Bob Odenkirk, and Norm Macdonald wrote some of the best sketches when they were writing for SNL.

My parents wouldn't let me watch the Simpsons but they didn't care if I stayed up late enough to watch this. It still fricks with my head to this day. I remember sneaking out into the living room and they caught me while a jerking off bear bit was on and were just like "carry on". I watched a lot of Conan even if half of the jokes didn't make any sense to me. He put some of his best 90's and 00's interviews on yt. I wish he'd put whole episodes up, that'd be kino.
