Considering how reboots keep ending up, it's probably for the best that this show DOESN'T come back.

Ideas for the remaining seasons were conceptualized already but I do agree otherwise
I wanted to see Liz get the Venom symbiote, and fight Spidey as an angry ex-girlfriend She-Venom.
Same shit for Clone Wars but they changed things anyway.
That one still pisses me off. I was just talking about it in another thread. They had seasons 6-8 all written, got cancelled halfway through 6, but then they get renewed years later, so what do they do? Only do 12 episodes, 4 of which they'd already released animatics of, and change them anyway, only giving the bare minimum of closure with a tie-in to launch a spinoff. Why make The Bad Batch when you haven't finished The Clone Wars? I don't get it.
Jizzney hates the prequel era
I hope TAS never gets the X-men 97 treatment. I can only imagine what a modern writer would do to him.
It is a miracle he dodged any cameos for two decades straight.
People wanting to revive it (or X-Men: TAS) baffle me. Those shows had good, long runs and wrapped up near everything. I could understand stuff that was short-lived or screwed over. Wolverine and the X-Men seemed like an obvious choice since they already made assets for season 2.
YJ is a very different show than Spectacular, it makes no sense to compare them. YJ always did time skips, larger casts, etc. and seasons 3 and 4 were consistent with that. Spectacular was always more focused on Peter with everyone else as supporting cast, had a concrete five-season plan, few to no planned guest stars, etc.
>it makes no sense to compare them
Both are made by Greg
He's co-showrunner in both of them. He didn't single-handedly make them and isn't the sole voice for either one. And again, both shows have different approaches, tones, plot structures, etc. We wont know how a "modern" Spectacular season would be like until it's actually made, and that's obviously never going to happen due to Sony giving away the TV rights.
Getting renewed on HBO max gave Greg the freedom to do more stuff he couldn't do on CN. If they renew spectacular would be on Disney+ and he had an outline for the whole series start to finish unlike YJ. I doubt much would change other then him subtly implying Flash Thompson Trans or something.
I once read that Greg could squat 450lbs to full depth. Do we know if that’s true?
>Those shows had good, long runs
>26 episodes
He was clearly talking about Spider-Man: TAS and X-Men: TAS, which both lasted longer than 26.
>it's probably for the best that this show DOESN'T come back.
Indeed. It would've been nice to see them turning Gwen into Spider-Women before Spider-Gwen was a thing though.
I always thought that The Animated Series had perfect ending. Moreso after rewatching the whole series a few months ago. People are like "it ended on a cliffhanger", but you don't even need to see how Peter finds Mary Jane: obviously, it's going to happen.
There probably could've been some curious stories with Kaine or Spidercide, but we probably didn't miss out on much anyway. Cartoon covered pretty much everything it could, which is great on itself.
True
Initially I wanted it to come back, but looking at media right now and how Young Justice turned out, it's probably for the best for it to stay as it was.
Are there any fan comic continuations?
there is a youtube continuation thats alright. season 4 recently started
luckily greg isnt intrested either, he's happy he worked on bit no longer wants to continue it
Being realistic about its low chances of getting renewed isn't the same as not wanting to work on it again. I'm sure if the opportunity came out against all odds, he'd happily take it.
YJ has a general outline that covers at least three more seasons. It's just meant to flesh out a wider DC universe and larger cast instead of how self-contained and focused SSM was.
You know what, maybe you're right. Even if it was good, people would still be b***hing because of how the media landscape has changed since then.
Smart of them to not use Lion-Man Kraven on the poster.
