Besides being falsely accused, I actually fully believe the fact that apparently, he's a b***h to be around and work with. Everything I've seen from the man tells me that I'd wanna drop him as soon as I could too.

He wasn't falsely accused, there just wasn't enough physical evidence to convict. Which is how most domestic abuse cases go unless the abuser is moronic enough to continue it right up to when the cops pull up.

        Anonymous

        Wrong
Domestic abuse leaves a ton of evidence behind
Neighbors who hear yelling and loud noises
Friends and family who notice physical signs such as evidence of physical abuse
Friends and neighbors who notice behavioral evidence of abuse
Actual physical evidence of abuse such as evidence of hitting
People who actually witnessed the abuse since the more the abuse goes on the hardest it become to keep contained and hidden
Problem is police should be called during an episode of abuse or right after an episode of abuse but people decide to go to the police months of years after then complain there is nothing the police can do about it
It's the same with rape, a rape kit can provide dna evidence of the rapist and evidence of struggle and forceful penetration but it won't provide them if you go to the police a week after the rape happened

Harmon is just as bad as Justin, but the difference between them was that people liked working with Harmon. Justin did nothing but make people hate him, if he did the opposite, he probably would've came back from the court case still getting work.

          Anonymous

I dislike Harmon a good deal more than Roiland personally for several reasons. Most topically is probably their approach to writing and humor. Roiland and his voices and humor I like, regardless of whether or not he's a creep. That said less interested in Rick and Morty without him.

            Anonymous

I do agree about Rick and Morty. I think that's going to be the only show he was in that's gonna be hugely impacted by his absence since his whole voice performance defined the main characters, but we don't know if that will be enough to actually kill the show.

Honestly it's kinda like another Squidbillies situation again. Though to be fair, Hinson did less to get axed.

                Anonymous

Squidbillies was on its last season regardless of the Hinson situation, so Adult Swim just shitposted and got Tracy Morgan to voice Early because of how ridiculous it was. Rick and Morty is their cashcow and it still has loads of more episodes ordered, so the new casting is really gonna have to "work" to keep the investment worth it.

The first episode with the recast will most likely get a big boost in ratings just from the curiosity to see how Justin was replaced, but after that the ratings will be the same and possibly lower from the usual decline.

Yes, the network is absolutely paying people to blacken Roiland's name so they have an excuse to drop an otherwise successful and popular moneymaker, because corporations hate money.

          Anonymous

My bad, I wasn't aware that Rick and Morty had been cancelled, I wrongfully assumed that the network planned to continue the show without Roiland, still making money out of it indefinitely but paying the creator much less money thanks to a very convenient dismissal.

Thank god I was totally wrong.

        >"I-it's not that we want to remove him to control his successful show, he's actually a bad person, look, all these people we're paying agree with us!"
Yes, that's how Hollywood works now, for some reason they stopped actively hiding their scandals and now they're weaponizing them, they've adapted, but i won't give credit just to the studios, many in hollywood are petty buttholes with big egos, just about anyone can setup a scandal like this, but if people actually likes you (or if you have dirt on them) then you might get some people on your side regardless, Justin Roiland aparently had neither
Personally i won't be shedding any tears over him either, i didn't like his attitude, i didn't like his work

          Anonymous

The funny thing is they did hide Justin Roiland's scandal. He was arrested in 2020 for domestic abuse and false imprisonment and it wasn't public knowledge until the beginning of this year because his trial date was this year and that they couldn't hide.

For 3 years, Justin Roiland walked around like his shit didn't stink because people around him did their damndest to protect their golden goose untill they couldn't

            Anonymous

            >people around him did their damndest to protect their golden goose untill they couldn't
No, it's definitely all an elaborate framejob paid for by the network so they can diddle him out of royalties. The loss of a creator with a proven successful track record and the risk that one of their paid stooges will rat their behaviour out to the public is a small price to pay for the chance to save however much money by the (unknown) terms of his contract and/or insert nefarious globohomosexual propaganda into his show without the masculine bulwark that is Roiland there to prevent them. I mean it just makes more sense.

The accusation had literally zero evidence and required him to be able to both TIME TRAVEL and TELEPORT, so they were kinda sketchy. Even with no evidence you'd think that a sex pest would somehow leave witnesses but apparently he's also able to turn invisible too. He didn't show up on security cameras? Nobody saw him?

