They turned up the pozz in this one. Starts off with pretty much literal gay sex in episode one (with a twist). Then the producers shoved pegging into one or two other eps for literally no reason. They also introduced a character that is supposed to ape Tucker Carlson and they turned up the "Homelander is Trump" bit even more. Aside from that, the first few episodes sucked even from a non political viewpoint and only the last 1-2 episodes were good. In fact the last one "Herogasm" was exceptional.
The show has a pretty solid amount of fun poked at bullshit corporate wokeness and how hollow that is, though it is exaggerated enough that it feels a little toothless. There's also a fair amount of crap given to conservatives, MAGA, Homelander has some Trump references, and Soldier Boy is supposed to be an unlikeable out-of-touch "toxic male." Unfortunately Homelander and Soldier Boy are so entertaining to watch that any attempt the show makes to make them despicable is undercut. Yes, Homelander is a fricking monster and should be put down like a rabid dog, yes, Soldier Boy is kind of an butthole, but at least they're (relatively) honest about who they are, basically everyone else in the show (especially anyone working for Vought) are such hypocritical, spineless, bottom-feeding scum that without Homeland or Soldier Boy, the show wouldn't be worth watching.
That being said I do like Karl Urban and Jack Quaid as actors, and I like Frenchie and the Japanese chick.