God, no. It's down to a third of what it used to be. Excluding the season premier, every episode of last season was only pulling in twice the viewers of the American Dad reruns. If anything, it was a gamble to salvage being saddled with the rest of the seasons they pre-ordered and the skyrocketing production costs for those episodes by dropping the overpaid guy quadruple-dipping into every production role.

Roiland never struck me as very right wing.

The guy seemed Centrist to me, but having his career torn down completely could make a guy make odd decisions if they still want some of that limelight.

If he was motivated by attention. As you said acting was his career. I'd imagine he might be more motivated by the search gainful employment. Could be way off though. Don't know much about him as a person to make those kinds of guesses very confidently.

He’s dead to the industry that’s for sure, unless he writes under a pen name I doubt he’ll get work again. His voice is to iconic to not notice its him. I’d say at this point he’ll probably take the paycheck and just relax giving up. Alternatively he’ll do the independent thing. He’s been radio silent though so he’s ether a stepping away from Hollywood or staying under the radar while trying to work his way back in.

This doesn't even make sense in a production sense? Why even bother bringing in a character who is tied so hard to his VA? What is really LACKING without Lemongrabs inclusion in the series as a whole?

Who cares the idiots that like adventure time will it up eat any shit that has its name up, and make an hour long video essay about how it was the best story ever and made them cry.

The adventure time spi off has been in production since 2021, the Justin Roiland scandal only came to light at the beginning of this year. Lemongrab's scenes were probably done or close to done by that point. I don't think you understand how production timelines work especially for streaming shows who have to have all or mpst of their season order done before the first episode airs, er streams

I can't believe so many people can have a modern education but still adopt a guilty until proven innocent mentality. The case got dismissed because of a lack of evidence but a lot of people here still presume guilt.

They'll call themselves progressive too but they're adopting a thought-process that's 100s of years old. If they were born long ago, they would be no different from the typical person that fiercely defended the status quo of the day, launching old women into rivers because some authority accused them of being a witch.

It's precisely because they think they're progressive, they're too full of themselves to realize they're repeating basic historical mistakes. It has been proven time and time again over the centuries, the people that were in the right were those that were skeptical and made evidence-based decisions. NOT the buttholes that blindly followed the flavor of the day.

There are people ITT claiming it's a conspiracy by the network. Very fine people on both sides don'tchaknow

      >The case got dismissed because of a lack of evidence
Lack of evidence about that particular accusation. There still exists evidence of him being a shitty person in general, and it's THAT that is causing him to be booted out of things.
You can be accused of different things at the same time. Just because one is not provable doesn't automatically invalidate everything else. And the "everything else" is provable. We have the evidence.
You don't need to commit a crime to be bad person. That's a not a hard threshold. You can do bad things that are not illegal. Just because there are no legal repercussions for those bad things does not mean there aren't any repercussions at all.

      You fricking idiot.

I'm complaining about people saying that specific accusation about the beating was true even after it was dismissed. I never said the other things he did were okay etc, that he needed to keep his spots on his shows etc.

I think people forget actors are entertainers. Their image is literally everything. All that fame does come at a cost, it's a high risk high reward field. People shouldn't aspire to go into entertainment unless there's a real passion or talent for it.

I can understand why people lie all over the place. A lie is more interesting than telling the truth.
Is it so hard for people to be honest?
A niave question. What I am getting at is why the frick just not fire Roiland because his terrible work ethic and stop using the opinion of the public to fire them and even law to destroy a career? We have put our selves in a motion where you have to cover your ass so hard that you are perceived more than human.

      >be showrunner
      >not actually employed by the network
      >have a huge contract saying you get paid for making the ordered episodes, even if they don't want them anymore
      >have small clause in the contract saying you don't get paid if you become a known wifebeater or reincarnated Hitler or babyraper because you'd be too toxic to be worth associating with
      >get charged with wifebeating
      >get publicly known as a wifebeater
      >lose contract
You confused the cause and effect.

He was probably on balance worth keeping to the network however difficult he was, until being publicly vilified tipped the scales and they dumped his ass.
      >and even law to destroy a career?
This had nothing to do with the network dumbass, they were criminal charges.
